melatonin | SpaceLab 42 | wassim zak-zeddam-zakaria aymen-hamzaoui rahim-pxr | ♥ 16 | Hi Jana Games Studios! I'd like to bring up something unfortunate I found: It looks like one of your teammates (@rahim-pxr) has been copy-pasting generic comments on peoples games. For example, he copy-pasted "Nice game, I hope to see more updates and improvments sooner. If you don’t bother take a look at our game when we focused on Graphics and visuals and see the results that we got: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/spacelab-42" On these four games: [1](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/running-out-of-space-25) [2](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/the-infinite-hotel) [3](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/tomb-robbers-3-curse-of-the-pharaoh) [4](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/toroid) and copy-pasted this comment "Nice game, Love how everything is balanced! Good luck, Don’t forget to take a look at ours if you don’t mind and see what it’s like when we just focused on graphics in this game jam! Game Link: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/spacelab-42" On these 7 games [1](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/duo-dungeon) [2](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/shrunkeon-dungeon) [3](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/second-game-for-us-have-fun) [4](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/puzzle-out-vr) [5](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/finger-noodles) [6](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/the-espacito) [7](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/eclipse-galaxy-a-smuggler-story) I'm not trying to start a fight, but to everyone who participates in Ludum Dare, getting MEANINGFUL feedback is one of the most important things. Many of us are hobbyist devs who don't get a lot of exposure, and ludum dare is one of the few ways we get a ton of meaningful feedback. I encourage you, @rahim-pxr, to go back through the games you've rated and commented, and re-do the ones you feel you have not been honest with.

Astonishing | SpaceLab 42 | wassim zak-zeddam-zakaria aymen-hamzaoui rahim-pxr | ♥ 15 | - Stolen graphics. (Assets from Unity store, textures, models etc.) - Stolen audio. (Music, sound effects, everything is stolen.) - Stolen intro/menu. (After Effects template. The first hit when googling "After effects space") - Stolen trailer effects. - Zero gameplay. (You know this is a game jam right?) - Didn't opt-out of any category. Didn't give ANY credits. Right out cheating. (Oh and the one element you did create, the oxygen tube? You forgot to add smooth shading.) Disgraceful contribution. Should be disqualified. @iluvatar You're kidding right?
cenullum | Hoarder Disorder | rebdc | ♥ 14 | I really like it, may you should decrease the size of camera
cenullum | Djabo | thomas-olsson ghaythche ryofougere2 | ♥ 13 | seems the artist of your team took it serious. nice arts for a jam :D
cenullum | Smelly Corp. | klerembot | ♥ 13 | it took 10 minutes to figure out the controls. you should make a little tutorial. but cool game
cenullum | Espace | lomikstik nishinoya | ♥ 12 | my game's name is also escape :D
cenullum | Escape | teelin | ♥ 12 | wow we have same name games :d I like the game, and the concept

HTMichaeL | Hoarder Disorder | rebdc | ♥ 11 | Was alright. Music was a bit repetative
bovandenberg | Hoarder Disorder | rebdc | ♥ 11 | the music
Memel06 | Will Survive | foxserranu thomas-lessa inudenis kleber | ♥ 11 | So, let's start. Graphics are incredibly polished. Awesome animation and pixelart, as well as the introductive drawings. The halo effect on loading bar and the pixel font are absolute aestethism. Sound effects are nice, but music is something repetitive and it breaks the mood (I was expecting some of dark and moody rather than a piano loop) The gameplay mechanic is fairly simple, and after a bit it becomes flat, but it's ok for a jam game. The theme is fitted with the game idea. THINGS THIS GAME NEEDS 1. A pause button 2. Actually spot the enemy that are lurking in the darkness (even some evil eyes) 3. A little variation to gameplay (maybe collect apples and eat or cook, or take water from a lake and boil it to drink) 4. An exit button on the win screen (i was stucked and I needed to ALT+F4) In the overall this is a pretty nice game, surely a 4 star overall. Have a nice day! ohyea.png
ThibaultAr | Escape | teelin | ♥ 10 | Except controls as I'm on an AZERTY keyboard 😅 , this game is really nice ! The escape game concept combine to a water that is going up is a really good idea 😃 nice entry guys :)
Zlabya | Smelly Corp. | klerembot | ♥ 9 | seems like hard to control the character for me, it goes down and can't move up.
