Cool graphics! I had a hard time using the controls though. Also when you die you can still move the character or move off screen. For your first game jam good job!

Maybe it's me, but I can't attack with middle button :(

this game could be alot better if you change the controls to something that wont interfere with the game running in the browser. i would say maybe use s, then move the mouse to slash

The controls were interesting, but very difficult to use and not very responsive. I was never really sure how much I had to move the mouse wheel The detection for being killed wasn't quite great. Once or twice I killed the enemy and then later was killed by his attack. You can pass the enemy by and be killed by him

That said, the graphics were very nice, especially the character model, and with some more time for animation the characters could have really shined! It may have been unintentional, but move around after being killed got a good chuckle out of me.

I don't want to be too rough, because this is your first game jam. I can really tell that a ton of love and effort went into this, with the characters and the story. The result may not be the greatest game ever made but it was quite charming. I'm looking forward to your future games!

My score doesn't get reset when I start over. It took me a few tries to understand how to do the movement and I agree with the other comments about the choice of mouse buttons being problematic. I usually try to sample game jam games on just keyboard and trackpad first and that always catches a few games that try to use elaborate mouse controls or were designed with a gamepad plugged in at all times.

I really like the idea and motif. Swordfighting in a constrained space is a really creative idea for working with the theme and easy to expand upon, the only thing holding back the game is the technical stuff.

Nice entry. I try few times to understand how to use my sword, and still not sure about it. The looking is good, sound too. (Perhaps a music could be a good add). and you have some bugs (left side won't stop you, you could go far away after the left border, you could continue to play an kill ennemies after die so I have a good score ;) ) This is a lot of work, good job !

Unfortunately, this game needs more effort to it. There are too many bugs, no music, little to no feedback, the font is quite unreadable and it barely fits the theme, sorry. Good luck next time!

Thank you for all your feedback ! I work a little more on this game and follow your advice.

Reminds me a little bit of "Kung Fu" from the classic Nintendo days. I have to say, the controls need work. A simple Left/Right/Spacebar would have sufficed, I think. Cool retro graphics and styling, though, definitely a fan of that.

Needs a little more polish and bug-squishing but I can see this being fun in the same vein as the one-click stick fighter games. The idea of limiting your swing to succeed is cool and could be quite tense as the enemies build up. It took me a while to figure it out but was quite straightforward when I did. Nice retro look and sound. Good job!

manimal 2018-09-01 14:48

After a 5 mins I was unable to figure out how to swing dude. Middle mouse button for control anything is real pain.

bradur 2018-09-01 15:31

Very hard controls. The sound that was played when I pressed the middle mouse button was very loud and noisy. Cool graphics though :).
