LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Fish Slapping Simulator 2021 by chriiis88 2021-04-28T05:17:28Z

Love the humor and hope you didn't slap yourself too hard when making your slap sound effect :)

It seems though that I can have Walter Wormington move offscreen and never be attacked by any fish there. Adding some boundaries to the game would pervent me and others from cheating. Overall a nice simple and funny game.

Bohris by tomdeal 2021-05-02T05:41:03Z

Good gameplay and presentation! One thing I especially liked was that I could drill in any direction, not just downward like in other people's drilling games. This made it so I can go back for rewards I missed, and avoiding the lava makes for a good challenge. The game also became more fun as I got more upgrades as expected. Good job.

Harpoon Prototype by haunted-circus 2021-04-28T07:11:45Z

I could see this growing into something really fun, especially if you have a character that holds a harpoon gun and then takes down their enemies after he/she gets pulled towards them.

Deep(er) Purple by johnnysix 2021-05-07T04:17:19Z

This is an impressive Compo game! I love the quality of the pixel art and what feels like smooth high FPS gameplay. A tweak that might add some more polish would be to have the camera better follow the cat when jumping as I feel the cat goes beyond what the camera can see by more than what I would like.

Nevertheless, good to see the amount of work done you did and I like your music as well!

Clear Your Mind by Quoclon 2021-05-02T06:06:12Z

It's a nice simple distraction for the mind indeed. The game is easy to understand and with added difficulty I could see people spending a good amount of time with it. The controls may not have been the most straight forward at first but I didn't even need to know all of them in order to complete a game level.

Enceladus Depths by ryzy27 2021-04-28T05:30:25Z

Nice ambiance and mood you got going in this game. I also like how I can hold the spacebar to keep shooting rather than repeatedly hit it like I do to in most vertical shooters.

After playing it awhile I cared more about surviving than I did about scoring points so I spent more time dodging than shooting. If you wanted to add some more challenge to the game, maybe add a penalty for not destroying certain objects that make it past your drone. You probably can't shoot down all enemies but it's just a thought.

Nice game regardless :)

Scuba Diver by _benhumphries 2021-04-28T06:21:16Z

Doesn't seem to work on my old windows 7 laptop, but I guess it's too old to play this game. Hope others enjoy it regardless! From you screenshot I can say I like the pixel art on the fish :)

What's in the Bottom? by Lex 2021-05-02T05:56:44Z

I like your take on the whole deep sea fishing idea! I made a similar game for the COMPO but what I like about yours is that you have more fish varieties and can collect fish. Also the cast your line out part is a nice touch!

Tomb of the Old Gods by Dylan Fries 2021-04-27T01:11:33Z

The atmosphere is great, really gives you a foreboding feeling!

To the Center of the Earth by oda 2021-04-28T07:03:35Z

The pixelated rotation of drill looks great and the shaking of the screen really added to the feeling your drilling into the earth! Nice detail on that.

The warning sounds were a bit too high pitch for my ears but other than that the other sound effects were good. Nice work getting this done in 48 hours!

LD48.DeepHunt by fabonacci 2021-04-28T07:37:20Z

A nice short game with a bit of a twist near the end. I love how simple it is to pick and play and the checkpoints were much appreciated.

Also the event leading up to the end made me smile in a morbid way lol. I liked it though, very clever and good job!

Snappy Word: Jellyfish Horizon by deox 2021-04-28T05:42:34Z

The visuals are good and the light rays shining through the water was a nice touch! I like that you can also take different paths depending on how deep you decide to go and it makes the game more re-playable.

I would like more air bubbles at the start of the game though so that I could get farther without multiple tries.

Overall good job getting this made. :)

GLUB by Birdwards 2021-04-28T08:09:43Z

I never clapped so much for my microphone. I guess you deserve a round of applause! 👏👏👏

Very innovative concept and I love the music and graphics.

Deep Dish Delivery by shaner421 2021-04-27T04:54:54Z

The game looks amazing and thank you for posting puzzle solutions for people like me who aren't good at thinking outside the box lol.

Eel With A Gun! by Lomna 2021-04-27T04:15:13Z

I never played a diagonal shooter before, quite the clever idea!

