| Aug 1 03:33:25 | A Miner Inconvenience | ♥ 2 | Nice work for the compo here! A nice touch of humor too! The game's simple, but well executed in terms of planning, I do like the graphics like this and I feel it's pretty accessible too thanks to them! :) I do miss some sounds here and there, but overall I did like playing it! :D I always die by getting near lava, but not really "touching" it. Is the player's hitbox a bit bigger than him? Good Job! Cheers! :D | |
| Aug 1 18:59:19 | 15h 25m | Bear and Bee | ♥ 1 | Nice work, as always! And nice teamwork too! Simple and accessible, it's really fun and, even better, good for all ages! :D The graphics are really nice and fit really well with the sounds, creating a really good mood for playing the game! Also, the sounds are what really give the game its humorous side, which I found really pleasant! Having simple controls also made it possible to be accessible for desktop and mobile players, which is even more of a plus here! :D Good job! :) |
| Aug 2 17:19:57 | 22h 20m | daemon | ♥ 2 | The game's really nice, but quite challenging! :O It's quite easy to not get through the first floor of the game, specially when you get to the end of it, while getting that last soul to the right. Having more souls, or replacing a few traps could help a bit. The controls worked fine for me, but I think you could keep the drag time for wall jump a bit more. I don't know, I kinda like having a bit more time. :) The artwork is really nice! I did love all of it, but I thought that the main character was a "Donnie Darko"-like bunny (when I saw a screenshot :P). And you also set up a really nice mood in your game! Congrats! Cheers! :) |
| Aug 2 17:46:54 | 26m 57s | The Torches Are Burning Low | ♥ 1 | I did come, charmed by the visuals, which give of that bit of Wolfenstein-like claustrophobic map feeling, which is really nice, it really does help set the mood. Nice work with the 2D sprites and textures! :D Controls worked really great for me, but jump felt a bit floaty. Though, I do think that, because of the genre (and the pits), it fits quite nicely with it. The spikes and some dangers could have some bit of anticipation, though, when the light levels are a bit high. You often end up running and skewered like a shish kebab without notice, if you always run (or sometimes when you just turn around a corner). Overall, great entry and nice work there! :D Cheers! |
| Aug 2 18:00:35 | 13m 41s | Toast Up! | ♥ 2 | Dude, this is really well-polished! :O It also has a nice replay factor, thanks to the upgrading system, which is really nice! Great use of the theme too. It's challenging, but not in a way that makes you ragequit, which is awesome! :O The look and feel of this game is so charming, graphics and sound really do fit nicely together, and controls are really great too, besides being also really accessible! :D Great job at it! Cheers! :) |
| Aug 3 05:04:27 | 11h 03m | You Can't Handle the Tentacles | ♥ 2 | Dude, tabletop games for a game jam are really a challenging thing, because of LOTS of factors, and I totally understand that people, sometimes, might not get it. I find it, though, to be a really amazing feat to make a tabletop game, with the rules you laid out here! There's some really amazingly creative work behind these types of projects that I find fascinating. Although I didn't play it (no working printer here to print 😔) I read the rules and checked the full PDF and your 3D model of the tentacle monster and it's really an awesome work! So congrats in making it! Since it's a solitary game, as soon as I'm able to print it I'll try it! :O I can also see it totally as a strategy game for PC! Thinking for a bit, it's totally possible to build it even using HTML/JS, to make it accessible! :D If I have the time and possibility, I'd like to try and do that anytime in the future! :P Looks like it could bring the game to a bigger audience! :D Cheers and Good Luck! :) |
| Aug 3 05:33:13 | 28m 46s | The Leech | ♥ 1 | Dude, you got some really nice style for your game! Visually it is unique and that's really great! The black and white look feels great and really sets the dark mood for the game! Gameplay-wise, the pace felt a bit slow in terms of control, movement and all the fly/fall mechanic, but the overall experience for the game was great! The mechanics are challenging and it's really nice to "discover" how to fight bosses by losing to them until you find it out. I found it a bit too challenging though for the 1hp, but it fits the theme quite well, y'know? ;) I noticed that, after I ran out of hearts, the old trainer didn't appear for me with items, is that intentional? Or maybe I advanced to a point where no items were given? The dialogue, at first, felt a bit confusing too, because of having two boxes, but it didn't take long to understand it! What I advise, though, is to export it as an executable and not as an installer, as people might not like to run installers that often. It often happens with GameMaker entries and I almost did that once! :( But overall, great entry! :D Good Job there, sir! |
| Aug 3 05:46:17 | 13m 04s | Last Sunset | ♥ 2 | Nice work! I like these twin-stick/bullet hell type of shooter games, so I'm kinda biased to talk about this, but I enjoyed your game and I liked the pace and effort you put into making it! :D Visually it looks pretty good, and I like the silhouette-style look you made for the game! The overall controls felt a bit slow at first, but I got used to it soon. Still, I found that you could've done something different for changing weapons (like cycling using Q and E, for example), so it would become even more easier and accesible. But I found it pretty fun to play and quite challenging! :D The music also helped set up a nice mood for the game too! And it really fits the game's setting! Nice work, Good Job! Cheers! :D |
| Aug 3 06:10:23 | 24m 06s | Super Helpful Man: An Old Man Super Hero Handy Man Simulator | ♥ 3 | Dude, I loved it! The graphics remember me of old point'n click games from Lucas Arts and they're quite charming in their own way! But what's outstanding about the game is its storyteling! Good job with that! Nice touch of humour, great mood, kinda sad in the end, but great job nonetheless! :D The soundtrack and voiceover fit so well and add a LOT to the game's atmosphere, it's so freaking great! For real, great! Also, great take on the theme there. It's kinda a sensible theme to talk about getting old, but you nailed it in a sweet way! Good job! Cheers! |
| Aug 3 06:19:12 | 8m 49s | Keep your sanity | ♥ 3 | Really creepy, and it's got a really nice atmosphere! :D It kinda reminded me, as the above feedback said, of Amnesia, but also of the Clock Tower series too! Keeping your sanity, while managing power is a nice concept, it's been used before, but it's always good when someone can bring their own touch to the genre! :D Shooting and hammering felt a bit slow to me, but overall controls felt really nice to play! Level design is really great, but what if you could make it roguelike? The experience could also become totally random, and you could even jumpscare a bit! :D Overall, I did like the work you've done here and it's great! The lighting also looked really great for me here! Congrats! Cheers! ;) |
| Aug 3 06:36:41 | 17m 29s | The Quest for the Mighty Battery Charger | ♥ 3 | The game's really short but, as I kinda really lived part of the first GB era, it totally catches the feeling of playing a gameboy game! The visual style and overall feeling do feel a lot like Link's Awakening, which I played a lot (and got totally lost since I only had the japanese cartridge of it! Controls and audio also really have the feeling and, while there's not a great variety of enemies, you really did a nice job wrapping up the game! And a great entry for being a first LD too! Congratulations, and keep making games! ;) Good luck there! |
| Aug 4 22:31:32 | 39h 54m | Lightbulb | ♥ 0 | The game feels more like a desktop toy/widget for me, but it's fun to play with the bulb! As people said, hidden stuff, easter eggs or other secrets could add something to engage the players a bit more, still it's fun. :D I liked the subtle sound effects (they felt a bit too low here) and how it pans the sounds on the stereo spectrum. Good job there! ;) |
