I don't like very dark games (to me It feels like their trying to hide some imperfections throught the use of poor lighting), maybe a smaller game for next Jam will result in a more polished product at the end. Anyways I love RTS genre and even though it will take you a long time to polish, you're in the right path if your idea was to test some mechanics within the boundaries of the ludum dare's theme.
