Nice job ! the game is pretty fun, the shooting mechanic works well, the atmosphere is creepy, and the concept itsefl with the lights is nice too :) imo, only 3 minor setbacks :

-even when shooting carefully, you eventually run dry on snowballs it could be fun to have levels and some way to replenish your snowballs to complete them ( though i think you might went for a how long can you last approach )

-adding a crosshair instead of just having the mouse cursor could be cool

-adding a scoring display

other than that good job overall ^_^

it has the potential to turn into a cool game, all you need now is a character sprite to replace the block of blue and a bit of sound and music :) but yeah 48 hours is relatively short,

This is some serious fun :) the gameplay is pretty solid, there is also quite a nice enemy variety :

the humour is pretty awesome, but i wouldn't spoil any of the dialogue, cool 48hours entry and +1 for the snowman's round :D

noted guys :) some of the issues have been fixed some are still being looked at, unfortunately some could only be fixed post ludum (at least we think so cause they could be considered as gameplay changes :s ?)

anyway we'll still update any time we can, the randomness of the goal for instance, is more of a bug we didn't expect than an actual mechanic that was supposed to playout this way.

We went a bit wild on the silly backstory just for the fun of it, then again bear in mind, this is only our second entry, and first one to make the deadline though we'll try to get a more polished overall concept / game mechanics in our future projects.

Thanks again for your honest feedback guys, MrMordem, Ostrich_Sigma, and I, will keep an eye on for more bughunting, i'll try to get the changelog from the devs to see what's been patched up so far and edit the description if MrMordem doesn't have the time to(coding and stuff... :p)

Once again noted guys and thank you for the feedback :)

MrMordem and Ostrich_Sigma are still at it when they got some time, they are currently working on fixing the game's "ending" as it is unwinnable in it's current state.

Though the ending screen we had planned can not be used for the moment (not sure if adding it would be considered a new feature) so we might just have a "the end" text during ludum

@Empyrealhell : As you know, the droprate / pacing issues could not be fixed right now, but we will address those eventually, Sigma is still working on the sound as even himself found out it was a bit too loud. The fun thing about the hats is, that having them as powerups to change your attack is what was innitially planned, we didn't implement it yet because of time constraints (we had quite some dev issues while making it thus many features missing right now)

@Erhune : Haha ! it's true, hats can make any game awesome, though we're clearly not at a TeamFortress level of awesomeness :p

@Demy : Yup, and these issues will be looked at post ludum, fun comparison though :p

@Linear : We kinda chose snowmen because of some joke we had during themevoting, one round was all about kitten hype, another about snowmen hype, so we kinda went "ok if either of these is the theme it's gonna be Snowmen vs Kittens for us" eventually the theme arrived and we kept this concept cause we thought we could make something humorous out of it. Innovation wise, we never claimed it would be, that's why we didn't tick this criteria for judging :)

Really like the look and mood of the game,the graphics and music are top notch, to me there are just 3 minor setbacks :

-the character sprite can be hard to find when you first start the game

-the jumping mechanics are still a little bit touchy

-for some reason i had trouble interacting with the usable objects in the environement

Thanks for your feedback and the helpful advice with Unity @cyberstarlight glad you like what we managed to make despite the (many) flaws :p

This LD was kinda rough compared to some other entries we made in the past but still nice to see people apreciate our efforts ^^

As said in the description of the entry its was our first time using Unity during an LD thus the many weird physics etc... apparently we had some problems with how unity handled "stacking" physics related objects so Ogma spend more of the time trying to solve these issues so we could keep our main gameplay gimmick and not go just simple platformer (hopefully your link could help learn a bit about this)

The ceiling stuff is kind of an issue because of missing mechanics that couldn't be implemented due to time constraints the ennemies and attack do nothing at the moment for the same reason even though there should be the animation playing (twice for some reason XD)

We're always quite invested in what we do, cause we would really like to make some cool games we feel we would also like to play, so quality is important (even if well... at the moment we try our best :p)

Just tested it fresh after seeing it on stream, it's simple but fun

**Positive things :** - A nice take on the theme - The interface is clear and easy to understand eventhough there are quite a lot possible actions - Don't know if it was intentionnal (if not no offense it's funny in a good way !) but the "i'm done" after completing an action cracks me up every time :) - Dat catchy tune that will stick O_o but quite honestly it's a good loop and i like that it changes when you're in "danger"

**Negative things :** - maybe a bit repetitive - too bad that it's just some text menus, although i guess this help not to clutter the interface and finding actions easily ^^