| Aug 4 22:42:51 | 11m 19s | Power! | ♥ 1 | Really addictive and fun to play! The gameplay's really fast paced and it's also accessible, which is nice! As I had my headphones with the volume a bit high here, the opening sound freaked me out! :P But not your fault there. ;) Now, about the mechanics, I felt that you could add something besides touching on the wrong buttons, so the player wouldn't be tempted to follow a slow pace (since it looks like energy dropped at the same speed for me), and multiplier got stuck at 1.75 and I didn't understand how it worked. But, overall, it's a pretty nice entry and you can totally polish the idea, increase the challenges and publish it to an app store! ;) Good luck, Cheers! |
| Aug 9 03:55:04 | 101h 12m | 3eV | ♥ 0 | The game's really nice, and the concept is really well-thought, though I don't feel that it's quite on the theme (or, at least, I didn't quite get the theme in it). Gameplay-wise, the game's really accessible and easy to play, and the particle effects look really nice and easy to follow, it's nice to put a progressive learning experience, like you did there, so congrats on that! ;) The only thing I do feel is lacking, for real, is sound. The game's nice to play, but without sound it feels...a bit plain, so if you plan on making this into a full game later on, consider sounds, specially for atmosphere. ;) Good luck there, Good work! ;) |
| Aug 9 04:05:39 | 10m 35s | Battery Thief | ♥ 1 | Nice game! It's an infinite runner, people might think it's kinda cliché, but there's always space for one more, right? ;) Good work with the graphics, the sprites look really nice and the overall feel of the game is great, there's a nice mood, but there are a few things I didn't like, like the camera. I think the camera is too low and, depending on how you play the game, the ground disappears and you feel like "where am I going to land? should I use the jetpack?". I think centering the stage a bit more and make it so that the camera won't go upwards too much could help. Control-wise, I'd say the jump's a bit low, but since there's a jetpack it makes sense to have it like that. Control response was also really nice here. Good work, good luck there! :D |
| Aug 9 04:12:18 | 6m 39s | Demon's Katana | ♥ 0 | Nice entry! Packed with action and nice visuals! Great work on the graphics and level, the sounds also really help set the mood, so congrats on that! Initially, I thought that the game kinda lagged, but it played fine after a bit, controls are usual, FPS-like, but they do work nice (though, in FPS games with swords, I don't always feel/get how to hit properly :P). Also, nice of you to put a delay before the game starts! Good job there! Good luck! :D |
| Aug 9 04:32:19 | 20m 01s | Drifter | ♥ 1 | Nice use of the theme and nice concept for the game too! Graphics look nice and the soundtrack really does help set mood for the game. Controls feel nice and the game plays fairly nice, but there are things that can still be polished in the game, for example: - A compass, so you know where to come back to when you drift away too much; - Visual feedback and information when mining, shooting a laser and having the asteroid disappearing doesn't help much, so at least some text with what you just mined would help a lot; Also, I felt that the initial upgrades were quite expensive. You could introduce them in a progressive way, or make it so that the closest asteroids give enough material to upgrade and make the player feel confident about travelling further. Overall, the concept is great, I loved it and it can turn into a really nice roguelike game with the right polish. Keep up with the good work and keep making! Good job there! :D |
| Aug 9 04:55:27 | 23m 08s | Escape the Morgue | ♥ 1 | The graphics look great and, together with the audio, set up some great mood for this game! Nice work there, sir! :O The game felt a bit slow at first, but playing it felt nice soon enough, so it wasn't an issue. I did like the way the puzzles were a bit random, and that's a great point! Specially with the mood, it kinda gives the player some kinda desperate moments, even without the jumpscares. That last puzzle was kinda anti-climatic, though, but didn't take any of the experience playing it, so Good Work there! :) Congrats on your project! |
| Aug 9 05:02:48 | 7m 21s | Final Flight | ♥ 2 | Story-driven gameplays are always a nice thing when you do them right, the effort in doing them is also quite respectable, so kudos to that! ;) The voice overs were really nicely done, the quality was great and crystal clear, both from humans and robots (nice effect! ;D). The game can become really nice after some polish, it's a shame you couldn't do it the way you wanted to, but the work done here was great, and it was a really nice starting point! Congratulations and keep making! Good Work and Good Luck! :) |
| Aug 9 05:12:01 | 9m 13s | Firekeeper | ♥ 0 | Nice concept for the game! And I do like the visual style you chose for it, the effects are, also, really nice! :) The audio also helps set up a nice futuristic mood, so a big plus for that! :D Controls felt a bit laggy sometimes, and I felt enemies kinda harder to "kill". Some feedback or life meter could improve experience a bit, since it's quite difficult to know when you're in "danger". :) Overall, nice work, Good Job there! :D |
| Aug 9 05:32:31 | 20m 30s | Inverteb | ♥ 1 | WHOA! The visual style for this game is really cool! Nice work on the graphics and filters, the art direction here was for sure, aced! The same I can say about audio, specially the soundtrack! It blends so well with the visuals that it totally gets the player in the mood! Oozing style everywhere here! The controls are really nice too, as well as the shifting mechanic (+ visual changes when using it), it gives off a nice challenge, while also keeping up with the style the game has! Great work here! :O |
| Aug 9 05:50:18 | 17m 47s | Robocre:8 trials | ♥ 0 | Nice entry for a first time, and quite challenging too! Sometimes I felt that the graphics kinda confuse a bit, but they were really nice! The variety is also pretty good in the game! I also thought that it was kinda hard to get how scoring and EXP works, since I can only seel "LEVEL UP", but not how much I need to level up. Controller-wise, it was pretty responsive, though I could notice a bit of the things that happen in this type of game, when using Fusion (like when you aim at certain angles), but it's totally possible to fix, and not really a flaw in the game, so didn't take anything from the experience! Good job, keep making and Good Luck! :) |
| Aug 9 05:59:46 | 9m 28s | SPACEJAMMED | ♥ 1 | Nice work there with the visuals! The game looks beautiful and polished, it also sounds pretty nice! The soundtrack and sound effects were spot on and really well made, both blend together quite well! Controls could be a bit simpler, I believe, but they're easy to get this way. The game's also quite challenging and it's a nice take on both the sliding puzzle genre and the theme of power running out! Congrats on making it, Good Job there! :D |
| Aug 9 06:06:36 | 6m 50s | Wall Charger Addict | ♥ 1 | The take on the theme is quite nice and the game's concept is really good too, with some polish here and there, it has a lot of potential! :) And the challenge is pretty nice too! The controls felt great and responsive, though initially I thought that the character moved in a "tank-like" way (like in the old survival-horror type games), but were quite easy to get. I'm missing the sounds, though, and that kinda breaks the mood completely. Even if the game's nice and good to play, without sound feels strange. :P Good work, keep making! ;) Good Luck! |
| Aug 9 06:16:39 | 10m 03s | SPHEER | ♥ 1 | It totally has that Portal vibe, as most people said, but the energy sphere mechanic is also really great and polished! Nice work with them! Also, sounds and atmospheric soundtrack really do help set the mood and give a nice, futuristic feel. Controls are pretty responsive, easy to get and the puzzles, specially that 4-point one, are really well thought and built! Great work! Congrats! |
| Aug 9 06:29:40 | 13m 01s | Stray Impulse | ♥ 0 | It's a nice take on the theme, and the gameplay feels pretty solid too! Managing power to blast asteroids, save yourself, while also manoeuvering the ship was quite challenging and fun! :) Controls were also quite responsive and comfortable for me. More sounds could've made the experience a bit more immersive (ambient sounds, soundtrack, etc.), but it's a nice package here! Great work, congrats, Good Luck! ;) |
