Aug 16 10:34:24 Disco Lovers ♥ 1 Hey ! Bravo !
Aug 16 14:12:55 3h 38m Summer's Lease ♥ 1 Had fun playing your game! The use of "running out of space" is bold, almost annoying but in a good way haha. The format of the game as an interactive text works well, and i spent the entire playthrough to visualize the scene in my head, so congrats for the writing. The whole special day/road trip/beach day/tinder date situation was very enjoyable to read as it gives a nice atmosphere, I really like those kind of situation, very and merely human, that we don't encounter enough in video games. Great job!
Aug 17 10:47:39 20h 34m Where Stars Belong ♥ 2 Clouds and shooting stars, all I need in life! Great graphics and interesting narrative, I like how low-poly 3D spaces give room to more abstract places and ideas. Did you choose shooting stars because of the current meteor shower that reached it's maximum during this Ludum Dare? I'd really like to know, I did it in my game and it would be really cool if someone had the same idea :D
Aug 17 11:18:02 30m 23s Demonic Digestion ♥ 2 One of the strongest entry I played! The game is very polished, both in game design and graphics. The spawn of new skulls associated with the eating, not being punishing since the skulls go in another direction, gives more anticipation and as a result the game isn't frustrating. It's one of the rare games where I clicked Play again! The menu with customisation and shop is really nice too. I can see you did a great job at designing the rules. I really liked it!
Aug 18 07:28:33 20h 10m Spacebars ♥ 0 Always happy to see Java games here! Nice twist on the theme, it actually took me a while to realise the character is a space bar and not a door haha. I like how the whole level interact when you type on the keyboard, and having to type the words play, next, or retry is clever. (it can become tricky when you use a non qwerty keyboard like mine, but it wasn't an issue here). Great job!
Aug 18 07:40:26 11m 53s Shrinker ♥ 0 I really like the idea of the stage shrinking with the use of ammo. It's a Battle Royale but using ammos instead of time and I think it's original and clever. Nice idea to change the shape to indicate the life, I like these kind of takes on the user interface, being more fluid and a part of the game instead of a simple health bar on top of everything. You did a great job!
Aug 18 08:00:05 19m 39s Mother Ship ♥ 1 I don't play often to these kind of games but I suprised myself and had a lot of fun playing yours! It is quite polished and complete, the gameplay is easy to understand and the black hole is not too punishing, I forgot to get some humans from the mines before escaping because I didn't know it was the end, but the most impressive fact is that the game actually had an end, it wasn't about fleeing until death, and I like that! Great game!
Aug 18 18:00:09 10h 00m Rainbow Rave ♥ 1 Had fun playing your game! It was pretty hard actually, and I reached a point where everybody was punching each others or throwing up everywhere, I hope I'll never be in one of these parties IRL hahaha! It took me some time to realise the take on the theme but it's original! Graphics and audio are really great, especially for a jam. Great job! (PS: Thanks for playing our game on stream and giving insightful feedback too!)
Aug 19 15:29:29 21h 29m Storage Rental 101 ♥ 1 I really liked your game! I started playing trying to be nice, and not charge too much, it went well and I got some money. But at some point everything went wrong and I started losing more and more money till bankrupt. But the game told me to keep playing, and I did. And it was at this moment that everything took sense. I was at the bottom but I realised that there would always be someone who would need a storage a.k.a. free money. I started charging way more money, losing easily my clients but making new ones right after. A few clicks later I had one thousand dollars. Some people would say it's a lack of balance in the economy of your game, but I took it almost as a life lesson about having money issues, hit the bottom, but get over it with the help of a second chance. I'm probably reading too much into this but I guess it's the experience that counts in the end ^^ So good job and keep making games !!!
Aug 19 15:43:58 14m 29s Golden Shackles ♥ 1 Good game! The balance between the gold stream, the making of jewels, the selling and upgrades create a pretty good curve of tension. I started slowly enough to understand how the game worked, without too much pressure, then it started to get dangerous, having about 100 gold, but I bought the painting around the same time and it gave a nice change of pace and I managed to control everything and win. That's why I think the key element in your game's balance if the price of the painting: drop it and the game will be too easy, make it higher and it will almost be impossible to win. Fun story by the way! I liked the moral about "You'll have what you like the most in the world but you'll have to work if you want to keep it."
