Hard Stuff, punched myself through a wall into a pit :D
..::Q-U-A-L-I-T-Y ::.. Movement reminds me of wario land :)
Whoa. Drugs are bad man :D. Got killed by marbles... Crazy shit.
Wow. Just wow. Dont know what else to say. Excited to read your code. Thanks for the entry, stuff is awesome.
Crazy, stuff. Thankfully i dont have a Oculus, otherwise my brain would have melted :D
Mint graphics. Nicely done!
yeah man, nice one ! At least i tried :D
Hm, I'm probably to hectic. Guy always shot me. Hope I 'll never be in such a situation :D. Great concept!
So well deserved man, fucking mint! <3
After i understood this time-shift mechanic it was quite interesting! Saw your Post Mortem before playing this - awesome job especially in the amount of time you crafted this!
Fits well and challenging ! very cool mechanics. Favourite part is the decision of going the inner (shorter) or outer circle. Game is nerver unfair. would be interesting porting it to a touch device! Maybe tablet? go for it!
Haaaaaaaaaa, oh dear. Shitted my pants. Dude, this is clearly a 5/5 . Still have tears in my eyes from laughing.
Ah what a pity. Would love to see more of this psychic pyramid head shooting lasers from an eyeball at me :D
Cool Stuff. Pretty hard, cool stuff. Love the "need to run away to stay alive but need to hang out in shadows as well" mechanic!
Reminds me of that Simpsons episode. Hail to the rod! :D
Interesting that one sentence with the information of being watched from the dark changes the whole perception of the things going on around you... at least for me ;) very minimalistic and effective. Unfortunately i was being stucked in an endless nightmare, couldn't find the 4th image :(
DIE BABY DIIIIIIIIIIIE!
Look, I have no clue what I have played, BUT I LOVE IT. 10/10 of weirdness - factor. Love when people go wild with their ideas.
FOR GODS SAKE, YOU LITTLE ROCK, GET INTO THIS FRIKKING BASKET!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thankfully i dont work at nasa. probably would have crashed the last mars rover into the white house or something. nice compo entry !
Super good. Some extra work and tweaking and it would be even better!
Love the way you pack the everyday-madness into games. Very smart stuff. 5/5.
Sir, the visuals are stunning! As mentioned before the gameplay is meh. maybe 10 laps is a bit to much? Could need a bit more variety. But, damn you redefined the words style and beauty. Much respect!
OKOK I'm holding it! ;)
Very, very cool. Love the smart Mechanics and the not-unfair design ;)
Links down? :(
Glitching his way to the top of LD27 ;)
What else can be said? Well played sir. Very cool stuff!
yup, keep working on it ! seemed quite interesting. Playing with a Trackpad of my laptop was quite hard though :P
Goddamn squirrels, I'm trying to save you here! Pretty good workaround the theme ;)
HARD AS FUCK. And twice as good. Congratulation, you guyskick ass.
First of all, thank you guys for all the positive comments. Didn't expect that... especially because this isn't a finished game at all. Don't know what happened to the controls. As #Feysoura said: pretty 'nnnaiaeneninmg' . Sorry. Tweaked the values in the last minutes probably to the wrong numbers. Haha, but hey probably the guy your playing is just still dizzy from some poison or whatever :D
@Reverend Speed: Animation was just simply Keyframes with the build in Animation Editor in Unity. Just altering the orientation of the FPS Cam and setting keyframes (carefully or you run into a gimbal lock). Fast and dirty solution ;)
By the way, saw that you updated your upload as a jam entry. Concept is amazing. Gonna try the new version out in a sec!
And again, thanks to everyone. Feels really good being part of the Ludum Dare compo/crunch - hell. Cool thing to see what all you gays made within 48h. Ok up for more rating now :)
ok that looks... um unpolite. i meant "guys". not gays :D no offense, no offense , haha
Ah, i see... Nice idea though. Hoping to see the jam result!
I really like the concept of implemented small worlds, because these are often more detailed. I'd replace the 10 seconds switch behavior with user controlled switching and add more details/puzzles with the characters helping each other or something. Anyways, invested work is never lost. As you said, this will be at least helpful in future projects!
