Just wanted to post and say sorry to hear it didn't work out. I have had many Jams fall apart in the closing hours and it is always frustrating. Hang in there and best of luck with your future creations!

The demo even thought not finished looks quite nice. I played it for a bit and it really shows that you put a lot of effort in it.
good game
@designernap @zyppi thank you for the kind words :)
Honest review: You did exactly what jams are about and you set out to make a game in 72 short hours. The concept is really cool and like someone else said it looks nice and the effort is shown. The main thing about these jams is to have fun and learn along the way. I hope you do create more to this game. I liked sailing around and shooting for no reason. The feel is definitely there. Keep it up!
remember its about the journey! what you learned and experienced is far more important than the “finished” product in a game jam. keep on trucking and good luck!
This looks like it's been really polished, really looking forward to what you'll do with a "finished" version ! The game feel already feels great, I cannot wait to see what you guys have in store !
@cam-moore @firuti @neon-kuroasa thank you all :)
Completing the game in time was optional from the start, but just really wanted to do it. The whole game is also experiment for even a bigger game I make and a great deal of knowledge was already extracted from it so that's a definite plus. No regrets!
I do hope you will all try the final version once it's out. I will be publishing the game on itch.io in web build :)
What's there is already a nice proof of concept! Had some performance issues on my side, and I'd say definitely add a control scheme in the description so people can better test what you've uploaded! Keep it up!
Hey man, don't stress out about completing the game. You got to a level of polish most participants don't get to, I'm glad you found a cool concept to build further :)
congrats for putting on time in this project !!! Keep going dude and try my game if you got time x)
@swaglazio Thanks, I will play games of all who commented here, but a bit later :)
cool!
Pretty hard to understand where to go at first. The mood is good tho !
My laptop struggeled to run this game but the ideas are very nice, although some kind of tutorial would not hurt as I was really confused at the start. Looking forward to the finished more polished game if you ever want to do that. Good job
I am so excited to play the post-jam release that you make. Please ping me when you do so!!
Cool concept! ~~(I see pirate game, I'm in haha)~~
Collected some stuff and got to the end of the jam version :)

Ship travel mostly feels good. Steering the ship in tight spaces can be a bit tricky sometimes. I tried reducing the speed at first but then it would take me a tad too long to get away from reefs. (I got to see the bottom of the ocean a lot haha)
Surprisingly, I got the best results when I tried maneuvering at full speed. Still a bit tricky but I managed to get to the end.
I'm looking forward to this project's future :) ~~(Gimme all the pirate games)~~
Meanwhile, this concept is something you can definitely be proud of!
@sockenpuppe Thanks for completing the game and kind words :)
Steering is supposed to be harder on lower speeds, it works the same with ships IRL :)
Anchor dropping is actually the best way to steer your ship quickly. I secretly call it "Anchor Drift" And in the final version you can drop anchor to left and right side, but it will be released only in a few weeks.
~~There is definitely no big pirate game I'm making~~
That felt like the skeleton of a complete game. It seems you got most of the mechanics and main elements in but left out the content, although to be fair it was about as engaging as Skull and Bones.
I'd definitely like to see a more developed version of this as I could so how fun a pirate game like this could be. There aren't a lot of good pirate games anymore and I remember being very disappointed with Port Royale 4 and wishing for something more engaging even if its on a smaller scale.
The art, music and presentation were well done.
I love the UI and graphics, they feel really polished and make me wish it was more complete. The whole aesthetic of the game is great!
Controlling the boat took some getting used to because of how slow it moves, but it wasn't too hard. I managed to make it past the final winding section at least. I think it might be hard to win a sea battle with it though.
I know it's incomplete, but what's there looks promising, and I look forward to seeing how it turns out!
By the way, what engine did you use to make the game? I tried running it on Linux through wine, but it failed because it needed to install Microsoft Edge runtime (there's probably a way to make it work, but I just switched to a Windows machine)
@skleembof ngl Skull and Bones comparison gave me a bit of a roast, but it' as a describe the jam version pretty much xD
@ale I used Construct 3. When full version is out it will include Web and Linux build.
This game will be updated and there will be all the content I've planned. It's merely a quick practice though for a much bigger pirate game of my dreams that I wanted to make for an incredibly long time now and I will set out to make it happen as soon as I am done here.
Thank ya'll for the kind words :)
I know it's still work-in-progress but I really liked what you have so far. The controls are intuitive, shooting feels impactful, and art style is on-point. It reminded me a bit of the game Sunless Skies (a very good game with top down "naval" combat).
Excited to see where this goes!
@daniel-alhadeff "Sunless Sea" by the same developer is actually one of the references I have for the TBA pirate game :)
Didn't check out Skies yet tho. Thanks!
Wow! The collection system is crazy for a game jam.
Definitely a lot going on here, can feel the ambition really bursting at the seams for this jam game. Like others have said, there's a lot that would feel really cool in a more developed title. The combat/shooting for the ship feels really fun and tactile already though. The map is a bit confusing and it took me a little bit to realize it was worth stopping to pick stuff up at most anchor points, but still really good stuff for a LD jam!
The concept is really cool shooting feels impactful, and art style is on-point.
Good stuff! Art and music is great!
Great game, nice matching with theme, keep going
Nice game, good job!
I liked controlling the ship, you did a good job, there wasn't enough time for a full version, but just a game where you need to skillfully sail a ship is also very cool, I was able to swim to the end, although not the first time, the game pretty:)
Playing on Linux via Wine!
(What engine is this made in? Seems like it's asking me to download "Microsoft Edge Webview2 Runtime"...)
(Welp, it turned out to be all white... I should've expected this, probably.)

Skipping rating due to not being able to play the game; sorry!
@steffo Construct 3. Web & Linux builds will only be available in the final version.
Amazing project
poor jam??? I say the jam version of this game could already beat various other submissions! The steering control is so smooth and the overall graphic is super attracting! Great work!
Good game 0-0
the jam version of the game is pretty empty but it has potential, i liked the water physics and the ship control
Wow! The game is so wonderfull and humoristic! I went through it completely and I can play this 10 hours straihgt! Keep making games!
Although this only being a cut down version, i still had a lot of fun exploring. I think the core gameplay is well designed, and for a jam of 4 days, this still contains lot of content. I would definetely play a fully fletched out version of this, there is a lot of potential. Great job overall, I enjoyed my playthrough a lot, especially because of the generally relaxing ambiance :)
I liked it, you managed to convey the atmosphere of the sea! The inertia of the ship feels close to how I imagine controlling the ship)) What you can do at anchor deserves a like))
