Interesting mini-game. It was little hard to figure out where the hitboxes were. It might be fun to add more decisions about which items to grab... e.g. maybe you only get 5 tries to grab the best things. Nice work!

Very well executed! It is a bit easy after you get the hang of the hitboxes and not very rewarding, since you can basically get every item, but great job nonetheless! Loved the idea of making a DS game!
A Nintendo DS Game!?! That's awesome! As a retro game loving nerd, I am totally blown away. I hadn't heard of DS Game Maker but now I'm going to check that out. You have either opened up a whole new world to me, or a gigantic new black hole for my time. Either way, I am super grateful!!! Begrudgingly I have to agree with the other comments that there's not a ton of depth to the gameplay, but frankly I don't care. IT'S A DS GAME!!! That's so cool and an accomplishment to be super proud of!!! Way to go!
Thanks to all who played the game so far!
I totally agree there's not much to the gameplay and I wish to share that I was actually making this game for a tutorial as as well as for this game jam, so the game is purposely as simple as possible so that it would be easier to explain and teach while recording the tutorial footage. :D
I hope when it's released you'll consider checking it out from my YouTube channel link below if you're interested in DS Game development. And I thank you again for taking the time to play my game!

very nice game I scored 5500. the opening and drooping claws are also can be controlled which makes it easy to control the items. very good job, and also very interesting formats (DS). :)
Awesome that you made a ds game I think my biggest point of feedback would be to give an obvious indication when the player has gotten a package as I was not sure at the start that I was grabbing anything.
I'm very impressed you made a game for the DS - brings back memories! The game itself isn't really much - there doesn't seem to be a loss condition, and I didn't find a reason to have the arm in any state other than fully extended, but as a technical achievement, well done.
I wanna try to play this on my 3ds, it is jailbroken but I don't have a computer with an sd card writer anymore... if I can find a way to get it working i will update!
I really like the claw machine idea with different prizes inside, that's really cool! The keyboard keys feel kind of unintuitive to me, maybe wasd, and up down arrows, and spacebar for claw would feel better? The fact that you wrote for the DS is really impressive to me, I didn't know one could do that! And making it web friendly as well is great. Very nice
Hehehe really cool! The graphics are really cute and it feels like I am playing on my DS again! I'm quite impressed that you actually made this for a DS, super cool.
It is a really great submission. Making games for Nintendo is crazy and cool!
Didn't realize DS Game Maker was a thing! Pretty cool - thanks for making me aware of it.
Nice game, I liked the artstyle and it's cool that it can run on an actual Nintendo DS.
Cute little game and congrats on getting a DS game made during a jam!
Cool little game. One thing I personally appreciate is just how finicky it is to grab things with the claw -- it's just like using a real claw machine, where it really seems like it should be possible to grab something and then it just doesn't work. Although, I do think it's probably a good thing that it is still much easier to grab things in this game than in a real claw machine... I think it strikes a nice balance between being finicky just like a real claw machine, while being easy enough to use to keep the game moving.
There are two mechanics I do find unclear in the game. One is, I can't tell whether anything I does influences the score, or if it's all based on what items happen to generate. The other is, I can't tell if there's much reason to use the claw lower/raise buttons. With the claw fully lowered, it seems as though it can reach every item available.
I think it could be fun to play with the third dimension in this game. Maybe force the player to lower the claw for every item and then raise it up? I personally sometimes enjoy executing sequences of inputs like that. But, it's possible it wouldn't be very fun. Just an idea.
Overall though, it's always cool to see a DS game, and I enjoy the claw-machine vibes.