Seriously. If the game was shit, you would have won the whole thing for the intro itself. On top of this the game is truly amazing. Smiled more than once. Keep up the work on crack. who dislikes crack anyway? :D
Getting faster, typing more and more letters.... Aaaah the music gets faster as well, it stresses me out!!! but its so damn goooood!
Nice concept and crazy good work for 24 hours! Some more sounds would make it twice as good instantly for sure.
Haha, feel certainly stronger! being precise, 60 times stronger as before :D Need another workout rrrright noooow *flexingvirtualmuscles*
Unbieleavable good concept for the theme!
Aaaaaaw, poor thingys. Why did they have to try out those rafts :D
Cool stuff, would be killer with music within the levels!
Cool stuff, but some rooms to try&error-ish. The repetitive play of some harder rooms destroys the atmosphere (for me). First time i went over 10 seconds in a room was pretty scary ;)
Whoa Counterstrike on NES! Good ol' days ;)
Haha, like the randomness! nice one.
Are drugs as bad as everybody says? Probably. But man, what a trip!!!
Reminds me on this NES game where your goal was to scare a family out of "your house" by manipulating things. A pity that this one isn't finished yet :/
Wow. Mind blowing presentation. Nice abstract and refreshing style. Very interesting to fiddle around and get used to the mechanics, BUT still very hard to find and erase all of the memories... Maybe because I suck in memory management at programming :D
Did you work with matrices? Really love the way the images are generated. Imagine this stuff projected on a wall and maybe controlled by a touchpad - that would be killer.
This was one of these brilliant WTF moments of ludum dare. The style is out of this world. The game is a bit slow in the beginning (probably because I was rushing a bit...) but the the idea is supercool. The battles remind me a bit of Dragon Force on Sega Saturn (*sigh* miss that one). The first battle I fought was with a heap of pixels while the slig and the neighbors dodos-thing were in..., well, you know... :D
Very twisted entry, with a surprisingly depth in narrative & mechanics.
Dude, you rock. I really like if mechanics expand outside of the real game. Maybe I should delete my cookies and try again ;)
Love the idea, but unfortunately my artsy beard creation was replaced with a full beard after pressing submit :(
Wait.. you didn't implement this on purpose, did you ;)
Hm . Threw the star on top of the tree from 25m distance ~350 points, from 50m to underneath the tree: 1500 points :D Well some families have strange tree decoration behaviors ;)
Warm graphics and solid player controls, but the music loop is a bit annoying after a while.
YEESSSS! Congrats for this one. Veeeeery smooth gameplay, loving it. Network play would be awesome. Only thing is: I really don't like time constraints -.-
Apart from that its brilliant game with an awesome style!
Ok this is the only windows-only game with no web version i played. Took me nearly 40 min to set everything up on that whacky old machine I have. 120 Updates included.
But I have to say it was worth it. Last level was a blast. The audio ratings int the end are hilarious (but not surprising - I really DO suck at playing the most games...)
Good work on the art and animations as well. Snow effect is super nice, blood fountains are killer - but don't like the gui stuff. Looks to clean and , um, to rectangular. (?) ^^
Cheers for the source, going to have a look into this next ;)
Conflei says ...

Very Cool! But the boss is invencible!
What? there is even a boss? Didn't even get this far... And I'm not talking about a short 5 min play session here o_O. Obviously my platformer skills are more than poor... Anyways a fun game! I mean a chicken with a laser gun... Instant winner :D
Pleeeeease, mac or web version? Need to play it, screenshots look epic! And you said its better than Braid, so it must be!
How is it even possible to build up such a good mechanic within 48 hours? Alternate Character? Achievements? Supergood.
First few plays i died, the first one i hit the opponent felt awesome!
Battles are even better if both of the gunman fail to hit and need to reload. Very nice stuff there.
Ha, I'm the worst peeler ever! Way to dangerous, I'll stick to frozen pizza ;)
Clicking to get a new potato seemed to be a bit buggy. Got a new one on ever 4th click or so :/ Funny idea though!
The whole sea bottom was covered with skeletons :D
DIE PIRATES!
And all of this was made in 48h? Phew. Super complex mechanics implemented for that short amount of time. Cool stuff. Only "complain": As some others mentioned as well, the UI is a bit confusing.
