Controls worked fine for me - a nice tank on the multi-directional shooter - The turn around when you get the antidote is really nice too! Great work!

Controls worked fine for me - a nice tank on the multi-directional shooter - The turn around when you get the antidote is really nice too! Great work!
Not entirely a "game", but I like what you've done all the same - Also what is that platform!? The Pico-8 is a new one on me, a fantasy console? Sounds kinda awesome!
Says it is an invalid web file?
its a cool idea, but the hazard spawner hates all human life and wants to make us suffer :)
Called it! It was earth all along :)
Seriously though, nice plot - levels could do with a little more content, but for a 48 hour dev the game is not at all bad
Love it - a great reminder of just how good that mechanic from Monkey Island was! A very enjoyable game
I'd love to know how it actually rates the poems - I get that you are supposed to match the "style" of your rival, but I'm intrigued to know how clever the system really is...
Either way, the reason I am so fascinated is because I just played the game for about an hour - it's absolutely glorious!
Very releaxing and quite lovely really - bit slow paced for me but I recognise quality work when I see it :)
Pretty damn impressive for 48 hours - very nice!
Wasn't sure you were going to let me pick up the cars but was pleased you did
Neat - Loved the first time I hit myself - very clever!
Shame the scaling objects interact weirdly with the player - if you are stood on a box when it grows, you fall inside it
I know its kinda of the point of the game, but its a bit frustrating not being able to see the zoomed at view at any time - too much of a memory test for my tastes I think, which is a shame as I really liked the main character artwork, and the sound and visual package was very appealling
Offensive on multiple levels
I couldn't work out how to play it - I guess you just assign your dude and then wait? Seems like a mobile game?
I found this weirdly hard - too many things to keep track of at once! - seriously though this is a nice entry. Cool take on the theme, and I really DID want to know what all the fruit did
Sorry but brute-forcing the placement of the recipes is just really frustrating!
Visually stunning, but bit lacking in gameplay
Fun game - I liked the burning rope puzzle - good job on it, as a unity newcomer, you did well.
Insane - Honestly I simply can't see how that much work can get done in just 48 hours by a single person! Great visuals, amazing music, tonnes of different weapons etc... Just INSANE that you got that done in two days
Not bad for an emergency-do-over. I had fun :)
this is a long way from the worst game I've played in this jam - in fact its well above average. Graphics look great, screen shake is awesome, audio is passable... I rather enjoyed it
Quit after the second level where I had to make a "leap of faith" on a block push only to discover that ho-ho, it was a trap and I blocked the exit, time to replay that entire last puzzle. Seriously, be nicer to your players!
I like it - cool voxel graphics, and its a blast just hosing everything down with bullets - seemed to have a bit of an inverted curve, in that the game gets a lot easier the further you get, but it does feel great when you get the full "wall of death" going :)
Game is fun - there's a weird lag on the movement and I don't know if thats the webplayer acting up or just the game being a bit sticky - but either way, I had a lot of fun splatting food around
not sure I should review this as I couldn't pick anything up - the dude plays an anim as if he's going to, but he just keeps looping it and never picks the object up - it kinda looks like he's humping the furniture?
fun game - I wish it told me when my weapon runs out.
Also you are down to be judged on audio but as far as I can hear the game is silent?
Far and away my favourite game, not just of this jam, but that I've played this year - nearly perfect in every way!
A really great game - athough I assumed the coloured dots were pickups? If so they aren't working. Magic Meter is too harsh and punishes players for experimenting.
Really enjoyed the divebomb slow-mo though - and visually the game was excellent!
Very solid entry - although it doesn't really match the theme. Zooming round the sphere feels good, and there's a nice range of enemies - I also like your sneaky explosion effect which looks WAY more complex than it actually is... that's smart game development right there!
Sweet idea. I liked the sound effects, very evocative. Wish it had an autofire rather than making me rattle the space bar like a fiend :)
Amusing text adventure - Why am I high on fire ant poison?
