| Oct 3 23:25:50 | The Aspiring Postman | ♥ 1 | The setting was very very pretty! I liked how vibrant everything was! I had a bit of an issue where the camera would roll rather violently at times, I had to keep it to small motions. It was fun trying to find the houses, but the lack of landmarks in certain areas made overall navigation kind of difficult. I like pigeons. | |
| Oct 3 23:41:40 | 15m 50s | Dragon Slayer Ultra | ♥ 1 | Really interesting idea, and well-polished execution. I think a few things held it back for me, in particular the very tight timing of every checkpoint, and the lack of ability to retry without dying. The 10 second timing's pretty difficult to work under for this kind of game, and you did a pretty decent job within the window! Just a little more friendliness toward the player would be much appreciated! Really fun direction with the art - and a fitting end to the game! |
| Oct 4 02:58:18 | 3h 16m | The Spacetime Contraption | ♥ 2 | I escaped! Very escape-room-y. Took me 17 tries. I think it was pretty appropriate on difficulty. |
| Oct 4 05:56:35 | 2h 58m | Headcount | ♥ 1 | 11 HITS! |
| Oct 4 06:04:24 | 7m 49s | Witch Contractor | ♥ 4 | Really hectic little shooter! The 10 seconds was a good constraint, but the level geometry sometimes made it difficult to push through. Overall had fun! |
| Oct 4 06:05:25 | 1m 01s | Radar Rider | ♥ 2 | Super cool! I was a little hot-and-heavy with my maneuvering of the ship, as I said in stream because of the pressure from the enemies. I had a lot of fun with it. There's a lot of variety in playstyle you accommodate in this little game and that's really fun! |
| Oct 4 06:07:03 | 1m 38s | SENSATIONS | ♥ 2 | The effects were well done, though certainly a bit nauseating. I wasn't really sure what the 30 second timer was trying to accomplish. By the time I got to the hardest jumps, I'd have to just let it run out if I failed. I think maybe a longer timer, or a reset button would've helped this? The presentation was overall really clean though, good job! |
| Oct 4 06:08:12 | 1m 09s | Workshift | ♥ 1 | I'm not super sure what was going on in there but it was interesting. I also ran into the problem of the students not getting angry. I though the cooking was a bit unforgiving, but it is in real life too so I suppose that's fair. |
| Oct 4 06:11:01 | 2m 49s | Thornscatter | ♥ 3 | Super super pretty little game. I really liked the themeing of the game, though found the gameplay a bit lackluster. Without any way to really get rid of the thorns from an area, the game just got more and more difficult to navigate. I didn't really enjoy pressing through tiny passages. I think if the game had some pressure that wasn't just "the world is getting slower to move around in" it might be fun! As is it's just kinda slow. |
| Oct 4 06:12:44 | 1m 43s | Ski freeVENGE | ♥ 1 | No one can defeat the quad laser! Just a really fun take on ski free, great job on the audio! |
| Oct 4 06:16:42 | 3m 58s | Timebound | ♥ 5 | Really clever puzzles. As you seen on stream. I really struggled at first with understanding some of the puzzles. I don't want to spoil anything, but I really like how the revelations in each level build on eachother. At the end I was at first confused, but because the game had already shown me what to look for, I realized and it was extremely satisfying. The art was nice too! My only real complaint is that the little green outline when something was affected by the laser is a bit subtle, and the companion cube blended in with the pressure plate. Pretty minor. |
| Oct 4 06:18:27 | 1m 45s | The Flock and the Flood | ♥ 2 | Best I got was just a touch more than 60 sheet. I really enjoyed leading them around the island, though the lack of smart pathfinding got in the way a bit. I also found myself wanting to "split the flock" quite often, for no real reason I suspect. The little pixel sheepies against the low poly terrain were really cute too! Good job! |
| Oct 4 06:21:20 | 2m 53s | Night At The Orphanarium | ♥ 2 | Really well polished art and music! The game almost forces you to drop your guard... as the number of vampires RISES! I found some of the mechanics a bit unresponsive. Particularly whether I hit or didn't hit a vampire seemed a little sketchy. On a more structural level, I didn't feel a lot of pressure during the chopping phase, as I never really had to go far. There's also no danger then so I dunno. The two phases just didn't really feel super cohesive. Each individually worked fine, but put together under the 10 second constraint and I dunno. The babies actually getting carried out of the orphanarium (great word!) was a nice touch! |
| Oct 4 06:22:33 | 1m 13s | Getting Farted On | ♥ 2 | Played it on my stream! These multiplayer games you do are absolutely wild. This one was certainly above my skill.... or patience ceiling. Maybe some of the gaps in the "tutorial" area are a bit mean. |
| Oct 4 06:23:12 | 39s | It Hides in the Dark | ♥ 1 | I get the game, I get the candles, but OH MY GOD IS THAT SPOOKY. Half-leaving this here as a place-holder to try again when it's light. Great work on the mood! |
| Oct 4 06:24:03 | 51s | Downpour | ♥ 3 | Really really well done little platformer. The level design was great! |
| Oct 4 06:25:08 | 1m 05s | Tense Conds | ♥ 1 | A REAL NES GAME! These are so frickin cool. Had a lot of fun running around trying to avoid all the monsters, really felt like something that I could've played as a kid. The later conds really really god me, cool way to "force" the end of the game. |