One of the most frustrating at the same time and fun games i ever played. Don't know if I should love or hate you for this. After I managed to get past the rope-elevator in the second room after 1000 tries i ended up in the next gap and had to start in the beginning of the room. Maybe I'll give it later another try, for now I need to calm down a bit, before I smash my keyboard a second time ;)
Anyways, unbelievable good entry. Even without sound.
Cant go wrong with sharks! Saw the first screenshot of this last weekend in a post of yours and it turned out quite well! I really like the mix of the different mechanics and enemies. Well done!
Solid concept, with some whacky controls. A bit frustrating is mouse clicks arent recognized for shooting the nazi mice.Pffaahaha. Nazi mice and Kmembert. :D
Win only? Bummer. Why does someone need a Mac to compile to OSX from GMS? Too bad :(
Instant winner.
Bugs :
Other than mentioned before, the music started not in the beginning but in the 4-th level or so. But what I heard then was damn good ;)
More than this, the character walked all of sudden to the upper screen itself. couldn't do anything about it but to restart.
Apart from that, it's a hell of a game. Nothing else to say. Looking forward to your next LD submission!
Hard to play without swipe controls. But its made for mobile anyways, so its a quite solid game! As Zatyka said, the Virtual buttons could be replaced with touch gestures indeed. Unfortunately the relation to the theme isn't clear to me as well :/
Shit this car accelerates with fucking light speed :D Instant crash the first time.
Instant crash the 34th time. Best SFX ever.
Steering could be a bit faster in relation to the speed of the car.
I literally played a gazillion times until i managed to get all items. Somewehere inbetween i freaked out, because this $'*! grabbed the last printer available in front of my eyes. At this point, i tackled the others on purpose :D
But i managed to check out once, it only cost me about 8000 quid. Best buy ever.
You really managed to nail down this chaotic feeling of christmas mayhem.
5 stars from me.
BTW: Thumbs up for the music and sfx as well ;)
Clever concept, definitely worth putting some more work into polishing! Only thing that sucked was that i stepped into the "goal" with on character, while i needed to step on a switch to help the other one, but couldn't move the on stepped into the beam-thingy anymore :( kinda frustrating and a very harsh punishment for my dumbness ;)
Ok now I see how people feel when playing my entry... Unfortunately very unplayable with a laptop without numb lock (Additionally I suck at finding the numbers at the top of the keyboard fur sure...). Wait...there is a hard mode, too? Give me a sec, brb. ---- Ok. Even with a numblock impossible for me :D
But there is something about the style I really like. Cant even point at it.
An easy mode would have been nice, and maybe more time for typing the numbers in? I mean there is no reason to register a "mistake" if the numbers are out of screen still being busy at typing. I had them in my head and could have typed them in even if the new number would have appeared.
Overall mood is great by the way!
Win only? :( Possible to get a web or mac build?
Thanks for the Mac port! Run animations of the professor are super nice (The jetpack dogs, too - of course :D )
Solid and funny entry. Is it possible to rescue the kitty after a certain amount of waves anyway?
Stars can play baseball too? I Knew it ! LOVE the music and sfx (especially @ intro :D ). Pretty hard to play with a trackpad though. Bookmarked for some more more playing with a mouse later on.
Again, nice work man!
Great potential, and cool character designs! And yes, I DID try to kill the boss with the gunner robot ^^
Nice concept. Sometimes the spawn time of the numbers you need is too long and unfortunately my browser(s) crashes as well when completing the first level :/
I have no idea what i just played, but i played it 23 times. Tears in my eyes from laughing.
Well made, sir(s) :)
Obviously this was made with mobile as the target platform in mind (if one looks at the resolution). My 13" laptop screen allowed to see only 1/3 of the web player :) So it wasn't easy to get this far. Made it to 600 [distance] after that ist got pretty hard because of the screen resolution. Don't get the connection to the theme though :/
Crazy good idea of using (the superb) sfx with the usual methamphetabear style.
Dope stuff.