Lovely game - Really moody with that music, and I thought the visuals had a certain charm as well. I like the core mechanic and the first "complex" puzzle with the four portals and the time rewind was pretty clever.
Unfortunately after that I got fed up of fighting with the focus on the WebGL player - Sorry!
Think "brainwashing" as the unconventional weapon is a bit of a stretch - but the game was quite fun.
Very enjoyable game - I was terrible at it though!
Very neat controls and gameplay - really enjoyed solving the "puzzle" that the ground enemies present - the way you can control their positioning to set up big combos is so satisfying. This is an excellent game and with a bit of visual spit and polish would be a great project to take forward post-LD
Nice, wish it had audio - Also not sure how it fits the theme, and feel like it might have been a design for a different theme that has been retrofitted with a "gun"
Good job - a little glitchy (fell out of the world etc) but I rather enjoyed it. "do skunk stuff" is awesome instructions :)
some nice z-brush work (I'm assuming, looks very much that way) but its a shame you couldn't get some textures or better controls in there. Good effort
I'm a total sucker for these kind of "upgrade-treadmill" games, and this was nicely done - good graphics, and solid gameplay. Nice!
I couldn't give more than 3 overall because I can't see any relation to the theme at all here.
That said, the game made me laugh like a lunatic for about 10 minutes solid, to the point where my wife came in and wanted to know what had happened - The physics in this game are HILARIOUS!
So good! Like, I want to make lots of suggestions on balance and how the mechanics explain themselves to the player, but as I've spent most of today trying to find nice things to say about really pretty crappy efforts, the fact that I immediately want to start redesigning your game like a professional effort speaks volumes about its quality - amazing stuff!
The movement is kinda fun, and the tongue attack is nice. It's just a bit overwhelming - seems like you had enough mechanics in there to make several levels, and you just threw them all into one level - it's a bit much to take in
It's kind of awesome that the screenshot doesn't give the actual gameplay away - made me laugh out loud when I saw it.
I mean, sure, it's not going to win awards for awesome game design, but you know what, I kinda enjoyed it! Nice artwork too!
Very cool! Bit Thomas was Alone, bit Swapper, but a very neat mechanic. Once I figured out you didn't have to be touching the little block to recall it, was a lot of fun.
Enjoyed this a lot, thanks - as someone else said, excellent player feedback systems - there is a clear outcome to everything
The idea is actually pretty good but the time limit and fail state make it too frustrating to play, really. Nice effort and I think the core gameplay could be a lot of fun, but what is the time limit and the "back to the start" actually adding to the game?
Pretty good - sweet music, good graphics, and a cool idea. The gameplay is a bit simple, and I found showing the directions with the keyboard icons actually made it harder to read them than if you were just flashing arrows, but still - a cool game. Really like the "vibe", very intense and awesome.
Nice parody
it's hard as nails, but also very funny - I like the weapon and the game made me smile many times. Nice work!
Sorry, way too hard to play - the ladders are glitchy and broken
Amusing take on the theme - has a flappy-bird addictiveness to it, but the game likes to spawn impossible walls of obstacles a but too often. Great music!
I certainly don't mind getting down to a bit of IF when the mood takes me, and this was a nicely constructed, dark and moody piece.
Enjoyed it a lot - Some of the level design was a bit mean, but it was a solid experience
nice first attempt - got everything working and the game is playable, so good job there! As you already said in the comments, the game did need more actual "gameplay" but still, you got it working and thats half the battle.
Like the music a lot - really nice. Also the animation on the wheelchairs is strangely pleasing to watch - good job!
Timer seems super harsh, especially when the restart loop has unskippable cutscenes in it :)
Nice idea for a game though, and I dug the stick figure animations dancing - Reminded me a lonely Island song
very nice game - enjoyed the chunky retro pixels and the gameplay was deeper than I expected with the interplay between the enemy types. Nice
Kinda fun - slingshot felt a bit underpowered in terms of actual launching force, but is certainly killed a lot of the.. erm.. people attacking the castle.
