It isn't technically a rogue-like, but somehow this game made me wanting to create a rogue-like someday. Played the original build for a while:
Liked: - Music - Ability to visit rooms in different order - The idea of detaching parts like armor in RPG. Would be great to see parts not only used for shooting
Didn't like: - It's unclear when the door in the once-north room opens, several times it opened after eliminating the enemies in the room, but after a second it closed - Thought the big wing was for bumping the enemies with it, and the trick worked, but I lost all the lives - The life counter says 5, but I actually have 3 lives - The blur on particle effects looks out of style

There is a core of good game here, but it's pretty broken right now. :P I got stuck in the top room a number of times (similar issue to IgorsGames, where the door would open briefly and snap shut). I would lose the game when I still had two or more lives, and took damage at seemingly random times. Also, the fold function doesn't work with the controller (on either version) and stopped working mid-game with the keyboard. I like the concept, though, and it fits the theme nicely.

Good idea, but it could need some polish. It was a rather buggy (lives went to -2, died with 4 lives etc. and the doors didn't work sometimes). Maybe you should focus on a more simple mechanic next time and polish that (for example just one type of enemy with different textures for different difficulties)
I like the concept of the game & it plays alright but is buggy in a few places (not gonna list 'em other users already have!) Music was really good though, fitted the game well and the game fitted the theme well too. Having the ship actually build up as I collected parts was neat too, rather than just background stat improvements. Good job!
At beginning I was confused about the folding mechanic but got hang of it after reading readme. Managed to finish the game, for some reason though I was being sent back and forth on the southern door. Don't know what happened there. Overall nice game and I liked the old zelda style room changing :)
I liked the concept put it is a bit hard to play at the moment. First of all, it would have been better if we could see the entiry room instead of this zoomed in mode. Some of the doors where also odd, closing after only a second even if the enemies are destroyed. Also, the life counter isn't working correcty.
The is the basis for a good game, but it does need some work. Keep it up.

Good job! Interesting concept to a game.
This is a really cool idea and a really well done use of the theme. Had some enemies spawn on top of me a few times and seemed like some things killed me awfully quickly, but aside from that I had no other issues. The music was pretty awesome.

First off, I have to start with a thank you for streaming our game! However, I am here to comment on your game instead of mine, so let's get to it! First off, I have to say that this was a neat experience with a lot of good ideas ideas at it's core that, with just a little more refinement and fixing, could definitely make up an even better and interesting concept. The audio was a great touch and you can feel the overall game had a lot of effort put into it. However, it also goes without saying that it also got a few aspects where it felt a bit short.
For starts, the ship felt a little too heavy to control, even without the extra parts that make controlling it worse (as its expected from the theme). I felt it took quite the time to align the rotation perfectly with the cannons that we're attempting to hit me in order to hit them back, and most of the times I would just get blown up before I could even aim at them properly. If I was going to suggest an improvement, I'd say to have the folded ship rotate at instantaneous speed, whilst having the unfolded ship turn slowly depending on the number of parts you got. This would reward your reflexes at folding and unfolding, while punishing the player from trying to use all the power at their disposal.
One aspect that, for me, didn't sell the theme on the game as much as it could was exactly the piece removal mechanic on the main room. I understand why it was put there, and how else the game would be practically impossible, but it also felt like I was doing a cop-out from how the theme was supposed to be experienced, especially when I already had the folding mechanic. I think the theme's execution would have been flawless if you were forced to keep all the pieces with you, and having you think the best order as to collect them. Of course, enemy placement and spawning would also have to be tweaked to assure that the player wouldn't be hit no matter what they tried to do.
Then, there's the other small technical issues, but it seems like you already got those pinned down yourself.
I re-iterate that the game was a really nice and really sticking-to-the-theme idea and even with it's flaws, I still enjoyed it immensely, special that final section after you leave the roomed layout. [In behalf of our team](https://twitter.com/WhalesAndGames), I look forward to experiencing the game again post-jam with all the issues you have down fixed and once again, thank you for your feedback you gave on the stream in regards to our game! :whale:
:( Unity game with only a windows export
It's a neat concept. Like JorgeGameDev, I found the ship hard to control even in its folded state, and the tiny time window to escape into the next room quite punishing.

Very exciting concept that I can switch between folded and unfolded. I suggest to adjust the difficulty. Even unfolded it's still very hard to dodge bullets and the collision of ship is a bit big that it collides with a ship even far away from it. The north-door is tricky and that's really frustrating. Does it have an end? I thought I defeated the boss but nothing happened. Overall it's quite fun.

Cool concept, i like the idea of the upgradable ship and the fact that you can choose where to go to collect additional parts.
The controls could be improved a bit i.m.o. It felt a bit odd to control the ship i can't exactly pinpoint as to why :/
Appart from this, it's still good, the graphics were nice and retro, there is some enemy variety, and really liked the music, and the theme is well implemented as the more parts you add to the ship the worse it gets.
Good job dude :)

The concept seems really cool but I feel it lacks a bit in execution. It's disappointing how you need all the parts to progress. I think it would be interesting if they were mostly optional and the player needed to consider the costs and benefits of getting a new part. The parts could also have more distinct abilities. However, I do like how you can fold away your extra parts when you don't need them (it seems the hitbox doesn't always get smaller but I imagine this is a bug). The music is great and suits the tone. The sound effects aren't on the same level as the music but they work well. I didn't enjoy the graphics as much - the inconsistent pixel sizes don't look great.
Great music and transitions! The sound fx are ok, although the music really stands out here. Still, the game is interestingly designed, giving the player multiple options to explore the surrounding. Even though I encountered some issues and that top room killed me way more times than I should have allowed, this is a solid entry! Congratz!