Aug 19 16:07:57 23m 59s Blueberry Adventure ♥ 0 You did a good job! Being able to make 4 levels for a game jam is impressive!! Although I'd like to suggest some improvements about the level design (I know it's a game jam and we don't have enough time to do everything we want, this is not a negative critique!) I found it frustrating that it's so esay to die by a few pixels in some areas. You could either add some checkpoints to make the level less frustrating and repetitive or add some backup platforms below critical areas to help the player get back and try again. I would have found it less frustrating to die because of the water level after a few tries than just falling to my death in the water and hit R to retry. I also experienced some lag in the last level that cost me a few deaths, maybe too much turrets and mines projectiles in a single scene? This is still a good game and I absolutely encourage you to keep working! :D
Aug 19 16:52:35 44m 38s Space Invasion ♥ 1 Fun and great game!! I had to skip a few levels but I did the boss fight and as you said, it is the funniest, as it takes all the part of the gameplay into a single level. The only issue I had was that when I wanted to retry a level, I had the bad habit to reach for a button as there was two of them, and I clicked several times on "Main menu" instead of pressing a key. But maybe it's just me? ^^ Not a big deal though, the game itself is really solid!
Aug 20 01:48:05 8h 55m AL - A Choose Your Own Adventure ♥ 3 A great game! I loved the graphics and the way you told the story. I play three times but I think I ended up getting the same ending? Anyway I loved it. Maybe you should think about renaming your scenes, because at a certain point I realized that when my mouse was over an option, my browser was displaying the income, like "scene-sixteen" and "death-twelve" for example. I didn't look at it after to avoid spoilers but I just wanted to tell you :D
Aug 20 11:18:49 9h 30m No Man's Space ♥ 1 I liked your game! At the beginning it was always saying there was an error in my lines and I don't know why, but I eventually made it work and started playing. The mechanic and the story are interesting but it was a little bit rough. It's still a great work for a jam so kudos to you, keep it up! (btw I think your game page description is a little too long and may prevent some people from playing it, maybe you should shorten it a little or maybe use [Markdown](https://help.github.com/articles/basic-writing-and-formatting-syntax/) to add emphasis to important parts! :D)
Aug 20 11:57:25 38m 36s Consensual Love in a Dungeon (NSFW) ♥ 3 ***Cecil, Sympathizer to Goblin, The Coward, Who Flees from Spiders*** That was my first playthrough, kinda SFW haha. But then I played again and saw what happened :D Very fun to find a NSFW game here, I liked the humor with the text choices and all. And good graphics, especially for a jam!! Great ~~blow~~job on this one!
Aug 20 12:08:59 11m 34s Space Crusher ♥ 1 A simple game, sure, with a simple mechanic, sure, but the most important to say is that it works quite well!! I had no issue with controls and I managed to finish the game. And it was fun! Although I didn't notice the walls you were talking about? This is your first LD if I'm not wrong and you managed to finish a game that is easy to improve, that's really good, you should keep working on it until you have something very polished that could be showed to anyone without looking "too jammy" ^^' Good job!
Aug 20 16:54:19 4h 45m Personal Space ♥ 2 I had a really great time playing your game. I wasn't sure at the beginning if I'd play all levels but I did! Audio is great, graphics too, the only thing I didn't like was controls, as it wasn't easy to determine when the robot would stop when keeping a key pressed. Other than that a really solid entry! Great job!
