Wow, so much fun! I LOVE IT. Seriously, great idea, good execution, and lots of fun. I think this is my new favorite LD29! Seriously, I could already see this being successful. With more time, it could be amazing. You rock. Gold star.
Wow, really powerful for such a short and simple 'game.' I really liked this one. I'd love to see much more of these quick little 'experience' type games. Really nice work!
Pretty good duck noise, yo, though it got a bit repetitive. I really liked the concept of collecting things which then changed the landscape, but sometimes when I landed, it was impossible to get the collectible thing.
Eh gads, I hate these kinds of puzzles, I can never get them right!! Nice job though, a bit of polish would really go a long way. Solid overall.
Wow, really beautiful. Sound was perfect. Controls were a bit slow, and I didn't feel any motivation to collect the pearls, but with some varied landscape, I'd swim around just to be in that world. Nice job!
Really cool idea, and fairly well executed in the given timeframe. Even though the idea in theory isn't yours, I could see you taking it somewhere new and making something really unique!
Great atmosphere and aesthetics. I was really intrigued and wanted to keep playing but I got stuck D: Maybe I missed something obvious!
Great audio, and cool take on the theme. Fishes were a bit too hard to avoid. With a couple more obstacles, maybe a couple different 'themed levels' this could be a cool infinite runner type game.
Not my cup o' tea in terms of gameplay, but it was really beautiful!
Honestly, if you added some particles and screen shakes and shiny things... I'd play it. A... more pleasant noise would help too :D Good on you for knowing when to start polishing!
Cool idea, never seen anything like it! I think with a bit more variety, maybe multiple levels and more upgrades, this could be really cool!
Really liked this one. At first I was really confused, and couldn't figure out how to get off the ship, or even know when I could get off, but aside from that it's beautiful, and really innovative! I think if you added some dynamic challenges/hazards and give me more choice in where my drill goes, and it could be really special. Great work!
Great job!! Beautiful pixel art, and solid controls. Boss fight was pretty easy to exploit, and was too hard otherwise (I think I missed some cubes though)
Loved the misleading the player thing, but I honestly quit once after the training level, and didn't replay it until I read the comments. It worked a bit too well :D Good work!
Great graphics, sound, and mood! Controls were kind of annoying to use, I gave up after 10 seconds of trying to jump up what looked like stairs, so I didn't get very far.
Nice aesthetic and well executed mechanics. As others are saying, refreshing and starting over the whole game was not pleasant.
well done, but repetitive. Having missiles come in ever increasing waves would make this a lot better. Liked the red/black/white thing. Could have used some more 'juicyness'
Pretty cool, was fun to play! Wished for a bit more enemy variety, and the ability to pick my own upgrades, but solid work!
Really cool idea, and well executed. Slightly boring after a while, but adding in change over time would really help that. Keep up the good work!
Love the music, love the all white room look. I think if you added a hazard, or some secondary objective, this game would feel a lot 'fuller' but overall great job!
You have a decent start to a somewhat unique tower defense game. Needs some polish, but keep it up!
Aw! Poor Danny! Lovely little concept, and well executed. With a couple other activities, and a long term goal (break free?) This could really be something special. Nice job, keep it up!
Really liked the idea of a parkour cat!! It was fun when it worked the way I wanted. I think with smoothed out controls, this would be a ton of fun!
Pretty cool, like the clean/simple gameplay and aesthetic. Would have liked more change over time, or maybe something to collect? Overall quite good for such a simple concept.
Nice visual style and interesting game mechanic. Was confused about what I should be doing, and sometimes felt like I was 'unfairly ambushed/killed' Really cool!
Wow, really catchy tune, really liked it! I liked the concept a lot too, but had wished that those bad things would have been blocked by my aura, yo! I couldn't tell if I was doing it right/wrong until I died, maybe some more feedback of some kind would help. Great start though, keep it up!
Love the visuals, especially those dragons. Very unique! Controls were a little rough on a keyboard/mouse, but I bet it could be really cool on mobile!
Wow, looks beautiful! (Though I'm partial to voxels) Great lighting really brings it to life. Movement was much too slow (but maybe that was intentional for occulus, I'm not sure. I also wanted to look up and down, and struggled with the controls. With some fine tuning, you could have a really nice exploration game! Keep it up!
Nice concept, I've never played anything like it! With some soothing background music and some polish, this could make a great game! Keep it up!
Great music, good graphics, and I liked the concept and the mechanics! Only thing I would change would be the ability to drill by holding down the mouse, having to click a bunch was somewhat annoying. I didn't get far enough to see, but did the gold nuggets serve a purpose, or just high score?
