Apr 21 10:33:13 Mr. Cheesy ♥ 1 This is such a creative and well executed idea! It fits the theme and the jam perfectly. Two things: (1) slow to respond sometimes; (2) could scalate difficulty slower.
Apr 21 13:55:27 3h 22m Gophers ♥ 1 Ok, this is amazing. The presentation is very good, I liked the simplicity of the gameplay, and it has a good atmosphere due to the music.
Apr 21 14:02:15 6m 48s Hostage Escape ♥ 1 Dude, this is awesome! Music, gameplay and visuals. I like how everything was placed together - fits the theme perfectly.
Apr 21 14:45:37 43m 22s Sh'bolga: The Sprawling Terror, Devourer of Souls ♥ 3 Haha awesome :) A 5 star game for me. The music kept me hooked until the very end and I like the mix of 3D and 2D. Sh'bolga looks very cool and creepy, fitting the game and the theme. So it seems I'm not the only one that made a weird game :)
Apr 21 15:03:42 18m 05s You Live Like This? ♥ 1 This is fire! Nice music, game fits the theme perfectly, the voice overs are a good addition to help the atmospher. So far, this is probably the best interpretation of "keep it alive" that I've seen.
Apr 21 15:26:25 22m 43s Eat preys, love ♥ 3 I think this is my favorite game in the jam so far. Fits the theme perfectly, nice mood and atmosphere, calming and with a good amount of gameplay, even if a bit grindy, it is actually very playable and fun. 5-stars.
Apr 21 16:36:29 1h 10m Tower Defence of the Heart ♥ 1 Haha the music :)
Apr 21 16:38:35 2m 06s The curse of Ah Puch ♥ 3 This is really cool. I love Mayan things and this captures it.
Apr 21 16:41:34 2m 59s The Well of the Past ♥ 1 The amount of content that you managed to pour into this is impressive. The atmosphere, due to the music, is so so good. Plus points for Godot and for mentioning the musical instruments (as for someone that is learning music, I appreciate it).
Apr 21 16:48:56 7m 22s Lamps ♥ 4 Beautiful and nice atmosphere. If there is a dog, I'm sold :) The thing is, I got stuck in the basement, I think. But good game overall. Caught the attention of my wife as well (which is not a gamer).
Apr 21 18:01:29 1h 12m Mr. Fluff ♥ 1 Haha I shot the rabbit initially as well. I think this fits the theme very very nicely. You nailed it.
Apr 21 18:20:08 18m 39s Dunkegg ♥ 2 Rated 5 stars. Funny and beautiful. Top notch.
Apr 21 18:22:13 2m 05s Keep it burning! ♥ 1 Love the gameplay, visuals and sound. By the way, that's a big team - how did you guys coordinate in this short time? Honest question, because next time I want to work in a team since I always work alone and I can't imagine sharing tasks with that many people in just 2 days.
Apr 21 18:25:57 3m 44s Eclipse - Chip Hunt ♥ 1 Good smooth controls. I like how the atmosphere is very fitting.
Apr 21 18:34:01 8m 04s The Village ♥ 3 My way to describe it is that it feels rich - I liked it! Btw, you said: _This game was too much for our first time and some aspects are incomplete_ - welcome to game jams! ✌️
Apr 21 18:36:52 2m 51s Sons of the Boulder Goddess ♥ 2 Looks like a published game. Nice work, guys.
Apr 21 18:40:20 3m 28s Feed Me ♥ 3 So much fun :) And this kind of pixel art is eye candy.
Apr 21 19:13:53 33m 33s Angst ♥ 6 I commented on Twitter already, but there it goes again: well done! I love that you worked on something about anxiety and blackouts! I had so many anxiety blackouts in the past, and it feels terrible.
Apr 21 19:18:19 4m 26s Crystal Core ♥ 0 For just 8h, that is good enough :) If you are going to work on improving it, my feedback is that it should ramp difficulty slower. It gets very hard in the very beginning.
Apr 21 19:20:58 2m 39s Aniyah ♥ 0 Even although there are no character animations, I liked the visuals. Also the music fits the game nicely.
Apr 21 19:22:40 1m 42s Bondfire ♥ 2 > You’re a Baby Fire fire living in a forest with your Mama Fire fire That sold me immediatelly. The only thing is that I got stuck surrounded. But overall, I liked it!
Apr 21 19:24:03 1m 23s Nekotchi ♥ 2 Cute, adorable and fits the theme perfectly!