| Aug 9 07:03:52 | 34m 12s | UNTHRUSTY | ♥ 1 | The game looks and feels nice, but the spacebar thingy feels a bit too quick for a release/thrust, so I often ended up having to spam spacebar to properly thrust. The concept, though, is really nice and there's a lot you can still put into the game so it gains a bit more of a replay factor. :) The controls, despite the thrust meter being a bit too quick, are pretty accessible and that's something really nice! :D At least once I often ended up having Game Over even before the game started, though. :/ Overall, pretty nice entry and great teamwork there! ;) Good luck! |
| Aug 9 07:12:55 | 9m 03s | Station 5723: Reactor Down | ♥ 3 | Nice take on the theme! Though I wish it was a bit longer! :( The game looks pretty good and well polished, since you made some custom menus and other small details (no Unity launcher, hey!). ;) Good work on the graphics, audio and level design, it was really fun to play it! :D Really nice mood for the game too, and controls felt really nice to play! :) Congrats, and Good Luck! :) |
| Aug 14 01:55:10 | 114h 42m | Laptop Ship Shooter | ♥ 0 | While the concept is nice, pretty innovative and the game does follow the theme pretty close, some people might find the game unplayable. The concept of charging the ship together with the laptop is really nice, but not many people might like to plug/unplug their power supplies like this, some people might have laptops with a bad battery and won't be able to unplug/plug, while others just use a desktop pc (like me), which renders the game unplayable. So, my first tip would be: insert a mode to "emulate" charging the battery, or introduce another mechanic that makes the game more accessible to a broader audience. I played the game on my laptop and it played just fine, though the gameplay felt a bit slow (but, taking into account that you have to plug/unplug the laptop, it's perfect). It's not a bad thing, but takes away some of the fun of playing shooters, where you have to pay attention to the screen (also, let's say you're playing in a table, energy runs out and your cable falls to the ground, kinda not cool :/). Anyway, good work, you managed to build a game and ship it! So keep making, keep improving and work out the mechanics into an accessible thing. Maybe you could turn this game into something that uses a custom controller, to emulate plug/unplug of a battery/charger, or some kind of an installation. I'd find it terrific! :) Good luck, good work! |
| Aug 18 06:08:23 | 100h 13m | Danger Forever | ♥ 1 | Great work! Great use of the main theme too! The game looks and feels really nice to play, controls worked fine for me too, and it was quite a challenge! The work on the graphics was really well done, as well work done on audio, both blend really well and give a really nice mood there! :D Sometimes my ship tilted a bit and I didn't know why. Tried playing it in fullscreen, but everything looked strange (ship was misplaced, for example), but overall, the playing experience was really nice! Good job there! |
| Aug 18 06:18:54 | 10m 31s | EnergyBoy - Open World Tower Defense | ♥ 0 | The concept looks fun and nice, took a bit to get how to play and how things worked, but I managed to build and survive a bit! 😉 The graphics look friendly, kinda abstract, but friendly, nice and accessible, like a tower defense I could really play with children (and have'em learn what TD is). The soundtrack sounded a bit too repetitive, but it kinda helped create more of a friendly mood for the game. :) It still needs a bit of polish, though, like controls and some balancing. But Good Job! ;D |
| Aug 18 06:26:41 | 7m 47s | Owld | ♥ 0 | Really different concept, and the game's really challenging too! :D Having to manage the owl's energy, while also fetching the wood and avoiding objects when flying was really a challenge! It also has a great mood, but sometimes the game ended out of nowhere, don't know why, or if it's because I cleared it. :P The controls are simple, but work really well enough on the game! Good job there! Nice atmosphere! |
| Aug 18 06:36:16 | 9m 35s | [Web] Apocalyptic Gamer | ♥ 1 | This is really different, in every good sense of the word! :O The pixelated graphics, the sounds and the handheld remembered me about my Game Gear phase! That fucker ate batteries like a drain in a bathtub! 😛 But these were also really good times, as it was my first console. 😉 The use of the theme is really clever and different and managing the game, while also playing it was really a challenge! I had to play with a small note and pen by my side! :P Great job! Really! |
| Aug 18 06:59:26 | 23m 10s | The Hackerman | ♥ 1 | Nicely done! The game's really fun and all the references to internet culture, the popups, the messages incoming at just the "right" time and the music, they all fit so well, it's great! The fact that the locks and passwords keep changing and everything happening while you're hacking gives a lot of tension and set an amazing mood for the game! Really, great use of the concept, nice execution! Good job! |
| Aug 18 07:12:32 | 13m 06s | BatteryMan | ♥ 2 | Dude, this was really well done! It reminded me a lot of some games I played when young on my father's japanese NEC computer. Thanks to the fantasy console, it really captures that retro feeling, while also being really charming! The graphics are simple, but they do fit the style so well, and the audio's also another great point! Controls felt really good to play too! Great job there! |
| Aug 18 07:16:36 | 4m 04s | Tu.ah Fights Robots | ♥ 0 | Boy, this game looks so simple, but I did have some fun playing it! It does have some thing from rhythm-based games, given that you must swing at the right time, and those reflex-based games too! While the graphics are pretty basic the game does have a great mood and it's really fun to play it! Give it a polish, some more balancing and you've got a really nice game for ya! 😉 |
| Aug 18 07:29:47 | 13m 11s | Power Struggle | ♥ 0 | As you said, playing the game felt like the scope was really large, but you made something and that's great too! To me, it feels like it would be like a mix between a bit of a turn-based Age of Empires and some of the visual style of Darwinia (mostly because of the flat polygon look). The rigged entities move in a really nice way and the visual makes me think it would rock if you could've finished the game! The audio selection does help set some mood for it too, even though not much happens. ;P Anyway, Good Work! Good luck and keep making! :D |
| Aug 18 07:36:29 | 6m 42s | Click The Power | ♥ 1 | The idea's kinda simple, but it works really nice! More on the casual side of things, but keeping that bit of reflex-based gameplay, makes it really fun to play! :) It does feel short, so if you can find a way to make it endless, would be really fun! :D The game does have really accessible look and gameplay, so it's really nice and good for all ages! Good job there! |
| Aug 18 07:41:48 | 5m 19s | Crigy | ♥ 0 | It really does have that "Isaac" feeling, with some twin-stick shooter-like gameplay, which is really cool. But it does need some polishing, as the controls kinda felt strange and a bit hard (specially aiming), and in some rooms I just wasn't able to get the battery, since there were obstacle in the middle of the screen. The visuals and audio are really nice and do create some mood, and with some more polishing on the other parts, I believe you can make it great! :) Good work! |
| Aug 18 07:50:18 | 8m 30s | Exo | ♥ 0 | The base game mechanic is really nice, and the visual style of the game is also really good too! Great work on the animations, specially the power stealing. Background's also really well done too, and the soundtrack is really fitting (though, it felt a bit repetitive after playing a lot). The controls felt like they need a bit of polish, but overall, I believe you're in the right way! Keep making and Good Luck! ;D |
| Aug 18 08:05:01 | 14m 43s | Fukushima Robot | ♥ 0 | Really great work, kinda short, but fun nonetheless! I did not use too much of the boost, but the explodo-jump and the teleport, they were really useful while playing the game! The graphics and audio fx were really nice and well executed too, and controls worked like a charm for the game mechanic you thought of. ;) Also, great work with Haxeflixel! I wanted to try my hand at it, but ended up going for GameMaker again. Nicely done there! ;) Good job, Good Luck! :D |