Dungeon Diver by Z_Doctor 2021-05-02T05:49:48Z

I like that you can run past enemies in some areas, and might have no choice but to them fight them in others. I can definitely see the potential for speed running the game which is cool.

I feel background music would have added to the atmosphere of the game, but the sound effects helped to make up for that.

Dive OS - LDJAM48 by Mooptychunk 2021-04-28T06:13:48Z

A lot of thought was put in this game and I love the way you represented the "Deep" human mind as a computer OS!

I did run into an issue with one of the game's Dive challenges regarding "cigarettes". I got a pop up warning that I couldn't seem to press the "ok" button to. Perhaps it was intentional or I didn't understand the instructions else where in the game but that was my only issue I can mention.

Overall fantastic idea and great execution otherwise. Hope you get some high ratings for it!

Digsite Simulator by PerfectSquare 2021-04-28T06:39:20Z

Digsite.png

Don't know if I'm cheating by just clicking around instead of dragging my mouse, but I guess judging from my screenshot it's not helping me find stuff. lol

Love the concept for your game, it brings back memories from playing a certain Magic School Bus Dinousaur PC Game as a kid. Adding music is the only improvement suggestion I have.

Miner Rescue by mjbelanic 2021-04-28T06:29:51Z

It's a fun and challenging game! My only issue was sometimes getting stuck on walls but it wasn't game breaking or anything. Nevertheless, good concept and execution of your game.

Crazy Fishing by Johnathan Peres 2021-04-27T00:11:46Z

Love how simple the game starts out and then gets harder the longer you play it. I almost wish there was a way to get lives or a defense against the garbage in return for collecting fish so that I could survive the game longer.

Mayan Dive by Banres 2021-05-02T04:57:54Z

Congrats on your first submission to Ludum Dare! I like the pixel art character of your game and the easy to pick-up gameplay.

While playing on the HTML5 version it seems I may have run into a bug or may not know what to do in order to progress beyond the first level of the game. When I go to what appears as an underwater doorway I cannot seem to enter by using any of the listed control keys on Itch. Shooting doesn't seem to be enabled either but I guess that might be because I haven't found an item I can use to shoot with?

Overall, it's great you to see you made a game with exploration, your own art and audio in under 48 hours!

Deep Dive by ForsakenBacon 2021-04-28T06:58:16Z

The flashlight flare is a great addition to the game's graphics and at first I thought that was the only thing it was for. Then I got to the darkest level and saw that flashlight is pretty vital to actually seeing things lol! I also love that level for having angler and viper fish swimming around, nice work on their sprite art!

Fishing the Deep by DDesignDude 2021-04-26T18:37:48Z

Thank you to everyone who played my Nintendo DS Game!

If you want to learn or try to make your own homebrew DS games, check out DS Game Maker.

It's basically Game Maker, but for the DS, and it's free. See the DS game Maker fansite for more info:

Fishing the Deep by DDesignDude 2021-04-26T23:53:26Z

@mDuo13 Thank you for your constructive feedback!

I definitely wanted to make more varieties of fish but ran out of time before I could do so. Totally agree about the gameplay needing some work, would love to do a possible sequel of this game with far more added and gameplay enhancements. :)

Fishing the Deep by DDesignDude 2021-04-28T04:55:21Z

@p0l4r Thanks for playing my game! The fish disappearing on you is actually not a bug, you just have to scroll the Bottom screen camera down using the Down arrow button. I probably should have made it more clear in the control screen that the descending part was a feature and was tied to the down button. But thank you for pointing this out.

Fishing the Deep by DDesignDude 2021-04-28T04:59:13Z

@train27 That's a good idea, I could display a recommended control scheme for nds emulators on my itch page or on the control screen as I imagine not many people are familiar with the default emulator button mapping. Thank you for your feedback!

Fishing the Deep by DDesignDude 2021-04-28T21:39:34Z

@osterzone and @sebbernery, sorry that you guys had compatiblity issues when attempting to play the game on your actual hardware.

Unfortunately the code libraries used to create the game are not compatible with all flash carts and emulators.

I could modify the game to possibly boot for a larger variety of hardware but you would loose the game's audio since the sound library is the one that I found to have the least compatibility for my flash carts.