| Oct 4 06:27:22 | 2m 14s | Switcheroo | ♥ 1 | Really great aesthetic, I loved it! The switcheroos really messed with my brain. I'm sure the flipping of controls is overall a pretty cool thing, I just could never really get it to work. Ended up with quite a simple strategy, run backwards and shoot. Seemed totally safe. |
| Oct 4 06:29:21 | 1m 59s | Marins Dream Garden | ♥ 2 | Okay - continuing from the stream. I really really like the combination of a gardening mechanic with exploration. As I said, it felt very slime rancher to me. I think if the level design were smoothed out, a little easier around the beginning area, it'd feel really fun! As is I have trouble wanting to keep playing because moving between just the start area and anywhere else is a little tedious. Curious what it'd look like with those planned features! |
| Oct 4 06:30:03 | 42s | Trashpunk | ♥ 3 | I'm not really sure that the things are all that controllable. I tried, but I made it worse by hitting them as often as I did better, and most often I couldn't catch them to hit them at all. |
| Oct 4 06:30:59 | 56s | Reboot | ♥ 1 | So cool! I know you saw on stream, but the realization at the end of the game, on how to progress, and how you showed it visually was so so cool. The little roadblocks you built in felt like they flowed really really well. Great job! |
| Oct 4 18:25:35 | 11h 54m | Lock Up | ♥ 1 | Really pretty illustrations! |
| Oct 4 18:47:01 | 21m 26s | Garden Slime | ♥ 2 | Cute little game. I really like these ones that aren't do stressful! This is a stressful theme. I think a few particles to show when the slimes did something would be nice. I really liked how they kicked the ball around. It was so cute! |
| Oct 4 19:15:45 | 28m 44s | Auto Parker | ♥ 2 | Really well-done game. I enjoyed the levels a lot, I don't really know where new mechanics/interactions go from here but I'm excited to see. I like how you kept the UI and all really clean, it made it very readable. |
| Oct 4 23:18:55 | 4h 03m | Button Masher | ♥ 1 | Really funny use of cues! I came here from the front page, with the post referencing headcount. I don't know if it's because I played that before this, but here I was really wanting something to re-confirm my rhythm and placement. After a while I felt my clicking was mostly random, and I couldn't correlate the "good" "bad" "incredible" to an actual amount of time off. Probably intentional, but gosh was it frustrating! I think the game definitely hits its mark on what it was trying to do! |
| Oct 5 01:14:22 | 1h 55m | Sleepcheckers | ♥ 1 | I really liked the aesthetic of the game! Great job on it. I found the mandatory 3(ish) second sleep a little rough to play around, especially as I was exploring, it was really easy to accidentally click on the bed, like if I thought the shelves under it were a thing to be explored. Discovering the typing mechanic was really cool (maybe because I skipped the intro I didn't see it explained?)! Great job overall! |
| Oct 5 01:44:28 | 30m 06s | autoball | ♥ 2 | Really well-polished! I found at the beginning it was a bit too difficult to set up a board that really "worked". I found the game loop itself pretty satisfying, the plonks that happened when the ball hit the things was very nice! |
| Oct 5 01:55:09 | 10m 41s | Neural Dodge | ♥ 1 | Super super cool, especially for a 24 hour game! Really well-executed concept. I really don't know the strategy for the purple things, too fast! Overall really cool! |
| Oct 5 02:02:29 | 7m 20s | Tecton Inc. | ♥ 2 | Super super cute little game! Really good use of the pico-8. The lava was great! The mechanics were really clean and arcade-style. They didn't quite grab me for a score-chasing adventure, there wasn't a *ton* of depth to their usage, but they were fun nonetheless. I got 310, just got kinda unlucky with the little lava monsters. |
| Oct 5 02:39:55 | 37m 26s | AllegroRPG | ♥ 3 | Super cool like-tactics game. It reminded me a lot of FF Tactics. Really good! On my winning run my valkyrie died and I couldn't figure out why. When things get chaotic some of the hits become kind of hard to read. I also don't think I fully understand enemy hit behaviour. I really enjoyed the chaotic tense parts initially, but as the game dragged out, especially with just the nurse and fighter, it got to be a bit of a drag. I still enjoyed it - but gosh did some of those guys take a lot of hits. Really well done! |
| Oct 5 03:17:11 | 37m 16s | Regular Railway | ♥ 3 | I echo the concern about the track placement being a little unforgiving. I felt because of that, and the quick flow of the trains, it was very easy to be pressured into running a train into the woods. I think also a lose screen when you have any trains on fire might be good, as it's very very very difficult to recover. I really like the idea though, with some polish it'll be a very fun little puzzle game! |
| Oct 5 03:24:23 | 7m 12s | Tile To Tile | ♥ 1 | Really smooth platformer! I found the lack of vertical camera movement a little unsatisfying on the more vertical sections. The minimap helped me a ton with memorization. Great addition! The minimalist aesthetic, was good for the mechanics! Overall pretty nice little concept! |
| Oct 5 03:31:34 | 7m 11s | Bleeding vampire | ♥ 1 | This game was a bit difficult to play due to the janky collision. Sometimes I just couldn't run upwards? The countdown of health as you tried to find the exit of the floor was kind of interesting, but I think some landmarks might have helped navigation. |
| Oct 5 03:39:09 | 7m 35s | Clockwork Owl | ♥ 0 | I like the idea of the coin nudger thing, but like real life, it's a bit slow! Maybe a little kick in progression, a couple things at once instead of just one or something. I found the art a little uncohesive, the 3D stuff was super super cute but I'm not sure if the UI really fit it. |