So overall well done :)

**Positive stuff :** - Solid mechanics with a good tutorial element to learn them - Nice graphics and beautiful lighting ( only tiny thing would be to add little things to give the game a bit more visual personality i.m.o but otherwise it looks great) - Very chill mood that fit these type of games quite well - Nice difficulty progression and balance on this LD build

**Negative stuff :** - Had a bit of slowdown (albeit not a drastic fps drop either) so it could use a little bit of optimisation

Really not that much in terms of negatives, I quite enjoyed this game and it has potential

Quite a nice entry i gotta say, and that intro was really funny "we are going to build a sphere..." hmm that sounds familiar ? :p

**Positive things** - The controls were sharp and responsive and i like that you guys went for the modern WASD take on"asteroids" type controls - The graphics were really good, i dig the pixel art, and the little intro was really a plus - The music was cool and fitted the game well

**Negative things :** - My only gripe is that i experienced some serious slowdowns in some areas (WebGL version) whenever there was smoke or a large number of sprites on screens

Other than that, that's quite a solid entry and it was fun to try out ^^

**Positive stuff :** - The Graphics looked good (shame you didn't want any rating ) - The simple controls felt intuitive - The energy recharge mechanic instead of a finite amount

**Negative stuff :** - The lack of music (it would improve the mood to have at least some in the background)

Quite solid, i really dig the "old computer game" vibe this one has the space physics where you have to take into account trajectory when aiming was a nice touch as well as independant controls for left and right turrets

**Positive stuff :** - The graphics are really beautiful - The soundtrack was good and really fitted the spacey mood - The ship's controls that are very original

**Negative stuff :** - The repair interface, while i really like the idea, i felt it was quite a handful to manage all this when surrounded by ennemies - The difficulty is a bit too high, this mostly ties with what i said previously :/

Quite frankly this is a very solid entry otherwise, especially for something done solo, it's a nice take on the theme, and the ships controls really felt tight

- More of a preference but not the biggest fan of QTE either :/

Badass and impressive shooter, simply amazing !

**Positive things :** - The graphics are top notch, i especially like your artstyle and the genesis like palette you chose :) - The music, sound effects, and overall sound design, was pretty cool i.m.o. And again i like the fact you went for that genesis sound ^^ - The overall gameplay and gamefeel - The customisable controls which is always a plus in any game - The weapons, really liked em, and there's a pretty good selection too - The little details, like the fact that the bosses slowly run out of power as well

**Negative things :** - A little lack of feedback on the bosses when they take damage (eventhough there's the hp meter, a bit off feedback on the sprite itself wouldn't hurt i.m.o.)

I think that's all there is to say really. How did you manage to make such an awesome game in 72 hours O_o ? Always amazing

Anyway you get : the 16bit Badassery award, for making a really kickass game :p

Fun and overall solid experience, i really dig this game !

**Positive stuff :** - The Graphics in general, great spritework and art direction - The Music, the industrial like theme sounded great, it really had a kind of Quake 1 vibe to it - The tight and fast paced gameplay

**Negative stuff :** - The small ammo pickups spawning in the map are a bit hard to see, at first i didn't even know you had ammo spawning outside of buying it at the shop (maybe having a bigger sprite or outlining it more to help it stand out) - Too bad you didn't have the time to implement the full on shop you planned :(

Honestly the issues are really not that much, it was easy to pickup and play, and challenging just enough to battle these enemies and managing the energy bar

Overall great job guys i had a blast fighting off cyberdemons :D !

- The powerups were a bit hard to get, maybe increasing their hitbox a bit would help so that you don't loos the benefits of the ship's small hitbox ?

Overall it was really cool, too bad it didn't have any music though, regardless it was fun to play, well done ! :)

Very impressive entry that has great atmosphere, a nice take on the strategy genre, and the artic setting really goes like bread and butter with the power theme

**Positive stuff :** - The graphics look amazing, every little sprite is full of detail - The soundtrack is really cool and really installs the strong survival mood of the game - The overall concept is really nice and the setting is quite original - The quick restart button

**Negative stuff :** - Even tough the interface is quite clear, a bit of tutorial would help to learn the mechanics of the game

Not much else to say really, this could totally be a full retail game with some missions, and maybe have the rng based maps as a bonus endless mode for replayability

Other than that, solid overall experience.