I know for my R4 flash card, the YS menu and the default R4 game launcher sadly don't work. But the Moonshell menu works with the game, however, there is no sound. If you happen to have that installed on your hardware you should be able to at least play the game.

Regardless, thank you for still trying out the game with an emulator!

Fishing the Deep by DDesignDude 2021-04-29T22:59:32Z

@dis0rder Great to hear from someone else who has fiddled around with DS homebrew. The DS is truly the "Developers' System" :)

Tropical Singer by Kevin S 2021-04-27T05:28:38Z

The concept is over the top funny! I hope I never get held against my will to sing in real life lol.

Dive & Dig by andrewkennedy 2021-05-02T04:40:15Z

Nice polished graphics and graphical effects and it's awesome that you made time to included a tutorial!

I could see the game improving from more involved/complex gameplay since right now all I really can do is go downward while traversing between the diving area and drilling area over and over. Maybe to throw in a twist, the two areas could play/behave more differently or have unique things to watch out for. But seeing how you had only 48 hours to work with, adding unique mechanics between the two areas might have been too costly for time.

Regardless, good job getting the game done and overall done well. :)

Abyssal Secrets by thain 2021-04-27T00:59:55Z

I really like the exploration aspect of the game and that I can take my time exploring without a time limit. I like the mood of the game as well and it's thrill to encounter new enemies even though they'll probably kill me lol.

To give some contructive feedback, I wish the background of the game and the shark enemy's art was not blurry. But I guess there could be something wrong with the online player or that my screen is too high of a resolution for it. I think if I could swimming a bit faster or restart from somewhere close to where I died, it would also make replaying the level more fun.

All in all, gotta love deep water exploration!

Deep Old Files by LightSn0w 2021-04-28T07:29:29Z

Very clever concept and execution of it. My only critique would be it would be great if the folders stayed on the ground once I "Slammed" them there with the coffee mug. It can be a little tedious to shake them down every time I open a folder then exit it in search for what I'm looking for.

I liked the password idea too, I never tried out all the available passwords so that potential gives the game replay-ability if that was intended.

Overall I love the games concept and think it could be expanded on if it was worked on more outside of the 48 hour dead line :)

Treasure under the deep sea by Bonezinho360 2021-04-28T07:47:56Z

I like the uplifting graphics and tune you have in this game! It can be a little tricky to tell if you're making much progress in the game by just going downwards, I can't help but feel I may be missing possible treasure on the left and right sides of the game level but my sub moves a little too slow for me to want to check. I guess that could be intentional.

Overall, nice looking and sounding first game jam game, congrats on getting in done in 48 hours!

LD49 — Unstable

A Day In The Office by NemoStein 2021-10-10T03:44:21Z

I like where things are going for your work in progress game. The animations so far are nice and fluid, and I applaud your clean and visually appealing UI. Really succeeds at that corporate office feeling and reminds me of the Incredibles movie.

Upheaval by bentglasstube 2021-10-08T05:18:03Z

I love the addition of the cutscene at the title screen. I wish more compo games gave the option to read over the initial premise/story before starting their games. The lighting system is pretty impressive too since it doesn't go past the walls unlike other rpg games that just use a vignette to cover the outer edges of the screen. Kind of wish there was a run option since there can be a lot of ground to cover, but then again, it might then be too easy to find the amulet. All in all good job on this game!

Are You Sleeping? by DrFallos 2021-10-07T07:25:57Z

Each night I was really looking forward to seeing what horror would appear and it would be sweet to design more of them if you make any updates to this game. Makes me wonder what a boss enemy would be like. I can only image. Good job!

KungFun BaLance by LuhUchiha 2021-10-09T05:13:25Z

It was nice to play a more relaxing game about balance and the music really helped there. The only minor tweak I would make would be to put indicators on the balance bar to indicate what balance region I should try to maintain vs trying to guess the percentage of the stances. Regardless congrats on a successful and well-balanced ;) compo entry!

Just a steelyard by gogu 2021-10-07T07:33:10Z

It feels great care was put into making sure the physics worked well and it shows! I just love the simplicity of this game and glad to play a balancing game where I use skill versus, trial and error to make a scale balanced.