Apr 21 19:31:10 7m 07s Human Spiderweb ♥ 1 A lot of points for adding the voice-over. As a long time fan of your work, from a distance I can identify the art style belonging to you :) The concept fits the theme and the art. By the way, the graphics I made in my game were only possible because I learned from you. I'm addicted to that style now.
Apr 21 19:39:29 8m 19s Keep It Alive ♥ 1 I like the music and how the visuals connect. But you were right on the post mortem about difficulty :)
Apr 21 19:52:37 13m 08s Cthulhu: The Cult Must Not Die ♥ 3 Awesome graphics and mood. I got a bit frustrated with the controls/battles, but overall, fits the theme well! Well done!
Apr 22 04:23:47 8h 31m Picturesque ♥ 1 I loved every aspect of this: the art, the context, the content and the originality. Also additional points for also creating a narrative game!
Apr 22 04:34:21 10m 34s TankMan Phil ♥ 1 Cool homage to the past :) The voice overs definitely help the mood and feeling of the gameplay. Plus points for a game with a Kaiju and Mount Fuji. Maybe I found a bug: after the 1st powerup spawned, I shot it, and then as I was trying to shoot the creatures, no bullet would hit them again, so I just died.
Apr 22 04:37:34 3m 13s Yandere Emulator ♥ 2 I felt it intense and the OST adds to that. Also: > There’s six endings to get. Can you get them all? I didn't get them all, but plus points for multiple endings. Adds to the fun and "mystery".
Apr 22 04:41:49 4m 15s A.R.S - Alien Rescue Simulator ♥ 4 The description alone started by making me smile: _in a mission to rescue the intergalactic tardigrade._. I agree with @disperse above, feels like coming out of the NES/SNES! Adding narration helped the immersion a lot.
Apr 22 04:49:33 7m 44s Birb Island ♥ 1 I really liked it, I think the mechanics blend well with the theme. _Audio cue to let you know how hungry the baby bird was_ - since there was no audio I tried to imagine this while playing xD
Apr 22 04:51:44 2m 11s Raid on LudumBay ♥ 1 This is awesome. Even the screenshots sold the game for me immediatelly. Love those kinds of visuals. Just had a hard time with the controls, but everything else makes it for a cool game!
Apr 22 04:55:43 3m 59s Keep it, Alice ♥ 2 I am surprised on how much content there is in this. I mean, a bit of the same, but still, lot of gameplay here.
Apr 22 04:57:50 2m 07s A Night In The Dark ♥ 1 Great visuals. The game itself reminds of Minit. And I have read your Post Mortem, it is cool to see you developing the engine further in the jam.
Apr 22 05:00:14 2m 24s Gardening Angel Kung Fu ♥ 0 This was so fun! As a maker of weird games myself, I love seeing other weird / outworldly games in Ludum Dare. Gameplay wise, it is kind of easy to "cheat the system", but the overall experience is cool.
Apr 22 05:02:53 2m 39s No Fish To Die ♥ 1 Whoa, those visuals and level design <3 Kind of escalates too quickly, but overall, good!
Apr 22 05:04:54 2m 01s LifeForm ♥ 4 Ok, mind blowing! I love how it pressures you to take care of the guy. Plans of making this a full game?
Apr 22 05:08:08 3m 14s A Desperate Theif ♥ 1 Hahah I like how you thought about it for this theme :) Also the minimalistic pixel art is a nice touch.
Apr 22 05:33:12 25m 04s Doin' It Live ♥ 2 hahaha what a fun idea. I felt so happy playing this.
Apr 22 05:35:03 1m 51s Dino spin ♥ 3 Sweet, sweet, sweet visuals. Mindblowing production quality in the game overall, as well.
Apr 22 05:37:42 2m 39s Hope ♥ 0 I think you nailed it with this game! Minimalistic and cohesive art style, fits the theme well. I left wanting more, so I'll check your previous Ludum Dare games to see more of your work.
Apr 22 05:48:12 10m 30s A tale of Rebirthism ♥ 1 Ok, this was so so so cool! First, love seeing a surrealist / weird game in Ludum Dare. I'm a sucker for weird games. Second, the atmosphere feels so good and I don't know whether that was your intention or not, but the music aligned with the space background made me feel cozy and relaxed for some reason. I'm bad at hard games, but I like how the game doesn't punish you and instead it just continues.
Apr 22 06:10:00 21m 48s Dance Commander ♥ 5 As I was playing I was thinking the dance "circles" look like "virus" risk zones haha :) Too bad I am bad at games like this, but the game was very good anyway!