| Oct 5 07:44:49 | 4h 05m | Renew my Subscription | ♥ 1 | Super super interesting ideas here! I found it really hard to reason about the state of the puzzle for any number of steps in the future, but I never really felt stuck on ways to solve any given problem. I think it might suffer a bit of a step-dependence problem where the difference between an invalid and valid solution is just waiting one step or something, which is really hard to sus out while trying to solve it. I really really like the concept though, I think with a little more help to the player on reasoning about the puzzle it'd be amazing! |
| Oct 5 08:04:13 | 19m 24s | Sweet Seconds | ♥ 2 | You really sold the hecticness of food service! Great job! I really liked the slow introduction of complicated mechanics, but I found for example, level 8, still pretty slow. I played perfectly and only came in 2 seconds under goal! |
| Oct 5 18:20:25 | 10h 16m | Alpaka madness - Every 10 seconds... | ♥ 2 | Super cute little game, definitely felt like a flash game! The super jumpy levels were so hard to control! Very difficult to hit the other llamas. I really liked the variety in levels, they mostly felt different and the diamonds and health pickups on each one kept me wanting to navigate the level and interact, rather than staying in one safe spot. Good job! |
| Oct 5 19:03:54 | 43m 29s | Burger Rush | ♥ 2 | Capture.PNG Is this the high score? Really engaging game! I was kind of disappointed I couldn't stack anything below or above the bread. I guess I'm just too high concept for the game! |
| Oct 5 20:29:30 | 1h 25m | Terrifying Box | ♥ 2 | 52 seconds! Really difficult game, I think a little more indication of what state you're in might be nice. The driving was really touchy, but once I got used to it it was pretty fun! I really liked the graphics. |
| Oct 5 23:20:08 | 2h 50m | To Catch a Wizard | ♥ 2 | Super cool little metroidvania! I really enjoyed figuring out where each ability let me go. I also had trouble with the boss fight, I think primarily for me it was that the hitboxes for the enemy's attacks were a bit too big, so it was very hard to avoid all of them. All in all though a really cool game. Oh also I liked the sound effects on the battle! |
| Oct 6 01:16:52 | 1h 56m | 10-Second Magic Artist | ♥ 0 | Really impressive accomplishment for the jam! I really appreciate the middleware you probably had to hook up to make this work. The prompts are really cool! |
| Oct 6 02:41:13 | 1h 24m | Baja Blasters: The Toll Bells for Thee | ♥ 1 | Well done on the retro look! The audio fit really really well as well. I found the gameplay a bit slow, but pacing's kind off on a lot of games with this theme. I did find one interaction I *really* wanted to score points, when I made two enemies hit eachother. I think that could be very fun! |
| Oct 6 02:54:30 | 13m 17s | Boar Breakout DX | ♥ 2 | OH MY GOD the beginning and end scenes were SO CUTE. The platforming was pretty decent, I felt when I hit my head it was a bit punishing, but there was more than enough time for each level. It took me a couple tries to get past the first checkpoint, but the afterwards I had no more than one death per checkpoint. Lots of level! Good job |
| Oct 6 03:04:11 | 9m 41s | Jam Session | ♥ 1 | Can't believe people got to 4:00! Awesome the stun powerup was really really powerful. I think maybe stretching out the health system a little more would provide better feedback. Could do 32nd/64th notes or so. Sometimes it felt like I didn't quite know how much health everything had because there was a LOT of health in each note type - at least it felt. Overall really cool! |
| Oct 6 03:27:05 | 22m 54s | Shimash | ♥ 1 | Really well done multi-game. I feel like you achieved pretty good pacing within the 10 second constraint by the design of each minigame, which is really really cool! I found the one with the arrows a bit difficult, but after a few goes, a good challenge. Really really nice aesthetic. Good job! |
| Oct 6 03:46:58 | 19m 53s | Demons, bullets and new rules | ♥ 2 | Really really good aesthetic, especially the tiles. They're absolutely great! The gameplay was pretty engaging, though some of the powerups were a bit frustrating. The small enemies combined with the high gravity mods really drove the nail in the coffin for me. |
| Oct 6 04:10:19 | 23m 21s | second interval | ♥ 1 | The art was very cute! I found the platforming a bit claustrophobic sometimes with the way the character's collider was. The use of theme was really unique and refreshing, I liked the interpretation of music a lot! |
| Oct 6 04:36:40 | 26m 21s | Game Name | ♥ 3 | Woah, there's a lot content here! The 10 seconds fit this pretty well, I felt that each challenge was pretty well-scaled, although it definitely exposed some weaknesses in my typing. Embarrassing as a programmer! I really like the art and music as well, they fit the game very very well. The ranking system at the end was really satisfying. Great job y'all! |
| Oct 6 17:57:42 | 13h 21m | Morning Coffee Hit | ♥ 0 | Cool diner-dash style concept! I really wanted to engage with all the ingredients, but I found by around the time of skim milk, I couldn't. I also threw the milk frothing cup across the room once. I don't think that's how it's supposed to work... |
| Oct 6 18:08:57 | 11m 15s | Descender | ♥ 1 | I really liked the idea, it reminded me of a minigame from of all games, Lego Island 2 GBA. Really fun. I think it was hampered a bit by the lack of landmarks, it was difficult to tell where you were in the maze, and by the enemy behaviour. The enemies kind of incentivized me to do this really slow thing of pulling them to a safer place, which didn't fit the exploration. I got through the key doors, I thought they were really good ways of incentivizing the player to explore further. Good job overall! |
