Aug 13 17:36:02 Deadpan Gulch ♥ 2 I buried them where they fell, with their boots on... I never expected the gold fever would make such a monster of me but I had no qualms about shooting first. Simple but neat and surprisingly deep mechanic, along with a strong theme and mood, made this very enjoyable. The minigames were a nice touch but I felt that if you'd had time, just a little polish here would have gone a long way (eg. gunshots and death animations).
Aug 13 19:59:06 2h 23m Bookbinding ♥ 1 Absolutely beautiful. Played for far longer than I intended and got really quite good at it (I do play a lot of word games). Very satisfying and truly innovative gameplay - as I played I kept thinking of new possibilities, most of them probably not feasible: could you get challenge players to match certain criteria for extra points (eg. use 'scary' words or a subject-verb-object structure). When a game has me buzzing with ideas like that, it must have been successful. Full marks for everything except graphics (I don't think you'll be too upset by that!) and audio (lovely and moody but I played long enough to want some variety). Thanks!
Aug 14 13:01:20 17h 02m Overgrown ♥ 1 Nice pixel stylings and a fun mechanic, really enjoyed playing it. If I had one suggestion, it would be to make the arrow keys chop at the same time as they change the knife direction, eliminating the need to also hammer space. Maybe it's just my old fingers but I found it tricky to control as it is! I still kept coming back for one more go though...
Aug 14 13:08:23 7m 03s Backpack Goblin ♥ 2 Very nice idea and lots of scope for expansion into an enjoyable full game, I think (obstacles/enemies/shops on the road, the opportunity to increase backpack size or sell items etc). I had fun playing and got quite good at juggling items in my pack. One thing I would have liked is the ability to simply hold down a key to move an item rather than keep tapping it (I played on desktop). Good job!
Aug 14 13:17:19 8m 56s Miss Eyesore ♥ 3 Took me a bit of time to get used to what was going on and I may have shrieked a little on the first jump scare! Very effective mood and setting - I can imagine this being expanded into a neat full game.
Aug 14 13:23:52 6m 33s Get Comfortable ♥ 0 Good, snuggly fun - one of my favourite games so far this jam! Great aesthetic and neat touches of humour with all the possible 'special moves', I kept playing for a long time and really enjoyed it. Thanks!
Aug 14 13:33:42 9m 50s Stuck! ♥ 1 I've played this game many times in real life and it's much more enjoyable here! Really great visuals, music and mood. Surprisingly addictive gameplay too - I kept coming back for more but couldn't make it past level 7. Also good use of the theme - well done!
Aug 14 15:19:46 1h 46m Deep Down ♥ 0 Great little game, feels complete and polished as it is. Lovely tight controls and well planned levels, I enjoyed this one a lot. Great aesthetic too. Nice work!
Aug 14 16:21:42 1h 01m Writespace ♥ 3 Beautiful! Lovely innovative mechanic and great presentation. I've so far got up to the level 'knot' but I'm going to dip back in later this evening and try to complete it. The learning curve is just right and it's really satisfying to figure out new techniques like going back on yourself. Almost full marks all round for this one, I really loved it!
Aug 15 21:30:07 29h 08m Vita Magicae ♥ 0 Tight controls and an overall very polished feel. Impressive that you packed so much in, it feels complete in itself already. I have to admit that I couldn't get past the crystal core (although I almost did by finding a sweet spot near one of the pillars) but that says more about my lack of skill than anything else!
Aug 15 21:39:14 9m 07s Descension ♥ 2 Great little puzzler. Nice intuitive layout and perfect learning curve. I really enjoyed playing!
Aug 16 08:10:49 10h 31m Seven for a Secret ♥ 0 Beautiful aesthetic and a nice concept. However, the row function didn't seem to work for me (animation played but raft went nowhere) so unfortunately I couldn't make any progress.
Aug 16 08:31:24 20m 35s Captain Graphite ♥ 2 Great little game with a nice aesthetic and concept. Personally, I would have liked a steeper increase in difficulty as to begin with there was a lot of flying upwards shooting objects with very little happening. Still fun though, and scope here for a bigger game. Well done!
Aug 16 10:39:54 2h 08m The Flesh Pit ♥ 1 Lovely Spectrum/C64 style aesthetic, great mechanics, really satisfying progression in gameplay. There's really nothing to fault here - good job!
Aug 16 10:52:35 12m 41s Loot Keeper ♥ 0 Fantastic game, impressively polished already. I'd love to play an expanded full game - there's load of potential here. Graphics, audio, learning curve, controls - outstanding all round!