Apr 22 06:15:29 5m 29s Something Magical ♥ 1 What a nice, contemplative and chill experience. I always prefer non gameplay intensive games, such as narrative games and games like this one, where there is just... contemplation. Kudos for adding eye candy.
Apr 22 06:19:21 3m 52s Devil Devour Alive ♥ 1 OMFG this was so cool, because it has everything I love about games: retro visuals, retro music and weirdness. Many more points for even adding a PS1-like cover for it.
Apr 22 06:22:52 3m 31s FEED HOLE ♥ 3 A weird/surrealist game? For that reason, you already get a lot of points from me. I loved how evertyhing connects in this game. Initially from the screenshots I thought it would be a take on Donut County, but after playing I saw it is its own game.
Apr 22 06:27:13 4m 21s Damocle's Sword ♥ 4 I liked the backstory. Gameplay wise it escalates in difficulty too quickly, but overall the pieces are glued well together. Two recommendations about Ludum Dare itself: (1) add screenshots to this page; (2) if possible, try moving the download to Itch.io, I think some people may be turned off by Mediafire (due to ads and known site to share piracy).
Apr 22 06:34:29 7m 16s VITAL 2020 ♥ 1 This is intense and a very good take on the theme. Probably the most literal interpretation of keeping alive. Also the UI fits your intention so well.
Apr 22 06:57:51 23m 22s Mycelium ♥ 1 Really cool visuals, the purple art direction is lovely.
Apr 22 07:21:58 24m 07s Germicide ♥ 2 Really cool visuals, but as everyone else is pointing out, dragging was hard.
Apr 22 07:24:35 2m 37s Rampage ♥ 1 I keep coming back to this game for the music.
Apr 22 07:38:17 13m 42s Until it blooms ♥ 1 This is very beautiful and touching.
Apr 22 07:49:21 11m 04s Feed Pete ♥ 2 synced.gif Love the bouncy and synced stuff to the music. The visuals are lovely.
Apr 22 08:24:48 35m 27s Fleur Defense ♥ 5 Amazing aesthetics, I love specially the plant design and coloring.
Apr 22 08:37:53 13m 05s Will of the Wisp ♥ 1 Codewise, very interesting to see a React game. I think this wins the music side. I am curious for the music creation process, with the same questions as @peterfiftyfour :)
Apr 22 09:06:07 28m 14s Tumbleweed ♥ 3 Beautiful and very atmospheric :)
Apr 22 09:11:18 5m 11s Plantlings ♥ 1 Good idea that fits the theme well. The color palette is relaxing!
Apr 22 09:12:49 1m 31s Heart Combustion ♥ 0 The idea fits the theme so well!
Apr 22 09:17:15 4m 26s Keep the party alive ♥ 1 Heheh that's a cool one. A bit confusing at first, but I think I got it. Tip: add screenshots to this page.
Apr 22 09:26:59 9m 44s Just Fishing ♥ 1 Love the looks and the atmosphere. Also, plus points for making a fishing game :)
Apr 22 12:12:58 2h 45m Bodyguard for Chicken ♥ 1 Cool idea, with awesome music!
Apr 22 12:18:11 5m 13s Harvest Saga ♥ 0 It was a bit of trial and error before understanding what to do, but after that it is a very relaxing and minimalistic farming game, which I liked!
Apr 22 12:28:45 10m 34s Final Flower: Petals of a Lost Age ♥ 1 Whoa, solid and with good content for a jam game!
Apr 22 12:56:11 27m 26s The Dark Cave ♥ 1 LIMBO feelings (which is good). The mood on this is top notch. Well done! Finished it and gotta say the final corridor let my years bleeding xD Other than that, impressive.
Apr 22 13:37:08 40m 57s For Ducks' Sake ♥ 2 Hahahah this is so funny and well done. The visuals are amazing, but the humour wins.
Apr 22 14:09:20 32m 12s ALURTE ♥ 1 Top notch atmosphere, and I really like how you chose your idea: _Explore, discover a foreign and forgotten language but be careful, there is something else in these caves._, this helps the mood and originality even more.
