| Apr 26 21:19:26 | Diacombs | ♥ 1 | I loved the hallway section that was flooded with diacombs. Really great puzzle design! Nice work. | |
| Apr 27 02:05:12 | 4h 45m | DEEP GOLF | ♥ 2 | I absolutely love how the background of the next level is the ground from the previous stage. Absolutely incredible effect. I had to go for the speedrun record! I love the track layering, and how the music gets more intense the further down you are. Seriously superb stuff. Incredible work all around! |
| Apr 27 02:22:43 | 17m 31s | Super Debt Speedrun | ♥ 5 | Ha! this is a hilarious take on the theme! It takes a bit to get used too, but I love the graphics, and the voice acting is top notch. LD_Debt.PNG |
| Apr 27 02:39:43 | 17m 00s | Phantom | ♥ 3 | I like how the character's weapon doubles as a grapple hook. Cool idea, and the scenes in game look nice. the music was definitely the highlight of the game! Great work. |
| Apr 27 02:52:01 | 12m 18s | Ixcar'th | ♥ 3 | Dang that music hits pretty hard. nice job! That fight against two bosses was pretty tough, but I did it! Great game! |
| Apr 27 03:03:15 | 11m 14s | Nav's Endless Nightmare | ♥ 2 | Woah, incredible work on the graphics! From the teeth in the background at the start of the level, to just how adorable the main character is, the artwork is just phenomenal! |
| Apr 27 03:11:52 | 8m 37s | Turtruckin' | ♥ 1 | Ha. Nice take on the theme. The game is a bit rough around the edges, but it only adds to the humor. Nicely done. |
| Apr 27 03:21:09 | 9m 17s | Shovel Guy | ♥ 1 | The artwork is adorable, and I love the puzzles! Nice work. I got to about 6 before running into puzzles I've already seen though, so I didn't play too much further after that. |
| Apr 27 03:37:05 | 15m 56s | RED to the past | ♥ 2 | Wow. Honestly this game looks so unbelievably good. 5/5 for humor! Outstanding job, ha! LD_com.PNG |
| Apr 27 03:49:33 | 12m 28s | Altum Altum | ♥ 4 | Great job on the puzzles! I couldn't get past level 11, but I had a lot of fun getting there. |
| Apr 27 04:18:18 | 28m 45s | Gone Fishing | ♥ 4 | Wow this is adorable! I loved every fish's design, though ran into some trouble as scratchy was looking for a fish that I believe was in the third section, but the money was moving in so slowly I gave up before getting that far. The music was absolutely perfect, and I could easily imagine a younger version of myself sinking hours upon hours into this. Well done. |
| Apr 27 14:14:21 | 9h 56m | Dungeonfall | ♥ 2 | Great work making the momentum of the swinging hammer feel incredibly satisfying when smacking around the foes! The powerups were also a really good touch. The multiple designs for the floors make the game well varied, and they all look great! Nice game. |
| Apr 27 14:24:37 | 10m 16s | Third Party | ♥ 2 | Incredibly done! Seriously great work all around. I love every level I played, and Had fun figuring out the best way to stealth my way through every room. And my goodness, the music slaps hard! Fantastic work! My only complaint is that I crashed rather deep into my playthrough. Not sure what happened exactly... I was holding a guy, I dropped him so I could pick up another guy, but accidentally picked him back up shortly after dropping him. Anyway, here was the last frame of my heroic adventure. Great game! LD_crash.PNG |
| Apr 27 14:34:59 | 10m 22s | Keep moving and nobody falls | ♥ 3 | I really enjoy this one! The hex-tile Minesweeper Spleef idea is a lot of fun, though I'm quite terrible at Minesweeper. I enjoyed the game a whole lot! I didn't even notice the first few times I played because I was mostly looking at the tiles, but the character is super well made! You should know that the game will softlock if you just walk off the edge of the map though! I guess there's still the pause menu, so it's not too bad. LD_m.PNG |
| Apr 27 14:55:24 | 20m 25s | Blue Abyss | ♥ 2 | I wish the game over screen wasn't an immediate fade to black, I would've loved to share a screenshot of my best run! Absolutely incredible work all across the board, the visuals are nice, the ambient water noises are a good touch (as well as the pressure warning!) and I enjoyed the challenge! Great game. |
| Apr 27 15:01:48 | 6m 24s | Sewer's Plague : Into the nest | ♥ 5 | You should make sure your link to the game is labeled Web build, I assumed since it says "windows" that I would need to download it. The music is amazing, the artwork is goofy and absolutely fantastic! I love the frantic button pushing animation when the player moves up and down! Great game! zLD_g.PNG |
| Apr 27 15:11:31 | 9m 43s | Granny's secret | ♥ 3 | Neat stealth game! I wasn't able to find any frogs, which I assume was the goal? I just kinda walked around reading the notes. Speaking of, It would probably be a good idea to pause the granny movements when a note it open. I was too busy reading it to be able to dodge the incoming enemy. Neat little game. |
| Apr 27 15:18:27 | 6m 56s | Gemfall | ♥ 4 | Wow, I love the visuals! The background is very pretty. an oh my god, the music! Seriously, the music is such a jam. I accidentally picked up the Russian version from the itch page, so I'm not sure howe well, I did, but here's by best run: zlD_gem.PNG |
| Apr 27 16:24:10 | 1h 05m | Perry The Penny | ♥ 2 | I found the best strategy is to relax and bounce on a mushroom infinitely. I don't know if the game has an ending, I played for quite a long time, but I eventually gave up. Cool game, I like the various shapes that the coin can take! It's a nice touch to transform into larger coins, then a bag of money. Great game. strat.PNG |
