I had a lot of fun with this! When you die, It says "Nice try" which led to me assuming there's a win condition. after a second run, I think it's just endless. In any case, here's the best run I had. zld_deep.PNG

@100th-coin Yeah, well all the tries are nice actually :D There is a 2 minute time limit so there is no winning condition, same as there is no escaping one's consciousness. However, that's where the metaphore ends, you actually cannot face the heroe's problems in the game :) Thanks for the feedback.

I did 750m, the sfx are nice, the game works well. When you get hit, maybe the climb is a bit long?

@nyanpierre Thanks for the feedback. The climb may feel a little long in the singleplayer but it was optimized for the two-player mode where it can really help you and it feels pretty good to see the other player's "spirit" fly past you in the opposite direction :smile:

falling deep is really satisfying, also that screenshake while landing really added to the game feel

The art and sound effects were awesome well done! I really enjoyed how you were enticed to risk it but if you died you were thrown way back up and lost time. Fun mechanic. Definitely a deep game... too deep... This was my high score before my thoughts caught meGraveFallersHS.png.

Great game ! I thought I was really bad at this, yet I am suprised to have the highest score in the comments so far :smile: Took me 3 attempts to be honnest...

The gameplay is quite simple but very well implemented, and it seems polished! I didn't understand that i had health points at first so I wondered why I didn't get punished for being hit the first time. I guess it's the kind of game in which you understand so well what you have to do, that don't take time to look around the screen. Anyway I think having "lives" is a good idea, and can actually be a good strategy to try and get a few ones before going free fall, not caring to much for hits!

The visuals are well made and very clear, using colors to get the attention of the player where it's needed. Good job on that.

The music is really cool ! It is nice to hear something else than electro for a fast-paced game once in a while. And the idea of having the volume depend on the timer is a nice touch! I think you had a good time making sound effects, they were both cute and funny x)

Nice job! I was a fan of the audio a lot. It sounded like you made the guitar yourself? Loved that touch. This game felt very personal and emotional. Very clean entry.

@kaleido Yes indeed, I recorded the guitar myself. I was just going for something that would increase in intensity and would end exactly as the run ends so the player would have some sense of time and urgency even without looking at the in-game timer. This was a second take of something that came to mind and I felt like not over-complicating it so went with it (it was just a few hours before the submission anyway) :)

The sounds were funny and the game was also enjoyable. I reached 822 meters on my first try. I also liked that dying just threw you back a little bit and didn't force you to start from the beginning. Good job!

Fast paced! I like it! Though the graphics are overall good, I do wish there was animations (of course, this being a Compo game I can see why that can be a tall order :P). I like the hillarious sound effects and the fact that music intensifies throught the game. Much fun! :)

I've reached 900m! You've made a good work, I liked the game and music. I also enjoyed the music and the idea - the deeper you get - the louder is the music (it makes tension to rise). The only thing - maybe to add some animation. Thank you for your interesting idea!

Very nice!! The 'thump' sound effect when landing after falling a while was a nice touch. I like how the projectile shooters mean players can't just hug the wall as a strategy.