Enjoyed the art style too - a fun and simple game
Loved this so much - got totally stuck on screen 9 or 10 (can't remember) but up until then it was really really fun. A great mechanic, but I was sad to lose my snake gun!
Nice! Had fun with it - seems unfair when it chucks a super-long word at you and it basically does the same thing as a shorter word it could have chosen?
Voice over is great - and I like the visual style. Is there some kind of full-screen effect being used? It seems to have a cool grainy quality that really works well.
Is it possible to win? Cos I did not manage that :)
So it won't surprise you to see Hotline Miami mentioned in the comments - but as HL:M is an awesome game, and you made a reasonable version of it in 3 days, good job!
Man, Dinosaurs are SLOW!
Like the idea for the game - a kind of RPG battles thing. Nice artwork on the dinosaurs too.
Not really my tastes in humor, but you commited to the concept well and I thought the enemy designs (the umbrella dudes) were pretty clever.
kinda neat - I enjoyed the different spells a lot, but wished I could select them with the numberpad keys!
its a decent effort, but the lack of player feedback really hurts it in the end. Explosions, particles, even just a cartoon "splat" on the hits would really improve the feel
A great first effort - bit simple and repetitive in the long run, but everything works pretty nicely, and rolling the useless king around made me laugh.
I don't understand what I'm supposed to do? I click on the monsters and random factorials appear - but what next?
Wow - that's a lovely experience you guys have built there. I wish it was a little longer, as the stealth gameplay was nice, and the trade-off with shooting enemies and losing pixels could be a nice balance between instant-fail stealth and making the player not just run and gun the levels. Great idea!
Also, that music! It feels like its building to something awesome but I guess it never gets there, but wow - talk about atmospheric! the volume swell in the final third of the loop is AMAZING!
Obviously leaves a little to be desired visually, but a thoroughly enjoyable puzzle game - completed it and would probably have gone for hours more if the levels hadn't run out... really great!
For such a simple game, I was suprised how much I enjoyed this - mostly I think because of the awesome music - really cool to hear some real musicianship after so many bleeps and bloops :)
I think I would really enjoy a more fleshed-out version of this - cool idea! I wanted a little more involvement during the "combat" system though - even just a timing mechanic or choosing whether to use some super-resource would be good.
Cute little tower defence - shame about the pathfinding bug, it seems to happen a lot.
Couldn't play it - none of the controls seemed to work :(
cute idea - like the blank stare in the slow falling animation, which made me laugh a lot :)
Might be my favourite entry from the Jam - really unique gameplay, very simple, but very compulsive - great audio, solid visuals, good music; the complete package!
A lovely, relaxing kind of atmosphere - which is slightly at odds with what is actually a very challenging physics game. Man does it ever look pretty though, and I like that even though the main character is constrained to 2D movement, the enemy movements still make use of the third axis - really excellent work all around
Excellent game - played it for nearly an hour - the purple king is a pain to kill!
sorry man, I'm pretty loose with what I install, bypassing all the dire warnings that pop up, but this triggered all of them and THEN asked for permission to make changes to my computer set-up - bailed
A fun plate-spinning style game. It looks like a sim style game but really its more of an arcade experience in the end, as you just keep clicking to try and keep all your planets topped up all the time.
I enjoyed it a lot - thanks :)
lovely chilled out vibe to this that I'm really digging - esp with that excellent music playing. Agree with other reviewers about needing to switch to the mouse every time you throw a piece of poetry - other than that, a neat game.
Oh, and the main characters walk cycle anim is great!
Nice little - I like the crazy physics, teleporting into a pile of boxes and sending them flying was cool! - Sounds are WAY too loud though. Painful for headphones users.
Also sending the player back to the start after every death is really harsh
No sound was a shame, because that aside this is a very very good game!
I really like the idea and its the kind of game I would definitely enjoy, but man oh man is it hard to play! I think you should let the player land one plane before you hit them with the double-plane scenario, just to let them find their feet a bit!