Seems like my system doesn't like java at all.... Newest Java version installed. Doesnt even throw an error. :(
Ok cool stuff, but I cant play it for longer than 2 min. I got off cookie clicker recently and cant get into the next thing again :D
No worries, you guys get a good rating from my side ;)
I love the concept, but it's reeeeally hard to manage the balancing of the plates. Didn't make it once to collect all the dishes :(
A Strange bug before every run: after walking a few steps to the first table, the character started spinning himself on a random axis, leaving me upside down with my head on the floor. While this happened, I was asked to left/right click like 5-8 times. After that everything went back to normal with my feet on the floor. Happened before every run ("party"-level). Funny though :D
Hi guys,
thanks for playing and dropping the comments! Yeah, game is pretty hectic, haven't had the time for tuning or adding another character. Spend a full night on painting the sprite sheets. Never done that before, and lost too much time.
Wish it was longer with some challenges though.
Theme is about "getting only one attack" for fighting... Thought it would be more recognizable. If it isn't, sorry for that. After a while being so close to a thing it's hard to judge if people get something you held for obvious all the time. Could be the lack of sleep o_O
@Nelien: Hah, ~6 seconds is pretty good. Other people say the opposite. You should have seen the first version. Broke the letter "D" on my keyboard. No shit :D
As I mentioned in the comments before, the deadline was forcing me to cut the stuff i wanted to implement in the first place. Wanted to polish this one a bit more. My roommate suggested network play, lets see if i get this stuff done as well. Ok playing more games now... Next up: yours :)
Hey guys, thanks for the criticism. For the most part I'm aware of what should be improved, but, you know, time constraints, 48h, etc ;)
@ Joror : yep totally right. All this should have been there. That was before I realized I had only 1h left to submit my game and there wasn't any sound at all in it... DOH!
@ jimmypaulin : Gotcha! Nice idea there! Will put some more work in this
Sorry for the typing speed. It should have some difficult level. For people that cant type a bit faster it is probably impossible to play :(
What a lousy detective I am... As everyone else said, solid entry!
Sometimes the Crew members refer to themselves with their name which is a bit weird. Like the smooth BG music, fits very good to the investigation feeling
One of the most fitting games to the topic I've seen now! And indeed the last level IS hard.
By far one of the best (if not THE best) LD game i played so far. How is it even possible to get something like that done in such a short time?
Absolutely brilliant from the art to the music and of course the gun mechanic. Bravo! 5/5
I OFFICIALLY DEMAND MORE CONTENT IN A NEWER VERSION! (+ what KWL_TW said)
You know, there are games I play a few seconds, and some a few minutes. Sometimes closing the tab, because the game lost me. And then there are games I do play to the end. This was one of these. Kept me going with its simplicity. Everytime I think there won't be a game with cubes that makes me stick to it, something like this comes around the corner.
Once you understand the system its pretty easy. With some more work put into it and some more levels it would be a solid puzzler! Said someone touch controls ? ;)
All in all, very well done sir!
Ok being a fan of "The Thing" this rating is a no brainer. The music fucking rocks and fits supergood. Only thing is as mentioned by others the text speed. Especially at a second play. But probably hard to solve, because of the timer in the background...
Again, a very nice result of jamming :)
Cool mechanic. Didn't get it at first while reading the instructions, but when I saw it in action it was pretty self explaining.
Buttons fading in short before the button line is cool, spices up the reaction.
After understanding the behavior it becomes pretty easy though.
With more art assets and animations (and enemy levels?) this would be twice as good! I demand more bloooooood >.<
I get where you wanted to go, but there isn't enough feedback to the answered questions in the end. A few sentences about the status quo with a camera focusing the earth isn't very satisfying for the player. The main idea is pretty cool and ambitious, I just wished for more consequences or maybe some more visual feedback.
Just my 2 cents ;)
If there was no audio, I probably wouldn't mind playing this more than 10 seconds. But with the sounds you provided it is, well, not fun, but... it works. I don't know what it is, but it gets to me. I found the rain audio very supporting for the mood. Raindrops sounded rather realistic, while the thunder is more like chip generated.
After i dropped the rose I literally stood there for 2 minutes, listening to the sounds. Felt like I was outside :)
Not quite the definition of fun, but a lot of atmosphere/mood in there.