| Aug 18 08:13:45 | 8m 44s | Bunker at Day Zero | ♥ 1 | Nice entry! While it does need a bit of polish, the concept's all there and it's really interesting too! ;) I do like the simple, voxel-based look of the characters and scene, and the audio helps set up some really tense mood. I did have an encounter, managed to survived, but the game locked on it, I kept clicking on Go to Next Day, which was the only available button, and the game ended. :/ But nice entry overall! Good works! ;) |
| Aug 18 08:22:13 | 8m 28s | Charge Hunt | ♥ 0 | First of all, congrats on your first entry! Taking the first steps into game making felt kinda hard for me, but after "finishing" my first jam, everything was really nice, so keep making! The game's pretty simple, but has a charm of its own, and the soundtrack does help set up some mood for the game. Gameplay-wise, it does need some polish, variation on levels/enemies, but you have a starting point! ;) Good luck there! :D Cheers! |
| Aug 18 08:33:37 | 11m 24s | B:/ Connected | ♥ 0 | Good job, great work on the puzzle design and game mechanics too. At first, checking only those black screens felt a bit like "wtf?", then I started inputting these commands and things started happening and bling! Good job with the graphics and audio, both work really nice and do set some really great mood for the game! Good Luck there! Cheers! |
| Aug 18 08:54:22 | 20m 45s | Tower of Power | ♥ 0 | The game's concept isn't new, but it's always fun and there's always space for one more, so congratulations on your entry. The top-down graphics are really nice as are the sound effects, but I think a soundtrack would juice it up a bit more. Until I got how some things worked, it took some time here, and the pace felt a bit slow, but once I got them, playing was really fun! :) Good job there! Keep making! ;) |
| Aug 18 08:56:37 | 2m 15s | Flying Aces - Going the distance! | ♥ 1 | Really nice and well executed! The graphics are really nice and the audio matches pretty well. It is, indeed, a simple game, but it's really well done and, with some polish and more variation, can be a really fun game to play! ;) The control felt really good and the overall experience was really fun and also relaxing! :D Good Job there! |
| Aug 18 09:04:18 | 7m 41s | CheikEyes | ♥ 0 | It looks like, if you were able to finish this game, it would've been a really lovely entry! The grungy graphics look really nice, and sets some really nice mood with the audio. Controls were a bit different from the usual RPG, which was really interesting. Nice work on the character design too! All of it was really interesting to me! ;D Good job! Good Luck! :) |
| Aug 18 09:17:39 | 13m 21s | Microwavo | ♥ 0 | To be honest, I kinda didn't get it fully, I did get some of the reaction-based gameplay you mentioned, but I believe it needs more polish, and some more explanation about the game mechanics as, the way it's presented right now, it feels too abstract. If you can polish it a bit more, I do think you might have a really nice game there! ;) Cheers! |
| Aug 18 09:19:45 | 2m 06s | Hydrocrypt | ♥ 1 | Whoa, really nice work! The visual style chosen really is great, I like how enemies contrast with the background, while your character kinda blends in with its palette! Audio's really nice too as are the controls, and it fels really good, and challenging, to play the game! Nice take on a roguelike, great job using Löve! |
| Aug 18 09:42:00 | 22m 15s | Power Core | ♥ 0 | Once I got how the game worked, it's a really nice experience to play it! The visuals look really nice and the soundtrack does blend well with it, which creates a nice mood, but kinda tense, mostly because how you're fighting against time to keep everything up and running! ;) Controls worked really nice and the use of theme was really creative! Good job there! ;) |
| Aug 18 20:35:33 | 10h 53m | FireMan | ♥ 0 | Good job working on this one! :D Visually, the game looks really nice, good job on the pixel art there! :) The soundtrack does fit the theme and contributes to the tension, but it's kinda loud, but nice choice for it! Controls felt too slippery and, the fact that you never know how close the rock is to the train, makes it kinda hard to fetch wood from the last wagons. :P But it's really nice, pretty interesting take on the theme and, with more polish, the game would be really great! :D Congrats! Good work! |
| Aug 18 20:53:28 | 17m 55s | Heal The Dark Lord! | ♥ 2 | Really great entry, amazing take on the theme! The game looks really good and the art assets were really well done! The sound effects and background audio do fit very well, and set up the dark mood, but not that dark, but a "friendly" dark mood! Nice touch of humor there, really challenging too! :D Playing it was great! Controls were really nice and it was pretty fun testing recipes around! :) Great job! ;D |
| Aug 18 21:04:25 | 10m 57s | Oh no! Democracy! | ♥ 1 | Kinda of a different take on the theme, than most people used, and really nice execution! Managing public unrest, while building the rocket was challenging and fun! Great work on the graphics too, even though simple, it's well executed and fit the game. Nice touch of humor too! ;) Missing audio here, to get a nice mood, but nothing that compromises the game! Great job on this entry! Good luck! :) |
| Aug 18 21:17:35 | 13m 10s | No Sorcerer's Sky | ♥ 2 | I did take a bit longer than I imagined to get how the game worked, but once I got, playing it was really fun! Nice take on the theme! Graphics add up to the touch of humor in the end cutscene, and are really fitting! :) Also, nice cow! ;D Good job on audio too, it really helps set the game's mood! Maybe the game needs some balancing, or something to gather scraps easily (though, if planning on launching on mobile, it's really nice like this). Great job! ;) |
| Aug 18 21:37:02 | 19m 27s | Power Ownage | ♥ 1 | Nice concept! I thought it was completely a twin-stick shooter game, but not exactly like that, eh? :) Pretty fun to play and the visual style is great, really fast-paced and challenging! That scorpion boss's lasers were kinda hard to dodge and, don't know if it's because of the way the game plays or the striped pattern, were kinda difficult for me to see them properly sometimes. But really nice to play! And kinda remembered me a bit of Machine Hunter, in style! Good work there! ;) |
| Aug 19 02:43:44 | 5h 06m | ULDOIS: Unavoidable Lonely Death Out In Space | ♥ 0 | I really dig the graphics style of the game and the asteroids-like gameplay, but I think most people might feel frustrated with the controls, but it's a question of getting used to it and understanding the propulsion system used. :) The game's quite challenging, having to control and shoot, while managing power and fetching more power is really nice. :D With more polish and some fine testing on controls, for balancing, could be a really nice take on the genre. :) Good job! P.s.: Not everyone might agree to open the .love file, so it's always good to put some kind of executable somewhere ;) |
| Aug 19 02:54:41 | 10m 57s | Fade Out | ♥ 0 | I didn't understand how to start the game at first, but once I got it, and started playing, it's pretty challenging and fun! Kinda abstract how the level behaves, I see there was some pattern on how it happend and it's really cool how you did that! The graphics remembered me a LOT of GameBoy games and the audio, while with a better quality than a GB, really fits! :) Controls also worked nicely! Good job! Even though you ran out of time! :P |
| Aug 19 03:01:15 | 6m 34s | PathFinder | ♥ 0 | Oh, I really like this type of puzzle! Nice work there and nice take on the theme (I assume the number of movements is power, right?), the graphics are also really nice, and having the possibility to generate/customize the maps is really an awesome thing! Good job there! ;) I do believe it needs sounds, though, to set up some mood for the game. And, also, in this type of game I like the possibility to speed up/slow down how the actors move, since some times people make'em a tad slow. :P But Good Job there, sir! ;) |