| Oct 6 18:19:55 | 10m 58s | 10 Seconds Solar | ♥ 3 | I really liked it. I found the movement super fun. I think rather than making a giant flat world, it would've been cool to have different little areas. Like more components to the north, but also some obstacles or something. As it is it just felt like wherever I explored it was more of the same. Great job on the storm effects, great use of bloom! |
| Oct 6 20:50:45 | 2h 30m | Hourglass | ♥ 1 | Really cool direction to take the theme. With the initial levels I felt the 10 seconds was just kind of a mandatory wait, but on later levels it felt integral to the levels, good job! I had a bit of frustration with the conveyors not "speeding up" when I pressed speed up, it'd be nice if those were consistent. The art and sound felt clean enough for the game, I really liked the speedup effect on the sound. Good job! |
| Oct 6 21:35:38 | 44m 53s | 10 Snekonds | ♥ 2 | The art was really nice, particularly for this kind of game. Everything was really easy to read. The gameplay was really satisfying for the most part, though I feel like I hit some edge cases where turning + dashing didn't let me actually dash. I really liked the hecticness of killing the pyramid! The running around finding new pieces was a bit boring, particularly without the speed booster. Very good overall! |
| Oct 6 22:07:12 | 31m 34s | Harvest Golem | ♥ 1 | I really enjoyed the game, very relaxing. Unfortunately I didn't have enough plants to grow the pumpkin, and couldn't buy a second Kholarabi, so I couldn't create the golem. When I force-slept it went away. I might have done that wrong? I really enjoyed the combos until then. I kept doing Watermelon -> Spinach in the middle -> Opposing Carrots and racking up SO MANY points |
| Oct 6 22:35:13 | 28m 01s | Drag & Box | ♥ 2 | Capture.PNG Really really engaging game. It took me a little bit to get the hang of going which box to use, filling, packing, and CLOSING the box, but once I got into it the game flowed really nicely! |
| Oct 6 22:49:06 | 13m 53s | Sinister Urbanism | ♥ 1 | The vibe was super great, the music fit well, the art was wild, great job! I liked the tile placement, I liked building a little city, but I often lost the round and I wasn't sure exactly how mine performed so much worse. Any points indicator would be great, just for some feedback. I also hit a point where the "next district" button wouldn't work without any feedback. I really enjoyed the game though, and if this stuff was fixed I'd definitely play more. |
| Oct 6 22:54:22 | 5m 16s | Paper Spirits | ♥ 3 | Really pretty little game. I enjoyed floating(?) around a bit helping lost souls. I know the theme, but I almost wish the souls came a little slower so I had more time to just sit and chill! |
| Oct 6 23:00:18 | 5m 56s | SPACE KATANA | ♥ 2 | I really like the overall aesthetic of the game. After optimizing my order of decay, I got 94 seconds. It felt so dire as my last systems failed, really good job there. The movement also felt great! I think a little more clear definition of when you get hurt vs when your katanas can cut might be nice, but it wasn't really an issue. I didn't use the front guns much, the bullets were a bit slow to really be aimable. Just some fodder for the decay chain! |
| Oct 6 23:06:26 | 6m 08s | Gladiato"R"Us | ♥ 4 | I felt the choice of the babies was a bit drawn out, though the fighting was cool! |
| Oct 6 23:21:05 | 14m 39s | FLV-51 | ♥ 2 | Very good level design, I really enjoyed it! I found the wall-jump kind of degraded the platforming experience, with the way you always stuck to walls, but overall it was very good. Chaining jumps and dashes together particularly felt good. You made the paths just the right length to be difficult but not extremely frustrating, great job! |
| Oct 6 23:25:10 | 4m 05s | Clique Hell High | ♥ 5 | I found the way most of the bullets were "follow me" bullets made dodging when necessary very difficult. It'd have been nice to have a few have established patterns. There's a lot of content here, really good job on it! The world feels dense and detailed! I really liked the art, really really cute! |
| Oct 6 23:37:07 | 11m 57s | 3 minutes in hell | ♥ 1 | Really nice mechanics. I wasn't really ready for the difficulty, and after several tries couldn't get past phase 10. I wish the enemies had some indication of health. I really liked the varying game boards, felt very good. |
| Oct 7 01:26:46 | 1h 49m | Decachronomorphia | ♥ 2 | The art was really nice! I liked the whole setting a lot! I thought the bloom and CRT effect worked in the context really well. I echo a lot of the concerns about the combat, but I like the idea of changing character every 10 seconds! |
| Oct 7 02:36:43 | 1h 09m | Gemstones | ♥ 1 | Capture.PNG I played this a lot. Really addicting game. |
| Oct 7 02:54:20 | 17m 37s | just got mutiny'd (so I'm making sick jumps and posting about it) | ♥ 1 | I hit 19 sick jumps brah! I coulda done more, just stopped cuz i didn't wanna show ya up. Jokes aside, fun little arcade game. I think you could add a lot of variety by adding some tricks off of the jumps, or varying the jumps over time a bit more. The music was kinda a like, modern dance take on a sea song, which was interesting and very solid, but not quite my jam. I really liked the cute style! |