Solid game idea, sort of a topdown shooter tower defense thing.
If the controls were tightened up, and another mechanic or two and this could be cool.
Nice job! Really attractive, great audio choices. I was excited for a myst-like though, and even though I liked 'the end' I wanted more ominous puzzles.
Nice simple idea, but lacking any real challenge. Maybe making small puzzles inbetween you and the goal objects would help?
Pretty cool entry, a choose your own adventure platformer! Great music, too!
Really cool idea for a puzzle mechanic, but it seemed frustratingly hard (not challenging-ly hard) for some reason.
I think if it was polished up and the goals were a bit clearer (I couldn't understand the voiceover), this could be really something awesome. Agree with others, I could have done without the attempt to be like portal.
Great art, especially liked the purple guy with the sideways teeth. Got a little boring after a while. I wanted powerups!
Great aesthetics, really felt like a cohesive 'world.' Shame you didn't finish it, I really liked the style!
Great stuff. Well executed choose your own adventure book that Chuck Palaniuk would probably enjoy. Nice work! Great visual style considering it was 90% text
Wow, really addictive gameplay. I really think you need to polish this up a bit and release it for mobile. Seriously, I spent way more time playing than I intended, and I'm at least itching a little bit to try and beat my score. You're onto something, for sure!
Really cool idea, I liked it a lot. Good sounds and graphics, though it was a bit too hard to see.
If you've never scene the move "They Live" you need to, film of the millenium.
Really cool stuff, loved the audio, and the lighting was really nice. I liked the mix of 2d characters and a 3d setting. Gameplay was fun. With some more variety, this could be a solid top down action game!
I wanted the up key to move me up, and the down key to move me down, and not at diagonals. My brain had a hard time figuring it out.
Make your bullets bigger! Always bigger bullets!
Loved the audio! BANG BANG! Cool concept, though the difficultly curve seemed off. Great job with a quick tutorial, something not many LD games take the time to do.
Awesome concept, but even after reading the length instructions, I felt unsure about what to do. I think if you simplified things as much as possible, you could have a really cool game!
Wow, really awesome idea! You might think I'm crazy but I thought the graphics for this were almost perfect. A little sparkle might not hurt, but I loved the simplicity.
I think if you made a decent chunk of levels and added in maybe one or two more hazards/mechanics, this could be really great. Keep it up!
Wow, beautiful! Great mood and setting, really liked the spotlight, but could have used just a slight bit more light around it. I especially loved the music after losing, perfect!
Really really nice work. Very clever concept/mechanics, and well executed. It's interesting, when you take attack away from the player, it becomes all about positioning. Really cool stuff, keep it up!
This might be my current favorite! Really cool idea. Took me a few minutes to figure out what was happening, but then I saw another player, and I even found a new stairway!!!
I think if you added just one way to.. fail, or die, this could be a really amazing game. Maybe there are trap tiles that cause a bunch to fill back up, and players could mark tiles that are traps?
Really cool, interested to see how far people can go.
Couldn't get beyond the first jump, kept getting stuck on the pipe!
Great aesthetic. Loved the pixel art! Got a little confused at some parts though, even with the writing on the wall. I think the flashlight didn't work for me?
Really cool atmosphere, but I really wasn't fond of the controls. I got to the ladder and then that was it, is that all there is?
A bit hard to understand, but I liked the sound and minimal graphics. Some more of a tutorial would really help.
This is a nice start to topdown minecraft-like. Seemed a bit buggy when choosing tools, and I would have liked more instruction on what I should be doing. Nice work!
I like the style and audio a lot, but the puzzles themselves seemed unnaturally hard to solve. The rotating puzzle, for example, I wished the pieces rotated in some kind of understandable order.
Once I got past that, to the 'press space to attack' it started me over at the beginning! Big points for music and aesthetic!
Really nice idea, and well executed. I don't think I've seen anything like this. It was challenging, but I always felt like I could do better, and wanted to play more. Polish this up, seriously cool!
Cool idea! Controls were a bit clunky, but I really liked the way it looked!
Good stuff, controls were a bit 'floaty' but I did feel myself compelled to find more 'evolutions'. Waiting for platforms was a drag.
Wow, really awesome graphics and sound. Mechanics are awesome too, sort of a qwop action adventure. I think this could be an awesome multiplayer fighting game. Seriously beautiful pixel art yo!