| Aug 19 03:33:04 | 31m 49s | Acorn Hunter | ♥ 0 | I do get the concept of storing calories for winter and I think it's a nice take on the theme, but it does need some polish. The visuals are really nicely done for the scenery and squirrel, but without sounds I couldn't get the mood of the game. Controls, after I remapped them, were the usual FPS-like, and responded very well and I easily got the hangs of the game. But I kinda wanted some feedback for when I'm hit, or I'm about to die, because there's none. :P You're on the right track, you've got a concept! Give it a polish, more features and you've got a game ready! ;) Good work! :) |
| Aug 19 03:40:45 | 7m 41s | EscapePinball | ♥ 0 | I kinda didn't get fully how the theme's applied, save for the fact that you must power some lights to open the gates. But, a pinball? That's pretty original! Even though the table's kinda unfinished (textures and all), good job on it! It does have potential and, if you polish it, put more sounds and atmosphere/music, it would rock, I'm sure! Controls worked very well and playing it was really nice! :) Good job! |
| Aug 19 03:57:36 | 16m 51s | Battery Life - My first ever submission! | ♥ 0 | Whenever I see a project that ran out of time, I keep thinking and imagining how it would be if the developer had more time, and this one I believe would be really fun (and dangerous, since I'm kinda addicted to these types of games :P). Gameplay-wise, it remembered me a bit of Geometry Wars 3's Pacifist mode, bit with a more slow increase of enemies. More enemy types could make this even more challenging. Also, audio would've added a lot more depth into this game, I'm sure! Good Job anyway! :) |
| Aug 19 04:14:30 | 16m 54s | SuperCat vs SuperDog | ♥ 0 | Presentation-wise, you did a very good job with the title screen, credits and overall look of the game. But there's one problem: HOW do you play it? I see you can use up/down arrows to move up and down, but what else? I tried pressing mouse keys, every single key on my keyboard and X360 gamepad, it didn't work, nothing happened, which kinda made the experience not that much fun. Visually speaking, the game does look nice and has very good presentation, and the audio selection does fit it and give a nice mood, but it's a bit unplayable, aside from moving up and down. Some parallax would make the moving experience better on the game screen (backgrounds don't repeat and they're static) and variation on scenery would make it a bit more interesting. I can see there was effort in building the game, and presenting it, and that's really good! But having it unplayable kinda missed the point. If it's a bug, and it's possible to fix it, please do so, so people won't have problems playing your game. :) Good Luck! |
| Aug 19 04:24:09 | 9m 39s | Powerful Bloodlust | ♥ 0 | Nice effort here! And the concept's a pretty interesting one to explore too! It's a shame you couldn't finish it fully, but having started a project's a really good thing! So you're a winner anyway! :) Good work on the modelling of the characters and animations, I didn't hear sfx more than "Vampire!", so I can't say much about it, but having ambient sound would help a lot here! ;) The tank-like controls kinda felt strange at first, but could get used to it! Dashing, though, I felt a bit problematic (went through some buildings, and other small issues), but didn't compromise my vision of the core you thought for the game. Nice work, good job there! ;) |
| Aug 19 04:29:23 | 5m 14s | They Came from Planet ZhorPak | ♥ 1 | Having a fun time developing I think it's the best thing, even if the project comes a bit rough, it's a short deadline after all! :) Can see the effort in making an asteroids-like wrapping mechanic here, and nice work on the graphics too! They reminded a bit of some old shooter games I played back when I was a kid. :D No sound kinda takes some of the mood but, to be honest, I played a lot of games with no sound at that time too (we could only patch up the TV to an old japanese NEC computer, but no sound :/). Kinda hard to aim and kinda easy to die, without a hud, so if you plan on keeping the work on this project, insert some UI there to help the players! :) Also, balance out the player and the enemies' gun, so it'll be less easy to die and easier to aim and shoot too! :) Nice entry, great effort! Good job! Keep maknig! ;) |
| Aug 19 04:43:22 | 13m 59s | Unfinished Ludumdare 39 Game | ♥ 0 | Oh, nice work with the graphics! :) The tank sprite and the tiles look great, it's a shame you couldn't put more stuff into it, like the flipping animation, enemies and more features, that would've been really cool! Having a level generator is pretty nice too and the way the game looks, I can totally think about what you had in mind for it! Keep working, keep making, it's really nice to see this type of games! :D Good Luck! ;) |
| Aug 19 05:01:13 | 17m 51s | Running out of Sugar | ♥ 1 | Nice, simple and fun! Really nice job on the artwork and on the use of theme overall, it's simple, but fun and kinda addictive! :D With more food variations it could offer a lot more challenges! The mood of the game's also pretty good and, even though a bit simple, the game has a lot of charm and style! While it's also really accessible, thanks to the simple concept and controls, which I think is darn good! :D Good job! |
| Aug 19 05:37:11 | 35m 58s | The Tertielemental Wizard | ♥ 1 | Nice work on the game! Pretty challenging, but also simple and accessible! :D The graphics are really nice and blend really well with the sounds and soundtrack. I believe, though, that some balancing is needed, since it's kinda hard to escape from some enemies' attacks. More animations would add a lot too, but it's really nice the way it is! :) Good job there, Good Luck! :) |
| Aug 19 05:45:19 | 8m 08s | YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT | ♥ 0 | The visuals are trippy and cute at the same time, and it's a kinda different take on the theme! :P Nice twin stick shooter and nice work on the visuals, they do add to the game's mood! :3 I feel it's lacking a bit on the sfx part, they would add more depth and fun to the game! ;) Controls were the usual twin-stick type, and pretty responsive! It's quite challenging to go after some of the food there! XD Nice job! |
| Aug 19 18:37:28 | 12h 52m | Potential Energy | ♥ 1 | Great mood and really nice take on the theme! It kinda reminded me a bit about Thomas was Alone, but with a more darker and "human" nature. :) It was really nice and enjoyable to play, nice work on the history, though the visuals looked too dark sometimes (might be my brightness here), but I really liked it! :) Good job there! :D |
| Aug 19 18:51:56 | 14m 28s | Get Energised! | ♥ 1 | I do like randomly generated top-down shooters, so good work there! :) Nice job with the level generator, really liked how they were created but I think you should find a way to make some mobs spawn closer on some levels, so you wouldn't die faster. Don't make it based on luck 100%. I had the same problem with my game (sometimes mobs would spawn distant, other times would spawn fewer mobs), so I ended up remaking it completely for LOWREZJAM, to fix everything that I thought was needed (balancing enemy spawns, levels and some other things). You could, as soon as level advances, increase little by little the steps the level generator uses, so further levels would look bigger and more like mazes, giving a more stranded feeling! ;) Controls worked really nicely and I really liked the fact that you could zoom in/out the camera, that the screen is resizable and kinda responsive, but try to keep the interface without zooming ;). Also, try to give the crosshair some kind of border, so it won't disappear in parts or completely in dark areas/backgrounds. :) Anyway, overall, it's really fun to play and I really liked the concept! The graphics look cool and the explosion animation was really nicely done! :D With more polish you totally have a nice game here! :) Good job, keep making! ;) P.s.: try to zip your game, instead of placing it an installer, as not everyone likes to install, most people will just extract and play, as it's faster. |