| Oct 7 06:39:16 | 3h 44m | Blades of Doom | ♥ 1 | The game-feel is absolutely great here, great squash and stretch and screenshake and feedback in general. Very very good job! I'm sure it's possible to get past a minute and a half but jeez is it hard. I really liked the colors too! Great job! |
| Oct 7 16:52:08 | 10h 12m | Sailing through life | ♥ 1 | Really unique control scheme! I liked how the story interacted with the other boats that you could also control, nice little touch! |
| Oct 7 17:01:43 | 9m 35s | 10 seconds Delirium | ♥ 1 | Was there a win state? I felt the things the therapist were saying were a bit lost on me as I focused to make the yin and yang symbols meet. I really liked the control scheme on those things. The room where you fought the heads was a bit cramped for a shooter room. I feel like it'd be a little nicer gameplay-wise with a bit more space. |
| Oct 7 17:14:52 | 13m 09s | A Fly's Life | ♥ 1 | Really really cool mechanics. At first I felt like this would be a rather simple game, but with the baiting and the grasshoppers, it turned into a very nice puzzle game! I really felt that the grasshopper level was a bit too difficult. There was just very little room to move around with death around every corner and the swatter could hardly help! Perhaps it'd have been better at the very end? The buzzing SFX was cute, though I think maybe a bit much if you were to spin this out any more. I'm also kind of unsure about the turn radius, it got me into trouble in a few cases and felt kind of unexpected when I was sitting and taking off. Overall I really liked the game, really really cool concept! |
| Oct 7 17:20:40 | 5m 48s | Metal Muscle Mage | ♥ 2 | I really like the idea! The amount of actions felt a bit low for the length of the battle, but it was certainly frantic enough with just those. I sometimes found myself accidentally skipping the right element and having to mash out some face-melting solos to get up the right shield. I really liked the revive button combo, I think more combos of that length would've been nice. Maybe as like, super attacks. |
| Oct 7 17:25:26 | 4m 46s | Speed Barber | ♥ 3 | The main mechanic was cool, dunno if I've seen this particular type of thing before. I felt the razor was a bit large to make some of the more detailed cuts. I also really wanted a "done" button for when the cut was really simple. Very smooth playing overall though, the ratings felt pretty accurate to what I'd done, which was very nice! |
| Oct 7 17:49:32 | 24m 06s | Yes, Comrade. | ♥ 1 | Super super great game, the switchboard mechanics were great. I loved the references to Papers Please, it felt like a cross between that and Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, with the nagging things. It worked really well. The music felt a little out of place, a little too calm for the kind of work a gulagee would be doing. The rest of the audio was exactly on point, absolutely great voice acting. |
| Oct 7 17:57:34 | 8m 02s | Platelet Commander | ♥ 1 | I played a bit and upgraded all my clots, but they never really seemed to be in danger of breaking nor did I get to a win state. I like the weird setting and idea but I think I just didn't "get" it. |
| Oct 7 18:26:00 | 28m 26s | [X-ED OUT] | ♥ 0 | I got to wave 14! Really nicely done, though the scaling felt a bit weird. Once I had like six beams shooting every few frames it was more about whether the enemies would overwhelm my rotation speed, which didn't scale. I'm not sure what to do with that, because having six beams shooting every few frames felt great. Had a lot of fun just smashing everything on the screen. |
| Oct 7 18:34:26 | 8m 26s | Every 10 Seconds I Find New And Exciting Ways To Hate Myself | ♥ 1 | I really liked the GB style. I felt the writing was a bit heavy-handed at times, it'd be nice to insert a little more space for the player to reflect on the thoughts the character was having. I found the gameplay cute, in a very gameboyish style. If this were entered in the gameboy jam (is that where the assets are from?) I wouldn't question it at all! I did find the required unpacker in the download a bit sketchy for a jam game, it'd be nice if it were just a normal zip. |
| Oct 8 07:57:19 | 13h 22m | Stranded in Mars | ♥ 1 | Really nice and moody game, absolutely loved the atmosphere. I had a ton of trouble finding things as the world was totally dark and my flashlight didn't take me so far. I liked the themeing and wished I could've engaged with it a bit more. |
| Oct 8 07:59:52 | 2m 33s | The book of time magic | ♥ 1 | I really liked the idea, the art was really nice and the voice acting was cool. I felt that the 2048 type gameplay could have some more feedback, as I really didn't understand exactly why some of my things were being turned into different things. I think when tiles turn over, maybe an increased pace would help with the wierd pacing as you upgrade from 1-2-3-4, or maybe that upgrade path could just follow the 1-2-4-8 pattern. I liked the simple elemental matching too, made the gameplay a little more stressful! |
| Oct 8 08:04:55 | 5m 03s | 10 Second Mixtape | ♥ 3 | I played this on stream and it is a fantastic stream game, really really fun. The last song I made was an absolute BANGER. I made some super high concept stuff too. Overall a jam. Great concept - great job! |
| Oct 8 08:08:31 | 3m 36s | Gravity Crush | ♥ 1 | Great little 2D shooter, I think on stream I said no notes, and it really is difficult to come up with notes. Maybe a little more reward for shooting the things? I dunno. It really is a good idea with fantastic execution, great job! |
