I really wanted to play, but it's disappointing that there's no web version. Based on the visuals I saw, I rated the graphics, but I don't think it's right to vote on the others.

guitarbro 2025-04-09 04:45

Sorry @xorfe, unfortunately we're using features that Unity doesn't support in WebGL so it had to be download only. We tested on both Windows and Linux and both of those definitely work (though YMMV on OS X). Glad you liked the promo art at least.

yibirabbit007 2025-04-09 05:20

It's a pity that I wanted to play it directly on the web, but this game appealed to me!

xorfe 2025-04-09 05:24

@guitarbro if its not a secret which features? im just curious lol.

guitarbro 2025-04-09 05:27

@xorfe audio mixer effects for... certain atmosphere :eyes:

guitarbro 2025-04-09 05:28

@yibirabbit007 hey, glad it was up your alley!

cethin 2025-04-10 22:38

@yibirabbit007 Yeah, we normally include a webgl build, but it is limiting. We're hoping it isn't too much of a barrier for people to download it only. I guess we'll find out!

mrantoinest 2025-04-12 02:27

Very cool game ! The atmosphere and the lighting was great ! It wasn't that scary after all, but i really liked it ! <3

guitarbro 2025-04-12 02:38

@mrantoinest haha, thanks! Glad you liked it.

floppynub 2025-04-12 03:07

Really impressive game, absolutely beautiful to look at and listen to. Walking through that first door was an incredible reveal moment, and the concrete structure looks fantastic. It reminded me a lot of the game Control. The atmosphere was tense and mysterious, something I find more interesting than just being straight up "scary", so props there. The only request I have is to not have the music restart between rooms - the music is fantastic, the way it builds and builds as you progress is super smart, and the way it made my subwoofer go crazy in the final room was good fun. It just kinda pulls you out of things when you go through a door and the music totally restarts. Great entry though, good work!

guitarbro 2025-04-12 03:10

@floppynub Appreciate the detailed feedback! Totally agree on the music restarting, we had to make a last minute pivot to separating the levels for the sake of baking the lighting (it took too long even on my 4070 ) so we didn't have time to implement it in a way that would seamlessly transition. Really glad you enjoyed the horror vibes though. (And yes, there may have been some Control inspiration lol)

daniel 2025-04-12 03:16

Whoa, fantastic atmosphere and mood. Pretty straightforward gameplay but kept me engaged the whole way though. Initially thought the screen effect was my graphics glitching out before I caught on, great effect.

guitarbro 2025-04-12 03:30

@daniel Thanks! Yeah I can see how it might make you think that something was up with your GPU or monitor

tetracold 2025-04-12 06:30

The mood here is amazing, I love the slight world building and the setting feels very mysterious and cool. you captured perfectly that abandoned vibe, it makes me think of gmod maps almost

I like that the exploration is encouraged by the main mechanic, it's pretty clever design.

the sound design is also great

guitarbro 2025-04-12 17:58

Thanks @tetracold! Glad you liked it!

artel 2025-04-12 20:27

Impressive use of lighting and shadows.

silas-reinagel 2025-04-12 22:18

The mood here is perfect! I was super excited when I saw the AtomBrite logo.

I felt a little let down by the end. While the ambience was fantastic, I feel like this type of game either needs a little bit more gameplay/puzzle, or it needs more narrative/social commentary. I was expecting to experience at least one of those, and that expectation definitely isn't in the current build.

That said, the artwork is just fantastic... I feel like with just a little more narrative or gameplay depth, this could absolutely be a real successful commercial project. The soundtrack is full of feeling. The geiger-counter sounds/hints are amazing. The shaders are great. The SoPro logo is the perfect touch of subtle humor. I love this overall and honestly it makes me want more.

guitarbro 2025-04-14 22:45

@artel Thanks, we thought they turned out better than expected lol

@silas-reinagel Glad you liked the mood/art/music, but yeah we did _originally_ plan to have more narrative stuff in the environment to try and give it a more concrete story. However it largely ended up falling through due to the time limit, so we just tried to make sure the most meaningful elements were present and leave the rest to the player's imagination. Thanks for playing though!

batthecat 2025-04-15 02:22

the environment its amazing... nice light work and baking here!!! the mood its very cool... the narrative its another super positive thing here!!! great work

guitarbro 2025-04-15 02:48

@batthecat Appreciate the kind words (and thanks for playing!)

cethin 2025-04-15 03:16

@silas-reinagel Like @guitarbro said, we wanted more of that, but didn't have time. We also wanted pieces of the environment to move too, instead of just doors, but the baked lighting didn't allow us to do that and it was the only option that let us get the style we wanted sadly, so the ability to create puzzles was very limited. We had planned for radiation to be blocked by walls (which it actually does now, but it isn't utilized), but there wasn't a good way to make use of it with static geometry.

