Truly this game is set in some dystopian future, where a faceless omnipotent rubber band wielding lifeguard struggles futilely to save what is left of humankind from their ritual suicide. This is the only conclusion I can come to based on the inability of these overweight clones to not drown nearly immediately after entering a pool, even with a flotation device. I tried, but in the end I couldn't save them all, is this a bleak picture of humanity's future?

Current **Highscore** from the *developers* is **1070**! Can you break it?

Pretty close, but I beat you :) ... for now.
This game definitely got a chuckle out of me, and it's fun to boot. On Windows 10 at least, I couldn't find a way to fullscreen it properly nor move the window so it just sat kind of awkwardly off-balance on the upper left side of my screen until I task manager'd it away.
Accidental double post, can't figure out how to delete.

@sauski Thats woke.
This was a good game. The mechanic stayed fun and worked well. The graphics weren't great but they fit the style that it seemed you were going for. The jumping in the pool sound was a good jump scare at the beginning.
Nice concept! It is both fun and sad at the same time. Great to see also a non-Unity game, Godot actually.

@sauski Your comment is deeper than the pool they are drowning in. Thanks for the great interpretation, very well written, made me laugh :)
@andreas-roschal That's unbelieveable high, awesome :D
@team-trout Thanks for playing! As soon as our artist showed us the little swimmers we also had a good laugh
@mrchippy Thanks for playing the game!
@heidelbert Thanks for playing! Godot was a great tool for the jam, really enjoyed it

Really interesting concept!
This game such a perfect use of the theme. The hitbox area for each swimmer felt a little small, I found myself missing on my click and drag to shoot them towards the ladders. Other than that, I enjoyed the game. Audio queues are great.
This game is hard, I'll leave other people to getting the highscores :P
Game has a good feel of space running out. Fun to play a couple times to try and get a good score. Sound effects are kinda obnoxious.
That was probably most amuseing game so far in LD42. Theme is spot on! Had a great laugh at what was going on. Got exactly what I was expecting. Even tho first time didnt understand how you get em out and drowned almost everyone in the pool. I like how it goes harder since you can“t save everyone and the pool gets crowded by the dead corpses in the water. How did you come up with this game?

@2games2easy thank you very much, I am very happy to hear this  ! Well after we kicked our first idea of a multiplayer racing game into the bucket, we took a time off and went into the pool. There we brainstormed a little and I remembered an image of a crowded chinese water park. Boom the idea was born :)
That lifeguard it looking too smug for just having a couple dozen people drown on his watch lol... this game made me laugh, but I don't know if that was the point. Nice concept, fits the theme very well!

Enjoyed playing this for a while whole theme is very funny and an inventive take on the running out of space idea. -RS

The mechanics made me chuckle, pinging people around is somewhat entertaining. The audio was a bit harsh but fun little game!
I like the original take on the Theme and the very polished feel of the game. The gameplay is interesting and works well. I see room to improve on the sounds and visuals. While the sprites are charming, they could be improved by following commong pixel art rules. I recommend to check out some guides because the artist clearly shows potential here. Overall an enjoyable and funny experience. Love to see a fellow godot users!

This is fun! It may get repetive after some time but i had funn playing it!
Interesting game, got a good laugh out of the sound effects. Mechanics are good as well but there seems to be some graphic issues. In which tiles turn black as if missing before turning.

pretty good game. Sometimes annoying when I think they will make it and they don't. I don't think it follows the theme so well. other than that the humor is done well and a fun game to play

This is like...pool pool, you know? It's really good. It's so ridiculous and crazy, but so solid underneath the janky graphics and rough feel. One of my favourites of LD so far!

Fun game, I enjoyed it! I don't know what's with all these people who would jump into a pool filled with dead bodies though!
Good implementation of the theme, I really liked the game. I wonder where those bodies will be dumped.