Volcano God by RetroNuva10 2021-10-08T05:38:38Z

Love the concept for this game and the execution of the art and music is spot on. I felt it was a bit too difficult for me and wish there was some sort of check point or a chance to save myself from running all the way back to the bottom of the volcano if I mess up. Regardless congrats on getting this all done in time for the Compo!

Unstable Working Conditions by J0ye 2021-10-08T05:53:14Z

It's an addictive game and I could see this actually doing well on a mobile app store if it was released there after making some tweaks. Sometimes it seems while playing the HTML version the physics can glitch out on me while clicking and dragging items and there is a buzzing noise that I figure needs to be fixed but other than that it's pretty fun and mind challenging. Good Work!

Love will Prevail by lesinvisible 2021-10-07T06:44:19Z

I love the art style and the music really hit home the somber feeling of what the character is going through. I don't know if there's multiple endings for game but I hope that perhaps there's a possibly more cheerful one available then the one I got. But then again. Maybe that's the point. Regardless. Good and thought provoking compo entry.

Tree of Life 2 by iamdavidmt 2021-10-08T06:00:14Z

It's truly a test of balance, and captures the Unstable theme very well. I wish I could slightly nudge blocks to after they have been placed to rebalance the structure, but i understand being not able to add challenge to the game. Good and straightforward compo entry!

Stabler by Cinar 2021-10-10T04:16:04Z

This is such and unique an awesome concept that was well executed! It's actually very satisfying to staple enemies down after you land on them and the animations and visuals are well polished and match the concept well. The only improvements/enhancements I could think of would be maybe have the enemies spam their fire a little less so that it doesn't feel like the are ganging up on the player or have the game get progressively harder with levels where on higher levels the enemies can fire more often. Regardless, it's the most fun Ludum dare 49 compo game I've played so far!

Unstable Driving by grilladroid 2021-10-07T06:30:50Z

Good and pretty straight forward on how to play and what to do. I think it would be cool to have the car be able to rotate and turn in real time to each direction. But then again maybe it would be less "unstable" that way. Regardless good job getting the compo done!

Unstabtower by Spacespytv 2021-10-07T07:10:50Z

Great presentation and visual polishes! It took me a few minutes before I figured out how to wall jump but I still couldn't get past the second platform. Still looks like a great game though.

Cemetery Pinball by DDesignDude 2021-10-07T07:15:39Z

@gingerningerish thanks for playing my game, and very true about it being too easy to max out your points. That and the overall level are things I would love to improve on in a future iteration of this game.

Cemetery Pinball by DDesignDude 2021-10-07T11:39:27Z

@mtabasco thank you for playing my game and you're right, there weren't any physics library for the ds I could use so I had to come up with with my own physics system, which I haven't done before.

It was certainly a challenge to do in 48 hours and still is a long way away from being perfect as many notice the ball can get stuck in a loop, but i'm glad I got it working to the point I did.

Many thanks for thinking of the limitations that I have when working with the Nintendo DS.

Cemetery Pinball by DDesignDude 2021-10-07T11:50:15Z

@gogu unfortunately the code library i used to develop the game is not compatible with all flash cards. More premium slot 2 flashcarts like Acekard and Super Card DSONE support NitroFS which my game uses.

I managed to get the game running on a r4 gold 2020 card via the moonshell menu. It removes audio playback though but at least it's still playable that way.

Regardless, thank you for playing my game and leaving feedback! :)

Cemetery Pinball by DDesignDude 2021-10-08T00:03:00Z

@lesinvisible to answer your questions, I develop DS games for Jams lately mainly because:

- They are set apart from Unity Games, in that you can play them on an actual handheld DS console if you have a compatible flashcard to copy the game file to and play off of. - Making homebrew games for nostalgic consoles like the Gameboy and NES is a bit of trend right now, but the DS is lacking the same amount of attention because it's lacking modern dev software for it. So I try to help build awareness and support for DS homebrew by continuing to make small games for it. I'm a big fan of handheld console gaming because it's what I grew up with.

