I really enjoy this one! The hex-tile Minesweeper Spleef idea is a lot of fun, though I'm quite terrible at Minesweeper. I enjoyed the game a whole lot! I didn't even notice the first few times I played because I was mostly looking at the tiles, but the character is super well made! You should know that the game will softlock if you just walk off the edge of the map though! I guess there's still the pause menu, so it's not too bad. LD_m.PNG

Really fun, got me on my toes trying not to step on a bomb! Congratz on the submission!
This game is fun and the graphics are amazing 5/5! only problem I had was sometime when falling down a level it would land me straight on the bomb and I would keep falling again which felt a little unfair from a player perspective but other than that I had a really fun time :D

@100th-Coin, keep that score growing! Yes, we know about some bugs, but we hadn't enough time to fix them on time. I'm so glad you enjoy our game, thank you very much.

I'm terrible at minesweeper so naturally I'm terrible at this game but it's still very fun!

Great idea & the graphics... so nice ! Congrats ! Hope you'll continue this project after the jam: bigger maps, infinite level with time limit ? It could be fun (it is already fun !)
Quite a simple and interesting game. Music sounds fun. As a person who is not very good at playing the original game, I was able to score 104 points! In another attempt, I was so unlucky that right after spawning I fell through three times (. And one more time I got stuck between the tiles and couldn't get out. Overall very cool!
Very nice! As someone who made a hexagonal minesweeper for a LDJAM once, and then released it ("Planet Minesweeper") I appreciate the gameplay. It's interesting twist with the decoy numbers and trying to solve the puzzle and keep moving at the same time. I found it very hard to do both at once but that made it fun too. Very nice music and I loved the dissolve effect on the tiles. Great job!
Super fun, neat take on minesweeper mechanics
Nice job! Like others have said, it's a fun twist on the minesweeper idea to be running around in there. Im not good at minesweeper so it's needless to say that I wasnt very good at this with the need to act quickly haha but the frantic pace made it fun.

@joel-davis I'd like to see your "Planet Minesweeper", I couldn't find it on your user page :(
@arget It was on the old site before the rewrite. https://www.tapnik.com/planet-minesweeper/index.html is the released version, msg me on twitter (@joeld42) if you want a promo code for it.

interesting idea, though I found the methodical nature of minesweeper conflicted a bit with the ground constantly falling out from under my feet. maybe if it was a little slower? interesting idea, though i quickly just settled into a strategy of "just avoid all numbers as much as possible and get to the target asap"
Very fun take on minesweeper, i loved the hexagon tiles, the spleef element, the way scoring works, very very well made, i was just not very fond of the bombs disguising themselves as numbers, i think if you only revealed the tiles you stepped on and not the adjacent ones, but no numbers could be bombs, i think that would make me enjoy this a tiny bit more, nevertheless, it was a very well made, it's beautiful and works very well, great job!

So that is how minesweeper works, I never learned it :eyes: Very nice and polished game, tutorial and everything. I was really shocked when I fell through, enjoyed the surprise and the sound the tiles made when they cracked. Exciting.
Well done!
I didn't do great but I had fun :)

i really enjoyed the game, maybe a little too fast for let the player think. Really good transition, Excplication ...

The concept is original and interesting, but the timer is too harsh to noobs like me. May I suggest you to add an option to turn it off as a difficulty level adjustment? The game itself deserves the players attention. If you make the learning curve flatter, everyone would benefit from this.

A cool twist on minesweeper. By adding a "timer" though you make a game that only caters towards the players that already know how to play the game. Making the timer optional or a "bonus" would be nice going forward.

So I found a bug the first time I played. I fell off the side of the tiles and just kept falling until there were not more tiles. I could still walk around which was a little strange.
Once I reset the game I could play like normal and got a high score of 54. I kept walking around on my level after getting the star, which I'm not sure if was supposed to do.
I liked the tutorial. The tiles were explained and I felt going in that I had information that was helpful. What confused me a little bit was whether I should be walking on the tiles I think are a bomb or not. In one instance I was trying to get my barings and the tiles I had arrived in just happened to be bombs. I wish I would have started on a neutral or safe spot so I could look around without having to immediately react.
I didn't see a health bar while playing so I didn't quite know when I was injured until the end screen displayed saying I failed. I am not sure if I missed it or if it is a feature that should be added. (Its so hard to prioritize what makes the LD cut when creating a game on such a short time frame).
I do hope you continue working on it. It has alot of potential to be a professionally released game.
Thank you for sharing it with us!

Great idea, the graphics look awesome and the gameplay is fun, especially because I like minesweeper  , but I keep getting stuck between tiles and cant move(this happens when I get between 3 tiles). And sometimes I fall through the map.
Overall a good game, good job.

I like that this game is a modification of minesweeper, but I can't help but feel it leaves too much to chance to be fun rather than frustrating. A lot of people are saying that they're bad at minesweeper, but I think the issue is that no matter what you see on the ground, there's almost never enough information and the best you can do is make an educated guess with the limited time you have. While guessing is not inherently a bad thing, getting to the star tile safely is ultimately a game of chance with a pretty high rate of failure. Since getting to the star is the only way to score, getting a high score is heavily dependent on luck.
Many people are suggesting that increasing the time before a platform gives way would make it more fair. Technically, you can bypass that timer by pausing. Despite having that knowledge, the problem of luck does not go away; you can play smart and still gain very few points.
I think this kind of gameplay is frustrating because the game doesn't always reward you for good decisions and punishes you too much for guessing wrong. It would make for a better puzzle game if the player was able to make concrete deductions before going forward.
This game is otherwise pretty well made! I particularly like how this game looks and sounds.

@saoi-games Hi! Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, we didn't had the time to make the detection of the player falling outside of the platforms... If you step on a bomb you lose a live, so please don't harm yourself (or your digital self) and don't walk over the tiles you suspect are bombs. And in the right-top corner is displayed the number of remaining lives you have.

@rashcan hmmm yeah, sometimes it is better to jump to the platform below than to try to obtain points on a platform where your position isn't safe or where the risks are too high. Take in consideration that while removing tiles you also lose information, so sometimes the risk is even bigger than what the information you are currently seeing tells you.

@vederant you can always jump to the next platform if you don't see a clear path in the current platform!!

Fresh and interesting twist on the mindsweeper game! You should take it further than just the Jam!

:D
Clever way of putting minesweeper in a platformer that makes you think on your feet! Was really enjoyable at first.
After a bit I realized that you can step on any cell next to a cell with no number, which sort of trivialized it for the most part unfortunately :/
But I really liked the game when I was trying to make quick deductions and move around the map at the same time. It's not something I've seen anything like before. :)
