This was cool ! The sound effects were a little wild, but the gameplay was very classic. I could see there being a chain mechanic for a point multiplier. Good work!

indigowolf 2021-04-26 13:26

Fun and polished game. Nice work.

xmatos 2021-04-26 13:49

You made me download the project file so that I could play it with a bigger screen xD. This was very fun to play, it's harder than it looks. The real time aspect of the game makes it feel more frantic and more exciting. I would've think that the option to move up would make this kind of game too easy, I'm very surprised that this works very well, and it made it feel like something I haven't played before. I got 11350 high score so far. Great job, good luck.

famicon80 2021-04-26 14:05

@xmatos I'm so sorry you had to download the project files,:scream: I thought I allowed resizing of the window.

Thank you for the kind words, and glad you enjoyed it! My hi-score is around 30k, you can rack up lots of points early with bombs to get big gold/gem chains.

hestrateja 2021-04-26 15:30

@famicon80 best digging game I've played so far! It's the little details that make it fun, like the moving obstacles, the TNT being careful with the troglodite spawns, the combo system... The only thing a bit confusing was the save button, don't know what that does, it only saves the score for the next run? is it a panic button?

lisyarus 2021-04-26 15:49

Nice game with classical mechanics! Liked how the robot can hold on to cliffs and how jumping is implemented. Good job!

famicon80 2021-04-26 16:04

@hestrateja thanks for playing and glad you enjoyed it!! I spent a LOT of time playtesting to make it fun (probably more than programming )

As for the save button, it just deletes your save in case you want to start from scratch. I should have been more clear with the sign.

xmatos 2021-04-26 16:08

@famicon80 You're right, you can resize the windows, don't know how I missed it.

Love the concept, 5/5!

yourfather-milk 2021-04-27 06:12

pretty fun, and hard

xiahouheshuo 2021-04-27 06:48

So funny game,GJ!

venezia 2021-04-27 09:17

Fun and difficult! The rolling wheel things killed me a lot! I'd consider putting the retry button somewhere on the death screen. I forgot by the time I died the first time :) Good job!

junior-lima 2021-04-27 13:31

very fun man, i made 10000 :3

sodaro 2021-04-27 18:46

Fun, retro-style game! The rolling wheels were a pain in the beginning but I eventually learned how to deal with them :) My last run ended with me being chased by three monkeys and avoiding two wheels just to walk into a rat-thingy

moski 2021-04-27 18:54

This is outstanding. Truly outstanding.

After playing games like Motherlode and Steam World Dig, I've been a sucker for games where you dig down and avoid obstacles. There seem to be a lot of those in this jam, but this one in particular just feels good. It feels like it breathes. It starts at a decent pace, but as one goes deeper, it feels like any entity can start a chain reaction that can lead to one's demise if they're not careful.

The wheels are an absolute menace, the moles are chaotic evil, and those random... things that follow you around, oh, those are scary.

This is just nuts. Incredible, even. Simple to understand, yet very exciting when everything is in motion. This might be my favorite game of this jam so far! Excellent! I'll be playing a few more rounds of it when I'm done today! :whale:

famicon80 2021-04-27 19:05

@moski thank you so much, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I wish I used my time better to implement more agents of chaos and MUSIC, but I'm sort of okay with the end result. (minus the lack of music )

ismael-rodriguez 2021-04-27 20:58

This game has some surprisingly deep mechanics and techniques. I like how you can dig yourself into sticky situations if you go too fast, you need to slow down and try to think your way through. Like underground chess. I could see this having a "puzzle mode" with some designed situations. Each of the elements come together nicely. I'm not very good at it, but you've made a good game! Good job!

lesinvisible 2021-04-29 17:10

Very competent little game, I liked overall retro feel and quite hard gameplay.

glaikunt 2021-04-30 20:29

Great work. Feels proper arcadie. Could have used a scale on the resolution. Fun little gameplay elements and really pollished.

guimm12 2021-05-01 20:33

I like this, there are a lot more inter-winding mechanics than I initially thought, gotta love the chaos created by those interactions. The game feels very polished too, great job!

bigtvz 2021-05-02 16:21

a classic digging game. easy to play but hard to master. the rolling stones get me every time. had fun though.

100th-coin 2021-05-02 16:53

A very charming high-score game! It's definitely one of those games that needs no introduction, you can figure out what's going to kill you and how to avoid it, it's only a matter of execution. Great work, it's a lot of fun!

pincushion 2021-05-02 22:59

This is a good challenge. Really good mix of deadlies. So many ways to die. It was very challenging for me, but I still was able to play well into the caveman area. The falling/moving blocks added so much too. I like how gems were freed when falling from enough height. It was always fun to see the monsters get squished.

minibetrayal 2021-05-03 05:24

Turns out, I'm not very good at this. Reminds me of some old arcade games (think Dig Dug), and enjoyed what I could play before my terrible skill caught up with me. ++

javasaurus 2021-05-05 21:28

Great dig dug clone. Really like it, even the look and feel match up nicely ! Thanks for making it !

fueelin 2021-05-05 21:28

Cool game, pretty tough! I don't fully understand why there are donuts underground, but I DEFINITELY understand that I should be scared of them! :D I liked the art a lot, and the sounds were simple but effective. Everything felt nice and polished, though maybe some minor difficulty tweaks could improve it.

Really good job!