| Oct 8 08:11:09 | 2m 38s | Room Again | ♥ 2 | I really really liked the integration of the theme in this one. The realization that you could solve things by keeping items over the time-loop was super cool. My only complaint is that I wanted to do it more, but the game didn't really support me in doing so. I really liked the aha moments, and didn't so much care about the really fast execution. |
| Oct 8 08:13:09 | 2m 00s | The Great Escape | ♥ 1 | My second escape room game in a row! Figuring out the critical path was really cool and satisfying. As I said on stream, I think the thing that would by far improve the game the most is just making the buttons bigger. I found myself accidentally misclicking too often because the buttons were tiny. I really like the weird control scheme though, keep doin that! |
| Oct 8 08:17:33 | 4m 24s | Bots, Bots, Bots | ♥ 3 | I really like these incremental type games! I got to the end and IMMEDIATELY had an integer overflow. It was great. I found the progression a bit slow, particularly for a jam game. It also kind of demanded a lot of attention with the rust, so just letting it run on its own isn't really something that feels good to do. I really liked the choice in upgrades. You could fully build our a tier or push forward, to a point. That felt nice. The art was really nice, I liked the simple cel-shaded 3D! |
| Oct 8 22:42:52 | 14h 25m | New Edition - A Publishing Adventure | ♥ 0 | I really liked the concept of the game. Beyond the control issues, I think the way it's presented kind of betrays the mechanics. I really wanted to see the newspaper I was building, but it was a tiny tiny part of my screen, and at an odd angle. I don't know exactly the best way to show it, but I definitely want a better look at that thing I'm making. I really liked the mechanics in picking stories, but I wanted a little more consequence to where I put them on the paper. Surely the top headline is more important than the very bottom. Something like that could be cool. |
| Oct 8 22:56:47 | 13m 55s | The pond & the stars | ♥ 1 | I really really liked the art in this one, really atmospheric. Fantastic job on that. I felt the fishing was a bit monotonous, not unlike regular fishing! I liked the little bits of story text on the items but they were a bit hard to read with the size. Good job! |
| Oct 9 01:22:16 | 2h 25m | Speed Dating for Misfits | ♥ 1 | Super super cute matchmaking game. First - the mechanics. Having ten second dates of ten seconds each - so clever. And the way it's like a memory game stretched over these 10 dates is very very cool. The poker was a nice thing to break it up. The text you had to do memory from was all really really cute. I loved the characterization of each character, the bizarreness of the fish. Super super cute. The art was very fun as well. Just a really fun little game! |
| Oct 9 01:41:39 | 19m 23s | Battle of Nephthys | ♥ 1 | Love seeing RTSs in jams! I felt really quickly overwhelmed by the enemies, even after establishing thirty turrets. I might have just been bat at the game... |
| Oct 10 05:31:13 | 27h 49m | Anne & the Raccoons | ♥ 2 | Very cute game! I really loved the little animation of the racoons messing with your stuff! I found the controls/mechanics both intuitive and unintuitive. Once I figured them out what item did what was obvious, but I got no feedback for doing something wrong. I wasn't really guided into trying a different item on each thing, initially I thought I was using the rake to drive the racoons away, but I was actually using it to get the garden back in shape. I really liked the gameplay loop of the game. The franticness of going between running racoons off and trying to track down the carrots was nice! I found myself at the very end just waiting for everything to complete so I could run off to get the last carrots with reckless abandon. The timer of course was fixed for this theme, but maybe playing with the walk speed could help incorporate all of this. The audio fit the game really well as well! The whole thing was pretty nicely cohesive. Good job! |
| Oct 10 05:46:09 | 14m 56s | Enter\space... | ♥ 1 | Super great UX! I really really liked the squish of the buttons. I think audio would've really elevated this game, even some stock stuff! I liked the minigames but I wanted a little additional challenge as time went on. The things subtly changing was nice but something like longer sequences would've been really cool! Great job! |
| Oct 11 01:20:54 | 19h 34m | Blink | ♥ 3 | Capture.PNG is this a wr? |
| Oct 11 03:02:57 | 1h 42m | Busy Tracks | ♥ 1 | So I replayed with instructions from @outfrost and as it turns out, I'm just bad at trains. American brain and all. I had a ton of fun after I figured out how this stuff worked. Super super cool! Great job. I basically just wanted a little more UX stuff and for the camera to be able to get to the trains at the end. |
| Oct 11 03:30:27 | 27m 30s | MMO Minesweeper | ♥ 1 | That was AWESOME! I played it on LittleDoctorGames' stream and the game works so well. I love the choices you have to make, grief the other players, leave boards *just* too incomplete to finish. Absolutely fantastic! |
| Oct 11 03:35:02 | 4m 35s | Watch Wizard | ♥ 1 | Absolutely incredible you made a lil timewaster on a FITBIT. The game is rather simple, but given you have approximately the processing power of a fitbit, that's very fair. I really appreciated the super tight hitboxes, close escapes felt great! |
| Oct 11 03:38:39 | 3m 37s | Schism | ♥ 1 | Really cool mood. I talked about this in my stream, but I really liked the stressful gameplay loop. To repeat myself here, I think the way all of the props become dangerous, while super super cool, paints you into a bit of a corner with the way it's hard to add more props. I think it might feel okay if really big things just don't move, I'm not super sure. I really liked the effects on the edge of the map. I think with more landmarks, it might be nice to expand the map more. While I can't be sure where exactly I was, the arena felt kind of small. |