Apr 22 16:08:42 1h 59m The Little Bakery of Horrors ♥ 1 Fast pace with lovely and cute art :D
Apr 23 07:04:27 14h 55m My Egg and I ♥ 1 This is a really cool concept, it has something which most game jam games don't have: replay factor and addictiveness, also it is perfect to play around with the family to see who gets the farthest, since it is very challenging, yet fun. The music helps the fun. I didn't go far, after many tries, but I'll come back to it on the weekend to try to finish it hahaha
Apr 23 08:18:58 1h 14m Egde Fault ♥ 1 I liked this and I can see what you tried to achieve if you had more time, specially regarding the enemy feedback. By the way, good to see another 3D Godot game on this LD Jam (normally in jams Godot is mostly used for 2D)! I also made a 3D game with Godot.
Apr 23 09:05:13 46m 15s The Lightwielder - Ludum Dare 46 ♥ 0 - Gameplay wise, a bit confusing. - Magical visuals and sound effects, reminds me of Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery. - The intro alone made me feel meeting some Ethereal beings, the feel of mystery around the "Lord" guy is awesome.
Apr 23 21:06:43 12h 01m Aviarium ♥ 1 What a relaxing game! AWESOME art (well, I'm a sucker for those types of visuals, you can tell because I also created a low res, PS1/90s game), relaxing sounds and atmosphere, and original and unique idea. Took me 15 minutes to complete. I voted 5 stars for everything, except humor. They are so cute! cutebird.png If you are going to keep working, a mouse camera movement is a must.
Apr 24 09:13:52 12h 07m Grove Guardian ♥ 1 5 stars game for me, delightful and impressive amount of gameplay for a jam game. You definitely nailed the game jam "survival rules" by focusing on the gameplay content. I don't have any other feedback to give, it's impressive.
Apr 24 10:42:42 1h 10m Egdar's Blobs ♥ 0 Awesome visuals, as always, Noa! Also nice atmopshere due to the music. It's crazy what has been put together, gameplay wise, in so short time. Great that you focused on the main element of a game jam: gameplay.
Apr 24 10:47:54 5m 12s Abandoned ♥ 1 Good to see another Godot game! Kudos for multiple endings and for packing it up with the gameplay. Could be a bit faster, but the main elements are all here.
Apr 24 10:49:49 1m 55s Keep the Love Alive ♥ 0 Wow, to be honest this feels smooth and I felt like re-playing and re-playing, which is rare for a GameJam game. Also plus for another Godot game!
Apr 24 10:51:53 2m 04s Operator ♥ 0 That was a funny idea, attacking the conspiracists (5g - Corona), although in the gameplay I just kind of felt random. But also kudos for another Godot game!
Apr 24 11:53:51 1h 01m Please Feed My Troll ♥ 1 This is possibly the most different gameplay implemented in this jam that I've seem so far, cool! I have 2 points regarding your publication itself, not the game: 1) Description about the game 2) Pack the game into a zip instead of a installer. I've seem other Game Maker games which you just unzip and play. That's funny: IQuit.png
Apr 25 07:06:56 19h 13m ALIEN RESCUE ♥ 0 Fun to play and actually I found it quite full of humour. It wins in the soound department.
Apr 25 08:02:24 55m 28s Garden Royale ♥ 1 LOVED the visuals. The description itself made me smile but then when playing it was definitely a very fuynny game, but def. the trees are my favorite thing in this game. Lack of sound takes away a bit of the mood.
Apr 25 08:10:27 8m 03s Doctor Lit ♥ 2 - Awesome graphics, smooth character walk animation. The dithered mood overall is very cool. - Music fits the game perfectly, but then it asks for sound effects for the actions - which would help the mood further. - The best part is the concept and idea you tried to implement. Albeit not fully implement, this could turn into a very good final product. - Bug: I kept getting undefined items with negative amounts
Apr 25 08:12:24 1m 57s Ubergine ♥ 4 I liked the animations, but the gameplay drove me insane, because I'm really bad at fast action games like that. Regardless, kudos for implementing gameplay and wich a replay factor - rare in jams.
Apr 25 08:20:33 8m 09s Isochronism ♥ 1 Takes a lot of time to load, but I'm glad that I waited. I don't know what to call the genre of the game, but I liked it, never saw something like this before. Music reminds of Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne. Any reason for the intro not having any sound and it starting only after the intro? It would add to the mood and feeling.