| Aug 19 18:58:14 | 6m 18s | Glitterwing VS Apocalipsaur | ♥ 1 | Nice job there! The graphics look really nice and the game mechanic, based on plugging the right plug into an outlet, then activating it was really fun and kinda confusing (in a good way). The sound also complements it pretty well! :D Having more monsters, more plugs/different positions for outlets and more stuff would make this even more nice! Controls are already pretty accessible, so with more content, it would totally rock! ;) Great job there! :D |
| Aug 20 20:32:12 | 25h 33m | Captain Quark and the Search For More Power | ♥ 1 | So, as most people said, it's basically Asteroids, and it's pretty solid and nicely executed, save from a few caveats: - Wrapping works on left/right, but going up/down my ship disappeared and I couldn't get it back on the screen; - The asteroids keep piling up on the game screen, making further attempts to play, after you die, really difficult; - The shots are too small, and I could barely see them; - Where's the fuel bar? I could only see my power bar and didn't get when I should warp; Also, you need to give it a bit of a twist, like a different mechanic for asteroids, escaping, something different (power ups?). Besides that, good work with the project! It plays nicely and it's pretty solid, controls also work nicely too! :) |
| Aug 20 20:51:57 | 19m 45s | My Dear Battery | ♥ 1 | A reflex-type clicking game, eh? It's nice, not many secrets on how to play, which makes it really accessible. Nice effort on the graphics and animations and sounds too, the soundtrack sounded a bit strange the first time I heard, but it does fit the mood of the game. I do believe two things, though: - The game plays better on mobile/touch screens than on desktop; - The motive I wrote the topic above is that after roughly a minute on playing the game, difficulty gets an increase of 500%, which makes it really unbalanced, specially for a game that looks a bit on the casual side; It's a great effort in all areas, nice entry, but needs balancing! ;) Good luck there! |
| Aug 20 21:06:29 | 14m 32s | Influencer Tycoon | ♥ 1 | I didn't get fully the best way to get selfies with more followers, but the concept behind the game's really nice! More places, more outlets would be really a nice addition to the game and could add a bit more challenge! I think more variation on sounds, could also add a bit more depth to the game. Having the map procedurally generated is a great thing, which adds up to the challenging and replayability factors! :D Good job there! |
| Aug 21 02:43:29 | 5h 37m | CG Petrel MK II Simulator | ♥ 1 | I kinda enjoyed playing and trying to manage the ship's energy and network load, but I got stuck on how charging works for the battery, since it's not 100% clear to me at least. I do like these types of games, even though I get lost in the UI sometimes, but I prefer when we have more visual feedback than "look into the main display". Since we have to look at the radar, think that it's easier for the player to trust in his/her peripheral than to look for textual information on a display. ;) The game, though, with its mechanics, has some really great work done, so Good Job! ;) |
| Aug 21 03:10:05 | 26m 36s | GLOW | ♥ 1 | The game's visual style, with this vignette effect and dark, grey, tones, kinda reminded a bit of limbo, saved for the neon colors of the power ups and enemies, really nice work on that! Although there's not animation for mobs and the player character itself, it's not something that affects the game, just a minor detail. The soundtrack and effects complete the atmosphere of the game nicely and blend with the style of the game to create some great mood too! :D The controls were really easy to get, and manoeuvering in the labyrinth proved a bit challenging too, as giving the bubbles to some of the jellyfish (that top part was the first I went to, without reading much of the instructions, and proved quite a challenge :P). Really did enjoy playing! Great work there, sir! ;) |
| Aug 21 03:22:54 | 12m 49s | Blackout Defense | ♥ 0 | For a first LD entry, it's a really nice project! And don't worry about running out of time, you did start a project and published it, and it's the most important step there! ;) The concept of the game's really nice, mixing some resource management, base building and twin-stick shooter like mechanics, but there are some points I think it's good to polish. As you said, the game needs balancing, but shooting also kinda strange, as I expected the player character to shoot in the mouse's direction, and not straight, some feedback when mining would also be really nice. You already have a great start there, so keep going! ;) Good Luck there! :) |
| Aug 21 03:36:23 | 13m 29s | Spaceship Rescue | ♥ 1 | Nice job on your first entry and good job at releasing it here! :) The game kinda reminded me a bit of a Tron-like world, and the 80's styled music kinda reinforced that to me. The game's controls felt a bit hard to me, don't know why, in the first play, but after I got used to them I didn't feel that. The game starts feeling a bit repetitive after some time, but it's the kind of danger that games in this style tend to have, but doesn't take anything from the playing experience. Good work there! Keep making! ;) |
| Aug 21 03:45:28 | 9m 05s | Last Shine | ♥ 0 | The game's so short, but it's really nice and sweet! Kinda challenging, as you will often die after a group of enemies appear. I know the hero's gotten old, but a bit more balancing on this part would be nice (I did like that he gets bad sometimes, though :P). Great work on the visuals for the game, as well for the audio! The story's also really nice and the ending was quite a nice thing too! :D Good job there! ;) |
| Aug 21 04:07:36 | 22m 08s | Mr Mayor's Energy Crisis | ♥ 1 | I did like managing the power outputs of the different power plants and see that there were different outcomes for the use of each one, in the news and also popularity. Really did like the mostly flat polygon look and the simplicity of things in the game. Despite the simplicity, properly managing the power resources was quite challenging and it's nice to think about the consequences too! Goos job! ;) |
| Aug 21 04:15:12 | 7m 36s | Night Shift | ♥ 0 | Really reminded me of Sokoban mixed with the limited movements of Intelligent Qube, which is pretty nice and challenging, and I did like the overall game mechanics, though sometimes wished the character moved a bit faster. :P The absence of sound kinda takes some of the game's mood, but not the fun and challenge. ;) Dying and restarting does feel a bit frustrating though, after you get so used to more current games where checkpoints or a "continue from level X" became quite common. Great work and good job, though! ;) |
| Aug 21 04:22:42 | 7m 30s | Power Rhythm | ♥ 0 | I love rhythm-based games like Pop'n Music and Guitar Hero, and I think you kinda mixed some Pop'n with GH here (energy bits look a bit like PnM's track buttons and the mechanic of holding a key then pressing another reminded me of the chord/pick mechanic in GH). Really nice work on the soundtrack, synchro and overall game mechanics! I did like it a lot! ;) Good job there! And nice take on the theme too! :D It's kinda hard checking rhythm-based games here, so it's always a nice view to see one! |
| Aug 21 04:38:09 | 15m 27s | Reverse Thrust | ♥ 0 | It felt to me like a mix of Asteroids with Super Stardust and an infinite runner, which felt really good! Managing your ship's energy, while going through an asteroid field and travelling was really fun! It also looks really nice (nice bumpmaps there ;P) and plays nice, though it kinda felt a bit repetitive after some time (even though enemies appeared), but the challenge kept increasing (which is really good). Good job there! |
| Aug 21 05:01:00 | 22m 51s | < Mr. Plug > | ♥ 1 | Really nice entry, the graphics are simple, but are kinda charming and well thought! The game itself is quite challenging (THAT THIRD FRAGMENT :P) and I really had some fun with this. Controls worked just fine for me and the overall experience of playing it was really fun, though the mood was cut a bit because of the lack of audio. :P Nice entry overall! Good job there! |
| Aug 21 05:07:27 | 6m 27s | Shattered | ♥ 1 | I did try to play it a bit here and it's really nice! Though I felt controls and some of the collisions didn't work well for me (pluggin' in was kinda hard and I had to jump/roll to properly charge my base), but it's a pretty original take on the theme! :D Nice lamps, btw! This could become even nice with local offline battles and more types of lamps. :P The audio in the game was really well done and fits perfectly after you start playing it! :D Good job! |