The death count escalated quickly  Fun idea, well done
Fun game! It quickly escalated and got really difficult. The sound is insanely loud, even on 1% volume on Windows it sounds like its about the level of 20-30% volume on other applications. The clicking and dragging is also not super consistent, I could click on the edge of the float on some and not on others, but it wasn't too noticeable once I got the hang of the controls. Overall, really fun game though!
Fun and funny game! At first I though it was a bit easy but it escalated at a really good pace. Needless to say, Nutty's Pool of Adventure and Fun turned into Nutty's Pit of Death and Despair pretty quickly.
Once I got it figured out, this was really fun and addicting !! It's quite an innovative idea, I can't think of any game that is played like this. I like how it feels like a table pool game, while set in a real pool :)
This has me entertained for quite a while, I thoroughly enjoy this submission, especially its creativity and treatment of the jam theme. Great work ! :)
Very funny...

Evaluation...
0 - Main Mechanics: The main mechanic is to direct the bathers in danger to the staircase, before reaching a maximum number of dead in the pool. Actually the theme was used in this game, things get very difficult with increasing errors.
1 - Secondary Mechanics: Apart from strategies to support the main mechanics, I believe that this game can not be analyzed from the point of view of secondary mechanics.
2 - Learning Curve: After a few tries and mistakes, I learned how the game controls are. With the addition of new bathers the need for new strategies arises (that can be developed by the player, if he has basic notions of direction).
3 - Flow: The game begins a little monotonous, but soon becomes action. After a certain amount of errors the game becomes very difficult (it penalizes the players a lot when they start to err). I think adding elements in the "powerup" style can do the game very well (for example a powerup that lets you throw a dead man against another and thus restore the fault bar a bit).
4 - Love Points: The main thing was the challenge of making more points (it would be good to compare with other players on a global score) and, of course, the grace (very funny).
5 - Presentation of the Narrative: I have not seen much narrative presentation, so it is difficult to analyze by this aspect. Because it is primarily a game of action, I think I did not miss the narrative as well (but this can change if the game becomes a casual game for smartphones, with phases and goals).
6 - Art Polishment: The art contributed with the grace of the game. There is always room for polishing, especially if the project is continued for a casual monetized version of smartphone.
7 - Monetization Attractiveness: I think the main form of monetization is similar to what Candy Crush does. If the scale is not too large, the game could work based on advertisements on the cell phone (I do not know how it could be sold to personal computers, but I do not deny the possibility).
8 - Community Generation: In a polished casual smartphone version, the game could generate community (I would advise creating a Facebook page, if I create a page call me to follow).
9 - Cultural Dialogue: In the culture-game sense I would say games that use physics as a base have influenced, as well as situations involving clubs (hopefully comical situations, hahahaha). In the other sense (game-culture), the game could favor the development of spatial capabilities on the part of the player (as I believe happens with Angry Birds).

I didn't expect to have that much fun with your game tbh. The base idea is super original, the execution is perfect (except the sfx can get a little annoying in the end), the gameplay loop is simple but efficient. One of my best surprises of this LD, I'd really like to see an extended version of it with more mechanics, different kind of swimmers, hazards or events, other things to shoot in the pool... Really great game, congrats!

I dunno how you get to that highscore, I can barely keep up when it gets to ~200. xD Awesome game though, quite innovative and I've definitely had a lot of fun! If I were to change anything, I'd get some additional color-based "auras" for currently waving swimmers - when things get hectic it's quite hard to notice all of them at once. It'd break the immersion, of course, but make it more manageable. That said, I usually make quite difficult games myself, so who am I to talk, haha. Well done!

@gustavo-christino thank you so much for your detailed evaluation it was very interesting to read!! As we programmed this "piece of art" we didn't think so many people would enjoy playing it, so we never thought of releasing a polished version for mobile phones. But maybe it will happen some time and we will keep your proposal in mind :D
@all Thank you for giving us such a great time by commenting on our game! It is really nice to read the comments and realize some people actually enjoy the game we made :)
