Aug 12 23:53:16 The Decline ♥ 1 I couldn't make it to the top! :( I'm impressed you were able to add some of those dope details like the parallax and screenshake that make the game feel much better- this is high quality stuff!
Aug 13 00:07:23 14m 07s Stuck! ♥ 1 Dope entry! The music and sounds are especially great.
Aug 13 18:28:53 18h 21m GLASS HOUSE ♥ 1 Loved this game. The flower graphics are beautiful, and the chill mood created is super enjoyable. Wish there was some laid back music in the background to garden to. The selling mechanic didn't make a whole lot of sense to me, and how the price was what we 'thought' it was. Seems like the safest option was just to wait until the people who wanted to buy my plants for $2 were replaced with higher options, or just use those plants for seeds instead of purchases. Also the space upgrades gave multiple options, but I only needed to choose one to beat the game- I'm assuming they were for continued play afterwards. The game wasn't super on-theme, but it didn't get in the way of my playing experience- over all one of my favorites so far.
Aug 13 18:45:46 16m 53s Running out of Space ♥ 1 I think the controls are the right amount of hard to control to make this fun. I like the sounds and music, I think the graphics could be a little more consistent and polished though. I was wondering if anyone would take the theme super literally, glad someone did :) I think some sort of shield or something to make the player not die on the first collision would make the game more fun- since right now it's kind of an all-or-nothing run. There's some great detail put in that I love: - the option to skip the intro texts - the cool highlight animation for the buttons - the particle effects on the wormholes Good shit!
Aug 13 18:50:29 4m 43s Without a mark ♥ 0 Interesting game! Hadn't thought of going the memory game route. Wish the text was a little bigger! Smooth animations :)
Aug 14 12:37:43 17h 47m Human Powered Rocket ♥ 1 Dope entry. This one wins all the points for innovation, never seen something like this before. The aiming system for playing the rocket-cage-thing was a little hard to use, but I got the hang of it- awesome that you had time to make a cool intro and add some sounds!
Aug 14 12:54:10 16m 27s TINY TOWNS ♥ 0 This is an amazingly polished puzzle game! Nice audio, great graphics, and hard puzzles. No huge complaints
Aug 14 13:03:47 9m 37s Too Much Post ♥ 1 Pretty cool entry! Some of the graphics, like the character graphics and anims, could use some work- I liked the idea behind it all. I think some kind of system where you couldn't walk through letters if your inventory was full would be cool (maybe a points system or something, I dunno) cus that would make everything increasingly complicated, might be a little closer to the theme. Nice music too!
Aug 14 13:13:48 10m 01s Spaceless ♥ 0 This is a cool take on Tetris. I dig the concept, and the audio and art is nice. The camera following the block level instead of the player got kind of annoying, because occasionally I would be stuck beneath the camera window and would have to blindly jump up until I made it back into view. I'm glad the option to speed the blocks up was there, but I did it more because I didn't want to wait the whole time for them to come down than for the bonus points. Worthy inclusion!
Aug 14 13:17:17 3m 29s Field of Bodies ♥ 1 I liked this a lot! Cool wave-based stuff with the options after each wave. I also dig that the zombies bodies stay after each level, and it's an interesting design choice to make the level a little lighter after each zombie kill.
Aug 14 15:21:07 2h 03m Spacecraft OS 8 ♥ 1 This is super in-depth! It took me a couple deaths to get the hang of things, and realizing when to use what combination of things (like rotating and shooting at the same time) I dig this quite a bit
Aug 14 15:28:48 7m 41s Get Comfortable ♥ 0 Cool take on snakes! I loved the graphics and audio, and the enemy AI was very impressive.
Aug 14 17:55:26 2h 26m PHAZACA ♥ 0 This is a goddamn shooting masterpiece. It feels fantastic. Dope screenshake and sound effects make the shooting feel sweet as hell. I found the color scheme a little lacking because there wasn't a ton of contrast, hard to see the player and things. There were also some weird bugs that happened when I died and restarted that would make me unable to shoot, or without a cursor, things like that- had to restart the game to fix it. But even with those problems, this get's 5 stars in fun, audio, and mood!!
Aug 14 22:27:33 4h 32m .S ♥ 0 Showed this to two buddes in class and we spent an hour and a half trying to beat it together
Aug 15 01:20:22 2h 52m Blow the Hen Down ♥ 1 Good stuffff
Aug 18 00:12:16 70h 51m Miss Eyesore ♥ 2 Really nice graphcs! My favorite asset was the map in the main room, looked super nice- reminded me of Bioshock or something. Definitely set the mood well, the first jump scare really got me. The whole game was so dark that it was kinda hard to tell when a room was 'dark' and the text instructions on the screen didn't do as well a job instructing me on how the game worked as maybe they could have. About one of the above comments ^ I think having the monster on the title screen was a good, call, I spent like 2 mins just staring at it's texture before playing the game. Very polished!
Aug 18 00:23:32 11m 16s The Flesh Pit ♥ 1 Fun play! Bet those monsters were fun to make :)
Aug 18 00:47:40 24m 08s EVOLUTION ♥ 1 Interesting game. Top notch artwork and sound, but I felt like it was a little lacking in terms of mechanics- placing things, waiting for enough money to buy the next thing and so on wasn't particularly fun or rewarding, but I appreciated the representation of climate change, and towards the end it kinda hurt me to keep going. It's easy to be critical of one of the more popular compo games, of course it's very well done :)
Aug 18 01:04:48 17m 08s no-kill ♥ 1 Really nice one! Super chill, had fun caring for the pups.
Aug 18 17:17:25 16h 12m Demonic Digestion ♥ 2 I really dig this! Got some great Okami vibes. Usimg the smoke trail from the player was a great way to represent health without UI, I particularly appreciated that. The art was fantastic, I loved the little 2 frame animations that everything had.
Aug 18 17:39:22 21m 57s Legacy ♥ 1 Very nice graphics and audio! The puzzles were pretty fun- my only critique is that since the character can't die and we don't really know the purpose of keeping items, there isn't a whole lot of drive not to lose them.
Aug 18 21:53:31 4h 14m Kakapo ♥ 1 Great game, love the message! I like how the art style matched between the cats and kakapos, created a cool look
Aug 21 15:01:05 65h 07m Tunnel Racer ♥ 1 Enjoyed this a lot, nice tunes!
Aug 22 11:19:25 20h 18m SQUASH KILL ♥ 1 Cool entry! I think the movement and player rotation could be a little speedier/ more responsive, and it isn't super intuitive how to kill zombies at first (at the beginning I thought I was supposed to box them in or something) but no huge complaints, really fun game. I especially like the effect for when the boxes fall down into place.
Sep 1 14:23:15 243h 03m Dirty Duty ♥ 0 I dig it!