| Apr 27 16:36:38 | 12m 28s | That Movie You Watched in Science Class... | ♥ 1 | Wow that was fun! This is a game that would absolutely benefit by displaying your speedrun time at the end of the game! I had to play it multiple times just trying to find the fastest route. Really cool game, and I love the variations in the ore textures, despite all of them being an obstacle! |
| Apr 27 16:44:53 | 8m 15s | Grave Fallers | ♥ 1 | I had a lot of fun with this! When you die, It says "Nice try" which led to me assuming there's a win condition. after a second run, I think it's just endless. In any case, here's the best run I had. zld_deep.PNG Nice work! |
| Apr 27 17:05:56 | 21m 03s | 6 Feet Under | ♥ 6 | Best game I've played this jam. Absolutely incredible. I don't even know where to begin. I love how the character dances if you idle long enough. I just love how creative the movement in this game is! The music is so incredibly catchy! There's a pretty steep difficulty curve, but it just encourages you to get the hang of the controls. This has been the greatest game I've seen yet this jam, and I'm absolutely going to be showing my friends. EDIT: wow, that ending. Unbelievable work. you have set the bar for how I rate games. ld_wow.PNG It aslo has a built in speedrun clock. This game genuinely can't be topped. |
| Apr 27 18:07:24 | 1h 01m | Dante's Lust-ferno | ♥ 1 | I like the story, and Socrates showing up was quite a surprise! That said, the game is fairly broken, as the notes don't work and you need to guess on how to seduce the demon. Additionally, after succeeding the game returns to the title, so there really isn't much to the game. Interesting concept though! |
| Apr 27 18:21:15 | 13m 51s | Pâquerette Down the Bunburrow | ♥ 2 | The artwork is outstandingly adorable! The color palettes for each stage are just perfect! Serious compliments to the artist. The music was pretty fantastic too. Great game! one of the best this jam. ld_beautiful.PNG |
| Apr 27 18:40:14 | 18m 59s | The Rabbit Hole | ♥ 0 | That was a really clever take on the theme! I couldn't figure out how to go from Javascript to Babylonian mathematics, in 3 clicks, but I had some fun trying to figure it out! Cool game. |
| Apr 27 21:17:07 | 2h 36m | SlappyBird | ♥ 1 | Oh man, there definitely needs to be a few more checkpoints at the end. I got to 47 coins when a bat got me through the floor I was standing on. The last section just stretched on for multiple minutes without a checkpoint, so taking a death in the late-game is incredibly punishing. I really enjoyed the voice acting, and the 3D models were well made too! Nice work. |
| Apr 29 16:28:43 | 43h 11m | So-so-phia | ♥ 3 | The self aware humor is absolutely hilarious! This was definitely the most well written game I've played from this Ludum Dare. I got to the very end, with the "just alt + F4" text, so I think I can safely say I experienced all this had to offer. I like how the trees in the background wobble around a bit,. it's subtle but that's the kind of attention to detail that gets overlooked all too often! Also the final boss was a lot of fun, you definitely hit the nail on the head by removing the blink cooldown. I think the music was a bit repetitive, despite the note where so-so-phia incorrectly assumed the music would change between dimensions. It is a pretty funny bit, though. Great work! |
| Apr 30 16:23:58 | 23h 55m | Bl*bert | ♥ 1 | Wow, it was a lot harder than it looked! Watching you play the game in the discord voice channel made the game look like a breeze! I think I passed to 100 tile mark, but I'm not sure. It would be cool to provide the depth of your last run on the title screen as well! I like the music that you added, and I know it was literally the last thing you put in the game, but it does get repetitive rather quickly. That said, the pitch shifting with the depth definitely makes it more interesting and works very well! I think if the enemy hitboxes were a bit more lenient when mid-air, I would feel less "cheated" out of losing some of my runs. There were times where I definitely thought I was going to be sliding right past them just in time to avoid dying, but alas. Really cool entry! LD_dang.PNG More times than not, I would avoid the orbs, because turning back to get them would put me in way more danger than collecting the orb is worth. ha! |
| Apr 30 16:44:30 | 20m 32s | Deeper&Deeper LLC | ♥ 1 | I've always gotta give bonus points to any game that has voice acting. Nice sound effects, ha! As already mentioned, it would be nice to know if we're registering a hit. Like, perhaps another 'oof' sound effect, or some particles like blood, or a more family-friendly option where they lose leaflets of evidence as a particle effect. In any case, nice work finishing a game! |
| Apr 30 16:56:12 | 11m 42s | Wizard Dungeon Escape 3D | ♥ 1 | I really enjoyed the puzzles! Excellent work. I also liked the sound effects when the crystals are being interacted with. Super cool stuff. Nice game. |
| Apr 30 18:28:49 | 1h 32m | Dante's Refrigerator | ♥ 0 | I love the smear frames on the animations! Superb work on the graphics. The story is amusing, and I like how the deeper you go, the less frozen everything becomes. Cool game, I made it to the end, where you meet up with the meatballs. Nice work. |
| May 1 18:00:03 | 23h 31m | Deeper Daddy | ♥ 1 | I love the artwork! I absolutely love the pink color palette. The music is a bit repetitive, but for a one man Jam having music at all is an accomplishment. Sometimes the giant blocks would obscure the path, and it's hard to know if there's something behind it that would end the run. Really cool game! |