First things first, thank you all guys for the feedback, quite a nice surprise to see this many people tested out our entry, really appreciate it :)

As some troopers said in that one movie : "I'm doing my part ! " and really glad to see you guys liked the whole team's effort ^^

**Regarding the various issues :**

We'll try to iron things out controls wise (we were short on time at the upload, so the devs just put the 1st control scheme they had in mind so we don't miss the deadline)

It can always be tweaked a bit but, the "floatiness" of the jump was made as is to get the "space" feel of a low gravity environement

We always try our best to put out the most polished game during LD so your comments mean a lot really :D so keep em coming to help us improve our games !

@jaakko : Thanks, we had a 3rd level that almost made it to the LD build but unfortunately 72 hours go by way quicker than we thought ^^' we also had a more colorful sprite for the player closer to the artwork but this also didn't make it due to time constraints, anyway glad you liked our game mate :D

to answer about the unclear mechanics : Yep you can shoot the security bots, they just respawn really fast (at least at the moment), and you have to be near a generator to fix it with the "F" key, you don't have to be right next to it there's a little bit of a range within you can still interract though ^^

Don't feel bad about the cleaner or repair bots though, they've gone rogue and overrrun the ship :o

XD Thanks a lot, DOS-era games are total classics for the team, so they might have indeed influenced our game a bit :p

regarding level design, i know the devs are cooking a small update (don't know when it will be available yet) with some fixes such as the return to title problem, but i think Gorka wanted to try and add in a 3rd level if he gets the time of course ^^

Thanks glad you've enjoyed :) the sped up generator fix is supposed to happen after killing multiple repair bots (the yellow ones) if you had this under other conditions that's a glitch though. Didn't know about the searchbar thing on the web version so good to know so we can hopefully fix it, i'll check out with the devs if they might know why this can happen, ogma is supposed to put out an update later today so maybe he can catch and squash it, we know the game is a bit easy at the moment and it is planned to tweak this, but i think ogma and mordem are gonna iron out the remaining bugs before anything is changed there.

Thanks man really appreciate it ^^ the controls were put during the last rush before submission so yeah they're kind of random basic default keys at the moment, hopefully in some updates they're gonna be tweaked a bit, not sure if they can be made customizable without some major changes (the devs certainly know this better than me :p) if it can that's probably what's gonna be done.

The shock gun was kind of a change we put in mid JAM to have a weapon that would fit the theme more as well as hit the smaller bots that a foward shot couldn't XD

We'll surely make this one into a full game, but not after we already finish our other post LD projects that are still cooking here and there. Hopefully there should be an update coming later today so thats that :p untill we make a more complete post LD edition :)

Thanks dude :) we didn't have that much time to add in the details like the player feedback, we tried a bit of knock back in an internal update but that didn't turn out as we thought so it's not gonna change untill we find a better effect.

We added particles to the repair in the 0.3, but we plan to maybe add a bit of sparks on the claw as well to make it more obvious, then again like you said 72 hours go by so quickly so we're happy we managed to at least get something playable with more than just scoring this LD :p

Yeah no problem :) we're trying to improve the game whenever we can, there should be a 0.4 sometime around when ogma figures out how to implement some of the planned changes (so i can't really tell when since it can take some time)

We try and do this for every LD entry we can, although many of them will eventually become full games, we have to pause some's developpement to focus on others whenever we find neet ideas to expand upon. So any unupdated game we have isn't dead, it kinda serves as a base we can build upon, and LD themes inspired us some really fun IPs so far and we're gonna use them :p

**What's good :** - The concept itself is really good, i like how this kinda mixes strategy with direct control over your character - The music is good and fits the mood really well, even though you're on a time it helps not to get stressed out ^^ - The mood really has something, can't really say why but it clicks :)

**What's bad :** - More of a nitpick but even though the assets all look great and well modeled, the ship doesn't seem to fit with the rest (different style) but as i said that's a small detail

- Kind of confusing at first, a bit of tutorial text about the resources, and how wires work could help solve this

Possible glitch i found with the **WebGL** version : clicking the play again button didn't seem to work

Real nice take on the theme, and i really liked the idea of an adventure with multiple gameplay phases however it has a few flaws

**Positive stuff :** - The multiple gameplays as i said, they really mixed things up in a good way - The theme of the game, really clever mix of ancient mythology and sci fi which reminded me of an old childhood favorite of mine Ulysses 31 (i guess that was your inspiration ^^ so +1 )+ making homer an AI that writes the story when you're game over :p - The very "space like" mood of the 1st music - The humour was really nice as well XD

