I keep getting a black screen... Stupid Intel HD card :(

I keep getting a black screen... Stupid Intel HD card :(
Wrapping your head around the time mechanic takes a bit of, well, time, but it's a lot of fun just figuring it out. Great graphics and sound too. I do echo the comments that the aiming could be clearer.
An honest to goodness "sleuthing" game - very nice, and quite an original take on the theme!
My kittens keep flying into space! How can I feed them when they fly off without me! :(
Fun silly game :)
Great gameplay mechanic, very well done with the theme!
Got the same problem (and computer setup, no surprisingly) as Jajay :(. So all I can really say is that the sprites look nice and that the concept sounds good.
It's like a real-time version of Gobliins. It's a bit hard to figure out how to plan everything, but I almost solved the puzzle I think...
I managed to piss off the bull, now to get the potato.
First laugh out loud game I've played so far - fantastically silly writing.
Also, one hilarious bug/feature: walk to the left into the door, jump up.
I echo what the other said: the controls felt too floaty, but the gameplay idea has potential. Try and tweak it for a non-compo version, I'd love to give a more polished version another try!
I'd love to give this a try, but I think your version of GameMaker doesn't play nice with either Window 8 or my Intel HD card, so all the spirtes seem glitch out and it doesn't really start :(
Sound design sounds nice though, for the little part that I can hear of it :).
Rage inducing frustratingly challenging controls. But losing is fun, so it's a quality in itself. :)
It works really well with a touchpad too.
Great polish all around. The soundtrack is especially nice!
The atmosphere is fantastic, pace feels a bit sluggish (even when taking into account that this is a "slow" relaxed game) but otherwise the gameplay is fun, and the mechanic is cool too, although it would be fun if I could possess more things (like the trees of the scenery, just to make the leaves rustle a bit for example).
===== SPOILERS =======
Love how you fall off into an infinite void if you try to walk towards the end.
Adorable graphics, simple to control. Overal a very fun little puzzle game :)
Yeah, sorry guys. Watch the video for a clearer explanation. Next time, when I hopefully have more time, I'll make an in-game tutorial.
Just edited the description, hopefully it's easier to follow now.
@raincole: your avatar is oddly fitting for your comment :D
@Zuige: funny you should mention that, the original gesture code was an experiment for the Leap Motion! :D Since I already have some code ready I could easily add LM controls I think (but didn't think of it nor had time yesterday). Will upload it once the voting window is over (as to not break the compo rules).
@Spotline: Thank you for the compliment! I admit that it takes a while to get into the "zen" of it. It helps if you ignore the scoring and how many spare gestures you have at first, and just focus on gestures and sorting.
@everyone who bothers to comment: the feedback is greatly appreciated! I'll be sure you give your games a try once I can listen to the audio (in the train right now, don't want to bother the other passengers).
@Dew/Dining Philosopher: sorry, I like bright intense colours. Must be the African heritage ;). But I'm working on a "Super Sort It Out!" with more gameplay modes, proper tutorial and the option to change colours.
DesignerNap: Sorry it's not your kind of game, thanks for taking the time to try it! For some, like Zuige, panurge, Dew and me, mastering the frustrating interface is part of the fun, but I can easily see why it's not for everyone.
Jezus Christ this game is terrifying in its abstraction. Great entry!
I second what dom2d said - great work. The ten second limit is both a fun addition and a huge stressfactor :D
I want to try it out but it refuses to run... Win 8 64 bit. I have Love2d installed.
Hmm.. wait, I'll try compiling it myself :)
Ok, got it to run but I wonder if the timer resets properly.. maybe adding a counter would have helped?
I love sandbox games. Great little coffeebreak challenge.
PS: 120. Tip: inverted pyramid.
Sorry, don't have android. Would have tried your game otherwise!
If it's in LUA, you might be able to port it to Love2D? I think rewriting purely for porting purposes is still acceptable within compo rules.
Short and sweet :)
Love the sound, graphics are so-so but not jarring - like the exhaust effect in particular though, and the way the sentry moved gave it a real sense of weight so that's pretty well done. Plus, the ending was very cute.
Also, great controls - just the right amount of accelleration, inertia and stuff to not be frustrating, but still challenging to control. As far as "lander" type games go, that's pretty hard to get right in my experience, so great job there!
Adorable graphics and fun music, great little "button mashing" RPG.
My absolute favourite of the compo so far (followed by gone in ten seconds).
Can't vote, because not participating, but great work Thomas! :)
Just discovered that if an arrow hits you head-on, you can still burn it off for 2 points. Nice.
Don't listen to kgabis - balancing aiming and moving while they work against each other is part of the fun!
