The game is a lot of fun, but I found the truck controls quit unintuitive.

really good game, beautifull and exiting, but command are a bit strange

I like the concept of this game. You play against AI drivers, trying too add more fuel to your rocket so you can shoot the most rockets in to space. However, my big gripe with this game is, like the other commenters already pointed out, that the controls aren't good. In my opinion it would have made much more sense to just turn with A and D and go forward and backwards with W and S. Then add some driving and you have a pretty cool game. The graphics looked really nice and the audio is decent. Well done.

About the difficulty: I don't think the game is too easy, maybe a little bit too hard. But I think that also has something too do with the controlls.

Graphics and Audio are really great, and I like the interaction with the bots, but yeah, it is a bit difficult to collect the fuel. Part of the problem is the control method, but also, it is difficult to get each fuel chunk, as the truck is pretty small, and the fuel rolls around a lot.

It might be a good idea to have different attachments, like perhaps a magnet, or a big shovel, or the ability to steal fuel from the bots. Also, it could be cool to have more trucks per rocket, and maybe only two or three teams. That way you could also have ally interaction, and the game depth would be increased.

First of all, controls are not intuitive. It's not like you can't get used to them (I got), but I haven't seen other games with that control scheme, so better keep to known standards. Also, when rotating when at zero velocity, I could easily lose a lot of fuel, that should be fixed. Bot AI is really decent, they try to hit you, but not endlessly, they don't get bugged. Interaction between you and your enemies is really fun, and if you want to make real game from this, you should focus on that. Maybe adding multiplayer and more interaction could add more to this game.

About balance. For me, it wasn't really hard to get past 30, but it was **too long damn time**. Better increase fuel lost amount, so the 'hard point' is about 10 level.

Music was fine, it didn't make me mad or irritated.

Also, try rating other devs' games too, then more people will be able to rate your game.

I almost forgot. Sounds made by trucks and rockets are absolutely splendid xD

Great game! The kind of game that would be fun played split screen 4 players. The sounds were fun, and the graphics feel polished. Good job!

nicso 2017-08-03 17:49

The game could benefit from having more interactions with other players. Right now this is more or less everyone in is corner, living teiir lives ^^. Also, fuel is spawn on the right of the pad, making it roll to the right of the map. Seems a little bit unfair.

Graphics are cool, lighting effects adding a lot to the atmosphere.

Almost everyone mentioned the controls, I will say I do like the look of the game. The sound effects are very interesting, especially when the cars collects fuel pods.

Thanks for the comments so far everyone -- I haven't started rating yet, so that's much appreciated. Based on initial feedback I’ve done a post-compo build that uses relative left/right controls. I've put more details in the "post-compo" section of the description.

Personally I prefer the post-compo (more visibly drifty controls) for fun, but the original compo controls for the challenge and this specific game. If I were to develop this further I’d go for some balance between the two, but likely also change some of the fuel placement and map details to better suit the relative controls.

Really fun game! Shame that there's not really an end to the game as I feel like that would have made the game a lot more addicting instead of getting tired after a while. Overall I am happy and enjoyed your game!

Fun game with interesting gameplay. The graphics were soo good, actually I think they were too good, since performance was bellow 30 fps in my GT840m. The controls feel a bit odd at first but are fun and responsive as soon as you get the grasp of them. Good work!

sleepystudios 2017-08-19 11:54

Felt fun to play for a while but after a while it does get repetitive. Really liked the effects and overall aesthetics. Especially liked the way the little nuggets could fall out of the truck from gravity or going to fast, nice touch.

I really liked this game! Nice concept and well executed. There could have been more gameplay elements, such as power ups to give more depth to the game. Still it was rather enjoyable. Good job on the sound effects, really liked the rocket sound and the sound the fuel made when you returned to your launch pad.

The music was a bit too serious for the game, a more joyful/playful soundtrack would fit better in my opinion.