Wow! Really polished, interesting concept, and I really wanted to beat my high score!!! I think maybe things sped up a tad too quickly, but this is one of the most polished entries I've seen. Great job on keeping your idea small and nailing the execution!!!
Nice job! I only wish I had some way to take out the enemies!
Cool concept, but the wall jump was very difficult to pull off and I couldn't get past the 3rd level D: If you tightened up the controls, this would be much more enjoyable!
Nice story, but gameplay was lacking. Might have been better as a simple choose your own adventure type game, as it is, I'm just clicking on highlighted letters.
Sheeeeiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
At first, I was annoyed with the hammering on the inside of the coffin, but I stuck with it. Really well done, even though the 'joke' at the end when you choose one of the options (I won't spoil it) took me out of it.
A+ for theme mood and audio!
I liked the graphics a lot, and it's a nice idea. Driving felt too clunk to me. I'd like to play this if I moved around a lot faster :D
Nice idea for mechanics, and well executed. I would have liked more time to react when he got off a ladder and started towards some spikes, but that could be fixed easily. Great aesthetic. Would love to see this on mobile!
Loved the art style. Combat was a bit frustrating, but I'd love to see a more polished game with this aesthetic. Nice work!
Absolute loved the concept, and would LOVE to play this game with the elements you mentioned you want to add. Loved the use of lighting, was very satisfying to dig down and have a tunnel suddenly appear. Looks reallly nice, and would get an almost perfect rating from me if there was more content. I Really hope you continue to work on it. If you don't I'm going to steal your idea!
So I played and rated this a couple days ago, and can't get it out of my head! I really want to make a clone of this, but know that I would be really upset if someone did that to me.
If you ever abandon this idea, or are ok with me making something similar, PLEASE let me know @DarkMeatGames.
Keep up the good work, yo!
Nice job, innovative and cleanly executed. I think with a bit of juiciness, and some smoothing of rough parts, this could be a great game. Might be interesting on mobile?
Nice idea, but too much based on luck. If there was some ability to help me out, it could be a lot more fun!
I liked the concept, but felt confused about what I should be doing in game. Did the other people matter?
Simple and fun. I liked the graphics and the back story. I didn't like movement, I could sort of see that there were hills there, but moving around still felt buggy.
Great audio and pixel art. Jumps were more frustrating than fun, but I might not be the best platformer. It also seemed like if I wasn't holding right constantly, I was doomed! So why not make it an infinite runner?
Great start, just needs some smoothing out! Keep it up!
Wow, absolutely beautiful, especially above the surface! Really impressive how you made a world that seemed so big in just 48 hours.
Even with the task list, I felt unsure about where to go, and wasn't crazy about the 'home key/end key' for controls.
Really beautiful work though, if the world had some variety, I'd cruise around without any objectives at all. Keep it up!
Cool idea, and nice graphics, especially the.. creatures. Controls left something to be desired though. Keep it up!
Could be a cool take on a 'boss fight' game. The moon had too much health for my liking, maybe there's a more interesting way to keep it difficult? Keep it up!
Wow, really amazing! Loved the music, loved the art. Really great. Perfect mood. Fun was lacking a little bit, but it honestly didn't matter, I loved the art and music so much.
Not bad! I think if the difficulty changed, or if something changed over time, this would be 10x better.
Hooray! I'm the new eyeball king! Loved the graphics of the 'bad world', and I liked that I had to use it 'too much' to advance. But my first playthrough, I thought that's all there was (the bad ending)
With some more guidance, and maybe another mechanic to keep it interesting, this could be really cool. I really love your weird aesthetic. Keep it up!
Nice attempt at adding a thing or two to the 'flappy bird' type game. Didn't like the delayed jump, I made it to level 6 by just holding down the space bar. Nice start to something, with another mechanic or two, and some more thoughtful controls, you could have a solid mobile game!
I liked the idea, but was a bit confused about what I was meant to do. Tried a couple things. But everything seemed futile!
Really cool concept, and fun too. I think it got too challenging too quickly, and I occasionally ran into an impossible jump. I think if you smoothed out the level builder, you could have a really nice game!
Nice graphics, great lighting. Control scheme was really strange, f5 and f6? With some polish and content, this could be great!
Looks really nice, and is an interesting take on the 'cookie clicker' type games. Would have prefered he had less health, and there were more levels/variety, but really cool idea for 48 hours. I could see this being a hit if there was some more content!