| May 1 18:14:03 | 14m 00s | The Pit | ♥ 0 | What a unique entry. I couldn't find any lost possessions myself, but I definitely enjoyed the movement by wiggling yourself around everything. Interesting game! |
| May 1 18:22:14 | 8m 11s | Into the Rabbit Hole | ♥ 1 | Oh wow, that was unique! I was absolutely not expecting that. I think opening the game with 5 logos was a bit of a tedious decision, but that's just my input. Really cool entry, and nice voice acting! |
| May 1 18:33:52 | 11m 38s | Aleph Null | ♥ 0 | Ouch my eyes. By biggest complaint is the inconsistency with the block breaking. I couldn't find a patterns as to why I could smack a block, I hear the sound effect, I'm blinded by particles, and when they fade away the block is still there. This became increasingly frustrating when the time limits got stricter and stricter. In any case, I made it to the end of the game and freed the character from addiction, I think. It's a bit rough around the edges, but it's a nice entry. |
| May 1 18:39:55 | 6m 03s | In The Tower | ♥ 0 | I was unable to clear the level that had the first enemy. I don't know if there was some way to lure it away from you, but I was unable to avoid it. The artwork is stellar, though the game is lacking audio for a game about noise. Nice entry! |
| May 2 16:53:40 | 22h 13m | Robo-Driller | ♥ 1 | A very charming high-score game! It's definitely one of those games that needs no introduction, you can figure out what's going to kill you and how to avoid it, it's only a matter of execution. Great work, it's a lot of fun! |
| May 2 17:05:31 | 11m 51s | Hammer It In! | ♥ 1 | I made it to the core, which I assume is the end of the game, though at a depth of 222.0 it said I broke the nail. I assume that's the victory screen, though considering 'breaking the nail' is also a lose condition, I would've created a different screen for the win condition. The music gets stale rather quickly, it would've been cool to add in more instruments the deeper you go; Either that or making the song longer than 4 measures. Initially I tried swinging the hammer in tune with the music, like some sort of rhythm game, but that's way too fast and the nail breaks. I enjoyed the art a lot! The character in the house was a fun touch, along with the mermaids. The 3D model for the walls surrounding the core were nice too! The art is definitely the strongest part of the game. The gameplay was more tedious than fun, but the variety in decorations as you move deeper made it enjoyable the whole way through. This is definitely a unique entry! Great work. |
| May 2 18:15:40 | 1h 10m | Boneitis - Quest for the Cure | ♥ 1 | Just a heads up, if you "genuinely thought nobody would get" to the end of your game, you should probably rethink the win condition of your game. I've done that before too, back in Ludum Dare 35, along with my very own "I didn't think anybody would get this far" message. As I have since learned, people tend to like a game better if they can beat it. LD_dARNrIGHT.PNG In any case, the game slows down dramatically after floor 40. There should seriously be some sort of additional rock that just spits out diamonds. I passed floor 100 and was pretty disappointed at the lack of additional features. I really liked the random generation, and the variation of the walls inside the caves added a whole lot! The enemies were well designed, and drawn pretty well too! I like the overworld music, though the incredibly bass-heavy cave music could be raised an octave, or even be given its own melody. I really enjoyed the game and had a lot of fun for the first ten minutes or so, but it dropped off after a while and became a chore to finish. I wish there was some way to cryogenically freeze my daughter so the cure for Boneitis would be a bit more readily available! |
| May 8 16:21:27 | 142h 05m | Drowning in debts | ♥ 1 | I love the idea of the money ticking down every second. I did the same thing in my Ludum Dare 44 entry, though your in-game shop definitely has some better things to buy, ha! There's a lot of great variety in the fish, both how the AI runs away, or just the artwork. Marvelous work. |
| May 8 16:27:07 | 5m 40s | Billy Nauseous | ♥ 3 | I love the dithering effect on the wall when you enter a new room! I think some elements could be a bit more clear, like the spikes. I initially just thought those giant rib-looking structures were decoration, but later found out it takes 2 whole hearts for stepping on it! All around, this is a pretty nice game! Great work. |
| May 8 16:39:45 | 12m 38s | Deep Dive | ♥ 1 | Man, what in the world happened on Level 4? The game went from a real casual fun time to instantly impossible. And this is obviously just my personal opinion, but the difficulty curve became a vertical line. Why in the world does the treasure touching a hazard end the run? I had so much fun with the first 3 levels, but suddenly I'm forced to make incredibly precise moves like a kaizo rom hack, and I just gave up after five or so minutes. I love the gravity switching idea, It's seriously brilliant! Honestly this game just has a really cool idea surrounding it. As others have mentioned, some music / sound effects would've been a nice touch, though it's no big deal. I definitely would like to see more of what the game had to offer, but with just how precise everything had to be with level 4, I can only hope levels after it can find difficulty in ways other than precision platforming. Maybe some cool puzzle segments where the treasure needs to weigh down a pressure plate opening a door or something, and then you need to find some way to retrieve it and still make it to the other side of the door. Anyway, it's a cool game. Nice work. |
