Looks pretty cool man!! I would give people the chance to invert their Mouse Y. I only play right-side up and can imagine that others have that some preference. Also, the general character controller for unity is awesome but can be a bit clunky at times. But other than that. really cool!!

ender7 2018-12-04 01:58

Really fun game, gets very tense when all you can hear is enemy lasers firing.

As another comment has said the ability to switch your y-inversion for the turret would be a nice touch

great-bobleny 2018-12-04 03:30

Two Untity Developers and no web version?

Looks really cool though.

2018-12-04 09:02

Fun and dynamic. Really enjoyable game with a lot of co-op potential. There is room for improvements, such as oxygen view screen while in turret mode or cross-targeting for shooting, but the gameplay is nice and engaging.

eva 2018-12-04 09:16

Fun game! Had trouble aiming, the cursor was in the wrong spot while using the turret.

justcamh 2018-12-04 09:24

Quite a unique gameplay experience that has you pulling apart anything you can find! The character controller is a bit jittery and moving around doesn't feel smooth. It is also strange that half of the game operates on normal vertical movement, and the aiming is inverted. It makes it feel very uncomfortable to use! The soundtrack and art were all on fleek and set up a nice mood. My main issue with the game is that I don't feel any sense of direction. What should I be doing? Whilst a goal is set (surviving), I don't fully know the best way to go about this, and in a large, modular world, there is plenty of things I could do. Should I be manning the turrets? Dismantling? Repairing? Or is there some sort of important device that I missed? To help with this, there could have been ramped difficulty, levels or waves. Maybe a quick tutorial teaching the player how to man the different elements of the ship. In such a complex environment, I don't think that simply stating the controls is enough info!

Otherwise though, this is a great game, and after multiple attempts, I got somewhere, but ultimately had the hull damaged without realising. Great game, keep developing!

olavdeng2 2018-12-04 09:43

I love the idea, it is similar in idea to my game, so of course i will love it :P you did take a somewhat different approach to it, which honestly i think is better than my approach. However, the controls could be better. It feels clunky to move around due to the bobbing and the turret having inverted mouse all of a sudden was jarring to me, id prefer an option to change that, but considering the time, i wont mark you negatively for that. Also, a note on the turret. it doesn't seem that you are shooting where you are aiming which makes the shooting difficult. Other than that however, i do say good job guys! Fun game, good concept, just needs a little bit more work but well done for just a weekend!

skyridge 2018-12-04 10:14

Good idea and good graphism ^^

2018-12-04 10:40

I really liked the game. The dynamics of the game on the high point, a good idea with a weapon. For the first time I meet the game in which you need to disassemble your ship to survive. The developers are great))

sanyingli 2018-12-04 11:25

The game has a nice idea and good graphic. If there is more hints let player know what's going on(like some UI tells how much oxygen left when shooting) would make this game even better.

captaincorgistan 2018-12-04 11:43

Yeah, we realize that, but too late! Thanks for feedback!

cipery 2018-12-04 14:55

Fun, fast paced, funny that you can actually disassemble your own ship (I mean walls etc) and modules.

Good job!

timothy-tarter 2018-12-04 15:13

Fun game, but these aim controls don't work.... Also, an oxygen bar would be nice.

mercilesscult 2018-12-04 15:19

Already said but yes, something that tells how much oxygen we have left will be nice. Otherwise it's relly fun, I played it a few times, got better everytime, so I just wanted to play more, pretty impressive for a jam. Good work!

oceanosaurus 2018-12-04 15:26

Good job! I think you understood the theme better than anyone by sacrificing your ship to defend it. It's a hard game but I've enjoyed playing it.

me-fame-u-game 2018-12-04 16:16

A bit unsure what is what, what you can disassemble and what is necessary would be nice, but never the less good game!

odlog-oglog 2018-12-04 17:45

The first thing i thought when i played this game was "How the hell the did that in such a short time?! " , the game is really polished and finished and takes the theme to another level. very good job

captaincorgistan 2018-12-04 21:35

@oceanosaurus @mercilesscult @odlog-oglog Thanks for those words folks, your feedback is very important to us!

jannick-larsen 2018-12-04 21:40

great game! and the simple graphics aren't as simple as they look

2016mcook 2018-12-04 22:11

I thorouhgly enjoyed experiencing your game. I appreciate the level of detail you put into it. One of the more fun games I have come across on the Ludum Dare Jam. Keep up the good work. My only complaint that I played on Normal and it felt like the time was taking forever, at about 200s left I started to get bored.

captaincorgistan 2018-12-04 23:08

@jdelaay025johnd1788 @ender7 @justcamh @timothy-tarter Thanx for helping us find those bug, don't really know how we didn't find it after release!

Anyway, we put some fix in game: - Fixed the bug with targeting in turret mode. Now the projectile hits the cross properly. - Fixed the bug with inverted controls in turret mode.

elemental-zeal-game-studios 2018-12-05 03:47

Really nice entry, reminded me of a take on FTL which is always a good comparison to have, while still fitting the theme. Nicely done. :)

rodrigo-grego 2018-12-05 10:29

Congratulations!

frog5tar 2018-12-05 12:01

Nice game enjoyed it only thing I had an issue with is found the boxes got in the way (Yes I know you pick them up) but if your Inv Thing is full you can't :) Anyways good game and had fun

tymus 2018-12-05 12:02

Just played it, it's super cool, I feel like some UI with oxygen/timer could make the goal a bit clearer but overall it's a super experience, loved the fact that I could remove walls, arrange the ship as I wanted. Well done :D

sadzanenyama 2018-12-05 12:09

I was getting low FPS for some reason, don't think it was because of my computer. This is just personal preference but I would like if the disassembling gun thing would follow you on the y axis also as it just feels a little weird for it not to. Also maybe I 'm just bad at aiming but a few times it really felt like my bullets were going straight through the enemy ships. Very cool concept!