Rotating portraits were hilarious - you really get the sense of the pilots panicking, upside down, as air traffic control continues to be a d*ck about it :)
I'm sad that I never got to see "here's Johnny" but the other moves are cool - wish the jury fought back a little harder, but the theme and the mechanics are both really funny
What a lovely little game - bonking the enemies on the head with the brolly felt great. Lovely lovely game!
Want more levels!
True story about the game being too easy - it was, until 10 minutes before submission deadline, really, REALLY hard... the I halved the spawning rate on the enemies to test something, and erm... yeah, forgot to put it back :)
Really sorry about the playmaker error people are getting - honestly I've NEVER seen it so I can't really fix it - it sounds like the game is perfectly playable, so its probably just some weird bit of Unity nonsense - If anyone can send me a grab of the error, that would be fantastic as then I can at least have a look at what might be causing it
Interesting idea - took me a while to figure out the "batter" machine, mostly because it looks like a "bitter" machine :)
A nice idea, but a bit undercooked in the implementation - its not explained to the player that the "addicts" eventually stop chasing you if you just keep them in the bubble. Felt like I spent a lot of time just waiting for random movements to put people where I needed them - maybe they should move around more when they are cut, trying to get their signal back?
The fire is WAY too small - seems like it could have had much more generous collision and the game would instantly be a lot more fun. I like the concept though - maybe more fires so you aren't just constantly orbiting a central point?
Super polished feel - this is virtually a professional game release. Very very nice.
First time entrant? Wow. Don't play my game, I am now ashamed of how little I got done - that is a really fun and solid shooter you have made, and I played it for a while before I died, so I don't know how many more screens you built - great job!!
Good job - I always dread playing Ludum Dare games with car controls because they are usually implemented pretty badly, but your car drives really nicely, and the skidmarks are a really cool touch.
338 mb is a HEFTY download!
I like the cat, but the game is... well - it's a bit simple
Nice game - interesting core mechanic, and lots of nice touches.
Game could have used a little more polish - the movement was a bit weird and you tended to leave your engine trail behind if you move too quickly. Also a player death sequence would have been nice as when you have swords equipped you sometimes don't really know if you killed an opponent or they killed you.
Enjoyed it though - Was fun stabbing up the enemy ships :)
Indigo is a colour, but not in this game - Its a nice effort, and I like the idea of it a lot, but the interface is so clunky. I know that's partly deliberate to put the player under pressure, but it makes failure feel quite frustrating.
Nice effort though, and I laughed at the "enemy" :)
Not entirely a game, but definitely an amusing five minutes - good job man, I bet you learned a lot :)
The good: The model of the gun is excellent, and for 20 hours work, it's pretty neat. I broke the game by just standing in a corner and spamming fire - Shame it didn't have any music
Nice, enjoyed it - agree with commentors who say it would be better if it ramped up quicker.
Also, I hit FIVE BAD JOKES IN A ROW - How unlucky am I? I know its "truly" random but honestly I would probably have fiddled the probabilities so that a bad joke reduces the odds of a bad joke next time.
yeah keyboard controls basically don't work (shoot and melee not responding) - but I killed a bunch of dudes by jumping on their heads, so that works. Cool game!
A really cool idea for a game - I couldn't really figure out the difference between the different "attacks", or if there even is one? Reply seemed to always do way more damage than anything else?
Regardless, a really cool idea done really well :)
Attack is a little sluggish, but not bad for a first time entry - if you are using WASD for controls, W could be jump rather than Spacebar
I think we have both recently watched the same Vlambeer presentation - and you made excellent use of some of the advice - the screen shake and corpses piling up really make it strangely satisfying to mash the bunnies :)
Amazing music, and a cool game - but so, so hard - I think you basically have to be a musician to play this :)
More games need to contain the phrase "as a ninja, and also as a parent" - made me laugh out loud :)
Nice little platform shooter - agree with other posters about the jump being a bit weird when you hit the top of the screen - but enjoyed it over all
Got a crash after reviewing Predestination - but what a marvellous game - thought provoking and, I suspect, worryingly accurate - my favourite game of the jam so far by no small margin