**Negative stuff :** - The game window may be a bit too tall, i see what you did putting it this way to get the vertical shooter feel (which i liked) but i had it a bit cropped at the bottom, maybe have it so that you can resize it manually to fit the screen ? - The planets hitboxes on the map, i had to click around a bit upon reaching a planet untill the game registered it and took me to the riddle phase - Tiny detail but on the shooter phase i could see a cut in the starfield background and where it repeats

I think that's about it, really the negatives are not that much, so it's a neat experience, your mythology meets sci fi theme really took me back as i said :)

i'll give you a silly award as well : You get the 31st century award for classical heroes :p

Great concept with a good presentation, has a bit of issues though

**Positive stuff :** - The graphics were really good, i liked the style and overall mood of the game, i felt like it had a mix of shadow of the beast meets soul reaver with a more pixel style ^^ - The music, it fitted the mood of the game for that dark atmosphere - The little details like the minimalistic UI on top of your head, the soulsword, the walljumping, even the sound effects

**Negative stuff :** - The wall jumping mechanic, while a great idea, felt a bit clunky, jumping a bit too near a wall has an instant use of the wall jump - The camera was a bit too zoomed in and didn't help getting a good view of your surroundings - Some graphical glitches on the web version, i had these sort of lines that popped up ever so slightly

All in all, i'd say that's a solid concept otherwise, it just needs a bit of polish on some aspects, quite a good mood and presentation going on with this one

despite its small issues its a good game, well done dude :)

Really fun game, with a Rockin soundtrack :metal: and those blades on the map, kind of a hotline miami meets killing floor meets ravenholm from half life 2 :p

**Positive stuff :** - The graphics were pretty good, and i digged the small touches such as the weapon on the HUD with the actual shells for the ammo count instead of a number, and the glowing red eyes of the zombies to help still have a fighting chance once your flashlight battery runs out - The music simply rocked, it has that nice beefy Genesis metal sound wich i personally like a lot :) - The smooth gameplay tight controls and precision mouse aiming

**Negative stuff :** - More of a nitpick on a small detail, have the option tu run it windowed - No melee option when running out of ammo, while not really troublesome, having one could be fun while searching for ammo and not be defenseless

So not that much negatives i.m.o, a real solid entry that i had quite some fun with

- The graphics while simple were well modeled and everything felt cohesive together - The WASD + E + Spacebar controls made for some smooth and tight gameplay - The voiceacting was hillarious - The mere absurd situation to creep around just to turn off some lights and tvs was hillarious (so double points for humour ^^) - DAT FACE ON THE TITLE SCREEN O_o

**Negative stuff :**

- Not that many opportunities to flee and hide once a cat sees you which makes the infiltration a bit hard - Maybe not necessery to have the key spawn at a random place rather than a fixed one - DAT FACE ON THE TITLE SCREEN O_o

Overall it’s quite an awesome little game despite its flaws, i had serious fun with this :) And again DAT FACE ON THE TITLE SCREEN O_o (ok ok enough with that joke :p)

**Positive stuff :** - The graphics, i digged the main character's design, and the little cutscenes were a cool touch, i also liked the katana trail effects :) - The music was nice - The choice of a story mode and a survival mode with multiple maps - The main gameplay is fun

**Negative stuff :** - The controls need a bit more work i.m.o - A bit heavy on the effects, while the trails looked nice, i personally thought the blur was sometimes a bit much - Has a few glitches here and there, when dezooming the camera with the mousewheel the camera went insane when i scrolled a bit too far, and when testing survival mode i had an enemy stuck into a wall on the castle map

Honestly though, for a first LD it's a pretty good game with a solid concept, just needs a bit of added polish

**Negative stuff :** - The checkpoints were a bit far in some places, having more would help with the challenging level design without sacrificing too much on the difficulty - Bit more of a nitpick, but i didn't really feel the "losing power" theme in the game, but honestly it's not that important i.m.o

I didn't have any issues with the game however i had some with 1 small technical detail, it would have been great to be able to play the game in a window.

But other than that it's a neat game and it was fun stacking those hats up, so well done ^^

Interesting take on the beat em up genre, the graphics were really top notch and the music was nice also, this entry feels really polished overall, i also liked the humour "punshing another idol is strictly unprofessional" because punshing the fans untill they convert obviously isn't hehe :p

Eventhough the controls felt solid, i think the difficulty is a bit unbalanced, fans you convert seem to be converted back almost right away, so it's hard to have them do enough damage to your rival unless you convert large groups with the saxophone move.

but quite frankly other than that it was a good experience and i really enjoyed it.

i had no particular issues while testing this game so i don't know what to add more,

@meneer-gus Funny thing is that we didn't even think splatoon as an inspiration but i guess it has some similarities XD don't worry about yourplaystyle though, you get more points if you hoard more soup so it's ok thanks for ginig our game a shot !

