| Aug 16 12:22:37 | Dungeon Trader | ♥ 1 | Very cool idea! I love me some dungeon crawling. My only real feedback is having a tooltip or some sort of UI that lets you know what the item is so you can make better decisions for who needs what. Most of that is intuitive (it becomes obvious that arrows go to the archer) but then I get a teddy bear and I have to wonder... is that some sort of magic bear or is it just junk? And while I wonder my party dies. :D | |
| Aug 17 01:08:00 | 12h 45m | XORN: The Fallen God | ♥ 2 | Really, really nice work on the graphics, from the effects to the UI very nice work. The music as well, very impressive. Character movement felt to me like it could be faster or include some sort of dash option. It took me a couple of plays to nail the aiming of my attacks. Rotating my character was a little slow with a regular mouse, even worse with my mousepad. Maybe an option to auto-target enemies would be cool. Great work, happy LD42! |
| Aug 17 01:23:06 | 15m 06s | The City Of Forgotten Toys | ♥ 1 | WOW. Still laughing. Consider adding a volume warning for people who wear headphones :D This was both funny AND I got to feel good by donating to charity. Win win. |
| Aug 17 01:30:39 | 7m 33s | Download Defender | ♥ 0 | Can't load the page atm, will try again later |
| Aug 17 01:40:34 | 9m 55s | Dear Leader's Diet Plan | ♥ 2 | Funny tone all throughout, from the background colors to the font, to the music, and the insane premise. It reminds me of some great classic flash games. |
| Aug 17 21:26:25 | 19h 45m | Battle Billiard Galactic Edition | ♥ 1 | Super replayable! At first it was annoying how long it took to get my charge back BUT after a few tries I see that it makes the bounce/rebound kills that much more satisfying. |
| Aug 18 12:39:30 | 15h 13m | Inventory Quest | ♥ 2 | Interesting idea! It got repetitive quick though! Once your inventory is full you're basically just have time to click on one item and before you're instantly full again. Maybe an option to jump over items might be cool, if you already know you don't want to grab it. The timer to register mouse clicks makes it seem unresponsive, so you might consider lowering the total time. |
| Aug 18 12:59:41 | 20m 11s | Personal Space | ♥ 1 | This idea is great. This is a very relatable experience! Wished there was more ways to get away from the guests instead of just running away from them. Maybe an option like "Insult guest" or "Excuse yourself" or something that works like abilities. These could be like the move controls and switch randomly. Speaking of the controls... I disliked the controls in this quite a bit. My first issue was the UI symbols .... the black square should show where you're landing not where you start. But after a while of moving around and bumping into everything I still found it impossible to get away from people for more than a turn or two. I think can still use some work. Overall fun concept. |
| Aug 18 13:08:41 | 9m 00s | Crowded Dungeon | ♥ 1 | That was a light-hearted well-written bit of fun! I'd play Chapter 2 :D |
| Aug 18 13:21:30 | 12m 49s | Pizza Defender | ♥ 1 | Cool take on the defender game, when I grow up I want to pixel as good as this :D As you must know by now, this art is fantastic. Really loved how your player's walkable space was taken away one bite at a time, I know how tough this can be to get pixel perfect! This lacks pacing right now and a way to really measure your progression. If UI text is not your thing maybe do something more visual like changing the background color. SOMETHING to show the player that they beat x wave and have x waves left to beat the level. SFX, camera shake, particles, and faster moving enemies would help this game a lot IMO. |
| Aug 18 13:30:30 | 9m 00s | Raft vs Shark | ♥ 1 | That was coool! Had a bunch of really fun teeth-grinding moments with this game. Sadly 32 was my highest score :P Great work |
| Aug 18 13:54:05 | 23m 35s | Last Piece | ♥ 1 | All aspects of this game's design work together to create a very eery mood and a feeling of hopelessness as you travel further. I also appreciate how it breaks your choices and forces you to make new strategies in order to survive. I feel like it was too long, maybe with other events occurring along the way (besides my island falling apart) might help to break this up. |
| Aug 18 14:03:51 | 9m 46s | HexaGlitcher | ♥ 0 | Great atmosphere with this one, even the epilepsy warning at the start helps enhance this. This game is DANGEROUS :D Really good call having the "red stuff" spread not only as you walk but by exploding enemies. Movement could use some work. Right now it feels like I'm accelerating with thrust, like a spaceship, instead of running around. This felt bad when I'm trying to move perfectly between red areas that insta-kill you. A lot of times I died because the player did not stop moving quickly enough after I let go of the key. |
| Aug 18 16:40:44 | 2h 36m | Eventful Horizon | ♥ 3 | Cool mechanic indeed. Level design is neat and the audio fx really add to the mood of the game. And OMG the rotoscoped intro, say whaaat. As many have said above a checkpoint system would make this 100x more fun |
| Aug 22 19:55:28 | 99h 14m | NOOR | ♥ 1 | A polished entry indeed. Loved the art on this, the text is well-written, and you nailed a dark cartoony mood that I'm a big fan of. The way you aim and shoot the light was tough to get a grasp on and I kept shooting off my first two shots after madly clicking to hatch (after dying 5+ times). It's also a little hard to tell when you're being damaged and where the hitbox is exactly. |