Aug 20 17:04:29 10m 10s Nooooo! ♥ 1 I like the concept, but it is a bit rough. Randomness creates unbalanced plays from a death to another, and robots can start cutting the level at the same time, leaving you no choice but kill only one of them. I get why you chose Z and X, but I think it would have been better with Space to jump and something like E or L-Shift to use the special ability, as it would have left WASD to move too (and I have an AZERTY keybord so my Z and my W are switched). But as I said, the concept is original, so if you wanna work more on this game post-jam, I'm sure it could turned really good! At the moment it needs balance and polishing but that a quite common thing to say for a game jam, it's okay! :D
Aug 20 17:41:10 36m 41s Survirus ♥ 1 A really great game!! Really polished, good graphics and audio, and especially good mechanics! I had a lot of fun as you can see on my screenshot. There's only two things I'd like to point: - Associating a color with and arrow keys is really difficult in general, that's why rhythm games put the color on the key more than just displaying color blocks. In your game I had to constantly go back and forth between the color mapping on the top right and the level to know which arrow I need to press. I think that if you managed to put the arrow shape on the block, it would have been so much better! But then you'd need to display the countdown in a different way, so it needs proper thinking and design (ergonomics yay! :D) - It was quite frustrating that the antivirus blocked me from grabbing exploits and unlocking sectors when it was in the same spot. While playing it felt unfair to know that a sector would be locked because of the antivirus and not because of my lack of skill or anything. I can understand that an antivirus would try to block me, of course, but when it comes to players I think it's better to avoid unfair frustration. But other than that it was really fun to play your game, great first LD entry ever!!! Capture d’écran (381).png
Aug 21 19:09:32 25h 28m Triage ♥ 2 Thank you for having suggested me your game @chao ! The design actually makes me think of my game, about the way you have to make decisions and see the outcome in the end, but I'm not here to talk about my game! I really enjoyed the experience. The topic is hard and real, and I think you did a good job, it didn't seem too cliché or full of pity, it was just about acting, with no space and no time. I saved 42 people, don't know if it's good or not, but for LD42 I think it's a good number ^^' And I chose to stay the last day if you ever wonder! About the quality of mechanics, it hard to really tell because I would normally say that there's a lack of feedback on available ressources, but that's what the game is about! The only thing is that I hoped is that I could remember the names of patients better so I could know if they survived or not. But that's also a part of the game, as everything is going so fast you don't have time to know more about people. So... I'd say frustrating, but in a good way because the situation is frustrating itself IRL and I guess that it is what you wanted to depict. So I think you did a really great job! Oh and before I forget, the audio! It has set the atmosphere so well... heart touching!
Aug 22 13:30:39 18h 21m CapyBarbra: A New Brow ♥ 1 Wow! I didn't know brows were that hard to eat, especially for a capybara haha! Graphics may not be the best ever but in that way they enhance the fun factor, I'd say. Same for audio! I hope you had fun developing it, because it's such a crazy game I can't even say anything. You leave me speechless haha. But good job overall!!
Aug 22 13:48:21 17m 42s What Is On The Walls Inside ♥ 0 It took me several playthrough to get all endings and understand the relationship and it was worth it! Your good/bad mechanic may be a little bit of a Manichean to represent how deep memories can be but it serves the game design quite well. At first I thought every object had a special interaction, but then I realised they were unlocked depending on the number of good/bad memories. It's nice because the first playthrough was a blind one, not knowing what to expect, but they I understood how it work and it wasn't awfully long to get all endings and understand the story. So, overall I really liked your game! It's funny to see many games about memory for this theme, but I guess we all can relate to that ^^' Good job!!
Aug 22 14:10:36 22m 15s OPEN-ME.ZIP ♥ 1 I really enjoyed your game. Like, a lot. Okay I loved it haha. The music really helps to set the mood, especially at the end, and the game itself isn't as hard as I thought, so it doesn't break the immersion by frustration. The end twist is simple but means a lot and that's beautiful. ...Wait?! While I was writing this I just realized something! **Spoiler alert** Is the patient at the beginning Meredith but something happened to her and she doesn't respond anymore? It would explain the content of the zip file... Okay if it's the case it just added more feels (\*going to click that 5-stars mood right now\*). I didn't get that directly but it makes way more sense now haha Anyway, you did a very great job!!
