Not a bad 3D platforming setup, especially for a compo. I did find it was possible to miss an ability and get soft locked in the area ahead, but overall well done submission!

The mouse movement for the camera was way too fast and I had difficulty orienting myself. It was a bit hard to estimate the input needed to do double/triple jumps. But I manage to get some colection. Congratualtions on submitting a game.
Retro vibes, takes me back! Great entry and style!
Nice simple game for your first time. The mouse controls are a bit fast for my liking as well. The cube being jelly was a nice touch. Congrats.
Awesome movement and overall vibe of the game!! My only gripe is that wall jumping was pretty difficult to figure out
Wall jump was challenging but felt good to master, i also like the texture. Just discovered, that holding Space(staying in a jump) while entering a jump-pad gives you extra height:)
@osh-studio Hadn't really tested for soft locks so I'm not surprised they exist. Had tried to make sure you could at least jump down to previous areas if something happened.
@mdotedot Sorry you didn't like the game. The mouse controls feel fine on my computer, but given differences in setups and hardware that doesn't ensure it's good on everyones. Ideally there'd be sensitivity options for that, but time limitations got in the way.
@madr That was the goal, thanks for the compliment.
@eeperdeheap I figured if the player was just going to be a cube that it should at least do some squashing and stretching. Was surprisingly easy to set up a vertex shader to get that effect.
@drikdrok The wall jumping does need an indicator to let you know when it's possible. Had briefly thought of adding some sort of particle effect, like dust being kicked up from sliding down the wall, when it was possible but ran out of time.
@crazypinguin Hadn't found that before. It does add a lot to your jump height.
Managed to collect all the McGuffins! Score.png Anyway, this was great! 3D platformers are hard to get right but I found the controls here pretty good. The wall jumping took some getting used to, and I appreciate the first wall jumping segment having no consequences for my (many) attempts to get it right, but once I did it felt great. The dash & mid air jumps were all cool too, my only nitpick is that the regular walking speed felt a bit slow compared to the dash.
The level was also well-designed, I never found myself getting lost despite the very samey platforms which I definitely appreciated. I did struggle with two sections near the end though: the one where you need to get to the top of a huge platform from underneath it and the final one. For the first it was just very unintuitive for me what I needed to do, I kept trying to climb it from the other (platformless) side which didn't work (should've screenshoted it but alas, I hope you get what I'm talking about). The final section just required a bit too much precision for my taste, since by the time I rotated the camera to look at the correct place it was too late and any jump/dash just resulted in death. I had to memorize camera movements by the end which uh, didn't feel great.
Despite that, the rest of it was really fun! Again, very good controls & level design. I also liked the little cube stretching effects and music + SFX. Overall, really good entry! And it's always nice seeing more Godot converts :)
Hi, fellow Godot dev! Honestly, for your first project, this is pretty great. The mechanics work well, and I really appreciate how you didn't go overboard with the difficulty. The main problem I had with it was the music, which I found quite grating, I'm afraid.

The controls are a bit rough, and it’s not easy to find your bearings in space, especially during wall jumps — but for a first attempt, it’s not bad at all. The sounds remind me of those old 8-bit console games from back in the day.
Was a fun little platformer. Loved how the cube expanded with the movement. Would have liked to see it squish a bit when you hit a wall as a nice little indicator when a wall jump was available. The directionality of the movement was a little weird. Not an issue generally, but made wall jumping tricky when you tried to rotate the camera about. I think flow would have been better if the cube didnt have to "turn" to face camera forward and just moved in the direction of input. Overall nicely done.
@frogman Glad you enjoyed it. There was supposed to be a slight speed increase after a dash finished if you stayed on the ground, didn't test to make sure that stayed in though. The general areas were a bit too big as well but didn't have time to go back and do a complete restructuring of the level after realizing that. One thing I had wanted to do was create templates for all the various jump distances the player could reach to make the level layout a bit easier. The under jump probably just needed a bit more guidance on where you needed to go. The last challenge is made easier when you realize that those boosters can act as trampolines, you can just keep bouncing on them giving you time to look around and orient the camera. Making the first two jumps in that sequence difficult but not too time sensitive.
@vikfx For wall jumping being such and integral part of the game it is too hard. There are tricks to make it easier, like on the first and second ones there is time to rotate the camera to the side and you can just jump left and right. The final one you access from under I found easiest to ignore the camera all together and just jump forward and backward since the camera doesn't react to the terrain at all, the main difficulty there is knowing when your avatar has stopped moving so you know you can jump again.
@bobap Would have also liked a bit more squish on the cube, unfortunately it was thrown together quickly and is all based on velocity and not acceleration. The same thrown together nature effects the camera as well.
Enjoyed this a bunch! Cool vibes, nice changing audio and the feel is quite nice too. I had to restart after missing the feather between the red spikes and being unable to go back, but this didn't break the experience for me. still had fun :)
Love how the cube moves around haha. super solid game! The last 4 mcguffins were pretty tough but i managed to get them all!
Really fun platformer! The way the character squashes and stretches with movement speed is super cool!
Really good game with solid mechanics. I like platformer games - and yours is just what I needed today playing. The controls work well as expected and I notice many little things which give us the feeling that you are skilled as a level designer. The way the cube deforms itself when it moves is a really good idea. Another game using Godot - but this one is amazing. Thank you for your review. I wish you the best ++
Quite fun platformer. Art style and the level desing are nice. I feel like the jumping is a bit too floaty though. Overall, a nice game! :D
I also missed the feather above the gap, but apart from that, well done controls and juice/squash&stretch.
Really awesome movement system! The game feels super consistent and most of the time I feel fully in control. The only thing that felt a bit weird was a sort of rotation/turnaround time in the air when trying to move away from a wall after wall-jumping, and some abrupt vertical stops when jumping sometimes. For jumps, I recommend applying an extra upward force while the space key is pressed (possibly interpolated with some tween) while keeping the velocity continuous through forces & damping. Makes things feel less abrupt and more physical. Really great work!

It was an entertaining challenge, it took me 10 minutes and 33 deaths to clear it
Pretty cool little platformer! The movement felt pretty good, although the player suddenly losing all upwards momentum after using a bounce pad was pretty jarring. It also took me a while to get used to the wall jumping. The level design was pretty cool too, but the last challenge was definitely a bit of a difficulty spike. But otherwise this is pretty solid!