| May 8 16:53:44 | 13m 59s | Monkey Quest | ♥ 0 | The biggest flaw was lava under dirt. I'm not some game design guru or anything, but man- I lost my run with one monkey left to rescue, with one heart remaining, real nervous stuff- because of a lava tile under a piece of dirt. Furthermore, losing the game means restarting from level one, and I just didn't have the fortitude the play the whole game a second time. The artwork was delightful, and I enjoyed the music too! The shop was a really cool idea, and I love the sound effects for everything. How did you make such a nice chime sound for the pickaxe swinging and the crystals? It's fantastic! Great work. |
| May 8 17:02:53 | 9m 09s | Let's Go Deeper | ♥ 1 | I didn't get far because I'm just not a huge fan of Arkanoid. That said, I did enjoy the few extra mechanics I saw, such as the space invaders. The music was pretty creepy, ha! Nice work on the game! |
| May 8 17:13:16 | 10m 23s | Lunar Laundry | ♥ 1 | It's like those tube sections of Spyro 3, but as it's own game. Nice work! I like how the collectibles are socks, ha! |
| May 8 17:17:37 | 4m 21s | Deep in mars | ♥ 1 | I really enjoyed setting up my own base. In my first run I wasn't entirely sure what to do and an asteroid blew up the only humans alive, which I found rather hilarious. I like the music, it made the game feel nice and calm, despite the asteroid threat. Great work! |
| May 8 17:47:13 | 29m 36s | Blackout | ♥ 4 | Absolutely incredible! I love how the paintings with mysterious writing that you find in the first minute or so of the game, are the developers! (or so I assume. after turning on the lights I read some of them.) Super impressive game. The puzzles were great! The only reason I found the cigarettes was from one of the screenshots posted on the itch.io page, ha! I clicked on the bed numerous times, but I didn't even think to try searching that one specific corner of it. The music is outstanding! Marvelous work all around. The story was charming, especially when you run into people after the lights are on. "The drink was a little funky though" hahahaaaaaa! get pranked. Outstanding job. |
| May 8 17:52:52 | 5m 39s | Deep Sea | ♥ 1 | Nice work, especially for the compo! I love the boss fight with the laser-crab lookin' dude. I'm terrible at games and died at some point, but I enjoyed the heck out of what I got to play. Nice work! The graphics are great (though I kept confusing the diamond shaped enemies as a powerup, ha!) and the sound effects were nice too! |
| May 8 17:56:43 | 3m 51s | Dungeon : Developer's Away | ♥ 1 | It's a shame the game is as small as it is, but I like the premise so far. The skeleton looks pretty great, by the way. |
| May 8 18:05:32 | 8m 49s | Subterplane | ♥ 1 | LD_plane.PNG This was a lot of fun! I noticed that a new cave spawns you much higher than just restarting the run does. Though I absolutely love the detail of seeing your crashed ships from prior runs, it's brilliant! Cool game. |
| May 8 18:11:15 | 5m 43s | Yerlik | ♥ 2 | Oh the twist ending, HA! That was definitely not how I expected the game to end. The artwork is fantastic, (especially the last frame for the twist ending) and I love the story throughout the game. I definitely found it best to avoid the food, and when my evil clone was fighting me they made the fatal mistake of nabbing all of it, which slowed them down so much that the fight was basically free. Anyway, such a cool game! Great job. |
| May 8 18:14:25 | 3m 10s | Ramón | ♥ 2 | I love how the steering wheel of the ship is an NES controller! The pixel art is very well made! Great job. |
| May 8 18:21:43 | 7m 18s | Conspiracy Dive | ♥ 2 | Some very unique puzzles! I like the google logo one, ha! I didn't really solve the one with the music and the tv, I just kinda fiddled with the interactables until the door opened. Cool game! |
| May 8 18:26:04 | 4m 21s | Dwarven Surveyor | ♥ 1 | Super original idea! I love the drills and stuff. The game took a little bit of time to figure out, but once I figured out what the objective was, it was smooth sailing. Cool stuff, and nice music / sound effects! |
| May 8 18:36:10 | 10m 06s | Duggy | ♥ 1 | I spent the first three levels clearing out every block and then taking out the last enemy. I don't know if I'm just insane, but it seemed like I was losing points between stages. Like, leaving level 3 I had over 75,000 points, but entering level 4 I had 20,000. Anyway, the art was great looking ,and I liked the background music, though the music could've been a bit longer of a loop. Great work all around! |
| May 8 18:39:03 | 2m 53s | Underground | ♥ 1 | I fell off the first platform, and into the void I went. The camera absolutely needs to zoom out a little, the player takes up almost 20% of the entire screen! I like the artwork, and the guy with the top hat looked cool! Nice job composing music too! |
| May 8 18:44:41 | 5m 38s | Dig Dog! | ♥ 1 | This was a pretty cool game! I love the artwork, and the bloopy music is nice too! LD_score.PNG I did however find a softlock (though you have a reset button, so it's no big deal). You can get stuck in this corner with no way of losing. LD_scoresoftlock.PNG Anyway, the was a pretty great game! Nice work! |
| May 8 18:48:17 | 3m 36s | Abracatabra DBDBDeep | ♥ 1 | I have to be honest, I'm not entirely sure what all the potions do, but I somehow won the game anyway. I love the artwork for the potions though. Nice work! |