To make DS games I use DS Game Maker (DSGM) which was designed to be essentially Game Maker, except for the Nintendo DS. It has drag and drop coding and more, but it's software that was made during the early 2000s and requires a few retired dependencies in order to get working on modern computers again. Fortunately the original developer of the software made DSGM available for modern computers in 2020 via virtual box emulation. You can see more information about that at the below DS Game Maker Fan Site: https://dsgamemaker.jada.io/vmrelease.html

Thanks for playing my game and showing interest in why I make DS games. :)

Cemetery Pinball by DDesignDude 2021-10-10T22:35:24Z

@denatus it's not your fault, the physics system I made for the game needs more fine tuning so that it plays like a proper pin ball game. The level design also needs some adjusting so that it's easier to go farther up the screen without over using the "Bump pinball with arrow keys" feature.

Thanks though for playing my game!

Cemetery Pinball by DDesignDude 2021-10-21T16:39:08Z

@ronanrory thanks for you thoughtful and thorough feedback!

I think you are one of the very few to see the credits screen let alone mention it. I include it as a way to give people more background information on the game's origins and creator incase it gets shared around the internet (it is being hosted on itch.io and other places I post it to after all) and it's also a way for me to insert easter eggs or dedications to friends and family. Monica's birthday in this case ;)

The game freezing upon hitting the tombstones unfortunately was a bug i discovered after submitting the game so I hope to fix it if i ever make another iteration of this game.

That's also awesome to hear you managed to see other homebrew for past ludum dare jams. I hope more people get into it because playing on a pc is fun and all, but making games for an actual console blows my mind :)

Pot Shots & Whiskey by CinderBlock 2021-10-07T07:51:51Z

For your second Ludum dare this looks pretty great! It's nice that you made time to include an options menu and a tutorial which add polish to the game. The only thing that seemed off to me was there was no audio for me while I played the HTML version of the game with my Edge Browser on Windows 10.

Gun King (HTML) by Daniel Seeberg 2021-10-08T05:46:59Z

The recoil of the gun took some getting used to but I see how it makes the game more interesting than your typical platformer! For instance you could use the gun to fire away from you while jumping to cover larger gaps. I only wish the same was true for firing downward so that I could triple jump in a way. Just an idea. Good platformer concept and execution.

Unstable Luggage by SternGames 2021-10-08T05:26:59Z

Pretty funny and straight forward concept, I love how the guy let out a "scream" sound when everything topples over.

A good start by javve 2021-10-10T04:00:58Z

This is honestly a very touching and probably the most good-feeling/heartfelt game I played for Ludum Dare 49. I was a little disappointed at first when there wasn't any audio to start with but I was delightfully surprised when I turned the music on and it's tune really helps give that caring vibe to the game. Also the little things like having the cat follow you after interacting with it was thoughtful, whether it was intentional or not. Ultimately, you did a great job of making me as the player feel something heartwarming though simple graphics and gameplay and that is something to be proud of.

Parcel Panic by PKZinpo 2021-10-07T07:44:06Z

I agree with another comment stating it would be great if the game started easy and progressively got more difficult. I would also give players a chance to get more familiar with the map too. But other than that, it's a well polished game and you really captured the "panic" aspect without giving me nightmares lol.

Spooky Drive by Fizzy 2021-10-07T06:23:43Z

Came for the atmoshpere and wasn't dissapointed. Not too sure why the game ended when it did though but I enjoyed the visuals the most.

LD53 — Delivery

Terror in transit by tinykidtoo 2023-05-06T04:52:49Z

This was really cool! I loved the implementation of voice acting in the game which I hardly see in game jam games. I also like how the guards say different things based on what I do or what they experience. That's a great attention to detail. And all this being done for the COMPO makes it even more impressive.

Obeyzos by bentglasstube 2023-05-03T02:53:20Z

Fantastic gameplay concept and it was well executed! I only wish I could have a run button unless there already is one and I did not know how to use it. It would also help to know which workers I talked to already but I guess that's the challenge of the game is to remember which ones were talked to so you don't risk talking to them again and getting caught.

Regardless, it's a funny and challenging game and I also love the addition of propaganda posters and the door mini game.