| Oct 11 03:53:14 | 14m 35s | Dr. Word's Machine | ♥ 2 | That was so frickin cool. I really really love like, the whole central conceit of the game. The presentation of it in words instead of graphics and the way you really leaned into that, and communicated things with sound, worked so well. Little things like how the carpet covered things. I accidentally covered the teleportation machine and almost forgot! Really really cool. |
| Oct 11 03:56:13 | 2m 59s | Thoughts | ♥ 3 | The use of disco elysium-like thoughts was really cool! I thought the combos could've been more evenly distributed. I went straight for the high concept stuff like questioning my gender and I don't think I got quite the intended experience with my unlocked combos. The art and writing was really really cool, though like others I feel like in particular, the small text wasn't something I could really engage with. My partner also thought some of the text could be better expressed, in particular the "monster lives matter" being a "bad" thing didn't really land. |
| Oct 13 17:35:06 | 61h 38m | server.vasm | ♥ 1 | Pretty cool concept for a ludum dare game, very very impressive! I did feel that the initial hand-holding was kind of overbearing. I understand the necessity for an LD game, but for example, in TIS-100, a game I hope you've played (it's very good), the "figuring out" how to do certain things in the game's assembly was the fun part! Maybe put some of that into a "hints" tab? |
| Oct 16 00:56:03 | 55h 20m | Arrows Between Worlds | ♥ 1 | Capture.PNG High score! I felt that it was an effective little arcade shooter, hampered mostly by a few bits of polish it lacked. The mechanics were really simple and clear, which was really really nice, but things like aiming reticle being slightly off, and the aiming sometimes seeming to change even more when didn't fully draw, made the gameplay a bit less enjoyable than it could've been. Overall really fun game - little stuff like this just really matters in these arcade style games. I also really liked the art - particularly the outline around the letters. I found it really cute! |
| Oct 16 01:08:17 | 12m 14s | Secret Sorter | ♥ 1 | To start, the sound was really really cool, I really loved how touching the bouncy ones created a sound in-line with the music. Was the music generative? Very cool. I wanted more interactions like that. Not that I didn't enjoy the kill-balls, but things that weren't necessarily game-ending to interact with that produced sound were really really cool! The core mechanic the game, swapping things around, was satisfying, but I think could've moved on two three and/or more a little quicker. Once I got to the three item levels engaging with the sorting became a lot more interesting! Great job though, very polished! |
| Oct 16 01:18:40 | 10m 23s | Barricaded | ♥ 0 | I really like the core idea of the game, but I feel that there's not a ton of motivation to "split the party". It's a lot of fun rushing to try and repair, but isn't very practical. I think if the turrets were a bit stronger, and you could do some kind of upgrade thing it might work better, but while the switching -> idle thing is cool, I think it kind of paints you into a corner in design. You really have one character with 3 character's HP pools. If I could station each character at a gun and have to move around as they get overrun with random waves that might be cool. I dunno, just kind of riffing. The graphics were really effective, I like the outline effect. The sound effects were fitting as well. Good composition of existing assets(?) |
| Oct 16 01:34:15 | 15m 35s | Pupu Pew Pew | ♥ 2 | That was awesome. I really loved the like, PS2 era geometry and music + the modern shading. It's a very fun feel! I sadly played with mouse, but it was still really fun! I felt the timer-based stuff kind of felt different from most other games like this. Like instead of wanting to preserve shots to destroy stuff, I wanted to just shoot as far ahead as possible so I could use my future shots on other stuff. For me it got to a point where around 33 things killed, I couldn't get through with my number of shots. I don't know if this is me being bad, or having a bad loadout, but I definitely wanted to get further! I really really liked the effects upon shooting things, and the way some things seemed to have weak points. The actual shooting mechanic seemed to be really well done! Fun game! |
| Oct 16 01:41:14 | 6m 59s | Artifact Control | ♥ 0 | It took me a second to kind of figure out the map and UI, but once I did, gameplay wasn't bad! I felt the combat was a bit lacking. I didn't mind the types of units available, but I wanted more control over their actions. Something like the typical attack -> attack move -> stand ground type of thing. I felt a bit less like I was commanding my units and more like I was trying to corral them into the artifact zone! Overall really cool to see RTS-type games in ludum dare, we need more of them! |
| Oct 16 03:25:53 | 1h 44m | How much can you do in 10 Seconds | ♥ 1 | Capture.PNG I got 11! Simple, yet effective and really pretty addicting. I felt like I was back in 1st grade... I think. |