| May 8 18:56:13 | 7m 56s | Space Buddies | ♥ 0 | I really liked the aiming system! I don't much else to say- the artwork was great, I loved the music, and the way you hold down to focus was really cool! Really nice game. |
| May 11 02:41:22 | 55h 45m | Walls | ♥ 1 | Cool game! I made it to the end. I liked the the remote, and I wish the game had more puzzles with it! Nice work. |
| May 11 02:45:35 | 4m 13s | Clear Your Mind | ♥ 1 | I like the game, my best time is 28.6 seconds! It's touch to go real fast, but it's a pretty fun game to try speedrunning. Nice work on the voice acting too! cool game. |
| May 11 03:13:41 | 28m 06s | Deeper and deeper | ♥ 1 | The game was pretty easy! I was able to go way over the map by going over the upper right. I found the bottle, with the QR Code- though I don't have a QR scanner. A friend scanned it for me and told me it was a rick roll, ha! Nice game. |
| May 11 18:54:39 | 15h 40m | Vinewell | ♥ 1 | The biggest flaw is the occasional impossible generation. LD_impossible.PNG I like the core concept, and it's a fun game too! The graphics / music could have some more substance to them, but for a compo game in 48 hours, it's pretty good. Nice job! |
| May 11 19:19:26 | 24m 47s | Nuclear Arms 8: Navigate the Hate | ♥ 2 | I absolutely love the character design! It looks like this, being the 8th installment in the Nuclear Arms series, has had a lot of love put into it! I was able to cheese most of the levels by spamming jump while hugging walls, but I still had an absolutely great time throughout the entire game! I LOVE the voice acting! Seriously incredible work! The inner monologues are amazing too. Great job writing the story, and the humor is top notch. Nice work. I checked out some of the earlier Nuclear Arms games, and It's neat to see that you started with LD32. That was my first Ludum Dare as well, and it's crazy to see how much you've improved along the way! |
| May 11 19:47:59 | 28m 33s | The Devil Lurks in Coin | ♥ 2 | I love the mystery solving! I assume there's 3 different endings, based on who you talk to- though I'm not going to play the game 3 times just to see them all. I love the artwork, and the music is nice too! Seriously great job. |
| May 11 20:40:19 | 52m 20s | Deep Roots | ♥ 2 | I love the puzzles, though some of them got rather absurd near the end. I don't know if it's the intended solution, but I just trapped one of the roots in a 'bowl' like shape, so as long as I never move upwards, I only need to focus on 2 roots, so once those are solved I can leave the "bowl" with the last root and complete the level. Great work! I think the movement flipping mechanic is a bit too much, the game was super easy to manage up to that point, but I feel like it added an element of memorizing which ones were flipped at a given moment, and I wasn't a big fan. Overall, one of the best puzzle games this jam. Nice work! ld_gg.PNG |
| May 11 20:47:13 | 6m 54s | Deep Finger | ♥ 2 | Well that was certainly an experience. I enjoyed the puzzles! Nice work with voice acting, it's always a treat to hear in a jam game! ld_gg.PNG |
| May 11 20:52:18 | 5m 05s | Perchance to dream | ♥ 2 | You gotta love a good ol' text based adventure. I like the misty puffs of steam rising around the edges of the screen. The music is a nice touch too! I really liked the story, though some of the buttons didn't seem to work. Nice game! |
| May 11 22:27:44 | 1h 35m | Through Dimensions | ♥ 3 | Holy cow, an NES Game! I just ***had*** to make a Tool Assisted Speedrun! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Va19po3nohI Great level design, and seriously great work for making a NES game in 48 hours. Ciao! |
| May 12 00:28:23 | 2h 00m | Hypnagogia | ♥ 1 | The text was incredibly small on my end- my monitor is 3840 * 2160 and this is what the screen looks like when playing the game. (downscaled, so the image doesn't take up the entire page) ld_what.PNG In any case, the game was interesting- though I don't think there's a win condition other than make it to the right of the stage where you hop off- and it seems to loop forever. I really like how the music adds some static and whitenoise as the death-wall approaches. that's pretty cool! Nice work. |
| May 12 00:36:28 | 8m 05s | Virtually Deeper | ♥ 1 | I like the music! I never noticed any threat from the enemy, I just had an endless amount of characters fighting it. Some more variety would take this game a lot further! |
| May 12 02:26:30 | 1h 50m | Soya Jodugari | ♥ 0 | I wish the player should cast the attacks faster! other than that, i really enjoyed the artwork and the music. Great job for your first Ludum Dare! |
| May 12 02:37:12 | 10m 42s | GRIMM | ♥ 3 | First and foremost, the artwork is incredible! The music seemed a bit odd, it sounded like there were multiple songs stacking on top of each other, each with non-synced beats. For the gameplay, I have one giant piece of feedback. It's never a good idea to force the player in a situation where they need to jump to a point lower than the bottom of the screen with no information about what's below. This is referred to as a "Blind Jump" and from the player's perspective, all it does is make them upset when it leads to their death. Even in a situation where a blind jump doesn't kill the player, it's still a nerve wracking experience when the fate of the run rests in what's below, and the player has no idea what it could be. At least have some indicator of hazards off screen. when a player dies from that, they'll never feel like it was their own fault, which leads to frustration. In any case, as mentioned, the artwork is great. I love the title screen, and the little "jump scare" at the end of the game. cool stuff, just keep blind jumps in mind for future projects. |