Aug 16 11:03:40 11m 05s TINY TOWNS ♥ 0 I'll echo some of the comments above and say that the two things I'd suggest as improvements would be highlighting selected buildings and making the radius of buildings more explicit. Otherwise, one of my favourite entries so far! It feels really polished and is heaps of fun to play. Excellent stuff!
Aug 16 11:17:12 13m 32s The Not Very Golden Age of Piracy ♥ 2 Great game, lovely presentation, tight controls and difficulty curve. I really enjoyed playing this. Minor suggestions - highlight the baby being controlled and don't detach control once one instruction is complete. Otherwise, faultless! Great job!
Aug 16 11:24:55 7m 43s Grimder ♥ 1 Neat idea and really polished execution. Some very funny bits of text too. I got slightly annoyed with both God and Lucifer for questioning some of my decisions but that's half the fun! Also, really glad I got to send Laika to the good place... :) Excellent work, I thoroughly enjoyed playing.
Aug 16 11:31:33 6m 38s The National Library of Geometric Impossibilities ♥ 0 Fun! I enjoyed playing this a lot, great puzzles and nicely pitched difficulty curve. Although it's already very atmospheric in its way, a little music or a few more sfx would have done a lot to deepen this. Thanks for a very intriguing and enjoyable experience!
Aug 16 18:03:07 6h 31m Dark Colosseum ♥ 2 Great concept and lots of potential for expansion if you wanted to. Art and sound worked well to build the mood. AI was basic but functional - I would have loved a multiplayer option (hope I didn't miss that?). As one other person already mentioned, I also enjoyed the puzzle element of figuring out your routes before placing bombs. Altogether an excellent entry - well done!
Aug 16 18:13:39 10m 32s Accurate Exam Simulator ♥ 2 One of my favourites so far - had loads of fun playing this! Been a while since I had to sit an exam but this is pretty much how I remember it... Great art, music, controls, all build up just the right atmosphere and it's genuinely fun to play. Some very funny questions too. :)
Aug 16 18:27:03 13m 24s Little Shop of Junk ♥ 2 Awesome game! Reminded me of Overcooked and could be expanded into a similar full game, I think. Lots of scope for extra mechanics here. Art, sound, controls - all great. The gameplay itself was lots of fun too, although the difficulty spike around level 3 killed me every time! Thanks for a very enjoyable game.
Aug 19 12:11:57 65h 44m The Room Of Death ♥ 1 Great little game! You had a pretty similar idea to my own entry but I think what really lifted yours was the inclusion of upgrades, they really add a nice sense of progression and achievement. The difficulty curve is just right as the game gets more and more hectic. Graphics and audio work well although my only suggestion would be to give a little more feedback on hits. Very enjoyable game - thanks!
Aug 19 13:39:52 1h 27m Mommy Hates Playday ♥ 1 As the father of two young kids, I already play this game a lot... :) Fun idea with a nice mechanic and a good clean UI. I really enjoyed playing - thanks!
Aug 19 14:21:29 41m 37s Consensual Love in a Dungeon (NSFW) ♥ 3 I never knew I had a thing for spiders - thanks for that! Great art, funny dialogue, refreshing to see something NSFW on here, especially when it's so playful. Good (un)clean fun!
Aug 25 08:38:47 138h 17m PhantomMARE ♥ 1 Nice little game! I think I completed it (they all stopped moving even though they didn't display "!"). I would have liked a little more feedback when scaring to know how well I was doing but I otherwise really enjoyed this. Definitely room to expand it into a full game.
Aug 25 11:02:09 2h 23m FoxyPops ♥ 0 Very nice concept - played with a mouse but I can imagine how much more satisfying it would be on a mobile device. Nice music, graphics, mood too - definite potential to expand this into a catchy mobile game. Good work!
Sep 1 09:42:44 166h 40m The Okinawan Samourai ♥ 1 Needs a little more polish and bug-squishing but I can see this being fun in the same vein as the one-click stick fighter games. The idea of limiting your swing to succeed is cool and could be quite tense as the enemies build up. It took me a while to figure it out but was quite straightforward when I did. Nice retro look and sound. Good job!
Sep 1 09:51:39 8m 55s Finger Noodles ♥ 1 Loads of fun, played this with my wife and we're still together (just)! I also once tried to make a game in which you had to keep lots of keys held down at once and found out as you did that rather annoyingly most keyboards don't track very many simultaneously... Great mood, art style, sound and general polish. A really good entry!
Sep 1 11:52:12 2h 00m L: An Interactive Mystery ♥ 1 Excellent work, so much depth and polish for such a short time. I really enjoyed the experience and the puzzles were simple but satisfying. I can't really fault this one - well done!