THREE GUYS - Pizza and Cheese by pfeyffer 2023-05-07T17:00:20Z

You have a unique game idea and I like the humor in having the staff being all blind! I also like the sound effect that was used for inserting the cards into the machine. Perhaps it was recorded from a printer or similar device? just curious. Regardless nice work on getting this all done for the COMPO!

Fangs and Fury by Rodrigo Denúbila 2023-05-06T03:34:54Z

The graphics for the game are very polished and I especially like the lighting in the game as well as the title logo design. It honestly feels like a game that should be getting more ratings! I'm not sure if there was something wrong with the emulator or if sound wasn't included on purpose but that would be the next thing I would love to have implemented in this game if you are planning on updating it in the future :)

Mr. Delivery Man by pvg 2023-05-07T16:19:19Z

My favorite thing about this game is the attention to the music! I love how it starts out being suspenseful before dropping the parcel followed by changing the music track depending on how far the box was clicked. It really added to the polish of the game and made it funnier too!

TapirBoy by ruthiepee 2023-05-06T03:51:51Z

The presentation and music of the game are well executed I especially like the cartoonish art style. The controls didn't take long for me to get used to but I felt it was odd that the tapir wasn't redrawn to follow the proper perspective when rotated. I know that would be a lot more work but if you're ever doing a future iteration of this game I think it would add more polish to include animations for the different directions the Tapir could face.

Please Mr. Postman by josemwarrior 2023-05-04T00:26:01Z

I love the calming music in the background and the sound effects are on point. I think like others who played this game some more indication as to how strong my throws are and in what direction would be improve it.

Fine I'll Do It Myself by axelrinaldo 2023-05-07T16:15:47Z

I really like the mouse scroll wheel zoom in and out feature and wish more games had that control mechanic! It was also fun launching the parcel as far as possible in the air to complete the level quickly. Of course that didn't work so well on level 2 where there was a brick ceiling which is understandable as it makes the game more challenging. On thing I would like would be to allow the box to endure multiple slime hits instead of ending of the game with one hit which feels a little frustrating if you make it far in a level only to accidently get hit and go back to the very start.

Regardless nice work on getting this done for the COMPO and the music is nice and calming too :)

Messenger Boy by alec 2023-05-03T03:14:39Z

Fantastic execution and the sudden change in tone/story really surprised me. I was all giddy jumping and running around and then suddenly that dilemma came up. Wow. I didn't know what to do after that as I didn't want to deliver the message but I had no choice.

Regardless very good job on getting this all done for the compo. Now I must question my ethics lol!

Boxbrawl Delivery by Cruise Elroy 2023-05-04T00:57:28Z

I had one look at this game and knew I had to play it! The execution of making your own Mario Bros inspired game was fantastic! You even captured the jittering walking animation from the original game. Excellent work!

Goods With the Wind by Juutis 2023-05-06T04:37:21Z

I never got the opportunity to play pilot wings but this reminds me of it and I like it! And I appreciate you taking the time to add a tutorial to the game and labeling the controls with what keyboard keys activate them. I found the turning the plane was difficult that may be due to my lack of experience with these types of games. Regardless nice work getting all this done for the COMPO!

Banana's Invasion by coatline 2023-05-03T02:38:31Z

I love the sound effects! They are funny and fit the game very well. And the added text did help in seeing how this game relates to the theme of "Delivery".

City Runners by ScalphaMission 2023-05-03T03:19:39Z

The music was my favorite aspect of the game but I also like the vibrant colours and the parallaxing backgrounds!

Ash & Phoenix by Honey Pony 2023-05-03T02:09:40Z

Very beautiful in both visuals and audio presentation. I feel it's one of those games you have to set aside time for to truly enjoy or experience in full length. Otherwise it feels like some of the conversations drag on, but that's no reason to adjust them if someone wants a shorter story. I feel you put a lot of thought into the relationship between Ash and phoenix so I wouldn't risk reducing that that just to make things flow faster. I'm probably just inpatient anyways.

Regardless great work, this is art!

Bomb Express by MoebiusMeow 2023-05-06T04:58:04Z

This is wonderfully chaotic and innovative! I love the background music too and the little cat shape cloud for added fun detail.