| May 12 02:43:33 | 6m 21s | Fish Slapping Simulator 2021 | ♥ 0 | I had a lot of fun with this one! I like the fish slapping sound effect, ha! There really isn't much too the game, but for a game made within 48 hours, it gets the job done. ld_hooray.PNG |
| May 12 02:49:28 | 5m 55s | Deep Freeze Café | ♥ 1 | The controls were a bit rough. I understand that W just moves me in the direction the guy is facing, but standard WASD to move Up, Left, Down, and Right would've been preferred. It doesn't appear that the game has an end, or at least I didn't get that far. I did however notice that the freezer isn't infinite, and you can fall into the void. Neat game. Would've been nice to have some music, but for a game made in 48 hours it's not bad. |
| May 12 02:58:23 | 8m 55s | Crashdown | ♥ 1 | Ooh, I like the look of this one. The multiple levels stacking behind each other is a really cool idea. The music was superb, and I like the variety in weapons (though the cannon was *far* superior than the sword). Great work! I wish there was a "you win" screen or something instead of reloading the title, but oh well. Cool game. |
| May 12 03:16:38 | 18m 15s | Belongings Left Behind | ♥ 1 | I don't want to sound too critical, but making the game permanently an ice level / needing to avoid the red circle dramatically reduced the enjoyment I was having. The platforming is already incredibly tight- but with ice physics and needing to dodge the enemy combined it was just unfun. That said, I did beat the game. ld_wow.PNG I like the story and the character design. The terrain / background could have some more substance though. Overall it was a little rough around the edges, but not 'bad'. The music was really great! And for a game made in 72 hours, you did a pretty good job. |
| May 12 20:40:23 | 17h 23m | My Friend John | ♥ 0 | I like the idea, though the game does feel a bit repetitive / lacking in content. After reading through the spoilers, I really like the idea you went with. I didn't even notice the network icon representing anything, as I never misclicked on a red option. In any case, I like the idea, and I found the 'bot' messages pretty funny, like the cars extended warranty bit. Cool entry. |
| May 12 20:44:29 | 4m 06s | Wisdom of the Ancients | ♥ 1 | I'm not great at text based adventures, but I enjoyed some of the humor from me trying ridiculous options, like pickup up the temple. "That's hardly portable" ha! Nice work. |
| May 12 20:47:53 | 3m 24s | PICO-8 Hexagon Topology Generator (updated version) | ♥ 1 | Neat little demo. I enjoyed making snowflake-looking things. I'm curious to see what this will turn into! |
| May 12 20:57:39 | 9m 46s | Shoot Them Deeper | ♥ 1 | It would be really interesting if it would ask you to recall how many of one shape there were when there were multiple shapes to keep track of. Perhaps it tells you to count spheres and pyramids, but asks for only the pyramid count. In any case, I think it was a bit difficult to juggle counting and surviving, but that makes it an interesting game. nice work. |
| May 12 21:03:26 | 5m 47s | Augmented | ♥ 0 | I like the character designs, though I wish there was more to do than just talk to the suspect. |
| May 12 21:05:37 | 2m 11s | Geocnetric Go! | ♥ 1 | Ha, you don't see many microphone controlled games! Really creative entry! Nice job on the graphics too! |
| May 12 21:10:22 | 4m 45s | Deeper | ♥ 2 | Just a heads up, with background parallax, you want the background to scroll *slower* than the foreground. it looks off in this game as it's scrolling faster. The character has a real fun design, by the way! Nice game. |
| May 12 21:23:01 | 12m 39s | Deeper And Deeper | ♥ 0 | I have never seen a 3D PICO-8 game before. I am unbelievably impressed (and almost intimidated) I played to a maze size of 40 something, and decided I had seen enough. Really cool game. ld_3d.PNG |
| May 12 21:35:52 | 12m 51s | This is DEEPER | ♥ 1 | I think allowing the player to heal over time made the game way too easy. I decided to end my run- I didn't lose the game. In any case, here's my score: ld_enough.PNG The indicators of incoming hazards is great! (because I've played similar games this jam with no such indicators) This is a well made game, i just think the endless nature with the player healing over time is a bit unneeded, and it can drag the run on longer than it needs to be. |
| May 12 22:32:17 | 56m 25s | Flood Fill Miner | ♥ 1 | Honestly one of the most fun games I've played so far this event. Fantastic work! I softlocked by clearing every single tile on screen during a crazy time freeze chain, ha! Nice game! I'll consider that a win condition. |
| May 12 22:43:33 | 11m 16s | Dig Deeper & Digger | ♥ 2 | This is definitely an easy game, and I never really struggled to pick up carrots. I had to intentionally let the timer run out for the game to end. Cool game though! I like the art (though not a huge fan of the puking animation). Nice game! |
| May 12 22:49:07 | 5m 34s | It's Nice Down There | ♥ 3 | Ooh, I love the atmosphere with this one! The glitchy tiles begin to have a nice rhythm to them, adding to the music of the game. Pickles acquired. Great job on the artwork! |
| May 12 22:54:03 | 4m 56s | Ballast | ♥ 1 | Ha! The confetti at the end, oh my god that's great! It's a lot to manage, but I had fun the whole way through. I love the artwork, especially the little guy one the TV. I didn't die in my run and beat the game first try! Fantastic entry. |