@kernel-panic As always during LD we did the best we could on all aspects, glad you liked the presentation though ^^ the pickup key is in fact there just for the 1st fish you take, it sort of activates the "alert mode" for the spawning cats on the level, once you picked up your first, you don't need to press it everytime the AI was supposed to be a bit more complex but we just had to simplify it for time's sake, but we'll try to improve it. @fluffi Thanks glad you liked em :) we wanted to have some sort of tutorial but didn't have time tu put it in game, so we put most of the instructions on the entry page itself.

@shito Haha yeah if you come for cats the game surely doesn't dissapoint on that aspect XD

The top down perspective is indeed a bit weird for the sprites, but by the time i made the full animation and seen it in engine it was a bit too late to start over, better luck next time i guess :p really glad you liked the artstyle anyway ^^

I can't speak for @drafura but glad to see you liked his music :)

Enemies are indeed a bit slow, we didn't have that much time to balance out difficulty, and we first wanted to have some enemy variety, some of them even had their sprites ready but couldn't be implemented to meet the deadline :( but we had some in store, we had sort of these different cat gangs who had special enemies pop up from time to time, like a ninja cat that could turn himself invisible, but hey game jams XD With that said the cats hiding inside props and the exclamation mark when you're spotted are totally nods to MGS ^^ we just made them go "meow" because you know... they're cats :p

@cliff-lee-cl Thanks man ! The funny thing is the drifting cats were sort of a glitch at first but the devs decided it could be fun to tweak it a bit and leave it there to get that impression that the enemies would skid around in sharp turns the player was also supposed to but this wasn't kept because it affected gameplay too much :p

@josscomposer Thanks dude, we did our best so it's always nice to see poeple like it ^^ the sfx were put almost at the end during crunchtime so that could explain why, there's also "meow" samples here and there in the music itself XD En tout cas encore merci, ça fait toujours plaisir de voir d'autres Français dans la communauté LD :)

@flaterectomy Well we more or less got inspired by GTA2 and older Metal Gear gameplay wise so yeah the circle is pretty much that so you get spotted easyier when you have more fish, it was initially supposed to reset every time you got back to the kitchen but we didn't had the time to implement that :(

Always nice to see people apreciate the art (despite the huge flaws like the perspective which was rightfully pointed out, but hey my fault i'll try doing better :p) i also tend to agree that there are not that many colours, maily cause i think the sidewalks were implemented pretty late and we had to assemble what we had ^^' but hey gamejams ! :)

As i said for the music can't speak for the author but i'm sure he apreciates ^^

Fun little racer with quite some chaos going on, the more cars you put, the worse it definitively gets for the city :p

the graphics while simple were really good, everything feels cohesive together which is the most important, the camera was well handled in the fact that you don't get too disoriented as long as you dont flip everywhere after crashing randomly into some cars or building.

Quite frankly the physics are awesome and fun, the car sounds are hillarious, and the driving of the car felt right, not too heavy, not too drifty. As i said before this really made me think of the big car chase in the Blues Brothers movie for all the mayhem happening in the city :p, and speed wise it really feels a bit like an f zero title.

if you keep the sandbox mode, and add in a racing, chase, either delivery (akin to games like crazy taxy) or demolition derby mode, vary by having different colored cars, maybe different models (not necesserally complex ones keep this aestetic) also for the player car so people can choose, add in multiplayer, and you have quite a game you can build.

In this state it is still a very solid entry nontheless, especially considering this was done in compo.

I'd just say that i found the movement a slight bit too floaty for my taste but other than that it felt solid, i also really liked how customisable the difficulty is ^^ and i liked the "DarkSide" option with the red saber XD

When there's something strange coming after your player character... who you're gonna call ? well maybe this guy :p

The concept is nice, with good humour to boot ^^, there are some issues however.

There's a lack of feedback info when you shoot, it would be nice to have some effects maybe at least on the enemy planes to indicate they are hit, the speed may be a bit too high as avoiding mountains can be tricky when you have just a split second to do so.

Issues aside, i felt the core concept was indeed solid and with tweaks and polish could make some pretty fun game, and quite frankly the graphics are nice and cohesive for MS Paint ;)

so congrats mr best ms pain artist :p
