Interesting, it took me a while to figure out. You may want to make a detailed tutorial

kappalite 2017-08-02 05:05

Nice game , the idea is good needs a bit more work tho

spice135 2017-08-02 11:21

Nice game, I guess. You should make a tutorial... Also it needs some work :)

repusv 2017-08-02 11:31

Being able to push the enemies away is was very fun x)

I wish there was more work put into the game. Whole concept is quite fun and it follows the theme very well but there are numerous problems. First of all the placement of buildings is rather unintuitive as it seems to be based on an offset grid. If that's the case, what do I need the cursor for? Second of all there are some bugs with enemy AI, they often march off into the distance in a random direction. It would also be good, if their spawn point was marked on the map. With these issues fixed and some minor balancing it would be a solid game.

In desperate need of tutorial (or, at least, list of all controls, not just movement ones). Plus, defences are a bit pointless, as player can just push aliens away from the base without taking the damage. In fact, I was having way more fun pushing enemies away, than building turrets and mortars. Maybe, you should have designed the game around that

Really fun! Great graphics and solid gameplay, though maybe a bit easy? The enemies only appear on the right, so I planted turrets there and plopped generators at the left, and it seemed my game would last forever, so maybe the AI could have a bit of diversity? Also, it doesn't feel much open world since there is only one place to defend... An other thing to consider is how we place the towers: why not use the cursor? The music feels a bit repetitive after a while, but I can't judge that yet ;) Overall solid entry! A few technical issues, but you did a good job! Also, pushing the enemies is really satisfying! Made my day! Looking forward to a post-jam version. Recorded some gameplay, can I upload it?

daniel-kartafla 2017-08-02 18:47

@fusionnist Thank you for your nice words! You are absolutely right, enemies should spawn on multiple locations and the cursor should be used for placing turrets. Our game also lacks a tutorial, like many pointed out. But we lacked time during the jam for those things. However, we do plan on improving the game and releasing a post-jam version. And of course you can upload recorded gameplay! :)

It takes me a while to figure out what to do. It's not good balanced. The music was sadly realy anoing :( But it is a nice idea and little game. Well done.

Update: vid will be live here: https://youtu.be/qRZ67KLvWnE Sorry it's kinda bad, as I explain in it there were lots of key factors to recording I missed...

A faux 3D tower defense game. Interesting idea, the controls are somewhat weird, and in the end it's still just tower defense.

Still good work and kudos to you, even though I totally suck at this game. :) Would love to see different kinds of games with 2.5D/faux 3D view.

rialgar 2017-08-10 23:02

Nice concept, but the balancing is off.

After I figured out the controls I just built a solid wall of turrets which kept me alive as long as I cared.

Interesting tower defense game. The only things I can think of to add would be mouse placement of towers (the current technique where it's always in the green square is a bit awkward), and steadily increasing difficulty to prevent the game from reaching a steady state.

crown-games 2017-08-16 04:26

I'm gonna be completely honest, I couldn't figure out the controls no longer how long I played. The music was on point, as were the graphics, but I feel like a tutorial would've been extremely useful.

I'll have to give this one a 4/10. Sorry.

thefudster 2017-08-16 17:22

I think you and I had the same game idea! This is very similar concept to what I did for my jam. It took me a bit to realize that I had to actually move to and pick up the gears. The building placement control felt a bit odd for me but other than that it's well executed. I had fun playing. Good job!

yuigoto 2017-08-18 06:18

The concept looks fun and nice, took a bit to get how to play and how things worked, but I managed to build and survive a bit! The graphics look friendly, kinda abstract, but friendly, nice and accessible, like a tower defense I could really play with children (and have'em learn what TD is). The soundtrack sounded a bit too repetitive, but it kinda helped create more of a friendly mood for the game. :)

It still needs a bit of polish, though, like controls and some balancing. But Good Job! ;D