Pizza Rush by rjerez192 2023-05-03T01:17:34Z

The coolest and most EXTREME way you could ever deliver Pizza! Nice work. I especially liked how you introduced the controls as you progress in the game.

Pizza Puzzle by Paroxysmal 2023-05-04T00:52:25Z

I always appreciate having a tutorial in the game as it allows me to jump right into the game, so thank you for taking the time to include it! I also like if you come across a level that's either too hard to get all the pizza slices you can instead move on to the next level with what little slices I may have. And the Gameboy aesthetic is totally on point! Nice work :)

Unspecified Postage Service by EmeraldAlkemist 2023-05-04T00:31:28Z

The music fit really well this this game and it is an addictive one at that!

Bumbol by MiniBetrayal 2023-05-07T16:55:37Z

This is a good simple game that would benefit next with added audio for things like warning the player when new things occur. Such as when the wind changes direction or other plants pop up in the level. Those are just some ideas but regardless great work on getting a fully playable game done for the COMPO!

Pizza Maker by martonel 2023-05-03T01:44:14Z

Great work on getting this finished in time for the COMPO and with a control screen no less! I found the gameplay to be a little unclear as to what table I had to use to assemble pizzas with (the one in front of the delivery guy or the long one) but I did still like the music and the overall atmosphere of the game.

Strange Supplying by Mrtubagames 2023-05-07T16:36:02Z

I liked the music for the game and the colour scheme which made obstacles easy to pick out. I typically recommend for games like this one to allow for multiple hits so that it's less frustrating to repeat a level from the start, but considering that memorizing the level allows you run through it faster it might be better to leave it the way it is for that benefit. Regardless nice work on getting this done for th COMPO!

In Defense of Pickles by Mavvy 2023-05-06T04:19:06Z

Love the sunset background for the game and the addition of music! I especially like the animation frame that occurs when the bad guys are punched off the truck and they have wide open eyes. I found it very funny :D. Also I find it interesting that my punches seem to slow down when actually attacking bad guys versus punch the mid air. Not sure if it's just my imagination but if that's true it seems inconsistent. Regardless, nice work on getting this all done for the COMPO! :

Claw Express DS by DDesignDude 2023-05-03T03:34:09Z

Thanks to all who played the game so far!

I totally agree there's not much to the gameplay and I wish to share that I was actually making this game for a tutorial as as well as for this game jam, so the game is purposely as simple as possible so that it would be easier to explain and teach while recording the tutorial footage. :D

I hope when it's released you'll consider checking it out from my YouTube channel link below if you're interested in DS Game development. And I thank you again for taking the time to play my game!

Anvil Express by Zykra 2023-05-03T01:23:45Z

The concept is very funny and clever! I can only imagine how much back pain I would be in if I had to deliver anvils in real life haha.

Die-Giorno by BorderDestroyer 2023-05-06T18:41:45Z

I knew I had to play this game based on its title Alone! And interesting fact, in Canada we call it Delissio pizza instead of Digiorno pizza.

For the game I like the atmosphere and the delivery and foreshadowing of upcoming horrific events (no pun intended). One thing I didn't like though was the lack of sound to indicate that a car was coming my way and I did end up dying 3 times because of it. It also felt like I didn't have a chance to get out of the way before noticing the car as the camera automatically turned to face it and stopped my ability to walk. I guess I was never meant to ever walk on that side of the road, but I'm not sure since it's hard to know where I'm going in the dark. It ultimately stopped me from wanting to play again to see the other endings.

Aside from that I did enjoy the concept and was left in suspense for the part of the game I did play nice work on achieving the horror build up!

A very ini tiny mini mail turtle game by Boeruchan 2023-05-04T00:35:28Z

The art work is very nice and reminds me of calming children books I used to read. I'm not sure if I got all the endings unless the different ways of failing to deliver the box counts as endings. Regardless, very nice artwork and art style you have for this game.

Dragon Dance Express by Astropower 2023-05-03T01:35:47Z

Good work on achieving a top down game! I like the environment you created.

Wordelivery by ytniminty 2023-05-03T01:28:00Z

We need more typing games like this so that I can continue to practice and get better at typing haha! Good job!