Apr 25 08:24:18 3m 45s Friendly Fire ♥ 3 I was going to comment on the amount of persons in the team but @ciaranw beat me to it! That's a lot of coordination for a gamejam. Adds to the insanity of the time limit 🐶 Care to write how to do team coordination in a post mortem or so? I think it would be interesting and could encourage (or discourage) people to work on teams - I'm one that is still convinced to work alone because it is hard enough to talk to yourself hahah :) - Impressive amount of content in the game, very Terraria Like - I love the ground and grass tiles - Eerie music adds to the mood and atmosphere - Love how the protagonist initially has a "don't care" attitude and then builds up
Apr 25 08:38:07 13m 49s LAMPCHASERS ♥ 3 Holy cow, that's a big team :) Any chance for a post mortem, including how to do team coordination in 3 days? I'd go insane. To be honest, not much to say about the game: beautiful, moody and awesome audio. From the screenshots I had a Don't Starve feeling, when you go down caves, but after playing I notice it has nothing to do with it.
Apr 25 08:44:44 6m 37s Dragon Egg ♥ 1 This is so cool. Fits the theme well, very original. Love the CRT effect on top of everything and the music is very fitting. I just think it ramped in difficulty too quickly, could be ajusted to be a final product, because it has potential.
Apr 25 08:46:55 2m 11s HealWall ♥ 1 5-stars for innovation and theme! I think you nailed the concept of the theme pretty well with this one, it was kind of mind bending for me.
Apr 25 08:51:07 4m 12s Responsibility ♥ 1 Well, that's quite impressive, got my attention and kept me hooked. Literal interpretation of the theme done right, cool visual perspective - isometric, which I love.
Apr 25 09:02:50 11m 43s Feed the Machine ♥ 2 I was very attracted by the visuals and art direction, feels "dirty" and moody. But then I got lost in the gameplay. Regardless, I think if you keep working, you could make it a final published product - it has potential.
Apr 25 09:05:26 2m 36s Save the sun MAN ♥ 1 Love the graphics, the ducks are so cute. I think the concept is original and cool, plan to make polish and publish it post-jam?
Apr 25 09:06:43 1m 17s Pizza with a Pulse ♥ 4 Hilarious and beautiful visuals. Got a bit frustrated trying to understand, but I kept hooked to it and it was worth it.
Apr 25 09:09:37 2m 54s SAVE THE DINOS! ♥ 1 Fun and original take on the save the dinos concept. Initially reminded me of Dino Run 2 by Pixeljam, but then the added laser made it original.
Apr 25 09:12:40 3m 03s Drop the egg Jeff ♥ 1 That's really funny and fits the theme so well, albeit very challenging.
Apr 25 09:14:36 1m 56s KeepAlive ♥ 2 I think this is the most original game I've seem in this edition of the jam so far. Fits the theme so well and I don't even know where to start to describe about the concept - just that it is impressive.
Apr 25 09:49:35 34m 59s Spacewhale Multiverse (Only You Can Save The) ♥ 1 When I first saw the screenshots, I started singing in my head the theme song of Whale Trail from ustwo games, because of the whale :) But after playing, it is very different from that game. I loved the art style and I think the controls were just right.
Apr 25 09:54:39 5m 04s Lost Goblins ♥ 3 I saw your writeup about the level generation, quite awesome to see it in action. I agree with @hangarter on being able to zoom tho :)
Apr 25 10:57:28 1h 02m Power plant ♥ 2 Mind blowing game for one made in a jam, specially considering that you made it for the Compo. How did you even pack a tutorial mode? Did you use a premade framework? A huge scope for a gamejam, but an original idea, with potential (Factorio feelings). I think you should continue it and pack as a finished game.
Apr 25 11:13:05 15m 37s Flame Keeper ♥ 1 The game kept me hooked until the end. There is an air of mystery due to the sound effects and the way the level is built, that I was loving every second of it. The gameplay elements were well balanced. The map itself feels like a map coming directly out of Quake - which is amazing. itslit.png
Apr 25 11:50:30 37m 25s The Last Guardian ♥ 2 1. Points for a Godot game 1. What a different mix of concepts and possibilities. I always liked the "save the tree" or "the trees can save" motif, but this one goes in a different direction, adding the sorcery like creatures. 1. Are the character animations 2D skeletons?
Apr 25 12:40:52 50m 22s Kardiossomatic ♥ 3 What an awesome atmosphere and production value. Although I had no idea of what was going on and what I was doing, I loved every second of it. The mood, the music, sound effects and of course, the visuals remind of Legacy of Kain from PS1 - as somone that also made a lowres/retro 3D game, I'm a sucker for those types of visuals. I think with what you made here, you are a contender for top positions, but I can see you almost have no ratings made, so that is damaging the game position.
