The game was fun, but there was a serious bug that I found. I found that if you get more than about 350 coins(I think that was the number), then collision stops working on a lot of things, especially bridges. This was a huge problem in the second level with the pits (the ones that if you fall into them, you have to restart the entire level). There was a big bridge across one of the pits, and I was holding about 400 coins when I stepped on the bridge. Well, I fell through the bridge and had the restart the level which sucked.
I liked tossing my coins around to be able to make the jumps, then collecting them again once I made a jump, and repeating the process. The game was pretty fun. Nice work!

Very good game, I liked that you can to an extent improve your speed shooting. Excellent graphics.
@flying-cat-of-the-pepes The bridges are ropes and if you're heavy, you will fall from it (I'll make that mechanic clear on the description), but we found out that if you touch the rope while on other platform, you'll fall too, which is not intended. Thank you for letting us know!

Nice game. The mechanics are really nice, you feel really heavy when carrying a lot.
Bugs fixed!
The graphics, animations and sounds are great. I did not find any bug. I think it would be best if you required a minimum amount of coins to finish the level. Leaving money is easier to win.

I liked the graphical style of the game, quite nice. Was simple and fun to play, good job!

Very cool! I couldn't tell what was a bug and what was because I was getting too heavy with the platforming collision (some visual indicators like bridges breaking or something would go a long way there) but the concept is very clean and VERY well executed. Great music, slick controls. Well done!

Fun! I like how solid the platforming was, reminds me of the good ol' days of flash games :D

A very ingenious game idea that fits perfectly to the theme. At first, I felt like the character is kinda slow and unresponsive. Then I understood the game concept. After understanding the mechanics it was fun. Quite at the end of the last level in the area with the gold bag, I realized that having more than 5 bags lets you fall through the gray steel beams. That was a bit too punishing imo. But on the other hand, it was a nice challenge to discard some bags to go the upper way. The shooting was too weak. Fewer bullets should kill. I have to say that the progression somewhat makes the game more boring to play because you are getting slower. But it still has some attraction because the interaction with the enemies gets harder and its like a puzzle to decide when to throw bags across a gap. With a bit better mechanics this game could be really nice. For example, throwing bags in a curve or upwards. Dropping mines... An overall very cool game with a nice idea and a quite polished appeal.
I like the way you have to choose between carrying more money, or being able to avoid enemies by jumping through the platforms. Fits the theme really well. Good job.

Our team's game has a almost identical mechanic (down to the bag on the character sprite filling up!), but we quickly realized that slowing down the character movement as well as reducing the jump height made the game very frustrating.
In this game, I had very little incentive to try to get coins and a lot of incentive not to. The game was not just harder with more coins (which is good: this game had excellent level design and enemy placement which changes how you play depending on how many coins you have), but it was also less fun. I suppose that's on-theme, though, so many points awarded for that!
After a bit I just tossed all my coins and ran to the exit, because there was no real gameplay reward for having more coins. I agree that a "minimum to complete" threshhold would be a good addition.
The game ran fantastically for me on Firefox.
Thanks for all the feedback guys! @Krextor If this game hits actual production, it'll be WASD controls with mouse aim to toss your coins everywhere you want. And Anonymous guy/gal, what a coincidence! We talked about the minimum threshold (@allanolivei pointed that out too), but we wanted to make it accessible so casual plays could see all the content (not everyone wants to put much of their time in a jam game) and the Rank system with coin score came up. But thank you, we will consider for sure!
Well made. A very great game. One of the best LD40 submissions. I love the music, graphics, and the game itself.

A simple, well executed game. My suggestion is related to the contrast of the colors, I think the windows of the buildings in the background could be darker, so the contrast of the player would be better. But congratulations on the game!

Very well done! Great graphics, excellent soundtrack (although, every time it restarted I thought I had done something bad!) and an amazing use of the theme! It is a very well rounded game and amazing to see what was done in a short time. The one quick fix I'd point out is the contrast between the numbers and the background (I could hardly see how many coins I had collected).
ps: Mandaram bem! Legal ver um jogo BR aqui :)
I loved this idea, its atmosphere, music and even the character remind me of the old sonic games, which is really cool. The addition of the coin bag toss mechanic was intelligent and went well with the rest of the gameplay. Fits perfectly in the theme by the way. ps: realmente mandaram mto bem com esse game, eu compraria esse ai na Steam com certeza! ;)
Love all the feedback guys! Really important to us <3 I just wanted to make something very clear though: the soundtrack is not original neither made in the 72h, that's why it's not available for rating. Check the credits to see where it comes from. But thank you very much for the kind words y'all! We are feeling very proud.
Thank you guys for all the feedback. We are very proud with this game!

This game is pretty fun! I love collecting coins, and while you're rewarded for it at the end, the game gets a lot more difficult... The music reminds me a bit of the old Sonic games, which I really enjoyed. Good job! Yeah, this game IS a lot like my game!

I liked the concept, once you figure everything out it's really fun to manage your bags of gold and plan where to toss them so you can pick them back up etc... it sort of mixes tiny puzzly bits with an action platformer and it works well.
I really liked the spritework in this one as well, and i dig the design of the player character, and even if the music is not something made for the jam i thought it fits the game quite well.
i had no particular issues while testing this game so i don't know what to add more,
it was a cool entry so congrats to you guys :)

I LOVED your game, it reminds me a lot sega genesis games ! I chose to include it in my jam review there : https://youtu.be/Z-H-WO1iqss?t=967 Congratulations ! and feel free to ask me for translation :)
Our team does a weekly indie gamedev podcast called Nice Games Club, and we just did a Let's Play episode where we played thirty-six (!!) Ludum Dare 40 games, including yours (which, as I mentioned in a previous comment, has a very similar mechanic to ours)!