Shelly's Delivery by arachnid56 2023-05-04T00:14:46Z

I love how expansive the main game level is and the different eye candy in the level (especially the sunken ship). I did get a little lost when trying to find the octopus though so maybe a arrow indicator or something that points the way to where I need to go might help with that. The cave idea was also really cool and what was there really surprised me! Nice work!

Special Delivery! by cobrajs 2023-05-04T00:19:46Z

This was hilarious! it's almost even funnier when I fail to hit my target and instead get someone else. Good job making the most of this Ludum Dare's theme!

Seagullarity by torte478 2023-05-03T03:26:21Z

Love the calming music, and clever application of the theme! The only critique I can think of is I notice you can accidently send signals while the clipboard is up but that's not likely to happen often at all.

Frantic Folding by J4cko16 2023-05-07T16:29:23Z

I love the polished presentation of the game such as even going so far to include an "about" screen which normally most people don't have time for in the COMPO. The music fits the speedy pace of the game and the pixel art sprites and background look nice. The only thing I would revise for the visuals would be to change the timer font to a pixel styled font to match the rest of the game. Regardless nice work on getting this done for the COMPO!

Delivery Man by the3rdHunter 2023-05-03T03:04:10Z

I like the minimalistic art style and the music was well done. There were some times where I had to take a leap of faith though since the arrow directed me to go a certain way but I did not see anything I could jump to. But I'm glad the arrow is in the game otherwise I would probably get lost.

Regardless nice work on getting this done for the COMPO!

Delivery Man by the3rdHunter 2023-05-05T02:39:36Z

@the3rdHunter Excellent! I hope you'll have great the success with that!

Catnip Caper by ShatteredMindofBob 2023-05-06T04:45:41Z

Yeah having the goal to finish the game is the most important thing and you did that so great job! I wasn't able to find my destination but I enjoyed seeing a pig in the game. And I like how the cat is bouncing circle which is cute.

POSTLORD by zimonitrome 2023-05-07T16:48:19Z

I found the game to be really funny for several aspects! Like how the postman is square shaped like the parcels and that he himself could also fall into the parcel shaft if I wasn't careful and how the physics of the game can cause him to twirl in the air. It's hilarious! One critique I can think of would be to add some sort of visual indicator to show when you have properly grabbed onto a parcel since sometimes I would fail to grab it properly and run away empty handed by accident.

Regardless, nice work on getting this all done for the COMPO!

Puzzle Post by Dean James 2023-05-06T04:01:29Z

I like the colour scheme that was chosen for the game as it's makes it easy to immediately see what objects there are in the level. The controls were a little confusing as I didn't know you could pick up objects again after they are dropped by moving away then back to the tile they exist on. But other than that I had no issues and enjoyed playing the game :)

YouHave10sec by Xamora 2023-05-06T04:25:42Z

I wasn't sure what to do at first as I thought the arrow symbols indicated I needed to press down on a button on my keyboard. But once I figured out I had to move the boxes with my mouse I knew out how to play the game.

Inaka Flowers by SquidGod 2023-05-04T00:45:19Z

This game achieved a serene atmosphere very well and if I'm not mistaken you were strategic in deciding what audio to create or record as what as was in the game was minimal but very effective for what it was. I especially like the piano notes that can be heard when delivering flowers. I didn't make it all the way to Mt. Fuji (unless that was a joke) but I certainly hope it is in the game as that would be a cool reward for making it so far! Great job on the artwork as well.

Taxi by EdWolfKidd230 2023-05-02T15:01:50Z

I was able to play the game using my phone's web browser and I was still able to cross the finish line! :-D

Kick Boxing by deadlycupcake 2023-05-03T23:36:46Z

Definitely one of the more innovative games I've played so far for this Ludum Dare. It does provide a good challenge and fast reflex skills when the box slides on what I believe is ice, and I sort of found it difficult to make much progress in the game after encountering those surfaces. But I think if I played the game on a smaller screen or even on a phone somehow that it could get quite addictive! Nice work getting it made for the COMPO.

Eggs Delivery by yoddaa 2023-05-03T01:49:50Z

I found it hilarious when one or more chickens started spewing a ton of eggs at a fast speed lol! Nice work and the music is very fitting and nice to listen to.