Aug 22 15:17:43 1h 07m L: An Interactive Mystery ♥ 1 A great game, really polished! I looks a lot like "A Normal Lost Phone", a game that was made during a gamejam first and then managed to become a commercialized game. If it didn't inspired you, you should definitely play it! The principle is the same, but the difference lies in this LD42 theme. I like how you used our "always running out of memory space" phones as a main idea. Although, I think adding the power issue broke the immersion for me. The way the battery behave is not realistic and I think it's problematic in a case where you want to confront the player to a realistic situation: use a virtual phone like a real one. I redownloaded an app when I was at 1% battery and the phone was still on. I know putting a Game Over at this moment would have been useless, since this type of game is a "single experience" one. So maybe not adressing the battery power issue could have been better? Funny thing is that last year the LD39 theme was "Running out of Power" ^^' The Notes password was also hard to find, since I had to use the hint, then realize that I could use letters (I was trying some T9 magic and stuff haha). But I really like your podcasts, like a lot!!! It was kinda sad to delete all the songs too ;-;, they were good! And your voice actors did a really great job! (maybe some of them are the devs though, so great job to you!)
Aug 22 15:26:43 9m 00s Dumpotopia ♥ 1 You did a good job! The only thing I didn't understand how to use the dash properly, and I played like 3-4 times but it's alright! Good take on the theme, great graphics and audio in so little time, and nice French touch for Poiskaï and the big Pabo ^^'
Aug 22 15:42:08 15m 25s The Last Floe ♥ 1 Très sympa comme jeu!
Aug 22 15:54:49 12m 41s FINITE ♥ 0 Fun game! I still remember my chemistry courses so I had no issue having to make protons, neutrons and carbon, therefore I can't really tell if someone that doesn't have that knowledge can understand what to do with your indications. Well I think through trials and errors they should be able to finish the game so it's okay. I wish there was more but it's a game jam, it's okay! Great job!!
Aug 22 16:01:58 7m 09s Polar Panic! At the Disco ♥ 2 I engaged myself to play any game that has "disco" in its name... I was not disapointed haha!! Very fun game with a great music (kudos to the musician!) The only thing I'd say is that it looks like I can only make the situation worse by clicking, maybe a little feedback like a wave or something could've helped ^^'
Aug 22 16:39:37 37m 39s Zachary's Memory ♥ 2 Wow!
Aug 23 11:44:56 19h 05m Flesh Packer ♥ 2 Fun game! I like this type of game, and going NSFW is always rewarding for LD as there's not many similar games around. Absurd humor, theme, funny graphics and you made a very nice game! Congrats!
Aug 23 11:53:58 9m 02s Rhythm Doodle ♥ 0 Nice gameplay! I enjoyed playing it but it became repetitive because where wasn't a lot of difference between levels and the music was the same (for as long as I went at least!). But I like the music and the game was easy to understand and play! Good job!
Aug 23 12:07:08 13m 10s Beater ♥ 0 Fun to mess around with! From what I read you will use it later, I'd love too see this in a game!
Aug 27 16:52:30 100h 45m Glowium ♥ 1 I enjoyed playing your game! I was having some fun, and then I saw a tree rolling on the road... Destructible content!!! So I started running towards trees then I discoverd a part of the map that was blinking. I went closer, and it was full of trees colliding, pretty much from where the first tree was coming. I tried to run into it but a police car was hidden into it and I got caught. You would probably describe that as a bug but for me it was the little something that makes a playthrough worth it haha. Graphics really helped to set the mood by the way! Night driving is so enjoyable :D Good job!
Aug 29 10:34:32 41h 42m System_Corruption ♥ 1 Wow! You transformed a maze game into a survival horror when sentinels start coming, and then you start running out of space and it's horrible! Uh I mean it's brilliant! First levels help learning the game mechanics and also getting used to localize sounds without any danger and that's pretty much needed! I would've understand that, for a game jam, you wouldn't have the time to make these first levels, but you did, and that's really nice. It gives the game a progression of the difficulty of course, but also a true shape, almost like a story, the player feels like they played a complete game and not just a simple prototype. As you mentionned it, the next step would've been accessiblity since the game is only based on audio, but it's very hard to be able to implement that in so little time. Overall, Congratulations!