ehwalt-johann 2018-12-05 12:52

Great game, Love the dismantle gameplay to survive. it gets really hard at a time :p I would love to ear more sounds in the game

alexey-cherkasov 2018-12-05 12:56

Very atmospheric game! I'm surprised that you did it in 3 days! The game is totally completed and I don't know that else to add to gameplay :)

captaincorgistan 2018-12-05 13:02

@tymus @ehwalt-johann @alexey-cherkasov thanx folks! Your feedback means a lot to us!

captaincorgistan 2018-12-05 13:04

@sadzanenyama did u play spacebrawl1.02. version? Cause it looks like bug that we fixed: - Fixed the bug with targeting in turret mode. Now the projectile hits the cross properly. - Fixed the bug with inverted controls in turret mode.

xenoxygene 2018-12-05 15:07

Damn this game is so cool! Fits the theme 100%!

arvejeitor 2018-12-05 15:53

Very nice game, i'm amazed you did this only in 72hs. The turret gun reminds me a lot to the nailgun of the first Quake xD

kamen-kitanov 2018-12-05 16:14

Quite fun and fits the theme pretty well. Feedback: - Enemy variety was great, especially considering the short amount of dev time. - There is a bug where you could continuously sacrifice the same thing over and over and it gives you more energy to shoot. It also applies to when the enemy destroys the hull - you could first "disintegrate" the already destroyed hull before replacing it so that you don't lose any energy. - There is a jump in the game, but it doesn't seem to be useful for anything. One simple idea is to make all those crates that you have be more responsive to being shot at - make them move and jump around - make them get in your way. - When I saw that you could disintegrate the "gravity stabilizer" or whatever I immediately thought: "Wouldn't it be cool if removing it would cause zero gravity and then you have to float around. Bonus points if the enemy can destroy it so you have one additional environmental factor (in addition to oxygen) to deal with. - Retry screen doesn't say what key to press to restart. You also have to alt-f4 to quit. - Turret mode doesn't show how much energy you have. In general I was confused when I died due to oxygen loss. - Graphics were pretty good! I especially liked the enemies with the flare/lights on.

Congrats, very nice game!

sobakaduka 2018-12-05 18:26

@kamen-kitanov Thanks for your feedback! You are right, we indeed have this bug! Can you imagine, we've spend 3 days of constant testing/developing and didn't notice such obvious mistake! :D

rugbug-redfern 2018-12-06 00:58

This game is amazing! The graphics were good, it greatly supports the theme. I've sunk quite a lot of time in! One of the best games I've seen in this jam :D I loved the constant running back and forth to repair the hull, shoot at enemies, and destroy useless stuff

2018-12-06 06:45

I think I like this game :) This is quite amazing! :D

gri-bel 2018-12-06 10:13

Amazing game with cool graphics!)

designernap 2018-12-06 10:44

Nice entry. I think the need to try each turret detracts somewhat from the core experience. If a Turret has an enemy in range, it could glow or at least light up and if a Turret cant see an enemy, it could have an indicator saying "Out of range" or something. Otherwise, great entry, great visuals and audio!

nightvision65 2018-12-06 13:45

I like this game. Great graphics and audio, and the game experience is amazing.

I think the UI can be improved. But anyway, Great job!

sickybricky 2018-12-07 09:45

Looks cool. Doesn't run the best, but it's fun to play!

jk5000 2018-12-07 12:51

Overall is this a fine LD game, with some interesting visuals. Sadly for me the difficulty was way too high, even on easy.

kirke 2018-12-07 17:56

Wow! Your game resemble me Portal! I love Portal! So your game is pretty cool for me! I really like concept of repairing the ship! Movement of player is so smooth, what makes gameplay enjoyable! And this shooting was so fun! Good job! :D

2018-12-09 14:06

Nice idea!

koala-squad 2018-12-15 17:45

Alright, here's my thoughts:

You nailed fun. The frenetic, multilayered mechanics were really interesting to play, and very engaging. There were, of course, minor issues here and there (make the ship smaller and the rounds shorter!), but it was still a good experience! My rating: 5 stars.

Nice, innovative game! My rating: 5 stars.

Fits well with the theme and uses a significantly less generic interpretation of it! Great job! My rating: 5 stars.

The art looks quite nice, with the space aesthetic fitting well with the presented art. However, there is a major issue. Almost everything uses the exact same colors. This might not seem like a big deal until you try navigating the ship at full speed on the hardest difficulty. You see, it would be great if the important objects like turrets, crates, generators, etc. were color coded. It would make the ship so much easier to navigate and would allow the player to tell at a glance what machine he is looking at. Currently, it takes more thought to distinguish objects, because the only differentiating factor is the shape. My rating: 4.5 stars.

The mood is pretty well done, but I never really found myself immersed in the game. Maybe it was because the ships outside felt like they were programmed for galaga, or maybe it was because the fighting mechanics seemed so out of touch with reality or out of place, or maybe it was because the oxygen drained without any visible or physical indicators, and it drained incredibly fast, but something about the entire game just kept me from feeling like a part of the character I was playing as. However, the audio and graphics do set the tone somewhat well, and the frantic pace has its own mood separate from the serious one the game presents. My rating: 4 stars.

Overall, this is a quite nice entry, with good audio and a very nice, innovative interpretation of the theme. It was incredibly fun, and while it did have some substantial issues, it made up for them enough to keep me playing it longer than any other entry yet (although maybe this was because of the artificially long timer and huge ship). My rating: 4.5 stars.

unidaystudio 2018-12-22 01:48

Your game reminds me Portal A LOT! Very interesting concept and great graphics. Well done, congratulations!
