Interesting start of each stage having to destroy asteroids in order to get more bullets. That concept has potential, especially when you have to dodge things during that time, making it feel like a bullet hell (a good thing). Keep up the great work!
I couldn't click start on the web version. Re-spawning creates more asteroids, to the point that I would instantly die.
@peachtreeoath Thanks! I am very proud of this one. Second time making music and first time making my own 3d models :)
@Isaac-plunkett Thanks for the info. I think I know why that's happening and I will fix it right now.
I like the effect at the start, like warping through a wormhole or something. I had an issue when I lost all lives and restarted, the asteroids from the previous attempt remained so when that happened a few times the whole screen was filled with asteroids and couldn't really play. But otherwise its a fun attempt at the the theme. Great job!
Asteroids, eh?
Bog-standard Asteroids, eh? Where's the gimmick?! (fuel running out doesn't count, everyone has that now!). It is hard to get excited about Asteroids in the year 2017, it really is.
Do think about additional mechanics. Here are a few for free: Force push asteroids into each other, a slow-mo field, a grappling hook to use an asteroid as a wrecking ball, teleportation ability, homing missiles, stuff like that.
Solid work otherwise.
Nice Asteroids, I like the graphics and particle effects! I found the following issues: bullets are hard to see, shoot sound is grating, my ship disappeared once when wrapping around, when I cleared the screen nothing happened.

I liked the particle effect and the asteroids
When I got out of the screen I've not been able to get back in
Pretty hard to play but a good concept even if its just an another "asteroids clone".The style of the asteroids looked very well done and i liked the music/sound
A few minor things however 1) after i used up all my bullets first time not knowing i needed the asteroids for bullets i just had to destroy myself over and over because a span did not give me more bullets. 2) when i died and restarted my ship was nowhere to be found i had to refresh the page

I am horrible at asteroid games yet I won.... basically by standing in my place, shooting any asteroids that seems to be coming my way, the after I collect enough power, I warp. The game was fun though and the art was good.

So, as most people said, it's basically Asteroids, and it's pretty solid and nicely executed, save from a few caveats: - Wrapping works on left/right, but going up/down my ship disappeared and I couldn't get it back on the screen; - The asteroids keep piling up on the game screen, making further attempts to play, after you die, really difficult; - The shots are too small, and I could barely see them; - Where's the fuel bar? I could only see my power bar and didn't get when I should warp;
Also, you need to give it a bit of a twist, like a different mechanic for asteroids, escaping, something different (power ups?).
Besides that, good work with the project! It plays nicely and it's pretty solid, controls also work nicely too! :)
Asteroids is a classic favorite of mine, so good pick for a jumping-off point! I liked the look of the game (though the ship maybe could have used a little more work), and the sound did it's job too. Overall, I was confused if there was more to it... I started with a full energy bar, and didn't seem to be able to 'warp' no matter what I did. I basically stayed at full power the whole time, and eventually died from collisions. Overall, I thought it was a well made Asteroids game, but I was definitely craving something more. Thanks for building this for the jam, and keep up the good work!
I haven't played a Asteroids in years, last time must have been my own entry for LD. This one was much better though. It was hard to see the bullets though. And sometimes I didint respawn on the other side of the viewport. But other than that it's a pretty interesting take on Asteroids.

Love the idea of waiting for the ammo! I included it in my Ludum Dare 39 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMCKWv94MN0