aevek | SpaceLab 42 | wassim zak-zeddam-zakaria aymen-hamzaoui rahim-pxr | ♥ 9 | @wassim In that section of the rules that _you_ highlighted, it asks that you opt out of voting for categories that your team did not create the assets for in the time. You are right that you are permitted to use the assets, but using licensed art or audio and competing in those categories against people who created it during the time is simply not fair. That is why the text that you specifically called out above asks you to opt out of those categories. People have asked you repeatedly on this page to opt out of those categories, and it seems like you don't understand why. Hopefully that explanation helps. For anyone keeping score: - Main menu background is from this tutorial https://www.google.com/url?q=https://www.premiumbeat.com/blog/after-effects-video-tutorial-texturized-space-scene/&sa=D&source=hangouts&ust=1535602773885000&usg=AFQjCNES74eKh68VUqlQIqAM20Fv_bmY5Q - Space ship at the end of the game is from the asset store https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/3d/vehicles/space/spaceship-falcon-1874-xb-54816 - Level materials misused and therefore likely not created by the team (Yellow floor piece looks like it should be UV mapped, everything has quite strange tiling, and the materials that I'm guessing are licensed don't match the only asset in game that looks like it was made by the team [the fire extinguisher/oxygen bottle thing]) Mine was another game that received a copy-paste comment from a member of your team, and I agree with what @melatonin said about meaningful feedback. That kind of behavior feels like a very selfish use of a system intended to give everyone good advice and comments on their games. Notice that every comment on your game specifically talks about it, that's what the system is for. You might be used to parts of the internet where anonymous trolls online dump content and comments and no one really cares, but Ludum Dare has a tight community where a lot of us really do want everyone to learn and make better games. We remember these things. I remember your names from the LD in April, where you jumped into random streams and disrupted chat, demanding the streamer play your game then leaving as soon as its done; as well as leaving similar comments. This juvenile behavior will, and likely already has, establish a reputation in this community. Basically, game jams do not simply exist for people to play your game and say how nice the menus are. The spirit of these events is for a community of people who enjoy making games to create games and learn more about how to do it. Take a look at most of the other comments on the pages you spammed. They're all valuable feedback, talking about things that worked or didn't in a game so that the creator can learn. That's what these comments on your game page are trying to help you do, and the fact that you don't seem to be taking that in, as well as that you aren't returning the effort on others games just feels to other participants (like most of the people commenting on this page) like you are here only out here for yourselves, trying to take advantage of a community of dedicated , talented, and friendly people who are mostly too kind to call out this kind of behavior when they see it. I didn't intent this to come across as this aggressive, because I do really want you to see you guys do better in future, next time start by making the game. Prototype a mechanic quickly, figure out how to make it fun, build out content for it. Then maybe start doing your highly polished menus, but more likely do what about half of LD people seem to do which is spend the whole time making the part that makes a game fun, and worry about that kind of polish later. Also, if you are going to rate and comment, play a game for at least 5 minutes. Assess it, then leave a comment that talks about what you did and did not like. If you give good feedback to others they'll come back and help you. Give the comments on other games you want to receive on your own. Make a game you'd want to play. That's the whole spirit of the jam, and I really do hope you at some point can understand that.
Remco | Hoarder Disorder | rebdc | ♥ 8 | I like that you can select multiple levels, with different difficulties. But, like the rest of the game, you seem to have put a lot of work into things that don't immediately pay off. For a 2-day game jam, if the idea of different levels is important, why make 4 when you can get away with 2? Then you could spend the time left over polishing. The graphics could use some work for example. Another example of this is the music. The dissonance may fit the 'disorder' thematic you're going with, and I did end up getting used to it, but that's about the nicest things I can say about it. Related: Mute music doesn't work on my PC. I like that you've thought of it as an option, though! (It's the thought that counts? :-P) The special items can be either used or handed in for score, which offers a nice strategic choice. Well, sort off: I ended up not using the special objects a lot (since they're a bit too expensive for what they do). I only ended up using health-kits (when I really needed them), which is a shame, as it negates the strategic choice. It took me a while to realise that the mouse is not just 'direction thrown', but the object will land on the mouse-pointer. This makes the game way easier, as I didn't have to run back to the area each time. (Also I stopped throwing objects into the lake when playing the first level.) I'm not sure opponents spawn often enough on my end? I can survive 10 seconds in the house easily, and I'm not exactly known for my quick reflexes or twitch-game abilities. Though maybe it's just better to avoid the opponents altogether, since I mostly don't bother with the special objects. P.S. You know, I'm sure there must be games out there where 'well, my mom could beat it' is the hardest difficulty, because the devs' mom is just that good ;-)
haley | Geh Aus Dem Weg!!! | toster | ♥ 8 | No... You made a School Shooting game.
Sauski | Pool Watch | plukers joschi | ♥ 8 | Truly this game is set in some dystopian future, where a faceless omnipotent rubber band wielding lifeguard struggles futilely to save what is left of humankind from their ritual suicide. This is the only conclusion I can come to based on the inability of these overweight clones to not drown nearly immediately after entering a pool, even with a flotation device. I tried, but in the end I couldn't save them all, is this a bleak picture of humanity's future?
Virtual Turtle Studio | Escape | teelin | ♥ 8 | Hey there, good job on finishing a game for LDJAM, you can be proud! I really liked the aesthetics of it, there were some beautiful models (especially the vault!). That being said I have some feedback: I didn't really know you could drag the camera, it might have been more intuitive to lock the camera to the cursor movement in the first place? The lightswitch was a bit confusing, especially when I turned it off and I couldn't see anything, so I had a really hard time turning the light on again. When there's water the player start to glide around the place, so it's pretty hard to stay locked into a puzzle, and I also don't seem to die before of drowning? 😅 Other than that I think the puzzles were nice and quite a challenge :) I'm usually pretty okay at puzzle games, but this one I couldn't solve (I'd love to know the answers though! haha) Good job!