Apr 25 17:19:17 4h 38m GhostVac ♥ 1 Hey Christina, first and foremost, big fan of your pixel work. It's really interesting to see a standalone game of Luigui's Mansion vacuum. The arcade table is beautiful and sleek, and everything connects together nicely, although I wasn't sure what to do after finishing all initial ghosts - it would just repeat itself over and over?
Apr 25 20:02:28 2h 43m Tyson Lee: KEEP IT ALIVE EDITION ♥ 1 My way to define the concept and gameplay: mindblowing. There are some bugs, but the core concept is still impressive.
Apr 26 07:49:43 11h 47m Antourage ♥ 3 A five stars game for me. Impressive work on the smoothness of the gameplay and the amount of content that you managed to put for the jam. Base building, upgrades, wave progression. I also got impressed by the AI of the ants, they work surprisingly well and balanced. When I saw "a big wave is coming" (or something like that) I thought it would be instant game over due to unbalance and dumb AI, but it was quite the opposite, the ants managed very well, that's when the game surprised me. Also points for being a Godot game (I also used Godot, the engine of my ❤️ ). Excuse that I'll now _take a look at your code to check the AI_.
Apr 26 08:32:50 43m 07s He Needs Healing ♥ 1 - Concept fits the theme perfectly - Genre is very cool, a rhythm game is rare in game jams, afaik - Music adds to the action (well, a rhythm game without music would be weird 😰 ) - Plus points for using Godot ❤️ ! What could be changed: combination of keys could be the arrow keys. Even although I never leave my computer and I can type really fast, my brain melted trying to follow the game. I think left, right, etc would be more fitting.
Apr 26 08:38:40 5m 50s Tiny Fragments ♥ 1 I played it on the first day after submission, and the comments were not working. I just wanted to say, what an awesome and polished game, specially the visuals. I'm surprised that there is another very similar game on the top of the rankings as well (Tumble Baby). I've seen this game on the front page of some websites, congratulations for the exposure.
Apr 26 08:42:15 3m 35s Dog Feeder ♥ 1 This game is the proof that for a game jam you don't need fanciness, you need a good concept and solid gameplay. There is basically no graphics, only the dog, but has a lot of content and a very original concept, with a well implemented gameplay. Well done.
Apr 26 08:49:51 7m 36s Cyto Killer: Save Our Cells! ♥ 1 Wow, at first it was mind bending, and I was like "wtf", but then it easily hooked me. Probably it was your intention, but maybe a bit more contrast and less saturation in the red would make for a better visual experience - it is too bright, made me a bit dizzy, but other than that I loved the visuals and the game overall.
Apr 26 08:53:03 3m 12s Precious Animals ♥ 1 Fun and cool concept - and a game that is about saving animals deserve respect. My feedback is if you added a background would help immersion and mood further (and balance difficulty a bit more). But since it is very gameplay focused, it is worth it, this is what matters in a jam game.
Apr 26 09:03:24 10m 21s Maintenance ♥ 1 I really liked the atmosphere and the contemplation of this, at least I got a message of the tragedies of life and the natural path of the Earth and the little to nothing that we can do. My LD game is very similar in the context of being just an atmospheric narrative of you not being able to change anything in the way of the universe - that's it, it's either tragedy or flow. That's why I really liked your entry. I don't think people is being fair with you in regards of the audio. You said in the description that you made the music, and I would vote 5 stars for it, because it is very atmospheric and relaxing.
Apr 26 15:44:42 6h 41m Hive Preserver ♥ 1 I played and rated it right after you published, but the comments weren't working. So I gave it another try now and I gotta say this is a very well done entry. First and foremost, the visuals are eye candy for me, this aesthetic is what I love (and what I also have experience doing, since my game for this jam is also Half-Life inspired). As for the game itself: when playing Alien Isolation I always wondered how would be a game from the perspective of the Alien. Although this is not exactly like Alien Isolation it fed me a bit in that desire.
Apr 27 02:51:57 11h 07m Party Killer ♥ 0 Awesome visuals and music, but I can't rate on much else because of the requirement of 2 controllers. That's a tough requirement for a jam game.
