Incredible graphics for sh'bolga definitely the best I have witnessed so far in the jam.

OFFER LIVES IN SACRIFICE TO THE GREAT SH'BOLGA
sh'bolga!
Haha awesome :) A 5 star game for me. The music kept me hooked until the very end and I like the mix of 3D and 2D. Sh'bolga looks very cool and creepy, fitting the game and the theme. So it seems I'm not the only one that made a weird game :)
Cool small game, you wrote a bunch of dialogue to the game too. :) Monster art was real nice and theme was funny to keep the Sh'bolga alive with sacrafices was was definitely a fresh angle I haven't seen yet. My ears suffered with headphones a little from the ui sounds but otherwise nice entry, well done. :)
nice elder god! would offer sacrifices to him all day! You guys gotta finish this!
The monster looks really cool. It's a shame the characters look so silly. I like that there's this story surrounding the father. Too bad it's all so short, but understandable because it's a jam game. Good job!
great cover art..
I really loved your entry. The scope was ideal for a jam game : straightforward gameplay, one really polished memorable monster, tight controls, a funny story with a twist, and a well balanced difficulty curve. Awesome game, and great job to all the team. All hail Sh'bolga !
That background is awesome! Reminds me of that really old game Novastorm :D
holy shit I love the visuals so much :D awesome work guys :D
That's some pretty amazing cover art (it's what drew me to the game in the first place)
The game is pretty nice for a jam game, especially the visuals! I wish there were multiple endings though-- I tried waiting out sh'bolga's sustenance meter and was kind of sad that there wasn't some kind of special event. I'd love for this to have a revisit in the future :)
Your game reminds me Daedra princes quests in TESV ! Shbolga has a nice model and textures and the background looks nice. However the rest of the visuals were a bit too simple in comparison, which makes a huge contrast and make the game look weird. I really enjoyed talking to the npc's and it adds some lore to the game. Cool entry ;)
As the game description suggested, it did remind of 80s home computer platformers. Short, but sweet. Enjoyed the Metroidvania-style upgrades; could possibly be fleshed out into a longer game? Was the Shbolga an actual 3d model in the game (how did you get the lo-fi sort of grainy/pixelly effect for it?), or a pre-rendered sprite?
I absolutely LOVE SH’BOLGA's design!!!! Such a fan!!! I like the theme, I like the monster, and I like the missions :smirk:
this was super cool, i loved the game writing, the atmosphere you achieved with the light and music. also the creature design and charisma, i would sacrifice my family too for sh'bolga!
@strange-nebula Thanks for your comment, Sh'bolga was indeed a 3D model but I wrote a post-fx shader that distorted the UV coordinates of the render pass with a noise pattern to give it that glitchy unfocused effect. Hope that explains it well enough, thanks - Doug
Thanks for the kind words @jeroenwimmers @ukumeme and everyone! We are pleased to announce that we are currently planning a future full release version of Sh'bolga! Featuring tons more sacrificing! Follow us on twitter at https://twitter.com/ShBolga
Great work on sh’bolga's creature design model and the graphics and visuals <3 The game writing was good and the story was great fun to follow!! :) x
Sh'bolga is great. Writing was entertaining and the platforming elements were great. Would love to see this turn into a longer game.
This is an amazing entry. Atmoshpere is really cool. Gameplay isn't that fun, but still it kept me engaged. Great job!
Very nice song! Ok platformer which requires to actually read what is written on the screen :D Impressive work on the monster, I liked how it was incorporated into the background.