And to everyone I've missed, thanks for playing!

eugenik 2025-04-15 11:07

a bit too fast pace

guitarbro 2025-04-15 22:16

@eugenik sorry we'll slow it down some next time

dandee 2025-04-17 06:24

Loved the aesthetic, well done!

i-pots 2025-04-17 11:28

Good game! I like this gameplay!

a-bond 2025-04-17 13:49

I like this one! Nice graphics, level design, sound design and atmosphere in general.

The only thing I didn't like is too much darkness in some places, sometimes it seemed like it was getting darker when I got to the darker part of the level (which is exactly opposite of how eyes work in reality).

guitarbro 2025-04-18 01:01

@dandee Thanks! :smiley:

@i-pots Glad you liked it!

@a-bond Thanks. Yeah, we wanted it to get darker as you go deeper, but ran out of time to do another pass on the light bake down there to make it a little more navigable. Hope you were still able to find your way eventually, though.

designernap 2025-04-20 07:37

This was fantastic. Absolutely brilliant experience. I was aiming for something similar with my entry, but this has far surpassed it in mood and atmosphere and I am VERY jealous of your audio! it really ties it all together. Love the use of minimal assets and the feel of the facility you have made. Although I am solo and doing the compo so I will give myself a break! :D Fantastic stuff. Really well done.

guitarbro 2025-04-20 20:04

@designernap wow, appreciate the kind words! And yeah, big difference when you've got 1 person and 48 hours vs 2 people and 72 hours. You got me curious about your entry though, I'll see if I can find some time to check it out. And thanks for playing, of course!

catusfelony 2025-04-20 22:17

The images piqued my interest and the game didn't disappoint, I was immediately hooked. I love the aesthetics and the brutalist architecture, made me think of Control. The ambience and the music building up really helped set the mood. Loved how the radiation was indicated by the dots appearing on the camera image. I didn't like how dark some parts were though I had to really strain to find my way around.... All in all, really great stuff, though the ending just didn't hit (but it did make me a little curious what all was going on....)

guitarbro 2025-04-21 02:03

@catusfelony Ah, sorry to hear the ending didn't resonate with you. We thought it was pretty cool, but always a bit hard to judge for this kinda game (and on a jam time budget).

Thanks for playing though!

stephenwhoskins 2025-04-23 04:07

I loved this. I gave it 5/5 across the board. Hope you make it to the top!

guitarbro 2025-04-23 04:13

@stephenwhoskins Wow Idk if we deserve that high of praise, but I really do appreciate it! Thanks for playing!

jamesdev 2025-04-23 05:57

What an impressive looking game! The gameplay was a little simple, but the lighting, sound effects, and models really sold the atmosphere!

guitarbro 2025-04-23 06:08

@jamesdev Thanks! Glad you liked the atmosphere.

nondev 2025-04-23 11:21

Had a blast. It was *quite* dark but never frustratingly so and the audio was just perfect. Great stuff.

guitarbro 2025-04-23 17:38

@nondev awesome, glad to hear it!

dock-frankenstein 2025-04-25 06:10

Would have loved to see more mechanics, because the game is mostly just a walking simulator

I liked the aesthetic and the atmosphere, but I felt like the game wasn't trying to tell us any story. It's just a bunch of liminal spaces with weird objects. The game didn't make me question what happened or where am I

Also, the game is way too dark (at least for me). A brightness option would have been much appreciated

guitarbro 2025-04-25 22:33

@dock-frankenstein yeah the mechanics were mostly just to serve the atmosphere and give you some reason to explore. That said, there are actually hints of a story here, but it definitely is subtle (and open to exact interpretation).

Thanks for checking it out though!