Nice, loved the sfx (boxboxboxbox) - If the controls had been a bit better, I could definitely see spending some time screwing around! Polish it up, could be the next goat simulator ;D
Wow! Absolutely stunning!!! Not much gameplay (but not everything needs gameplay, look at Proteus) With some more variety in locations, and a nice soundtrack, I'd wander around for hours. Seriously, really beautiful.
Wow, absolutely loved the idea! I honestly can say I've never played anything like it! I didn't get very far, but really well done from what I saw. Only thing that could have been better would be a better/more readable UI.
I liked that you remembered where the mines were, but wished they were more spread out. Controls on keyboard/mouse weren't very good.
Nice job! Simple concept, but well executed. I wished that the colors of the platforms actually meant something about their behavior, but I don't think they did. Loved the music and graphics were just right.
Whoa! Great concept, and the execution is great! I wish there was some way to peak at a room before trying to enter, seemed to me optimal strategy was to just try to uncover everything. If I could somehow make a semi-educated choice about which tile to check, I'd play the crap out of this. Really great work!!!
Wow, really impressive! Absolutely beautiful, great sound, and really fun gameplay. This is really awesome work! I think with a bit of cleaning up (aiming seemed a bit too difficult) this could be really special. Seriously nice stuff!
Nice start to an action/adventure twin-stick you got there. Add some variety and some direction and this could be great.
Nice job! Loved the 'sunbeams' and I liked that things got harder over time. Good use of sound as well.
Wow, LOVED the visual style, and the audio was really great. I think you're really onto something here. If the gameplay was a bit more polished, I can definitely see this being a big hit! I really hope to see you do more with this!
Nice work. I would have liked fewer enemies, and hitting them with one rock should kill them! Good pixel art though, and pretty solid gameplay.
Pretty cool idea. Once the passages got a bt narrow, it seemed impossible to pass. Loved the sound fx!
Wow, the mechanic was surprisingly fun! I liked how I would panic when I was about to be eaten, and screw things up. Took a second to figure it out though, at first I thought it was bugged :D
I think this could really translate nicely to mobile!
Really liked the idea, I just wished I had something to spend my money on, and maybe some more variety between levels/depths.
Nice working making a complete game. Seemed a bit disconnected, but I thought you did a good job of telling a little story. I think if you had focused on one mechanic (stealth platformer?) instead of adding in the car chase scene, you might have had more time to polish. Congrats on submitting!
Awesome! Great sound design, simple and fun core mechanic. Got stale kind of quickly, maybe more levels, more items, a small 'campaign' would make it more full. Good stuff all around though.
Cool idea, but controls were a bit unforgiving. Was hard to get princess to go where I wanted. Also, lack of mouse capture on the webplayer made it hard to play.
Solid entry. Controls were easy and understandable, satisfying visual feedback, and a decent amount of content from what I saw.
Great audio and loved the black blobs and lighting, but the character graphics stood out. I think it would work better as just a square. Easy to understand controls and gameplay. Nice work.
Really solid entry. Interesting, unique mechanic, and a really deep gameplay with the multiple abilities. As others said, controls were a bit fussy and unforgiving. Really nice job!
Points for originality, graphics, and audio. The ring toss mechanic could use some polishing to make it 'feel' more fun.
Seriously great audio and graphics! I would have preferred more variety or polish over more levels, but still a really well done job all around.
Nice entry, great overall aesthetic, pirates, booze, pixel art, and your audio go well together. Good amount of polish as well. Would have liked some more variety, but great job for 48 hours.
Really nice core mechanic, and good depth of level variety. Was a bit too challenging trying to time my shots just right. Would have been nice on some levels if the robots couldn't die, they just bounced back in the other direction, giving you multiple chances to succeed. Great graphics and polish as well. Nice job!
Really beautiful and well polished graphics, audio, and gameplay. I felt a bit overwhelmed starting out, and took a while to figure out the controls/goal. Slowing down the introduction of new mechanics would really help. Seriously nice job for the compo, very highly polished and fun.
Cool concept, but controls made it hard to do what I wanted. Also, a bit of in game instruction would go a long way. Really nice art style and concept though.
Cool idea for a typing game. A little more content and polish, this could be a great little learning to type tool.
Really cool concept!! It was a bit too challenging for me though, since waves seemed to come whether or not I had cleared the last wave. I would love to see this mechanic in a more complete game. Could be really fun with powerups and different kinds of enemies. Nice work!
Liked the idea of charging up snowballs a lot! Wished the character was faster and could jump higher and throw snow further.
Great idea! Was a bit challening early on though (maybe I'm no good) Wished for a bit faster movement and 'jetpack' speed. Great music and sfx.
