I like this!
nice work, but my view will stuck when mouse hit the edge of screen for some reason.
@yizao i couldn't figure out how to hide the cursor in the wasm version. @equalenergy, @yizao thanks :)
The concept is very funny and clever! I can only imagine how much back pain I would be in if I had to deliver anvils in real life haha.
nice game, but it would be a little better if we could turn down the volume in the game
@igor-minenko Thanks! I was really time constrained, i ended up working 23 hours. The settings, main menu, ambient occlusion, powerup ui and a bit of physics stabilization were cut :(
I really struggled with this one, the physics seemed really glitchy and my character's run speed would either be really slow or crazy fast. I like the concept of throwing the anvil around as something you can use to dash to.
@chybby The web version is a bit slow and some physics are not tied to timestep (my bad). The run speed is halved if you have the anvil and there is a powerup that makes you go faster if you get it by delivering an anvil in one of the three objectives.
I like the concept (if I understood it correctly) of using the anvil as a stepping stone to reach the platforms and then pulling it back up. However, the physics were quite glitchy and it was very difficult to control the character. Also, jumping while running gave me almost infinite speed.
The base concept of the game would work well in platformer games! :)
Nice game idea, but it the movements were kinda hard and not smooth. Still enjoyed it:)
As is, the game was quite hard to play, with performance problems leading to stuttery audio/graphics (also holding the anvil makes it jitter).
I played for a bit before I realised the help bug would only go away if I press H :)
The anvil attraction is an interesting mechanic. I dropped off the platforms with my first jump and tried to get back up by throwing the anvil up, then pulling myself with E, sadly I didn't manage to pull it off all game (except once on a small ramp). This mechanic has potential though and could be built around.
In the arms...of...an anvil...
ANVILASCEND
...It seems that the anvil can clip into certain walls, and trying to "attract" to it launches you. Curious!
In all seriousness, I agree with other commenters, this is a clever concept—a very clever concept, actually, and I hope you continue to hammer out (pun intended) some of the issues. For me, I experienced many of the physics bugs mentioned by others, it was difficult to get anywhere. Very impressive what you managed to do in 23 hours, I would love to see it polished!
It’s like a reverse God of War game!
The concept was really neat :ok_hand:, it’s just sad it wasn’t a bit more polished.
The physics are very wonky, sometimes it worked pretty well and others it fell flat. Until I realized I can walk backward to get more distance while I throw the anvil and have more sling. Also you can leave the anvil at a corner on top of a building and sling yourself from the ground into space.
Well done!
I found movement to be very smooth, I liked that you included bunny hopping! The music is also pretty good! The biggest irk that I have with this game is that the camera locks when cursor reaches the side of my screen, that was very annoying to deal with. Otherwise, good work, this is a decent little game!