| May 12 23:08:59 | 14m 56s | LUNA IN THE SKY WITH DIAMONDS (FESTA ESTRANHA COM GENTE ESQUISITA ) | ♥ 1 | I absolutely love how ridiculous this game gets. The screen filters get more and more ridiculous, and I almost wish there were more filters being added than just pumping up the chromatic aberration. The RGB particles are a great touch too! It reminds me of an incredibly old concept I had for a game called "Pretty Princess Acid Trip". Outstanding work! |
| May 12 23:18:57 | 9m 58s | Miner Rescue | ♥ 1 | I love the artwork on the terrain! As mentioned, the tight terrain can be a hassle to navigate without destroying the ship, but I really enjoyed the game. Thank goodness this game has checkpoints, ha! I know for a fact there are other games just like this without checkpoints, and with a game as long as this one the inclusion of checkpoints is very very appreciated. Nice work! |
| May 12 23:25:34 | 6m 37s | LD48 - Tunnel Ninja | ♥ 0 | Ha! I love the goofy death messages! Great sense of humor. I only made it to about a depth of 7 before I felt like the gameplay was getting too repetitive. That said, I love the upgrades, I wish I could keep the money between runs! |
| May 12 23:30:24 | 4m 50s | Dream Catcher | ♥ 1 | I like the inclusion of a tutorial, though I think some of it is unneeded. Like, duh- I'm going to be dodging bombs. The game was a lot of fun, I love the flailing limbs of the character, ha! Great job. |
| May 12 23:49:40 | 19m 16s | Memory Dive | ♥ 0 | I definitely had some trouble figuring out how to sync up with memories. It could definitely have an in-game explanation, or even just a better guide to how it works on the Ludum Dare game page. I synced up with the second memory of Leslea, and the really long one from Trent- though it felt like there were too many choices, and it would take a very long time to guess and figure out which memories are the correct choices to make. Really cool game, but I wish there was some more direction. From my perspective it felt more like guessing. Oh- and the artwork as absolutely incredible! |
| May 13 00:06:37 | 16m 57s | Fallen Angel | ♥ 1 | Neat game! It reminds me of downwell. I like the music. I recognized "undefined01.ogg" as one of the instruments... the one that just goes "you lose". An odd choice, but your music made it work well! |
| May 13 00:16:27 | 9m 50s | Boom Boom Revolution | ♥ 2 | Very difficult, but a lot of fun! As already mentioned, a tutorial would help go a long way. I like the character and the lizard/dinosaur/alien creatures. It reminds me a bit of "Crypt of the Necrodancer". Cool game! |
| May 13 00:21:31 | 5m 04s | Slimes and Sandwiches | ♥ 1 | Yo, I love the method for creating the randomized dungeons, by having the 2D physics move them around. Very neat idea! I love the sound effects, and the "oof" noises are good fun too! Nice game. |
| May 15 17:12:28 | 64h 50m | Down - The game | ♥ 1 | Are those levels randomly generated? That's super impressive, and I had a lot of fun with your game! I think it's a bit of a slow start when you just have one character. it really feels like all I'm doing is waiting- though it's much nicer once all the prisoners are freed. Anyway, nice work! |
| May 15 17:22:37 | 10m 09s | Riches Await Below | ♥ 1 | The movement was a bit wonky at times. I definitely think the rest of the comments here have made the point already, but the character moves really slow, and it dramatically makes the game less fun. I think the game could have some sound effects too, that would be fun. Nice work! |
| May 15 17:33:40 | 11m 03s | Worlds Below | ♥ 1 | I love the color palette! I assume it's the 4 color game boy palette, and it looks great. Stunning work on the graphics. LD_HECKYEAH.PNG I had a lot of fun with this! The music as catchy too! MY only complaint is the camera was a little wonky, and I would've preferred it being static over following the cursor. Great work. |
| May 15 17:41:00 | 7m 20s | Elevator Ninja | ♥ 1 | I love the voice acting! My biggest criticism is that when you die you need to restart the game entirely. Even after getting to the parachute section, I hoped I at least had a check point. I never made it to the end, so I don't know if the gems actually matter at all. It would be nice to display the gems collected on the death screen though. The graphics are nice, and I love the various poses the guy makes when dodging attacks. |
| May 15 17:47:38 | 6m 38s | Puzzle Cove | ♥ 1 | I made it to the thanks for playing screen, though I moved on before taking a screenshot because I saw there was more. whoops! Anyway, this game is fantastic! The artwork as adorable, and the music is pretty catchy. The puzzles are well made, and I love how every mechanic is gradually introduced in a way that intuitively teaches the player exactly how they work. Great job. |
| May 15 17:51:50 | 4m 12s | BreakEven | ♥ 0 | Dang, any games created with a tiny console like Pico-8 or TIC-80 always impress me. I like the story, and the graphics are pretty nice too! Great job. |
| May 15 17:57:06 | 5m 16s | A Frogs Tale | ♥ 0 | The combat cutscenes were neat, though I wish there was some amount of interactivity during them. I died in the 2nd battle, which just let me keep playing the game and when entering the 3rd battle I didn't appear and the game softlocked. I like the dash and the wall sliding! The game definitely had a lot of ideas going around! Great work. |