Apr 27 08:28:04 5h 36m Keep Pit Alive! ♥ 2 - Nice pun with the name <-> literal theme - Plus for using Godot - Very nicely hand drawn horse, which is a nice touch for a jam game. Even the loading screen is majestic. But when getting in a corner the timing of the frames of the horse animation goes crazy, which is a bit distracting and mood breaking. - A bit more context of why moving around inside a cave with a horse eating apples would be good. - Due to the horse sliding and no time for me to react, I died countless times in the first earth slide, which was a bit frustrating. - Overall, well made game for a jam, and the gameplay is there, which is valuable! horse.gif
Apr 27 08:30:08 2m 04s The Dragon's Curse ♥ 2 I can't believe how much content this has for a jam game. It's really involving and kept me hooked. And you really knew how to sell the game with the uploaded cover image here in LD.
Apr 27 08:34:59 4m 51s Tell a Fairy Tale ♥ 2 I like ideas like this, which are very original, and to be honest, this game inspired on many possibilities. Initially I was lost, but then I was hooked, cool game guys! I won't comment on technical stuff because I think the other commenters did that already. Just a bit weird using Disney art (I googled and checked that Tinker Bell is public domain, but the way it is represented here is Disney created or am I wrong? Please let me know), I would rate 5 stars if it was an original type of fairy, for example.
Apr 27 08:48:27 13m 28s LD46: Keep it alive ♥ 1 When I saw the screenshots I was immediatelly hooked by the art style. Then my reaction about the style was: this is so perfect, how haven't I thought about this before? But then the game itself is very challenging and controls feel too slippery. But the overall sum of factors make it a worthwhile play. Are you planning on tuning it for a post-jam version? Plus points for using the lovely Godot engine 😄
Apr 27 16:43:31 7h 55m Entitled Kaiju Game ♥ 1 The Kaiju is super cute (it is what attracted me to try the game), but the controls could be a bit smoother, had a hard time aiming. By the way, I also created a Kaiju game, although on the opposite spectrum of cute 😅 . (and @drkr it seems you also picked Kaiju!).
Apr 27 16:45:34 2m 03s Attack on Lizilla ♥ 0 I got attracted to this game because of the Kaiju (I also made a Kaiju game 😅 ). While I liked the production values, I'd like to get more feedback from the game itself while playing, I mean, the controls were a bit slow and I'd like to see when the attacks are effective. Other than that, I liked the game!
Apr 28 12:02:06 19h 16m File Survival ♥ 0 What a creative and cool concept - I would NEVER have thought of that. I dig the 1-bit visuals, but as the above commentor, I also had a bit of problem with the hitboxes. But 5 stars for originality.
Apr 28 15:41:59 3h 39m Civilitris ♥ 1 This is such an awesome idea, mixing tetris, with RTS + resource management. The fact that the quests are also a tutorial to make you progress in the game adds to it. I don't have much else to say, sunce this already got a lot of feedback, so just leaving my compliments here.
Apr 30 20:35:02 52h 53m Memes Never Die ♥ 1 This concept is so cool! The game is well structured, well done for solo work. I will say the same as @scott-steffes I wish I had the courage to do that in real life 😅
Apr 30 20:37:24 2m 22s Final Interrogation ♥ 1 Original concept and cool art style. The only thing is that when I was playing I kept trying to connect the dots with the theme and I guess, from your description, is "keep the case alive"?
Apr 30 20:39:22 1m 58s Manual Breathing ♥ 2 Oh boy that was challenging xD It reminded me immediately of QWOP or whatever that other gam is called. I think you nailed the theme in a humorous and original way, just wish it was easier, but I guess that was the idea.
Apr 30 20:43:55 4m 33s Back Four Seconds ♥ 1 What an awesome atmosphere and concept. The visuals sucked me immediatelly, but then I think I can execute further on the concept, for a post jam version. The way you can die was unexpected and fun xD Btw, has the red timeline concept came for you in the Jam or is it inspired from somewhere else? It is really cool.
May 1 07:46:01 11h 02m VAMP ♥ 1 The POV from inside the mount with the teeth in the middle is so creative. This is one of those entries that we call a "hidden gem". Maybe you should write about the game more in the blog and comment more on other games to grab more attention :) I'd love to see your notes about using your C++ engine as well.
May 6 12:35:19 124h 49m MicroVore ♥ 1 It really shows how you really know and understands Unity VFX tools. Probably one of the most unique visuals in this edition of the jam.
May 6 12:39:02 3m 43s LavaLampSpaceMission ♥ 1 I found it very tricky and hard to play and to be honest it frustrated me in the beginning, but after I got it, I think it was a cool concept. If it had sound it would add a lot for a good atmosphere.