| Aug 21 05:28:58 | 21m 31s | Rude Bear ReRPG | ♥ 0 | I didn't expect the game to be like this when I saw a screenshot at first, but it's really damn cool, and the art is pretty rad! :O The papercut style of the game, with the sticks and all rocks and feels pretty unique! The battle system really does make it challenging, but it's also really fun to play and match the proper commands to attack, defend and try to win battles. The audio also really does help with the mood and the overall feeling of the game's really nice! :D Congrats! Great job there! :) |
| Aug 21 05:53:42 | 24m 44s | Slowbot | ♥ 0 | Nice and well executed, good use of the theme too! I really did like the graphics and the sounds, the robotic voice was spot-on, and the overall mechanic of scavenging for power while searching for lights was pretty good. Though, I felt some of the levels quite unbalanced. Was the 9th level that short on purpose? I'd prefer to have some kind of feeling of progression too. :P But overall, I did have fun playing it! :) |
| Aug 21 06:20:32 | 26m 50s | Truck, Fuel my Rockets | ♥ 1 | Great! I played this for a long time! Until I got to 80 or so rockets, but stopped because there's no rewards. The visual style of the game, the sounds and controls are really great to me, and worked quite nicely here! I loved the concept, and I can totally imagine this as some kinda time-limited, battle-type, multiplayer game! :D Great work overall, good job setting up the mood, +1 for the vocal sounds there! ;D |
| Aug 21 06:29:46 | 9m 14s | Super Charged | ♥ 1 | Gameplay-wise, it's pretty fun and really well wrapped up as a game, it's accessible and simple to play, has some really challenging levels, while keeping a really nice, minimalistic style. The concept behind the game is good too and I really did have some fun playing it! I'd insert a more "progressive" difficulty, though, making the player learn a bit how to read the patterns (if there's any when entities spawn). But great job there! ;) |
| Aug 21 06:45:43 | 15m 57s | Windup | ♥ 0 | I really liked the overall game mechanic, really reminiscent of 3D platformers like Mario 64, but with its own style, based around the wind up keys and coins. Really like the presentation, the visuals are really nice and the audio helps set the mood really well, so great job there! Controls also worked really nice, when I got around them and the spring mechanic was really intuitive. :) Couldn't find that last key on the first level though! :P But Great Job! |
| Aug 21 06:56:08 | 10m 25s | Don't run out of Power | ♥ 1 | The concept behind is really nice and the game mechanic is good too, though it needs more balancing, specially when large swarms start to come. The graphics are nice, but I didn't like the presentation of the instructions in the beginning of the game, it kinda felt a bit not so organized. :P If you can balance the waves and gameplay, it's got a pretty nice mechanic to work upon! :D Good Job there! |
| Aug 21 07:06:15 | 10m 07s | Archimedes 2029 | ♥ 0 | The look and feel of the game was really nice to me, initially, and the overall concept is a really good one too: managing and scavenging resources while lost in space, but I felt it lacked something after I started playing it. If the background has the possibility of having white stuff (stars, for example), try to put a border on the text, specially the title screen, make it fully readable, first impressions are always important! ;) The controls felt a bit sluggish and jumping, when inside the main ship, felt a bit too much delayed. Also, while it does have a really nice minimap, it's still easy to get lost, specially if you distance yourself too much from the main ship. Put some direction indicator or something like that! ;) By balancing some points and giving it a polish, you'll have a really nice game to work upon. :) Good job there! ;) |
| Aug 21 07:12:06 | 5m 51s | Devil On Rails | ♥ 1 | The look and feel, the presentation of this game, is really pro-level, really nice! But the interface, at least to me, felt like a mobile-tailored one! :P Nice work on the 3D models and overall visuals, the audio also really rocks! But when you kill too many enemies at the same times the sound just gets LOUD, which kinda take some of the fun and completely break the mood. Controls-wise, it felt like a button mashing-type of game, and I could only feel the basic mouse-based attacks, and couldn't notice the strong attacks, to be honest. Also, some player feedback, as some said, would be really nice to juice up the game! Overall, pretty fun and nicely done! :D |
| Aug 21 07:53:48 | 41m 42s | Super Starcade PANIC | ♥ 1 | Dude, this entry is awesome, to say the least! Incredibly well polished and really well thought! Also, you made it totally believable to have this type of game on a 16-bit console to me! :P Visually, it looks beautiful, the pixel art was really well-crafted here in every single object in the game. The references to games in the cartridge names were really good and sound work here is superb! Congrats there! The game mechanics could've differences between the cartridges, but this and other stuff are just small stuff to polish! It totally rocks! Good job there! :D |
| Aug 21 08:01:50 | 8m 02s | Sparky | ♥ 0 | It's short, but explains the mechanics quite well and it's pretty fun in the end! :D Also, even for a tutorial level, it's quite challenging project! Graphics and sound do fit pretty well together and the overall gameplay experience it's really nice. I did like the mechanic of balancing the power. Pretty sure if you polish, add some levels and put more of that progression feeling for the tutorial, it would certainly rock! :D Good Job there! ;) |
| Aug 21 08:07:19 | 5m 29s | Power Dronomics | ♥ 0 | Really nice entry, the vector-like visuals do fit with the overall theme and the choice of music too! The game's really challenging as a tower-defense, while also being easy to get and really charming on its own! :D A bit more polish, some speed options and more building-types would really rock here! :) Also, Good Job using Löve! I do want to learn to use it soon and I always find it great when I see people using it! |
| Aug 21 08:19:25 | 12m 06s | Zombie Rush | ♥ 1 | The base concept for this game is good, avoiding zombies, saving fuel and keeping your health isn't something 100% new, but lots of things can be built using these concepts and not being cliché! ;) Nice work on your first entry! I do think your idea has potential, I can see the effort in the visuals and general game style, but there's things you should polish in this game too. Draw distance, for example, absolutely increases the difficulty in avoiding some of the zombies, specially since you use a centered view on the main car and a kinda zoomed-in camera on it. Also, the thing about driving outside the road and being called a "cheater". I know, you wanted to add a touch of humor here, but having to close/reopen the game after that doesn't help here and that does bother anybody playing your game, so try to be a bit softer and also add the opportunity for the player to restart the level. The controls are responsive, but it doesn't feel like controlling a car, it kinda feels like using one of those crane machines, so try to add some tiny details, turning the car and subtle things that juice up the experience! ;) Just give it a polish, and I'm sure you'll have a really great project here to work upon! Good job on your first entry, Good Luck with your projects! |
| Aug 21 08:31:57 | 12m 32s | Surge - LD39 | ♥ 1 | I really enjoyed this game, tbh! Its looks are simple, but do pass the message, its progression feeling too is quite good and the controls work pretty well also! The sound really does help with the game's mood, but I miss a bit more sounds in the mix there! ;) Overall, great work with Löve and Great Job with your game! Congrats and Good Luck! |
| Aug 21 08:41:46 | 9m 49s | Energy Raid | ♥ 1 | While I did like the presentation on the game (nice use of FFVII music, btw :P), I do feel the game needs a bit of balancing. The basic weapon takes too long to inflict damage and the charging stations take too long to charge, that's what I felt. Also, controls needed a bit more tuning (though, 72h is quite a short time to do it :P). The overall feeling and challenge in this game are pretty good and, boy, it does feel like a 90's/early 00's shmup game! :D Good job there! Keep making! ;) |