Overall great work!

jondalnas 2017-08-19 12:12

Overall a fantastic game! The controls were prefect for a truck, the particles were beautiful and the sound effects were sooooo funny! Loved the game! Keep it up!

mr-houdini 2017-08-19 12:42

Great experience! I'll give you a 5 star audio rating just for the efford of recording all that stuff, real fun. Since it is a 3 days game there isn't much to say. I'd love to see in the future another mechanic implemented such as more interaction with the other players. Great job, good luck!

galaxstudios 2017-08-19 12:43

The controls are perfect and the particles good and sound effects hilarious. Keep it up!

This is a compo game ? Wow, amazing job ! Fun game, with awesome graphics, the gamplay is very smooth, i liked

conk 2017-08-19 13:48

I decided to try it with the old controls and after a while, they weren't so bad, got really quite into and made 54 rockets. Honestly, I usually don't mind voice FX, but after a while they started to sounds a little odd, like my truck was a Zombie, or something. Umm, balance wise it felt like a constant struggle until a big batch of energy appeared and suddenly I was at a constant 20+ fuel with it slowly dripping down, was still fun, but the pattern got a bit repetitive. Perhaps player versus player would be a lot more interesting as you're more likely to engage in knocking the enemies about and stealing their fuel.

Graphics are nice and consistent, but I did find issue with being green as the colour on the minimap is almost the same as the yellow energy which made it hard to distinguish how much energy was floating about my rocket base thing. It was easier to tell them apart in game, just a little annoying if your too far away to see them. Anyway small gripe, nothing big.

Okay I've waffled on way too much, great game! Really enjoyed it :grinning:

captain-laserstorm 2017-08-19 13:52

This game is fun! However, it was pretty easy. Perhaps less fuel capsules should spawn the longer the game goes on? Btw, I love the sound effects. XD

hadrien 2017-08-19 15:11

Very nice graphics and sounds are funny, the game is cool too, it'll be cooler if there were more interactions between the players. Great job!

sma 2017-08-19 18:34

Good game, liked everything about it (played the jam version). Really cool how the fuel capsules bounce around in the back, making the game feel kinetic and tight. Awesome sound effects, I prefer the same ancient technique myself (though with a bit more post-processing : D). Gameplay felt a bit easy. If you added multiplayer and something to break up the monotony (enemies or powerups perhaps) this could have some real potential. Great job with the game, good luck!

timps 2017-08-20 11:19

This was a lot of fun, but got repetitive fast. I got up to 37 rockets launched. The controls were smooth, I really liked that they stayed with you, so it was always truck left not my left.

Graphics were beautifully done, and the first time I power slid around a corner and lost half the load of fuel won me over. Beautiful touch.

I think a few more obstacles to avoid, and some power ups or other game aspects to change the speed/game cycle from being an endless loop.

IT's a lot of fun to play as is, and really well done for a weekend worth of effort. Huge props for the audio. The music suited it really well.

brazmogu 2017-08-20 14:25

Dang, this game is very fun and fluid, this could make for an excellent multiplayer game on Steam! :D It could really use some improvements to the difficulty, and maybe actually have some way to get in your opponents way. But other than that, it's really good in its core, and that's what really matters.

One plus: I really like that the fuel is freely moving, so you have to take care about not spilling it when the truck is full. That's great!

blueman 2017-08-20 14:30

This is quite fun. I played until 77 rockets until I got bored and stopped. I played the original compo version, so you may have already done this, but there is one thing I would recommend: A difficulty setting. It wouldn't be hard, maybe rockets take more fuel and launch more frequently. Perhaps it would also be interesting if there was a game mode where the other 3 A.I's could run out of fuel, and you have to be the last truck standing. Overall, very well done.

yuigoto 2017-08-21 06:20

Great! I played this for a long time! Until I got to 80 or so rockets, but stopped because there's no rewards. The visual style of the game, the sounds and controls are really great to me, and worked quite nicely here! I loved the concept, and I can totally imagine this as some kinda time-limited, battle-type, multiplayer game! :D

Great work overall, good job setting up the mood, +1 for the vocal sounds there! ;D