A nice shooter you made there! Some kick-ass music, lovely art (love the face of the witch if you collect a special weapon) and a nice mechanic with the mana ball. Some bugs here and there, but the core and the gameplay feel solid!
Funny. Came here because of your particle tutorial on your YT channel (BTW thanks for that, pretty cool workflow with after effects, especially the AE Vector effect! Just rad.) for playing around in my Post-LD entry. Would have missed the entry otherwise .
The obvious problems were mentioned before, don't have something to add here. Cool idea, love the creature design, but unfortunately a capsule as the hero... I know, I know, time constraints. I'm only saying I'd have loved to see the main character modeled & animated as good as the creatures. And of course implementing sounds. The environment would be so much creepier with some dungeon SFX! Again, not criticizing, just mentioning ;)
That might sound weird, but I find the tutorial very well done, too. Impressive what information some little sketches can transport .
AI is simple but works quite surprisingly good. Never thought it would be that hard to keep those little %&/& away from me.
Ok lots of bla, never mind - Nice work all in all!
First unity game ever? In 48 hours?? Phew. Respect.
Couldn't get past this darn cliffs... As hazzen said, some mid-air control would be nice.
Anyways, good job!
This minute feels really short, with more polish it would have been a 5/5 ;)
"and my original plan was to do something small in 20h" Haha, sounds familiar. Had like 4h sleep at the weekend. Really short game, but the style is killer man! Super smooth animations (even if you didn't spend so much time on them). Thanks for the source as well, Im really interested in rhythm mechanics in general. Again, kudos for this!
One hell of an entry. From the graphics to the animations (drawing the bow = reeeeally cool!) to the gameplay - smooth and beautiful.
Once in wave 9 or so there was this level2 monster I couldn't beat with my arrow, no matter how often I tried, so the time ran out. Known hitbox problem?
Amazing what you can do with a rock solid mechanic and some doodles :) Cat = best sidekick in video game history :D
Alway missed puppies in Tony Hawk games ;) . Lovely.
Sir, this is pretty damn funny! We need more punishment for player interactions ! Poor narrator... :D
I really suck at flying, thats for sure :( The guys at the bottom think the same :D
A bit like tiny wings on acid ^-^
Hey pretty solid stuff. The gatling feels rad! At leas i didnt fail in saving the humanity like in other games ^^
Nice one. A bit to short i was thinking the first time. Damn, this is hard, I thought after that. Didn't managed this after 1000 tries :(
With some audio this stuff would be even better!
Amazing use of the theme!
Nice and simple. What else can I say? Nyan nyan nyan nya nya nya nyaaaan nyan nyan ;)
Thanks so much for putting a web version up. Would have been a shame to miss this one!
Fucking rocks.
Didn't like the microphone parts though (failed every game with it o_O)
5/5 from me .Looking forward to your next entry ;)
Being not the biggest fan of pixel art, this one blew me away instantly. The sound design is out of this world and even if the concept is well known its even more unbelievable doing something like this within 3 days. There is no doubt about it, you'll be in the top 3. 5/5!
Doesn't fit the theme very well, but fuck that, I dig this shit. I am in love with the visuals. Guys, please, more of this!
Ok first thing I did was reloading the game, for being sure the music doesn't com from one of my other open tabs :D
I like these kind of things. Exciting to see how the world will evolve.
But here is a question for people saying the game is too short: Is it really that short, or even extra-ever-lasting long? ;)
Hey, the game suggested that I should be a teacher! Haha, what a horrible idea that would be! But I like the evaluation of the choices. The audio supports the feeling of the game pretty well. The jumping sound annoyed me after a while though and some answers are packed into a bit to much text for my taste. The blurry text in the beginning could be sharper by having a bigger font size, scaled down for your needs. Just my 2 cents, because I think its better to give some input for improvements.
Nevertheless, your wifes voice is charming :D
The style reminds me a bit of charlie brown. In a very light speed walk-ish year-consuming way ;P
Cool stuff, hope it was a good LD experience!
And the girl has to do all the housework as usual -.- Great game and amazingly complex for a 48h jam! The little princess-platformer levels spice things up very nice. What else to say? Boooze ? :D
Superawesomishious!