| Aug 21 08:54:59 | 13m 13s | Running the Marathon | ♥ 1 | Boy, this project does take the theme in quite an interesting way there! :P Good job and, nice work with the presentation! It does feel retro and really well wrapped up! :P It's like playing Track & Field with GT's endurance racing! While it does require a LOT of patience to play it, it's quite a nice game as a casual play and does entertain greatly! The details in the animation, clouds, aeroplane sounds also really help with the mood of the game! Good job there! ;) |
| Aug 21 09:01:49 | 6m 50s | Space Power Defender | ♥ 1 | Nice work here! Gameplay-wise it's pretty simple, though I don't like the tank-like controls very much, it feels, to me, that a twin-stick-like control scheme would work better here. The presentation is really nice and I did really like the pixel art here, as well as the work on sounds and music, as they both blend in a really good way! ;) Good job here! Good Luck also! ;) |
| Aug 21 09:12:42 | 10m 53s | Tiny Warlock | ♥ 1 | Dude, this is pretty simple, but it's really nice and quite chaotic! :P The particle effects look great, all the effects, the chaos that happens with enemies, even though it's low-res, it's quite intense and quite full of action there, and challenging too, of course! ;) Everything blends so well, and it's so nicely wrapped up that it feels really good to play! Good job there! Congrats and Good Luck! ;) |
| Aug 21 16:18:05 | 7h 05m | Recharge | ♥ 1 | The game does have a really nice atmosphere and a really nice concept behind, the pixelart does look really nice and sound design is good too, both blend pretty well, but the game needs some more polish in a lot of areas, just as you said in the description, as it seems to lack an objective, there's no game over and the energy draining doesn't do anything. It's a good starting point, though, and once you sort everything out, you might have a really nice project to work upon! So Good Job there, and Good Luck too! ;) |
| Aug 21 16:26:44 | 8m 39s | Down to the last Percents | ♥ 0 | The base concept for this game is really nice and the execution is also really great! I do like the blocky look and the pixelart style, and the lighting and sounds do help create a mood for the game. I do agree that adding more apps, notifications and sound-related stuff could add to the challenge and difficulty! :P The current state is kinda simple and easy to get by the stages. Control-wise, it played really well, and having to manage walking, handling the phone and hiding is nice too! :D Good job there! ;) |
| Aug 21 16:39:19 | 12m 35s | I Need A Charger! | ♥ 0 | I do like the game's look and feel, its concept is also really nice and having a randomly generated city every time you play is great and challenging too! :D But the pace of the game's kinda slow. Since I saw a cartoony character I expected it to go a bit faster (specially since you're in a hurry). The game is challenging and fun to play at the current state, though, and I quite liked playing it. :P The graphics are simple, but do the job quite well, and the soundtrack is also really good! ;) Good job there! Good Luck! |
| Aug 21 16:46:02 | 6m 43s | Sparm Rece | ♥ 0 | While I did like the mechanic and the concept behind the game, it's quite challenging! Perhaps a bit too much, since you end your juice quite fast and end up losing every single time! More balancing needed in here! ;P Visually, the game's nice and it does feature some nice humor here, but no audio kinda takes the fun a bit from the game, as it doesn't help setting a nice mood. :/ But it's a nice entry! Good work there! ;) |
| Aug 21 16:56:05 | 10m 03s | Do Before Power Ends | ♥ 0 | It does feel more like a toy, rather than a full game. Is the only purpose in the game to use apps and recharge? You could add some power management features here and other small features to make it feel a bit more like a game. As a concept, it works really nice! Also, +1 for using scratch! :D |
| Aug 21 17:02:26 | 6m 21s | Turn Down For Watt | ♥ 0 | Really did enjoy playing it and the base concept/use of theme are really nice! It's simple, but kinda challenging and nicely wrapped up! More features, more rooms and stuff to manage would be really nice! I did feel, though, that power drains so fast! :P But, overall, the game is pretty fun! Good job there! :D |
| Aug 21 21:46:23 | 4h 43m | Asteroid Miner | ♥ 1 | Feels like a mix between Asteroids and Super Stardust here! :P The game looks pretty nice and the sounds do fit the style you've chosen here, but I think some more balancing, specially on how the game advances would be nice. Also, mouse controls for this kinda don't fit well (for me). Having a twin-stick-like controller would be better here. And, on the main menu, when you click on Help, it would be nice to have an overlay, indicating that you can't click on some buttons, as all buttons have the same colour. Nice job, overall! ;) |
| Aug 21 21:57:26 | 11m 03s | Unpowerer | ♥ 1 | The base concept is really nice, felt like it had some inspiration from Megaman and Metroid here, but controls felt a bit slippery, some balancing is needed on this part here. ;) Also, every time you win from a boss, your power gets heavily chopped up, a less intense chopping would be better here, as seeing your power heavily drained on the second boss kinda feels a bit frustrating. :/ The visuals are nice and really 8-bit like, but more animations would make the game more appealing. If you polish this project, control-wise and balance it a bit, you have a nice start already! ;) Good luck, good work and keep making! :D |
| Aug 21 22:04:29 | 7m 03s | StarAway | ♥ 1 | Oh, boy, you captured that StarFox feeling from SNES with a nice touch of humor here! It also has a mechanic that reminded me a bit of Race the Sun, which is really nice and gives it some tension! Dialogues are really nice and I liked how you referenced things from Star Fox here! :) Controls worked really nice here! I think that the energy drained quite fast here, and some more control over the ship's altitude would be nice too. Overal, really nice entry here! :D |
| Aug 21 22:19:05 | 14m 36s | Micro Mayhem | ♥ 0 | Finishing the race was quite the task here! :O Both track design and the controls make it a challenging game, but it does need balancing, specially on the latter part. Controls felt a bit too slippery, and I often had to keep a stop and go style when playing. The AI cars, though, really well done here! :O Visually, the game's really well built, the cars reminded me of some of my toy cars when I was a kid, and somehow the track design reminded a bit of one of Megarace 2's tracks (Tibet, I think). Sounds also reminded me of some old racing games here, so good job! ;) Nice job overall! More balancing and polish would make this a really fun battle racing game! :D |
| Aug 21 22:26:00 | 6m 55s | Out of Power | ♥ 1 | Nice use of theme here, having the robot lose power, strength and vision is really nice and does create a mood for the game. The visuals are also really well made and the sound does complement the setting, but more sound effects could make more immersive. :) Also, the controls felt a bit too slippery for a platformer game, even though the robot has a wheel and acceleration/deceleration affects the movement. Double jumping was also pretty possible by just reaching the ledges of some platforms (which is absolutely needed) and sometimes jumping while moving was a tad frustrating because I went so far from where I wanted to go. :P But it's a nice start overall, with polish and some additions it's a nice project to dev upon! :) Good job! |
| Aug 21 22:31:45 | 5m 45s | Lightcap | ♥ 0 | Really fun, nice use of theme and the room generation is really nice! I did like the in-place transition between rooms here. But room generation needs a bit of balance, I believe. It's fairly easy to lose all lives while in the middle of the map. Implementing an hp bar and some stealth-based mechanics could help improve things a bit here. Overall, really nice presentation and 3D work here, and the sound does help create a really nice mood! So congratz and Good Luck! ;) |