| May 15 18:01:27 | 4m 21s | Deeper and Deeper into Outer Space | ♥ 1 | I like how the screen loops, so going off screen takes you to the other side. There could definitely be a bit more variety with the asteroids, maybe some could be larger or smaller than others. The music was pretty good too! ld_score.PNG Nice game! |
| May 15 18:06:56 | 5m 29s | Goblin Heist | ♥ 3 | I made it to the end of the game! My score was just barely over 1,000 due to frequently getting caught, but hey- I had a fun time playing the game! Nice work. |
| May 15 18:57:12 | 50m 16s | Cosmonoid | ♥ 1 | Wow this is really cool! I love the last level the most! It's pretty difficult, but super satisfying to pull off! Great job on the music too, it's very nice. Fantastic entry. |
| May 15 19:06:03 | 8m 51s | Mine Flower | ♥ 1 | I beat the game! I really appreciate the checkpoints! You have no idea how many Ludum Dare games are of equal length to this one but just opt to reset the game upon death. it's ridiculous! I love the music, and the story is pretty great too. Nice boss fight! Great work all around. |
| May 15 19:21:12 | 15m 09s | Reaper | ♥ 1 | It was pretty easy- after all, you could just teleport to the guy standing at the exit of the level, thus skipping each level. The boss was pretty cool though- I really enjoyed it! The aesthetic was fun- with the 80s retro look. Cool game! ld_hooray.PNG |
| May 15 19:29:01 | 7m 49s | Chuck Challenger: The Hunt for Malpractice Mole | ♥ 0 | I like the boss fight! The character designs are fun, and I really like the voice acted sound effects! Ha! Great work. |
| May 15 19:33:56 | 4m 55s | Be Queen | ♥ 0 | This was really cool! I love the hex-tiles, and the design of the hive is great! All the space inside the walls are very well decorated. It took a few tries to figure out what to do, though I get it now. Your stinger kills other bees, their stingers kill you. duh. Great job! |
| May 15 19:40:53 | 6m 57s | THIEFEUS: Rynth, Repeat | ♥ 1 | Great job! I never found the minotaur to be that menacing, even if I was caught I still had all the opportunities in the world to hide from him and continue along my way. I love the artwork, the character looks great! and the music and sound effects are top notch too! Really great job on the game. |
| May 15 20:05:11 | 24m 18s | Deep Breath | ♥ 1 | Wow! I love the artwork, both environment and the absolutely adorable character! The hands are just so eerie and creepy! I tried collecting all the... posters(?) as I could. or maybe they're pictures of cats. I'm not sure. In any case, I tried for quite a while, but was unable to get this one: ld_how.PNG Anyway, the game is amazing! The music a fantastic, and I know I already said it but it needs to be said again, the artwork is outstanding. I absolutely love the main character. Great job! ld_cool.PNG |
| May 15 20:16:44 | 11m 33s | Descent of Anubis | ♥ 2 | The biggest issue I've noticed is that pressing up / down moves the player left or right sometimes. It makes it a bit frustrating. Depth perception is a bit rough too. I really like the artwork though- the depiction of Anubis as a chibi anime-lookin' character is pretty great. Nice work! |
| May 15 20:22:36 | 5m 52s | Johnny Debt | ♥ 0 | I really like the idea, but I wish there was some sort of in-game tutorial to help the player figure it all out. In any case, this was a lot of fun! I love the character artwork for all the little people in game. Great work. |
| May 15 20:33:47 | 11m 11s | Fractal Finder | ♥ 0 | Wow, that's a very unique game! I love the idea. |
| May 15 20:45:00 | 11m 13s | Deeply Dazed | ♥ 1 | Quite a unique game! I definitely had a hard time figuring out how to make the correct moves though. Whenever I cleared a level it was entirely luck. |
| May 15 20:50:31 | 5m 31s | Dahla's Journey | ♥ 1 | I love the color palette! Are the enemies moving in a random direction, or does the AI try to hunt you down in any way? I noticed some levels were incredibly easy, even compared to levels before them. The music is pretty catchy though, great work on that! Nice game. |
| May 15 20:58:12 | 7m 41s | In Search of Paradise | ♥ 1 | The 3D models are well made. I especially like the final boss's look. Great work with the boss fight's variety in attacks! I played in HTML 5 and I didn't run into any of the lighting issues other people have mentioned. Great work! |
| May 17 16:14:01 | 43h 15m | Street Spark Racing | ♥ 1 | Ha! This was a lot of fun! The story and dialogue are fantastic, and the humor is brilliant. I love how the guy chops off parts of his car just to lower it even more! I love how I was also able to kick the other car, giving me quite the advantage, ha! Seriously great work. |
| May 17 16:40:22 | 26m 21s | Knee deep in jelly | ♥ 0 | I'm always impressed by PICO-8 entries! Great job with the graphics. The game feels a bit small, but it's a lot of fun. Nice work. |
| May 17 16:56:57 | 16m 35s | 👻 Dimansion 👻 | ♥ 0 | I love the idea! Very original. I wish the game over screen displayed your level / score! Great work on the music too. Nice game. |
| May 17 17:22:21 | 25m 24s | Treasure Hunt | ♥ 0 | I like how you have to dive for the treasure. It adds another layer on top of the minesweeper esque gameplay. Nice work! |
| May 17 17:28:58 | 6m 37s | Badger Break-In | ♥ 1 | I love the character design. The animations are very nicely made too! Great work! LD_Nice.PNG |
| May 17 17:39:08 | 10m 10s | Bean Guy: Underground | ♥ 0 | The character design is pretty great. I love how goofy it looks on the title screen! The dialogue was pretty funny, and I love the bit about the skeleton key obviously not working on a car. Great job! |