May 6 12:44:11 5m 09s Agewalker ♥ 1 Amazing graphics and as an action-RPG addict, I loved the game. Sound is also very fitting. I don't have much else to say, since you already got a lot of feedback, so just take my compliments. PS: I opened and closed the game 3 times because I tried almost everything to move forward in the dialogs and I thought just the game froze. But then I saw you wrote instructions for it.
May 6 12:53:10 8m 59s Primed ♥ 1 Heheh at first I was like: wtf, is that it? And then when I read the first ending, I played again and got the other ending and felt in love with it. Nice music, nice visual particles. If it were longer it would be even better, but for what it is, it's good!
May 6 12:59:24 6m 14s Blood Oath ♥ 2 Awesome graphics and sounds. Made me a bit dizzy with the screenshakes (but maybe it is just me), but overall, quite impressive. I'll definitely check @bekh bandcamp!
May 6 13:03:20 3m 56s Light from a star ♥ 0 Really cool concept, well executed and polished to some extent. Reminds me of the epic and classic iPhone game, Helsing's Fire, which I love so dearly. I think this is one of my favorite games in the jam so far. iphone_ratloop_helsing-light_1.jpg
May 6 13:07:21 4m 01s Sun up ♥ 1 I think you could have submitted it to the Compo, regardless :) There are many other games smaller than yours that were submitted.
May 6 13:10:40 3m 19s Get the Barky Started ♥ 0 Lovely and fun, especially as a dog lover this was very attractive for me. I was cracking up, that even my non wife gamer wanted to try it :) 5 stars!
May 6 13:13:10 2m 30s The Diamond-Flowered Orchid ♥ 1 Nicely written, I wish there were more text adventures in Ludum Dare, like this one!
May 6 13:15:47 2m 37s Space Station Alpha ♥ 1 This is so good, feels mysterious. Reminds me of Environmental Station Alpha and smestorp games, such as Corrypt.
May 11 09:11:42 115h 55m Keep Him Alive ♥ 1 As opposed to other feedback saying the controls are rough, I consider them to be very fluid and fast, which is what I liked the most about the game, I like how it doesn't feel "bouncy". The idea of making the character and his father rounded from top view has some charm to it. What could be better: - Just a few sound effects would make the whole difference in the game (I recommend some quick and dirty solutions like https://www.bfxr.net/). - Escalates too quickly / too hard. - What is the point of all that loot?
May 11 09:17:01 5m 19s Tile Rider! ♥ 1 To keep things fair, I played the jam version: the atmosphere and mood in this is so good, because of the nice visuals and music! I see a lot of potential in this game and I'm glad to hear that you are working on a post jam version. I will follow you because I want to play the final version! This is a very original concept, at least I haven't seem it before!
May 11 09:24:22 7m 21s Guardy_Bird ♥ 2 As someone who does birding, this was a very touching experience! Very cute but also very sad at the same time. The art style plus the music generates both feelings of relaxation and sadness. Well done!
May 11 09:30:17 5m 55s Keep it afloat! ♥ 2 - Points for using the lovely Godot. - Liked the humour in the main menu. It is small, but a nice touch. - The game itself seems really cool and fun, the presentation and music are top notch, but I suck at fast paced games and I was completely lost trying to follow the beat indicator and I had no idea of what to do.
May 11 09:32:59 2m 42s Keep Floating ♥ 1 Cool take on the endless runner theme/category, although to be honest I had NO IDEA of what I was doing hehe :) Regardless, the entry is solid, because it has all the elements of a game tied together, and specially, gameplay! Bom trabalho.
May 11 09:38:56 5m 57s Protect the Queen! ♥ 0 Hahahah I LOVED this game: - Home made sound effects and the event narration is really funny - Graphics have a bit of charm - In 2012 my Ludum Dare entry also had a bee with home made sound effects (the bzzz with my mouth): http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-23/comment-page-2/?action=preview&uid=2465 so also that's why I loved your game. On the other hand, I just feel it could be a bit easier. But other than that, kudos!
May 11 11:02:15 1h 23m SkyRoots Ultra ♥ 1 The game seems interesting and original, I LOVED the visuals and sounds, but the controls are very hard and tricky, which was a let down and annoyance for my experience. Other than that, I congratulate for the originality.
May 12 13:21:24 26h 19m Mount Ookie ♥ 2 Awesome! - Points for using the lovely Godot - Gorgeous art - Loved the concept and the gameplay. Curiosuly enough, my game is also made with Godot and also is about a Mount waking up (but there is more that also wakes up in my game). - Well, for it having gameplay I can already give positive points. Well done.