| Oct 16 05:05:19 | 1h 39m | I HATE circles | ♥ 1 | Really cool arcade-type game! The progression system was very cool! It's really impressive how much different-feeling stuff you got out of the same basic mechanics with small modifications to the character and obstacles. The art was simple, yet effective. I think the +/- switching every second was a bit fast, but it worked okay. Good job! |
| Oct 16 05:14:48 | 9m 29s | Interspersed | ♥ 1 | What a wild ride. So, I played another game this jam that was similar to this, Dr. Word's Machine, and the differences are pretty interesting. That game has a lot more... predictable interactions, but tons of useless items. This game kept the count of items really tight, but had absolutely wild/hard to predict interactions. I think that having a small item count works really really well for that. I had a lot more unpredictable experience in this and it was really really cool! The only thing I really figured out from first principles was the plasma and power core. But yeah, very cool game! |
| Oct 16 05:21:43 | 6m 55s | It cannot die so you must not kill it. | ♥ 1 | Really cute little game. There seems to be an end but I kept dying before hand. I think mostly it was the hitboxes. They seemed to be like, a little up from where you'd expect them. The movement felt reall good though. Good job. |
| Oct 16 05:24:13 | 2m 30s | Rock the Rule | ♥ 1 | I really like the chaos of the upgrades, I dunno the real point of the game but it was fun to play around with. |
| Oct 16 05:26:11 | 1m 58s | Upgrade Jail | ♥ 1 | I think this has a decent look and a really fun little concept, but the upgrades themselves are kind of lacking. I think if you want a game like this to be satisfying, you really need to *feel* each upgrade. Having most upgrades be minor tweaks to your numbers just doesn't really do it. The gameplay was fun enough until I got overrun. |
| Oct 16 05:30:15 | 4m 04s | Sneak Guy | ♥ 1 | I really like the stealth play of the first few levels, but after them, when you had free use of all of the upgrades it felt like in each level at most you had to engage with the stealth mechanic once or twice. It was still really fun smashing my way through the guards, grabbing the princess (after clubbing her), and taking out the king (serious the story is hilarious), but I wanted more of that stealth action! Good job though, very enjoyable game. |
| Oct 16 05:32:06 | 1m 51s | Star Trotters | ♥ 0 | I really like the way this game engages with the theme. Instead of something just *happening* every 10 seconds, or even the playing having to complete something every 10 seconds, every 10 seconds is a challenge. I was initially worried about just showing the timer so prominently in the bottom right, but it was almost impossible to focus on! Very cool take on space invaders. |
| Oct 16 05:36:34 | 4m 28s | Babbage's Cabbages | ♥ 1 | The way this game used the theme reminds me a lot of mario's on-off blocks, but I think it interacts in a really interesting way with the things in the game that aren't aligned with 10 seconds. The platforming was fun, and the level design kept everything interesting. I felt that the floatiness was a bit much, and on the yellow platform going down I had a bit of trouble jumping, but very fun regardless! |
| Oct 16 05:47:57 | 11m 23s | Neon CGTD | ♥ 1 | Super super cool game. I really like tower defense games and combining tower defense games with a deckbuilder is super interesting. I always tend to always add too many meh cards to my deck, but it seemed to work okay in this game. I felt cards could be used for upgrades, perhaps instead of playing a card alone, you could play it on an existing tower of the game type? Not a huge deal, the variety in towers worked very much well enough for this game. I agree that a little delay at the start would help a lot, but the scramble to start was pretty fun. I expect the fix to this if you choose to keep going would be to balance the waves a bit more carefully. I dunno. Overall really fun, one of my more favored games this game, and I've rated 104 of them. |
| Oct 21 17:00:06 | 131h 12m | Roboten | ♥ 1 | The concept was really really cool, really unique and it led to fun puzzling, which I felt the level design supported really well! Sadly, as with others, I felt the lava hurt this. With the really tall levels, falling and having to re-do sections seemed like enough motivation to not fall. Or maybe checkpoints would've made the lava feel less punishing. But very tall levels made the lava feel pretty frustrating. I found the little things the boxes said pretty funny! I liked the faces as well! Good job overall. |
| Oct 21 17:07:53 | 7m 47s | BOMBA LINE | ♥ 0 | What a cool take on snake! I really enjoyed the strategy of where to place explosions. I got 29! A little explosion sound would've been soooo satisfying! |
| Oct 21 17:27:03 | 19m 10s | Sweetheart Speedrun | ♥ 1 | Cool little fetching game. I got to 30,000 by bringing partial loads, and had no end in sight. It seemed like as long as you knew where things were and brought partial loads back regularly, you could go on forever. I could see this being quite fun with a fleshed out map! |
| Oct 21 17:33:00 | 5m 57s | Dimension Rush | ♥ 0 | Nice short-and-sweet platformer. The way the controls could change mid air really god me. I felt the difficulty and checkpoint spacing was pretty appropriate. Maybe the low-friction dimension was a little too hard, but I made a little progress there. Good job! |
| Oct 21 17:42:58 | 9m 58s | Gold Collex Hex Defense | ♥ 0 | Cool little tower thing. Like others, I found the initial stage of the game quite confusing. For some reason, if I put down a tower preview before breaking the gold storage, it wouldn't spawn the gold. Once I got going, putting stuff down felt quite good with the gold dragging around. |