Cool idea. Nicely polished. One of the few entries that wasn't frustrating to beat. I wished I had a cross hair during some parts. Overall, pretty solid entry. Nice job!
Really beautiful art, and great job with the music and sfx. Good polish too! The 'never miss once' thing was really too difficult for me. Maybe a limited supply of ammo, or some kind of healthbar that you can replenish would help out with that.
Excellent mechanic, and great audio/art to back it up. Was a bit too challenging for me, but might be a lot better on a table/touch device. With another couple mechanics, this could be a really fun tablet game!!
Nice work! Controls were challenging, and I felt a bit overwhelmed by everything. Perhaps a slower ramp up into the action would help. Liked the mechanic though, and the tongue was sweet!
Nice graphics, easy to use controls, and clear objective. The level was a bit too small, and due to only one enemy type, combat got stale kind of quickly. Nice work overall, you definitely have a good start to an interesting shooter.
LOVED the idea, but it was a bit hard to understand how everything works. Would love to see this hooked up to real people talking. I wonder how long this would survive the Turing test?
Looks like your site is down, just get a not found error when I try to load it.
Really cool concept that I really wanted to get good at. A bit too hard to understand what's going on though, or what the impact of different troops are. With some polish and better tutorial/guidance this could be a really really cool project. I hope to see more.
Nice job overall. I played longer than I thought I would. A bit of tutorial for controls (rmb drag mostly) and some more thoughtful level design/pacing would help a lot. Very solid start to a roguelike or turn based strategy game.
Love the artwork, really beautiful. Also really liked the simple waddle animation for the visitors.
Nice work yo. Even though it's a small game, it shows off the mechanic nicely. Great audio!
Really lovely audio. Good text too, I actually cared for the dog! Wished it was longer, and that there was more room to play around.
Really solid entry. Simple and well executed. Felt a bit aimless at first, had a hard time figuring out where to go. Even though I feel like the 'portal-like-female-computer-overlord' is a bit played out, it was overall a really compelling experience. Good stuff!
I really liked that there were so many different ways to get disable the robots. Was a bit limited, which is understandable given your short amount of dev time, but I liked how far you tried to push the one mechanic.
Fun arcade style game. Was quite challenging at first, but I played until I got a bit better and had some more fun. Would have been nice to gradually introduce the player to mechanics one at a time.
Really beautiful work, and an interesting concept. The randomness wasn't ideal, since it made it seem like I didn't have control over how I did, but with some handcrafted levels, this could be really cool.
Really loved the look of the game, but it took me a while to figure out the controls. Once I learned them, it still seemed tough to play. Great music, and as I said, really beautiful.
Awesome work! Loved the concept, and the art/sound really fit together nicely. Became a little repetitive after a while. Nice work!
Really awesome music, 5 star audio for sure! I really didn't understand what I was supposed to do, but I still clicked my way through and listened to all the crazy music. I really hope those sounds find their way into something!
Really solid entry. Cool idea, easy to understand controls, and a good pacing. Only criticism I have is that I wanted more!
The core mechanic is very interesting, using the right weapon for the right enemy. I wished there was more variety, however, and the number of hits it took to kill the enemies was too much for that early in the game. A bit of polish and variety could make this into a really cool game.
My favorite entry so far! Really cool mechanic, and the graphics were amazing!! Really clever all around. Be proud!
I'm getting that playmaker error as well, but was able to run the game anyways after closing the log. Nice overall entry. Great audio and polish. Not enough variety though. Maybe a couple powerups or another enemy type would help.
Loved the graphics and mechanic, but agree with others saying you should be able to move faster and jump higher. Even with shift to run (why not make that the default speed?) it was a bit frustrating to make simple jumps. I would definitely like to see more in this art style though, and the mechanic was really solid.
As others mentioned, not locking the mouse cursor made it very difficult to play in the web version. I liked the graphics a lot, and I liked the idea of the weapon pushing you around. I spent a LOT of time trying to even make it to the first platform. Maybe locking the mouse would help with that. Otherwise, up the speed and jump power!
Nice concept! Really interesting. Controls were very tough, but once I started to get the hang of it, it was a good deal of fun.
Nice pixel art, and cute idea for the theme. SFX were kind of jarring, and I wished there was more stuff on the screen telling me what I should be doing. Nice job getting something completed for the compo!!
Really awesome entry! A lot more challenging than I would have guessed. Would have loved it if 'failed' words would auto clear, and wished that some words would have special effects (maybe they do?) Graphics and sound were good. Really solid stuff.
