Although the concept isnt the most original THIS GAME IS FANTASTIC, i love the retro design and everything about it. Can i ask how you made the music, especially in such short of a time?
Its not my kind of game but its definitely quality, the instructions could definitely be improved though
The game is pretty fun and i think the concept is pretty cool. The instructions being text on the floor is pretty bad though, and i think it would feel a lot nicer if the boost had some particle effects or you actually had immense speed when doing it since it is limited
Cool little idea for a game and its super fun to play despite the limited nature of the game.
i think this game is super fun and a really interesting take on chess. I might just be me but at first the tile pictures were pretty hard to make out, other than that its great!
I love what you did with the theme, the "game play loop" idea is pretty funny. I can see a lot of potential with the idea too and given more time you couldve gone a whole lot of directions with it. As it stands its still great and unnerving having a demon chase you around and i am VERY impressed with the amount of combinations youve been able to implement in such a short time
I general like the retro aesthetic, but i think the background was a little too busy and made it hard to see the small enemies as well as the bullet particles. The music and general sounds are pretty good especially with the little experience you have. In general i think it a fun! game held back by the busy-ness of the background (but im sure you know that already lol). GOOD LUCK ON FUTURE MUSIC STUFF
I love vertical shooters and this is a good one of those!, i love the map art and ui especially! no sounds though :( and its not the most creative thing for the theme sadly.
Very tedious having to repeat from the start of the game on death. Other than that very well done! The art design and sound was wonderful
Its a pretty neat idea, it can get kinda frustrating when you run out of momentum
Fun idea for a tower defense game, last level was definitely the best, the more hectic the better i suppose
I love the art style (and its really well done!) and the game play is simple yet super fun. I like that the enemy shots arent 100% accurate because it allows for the threat of enemies to scale with the number of them One of the sounds (i think the footsteps) only played in my left ear. Other than that its great!
I was actually thinking of doing something similar, but i dont think i wouldve gotten it as polished as this. Despite it being unfinished there's something super satisfying about the movement. It had mad potential
The game looks great and has a nice aesthetic. Not the most original idea though
I think the game is pretty fun and has good potential. However the ship is so big that you dont stand any hopes of being able to dodge enemy attacks so it feels that you just have to tank the shots. Also why limit power ups? I think having them be unlimited is more generous to weaker players and can get pretty fun later on.
If you move to the left the enemies dont attack you
I really enjoyed the graphics, i think you really nailed the old school Dos looking screen, other than that i think Votron (person above me) nailed the critique and would love to see those types of features added, at least moving the swapper from tab to j or something, having both hands on the keyboard
i love the fact that you can lose ships, it makes you press the buttons in new interesting orders. You could counteract it getting easier the more ships you lose by adding a small time between attacks that really only hurts you when you have 1 ship. Also i think being able to move all of them even when theyre not active would be good because if you fire too quickly they might get stuck pointing the same direction. All in all a great concept thats really fun!
I love the concept of the game and i think everything is pretty well done. I do think the sound effect was a little overdone. I think your strong suit is definitely the emotional / descriptional dialogue because the actual inter character dialogue i find to be on the weak or generic side. All in all a wonderful experience.
I love the little characters art styles and the musical tracks and sound effects are downright brilliant for this game. I think the restart is actually fine because you can just mash through the captains dialogue.
This is fantastic, simply fantastic. Digging around through all the files is such a blast. I love the mini puzzle element based on discovering what to do next. The minigames all worked too, the file sorting one probably had to be my favorite though because of just how mundane it was but the duck / goose taking away the cursor was a blast (though i feel that one went on for a little too long). 10/10
I like that if you hold up/down you can go directly into going left/right while still holding up/down, but this doesnt work the other way around which kinda sucks cause it makes moving around a little stiffer. That being said the rest of the game controls great and i love the pixel art you did. The characters walk cycle looks crisp and exploring a changing level always feels pretty cool.
The creepy noises actually add a whole other layer of creepiness. The particles are pretty well done too. Most importantly the balancing feels very very nice.
crashing at high speed is the most satisfying thing in the world. The hook mechanic / physics work extremely well in this game too. The sound effects fit really well in. The only thing that this is missing is some chill music and a non static map(items can travel across screens).
The camera controls feel nice and the block physics are pretty nice, (they arent too heavy or too light and the gravity feels right etc). The environment art is a nice touch that gives the game more visual depth too.
The pixel art is fantastic and the story is pretty funny too. Im really surprised with the amount of levels that are in the game too. Only downsides is no music and the sound effect is a little grating after some time. Also the jumping is a little finicky on corners. But overall pretty great!
I really like the graphics, the background is slick and the character design and animations are clean. Idk if its part of the game but its not really clear what induces depression or anxiety, if it happens after a little bit of time or due to some environmental thing. But overall its a good platformer with really nice controls / movement physics.
The atmosphere is actually great, the fog and the footsteps really create that ominous feeling. Btw i love the launcher before the game actually opens, having resolution settings changeable before going fullscreen is always super nice for compatibility
This is a cool idea for a game. I think the main problem is that i dont really know how wind works with a sail :\ though i did kinda figure it out. I think the graphics are pretty nice too and the wind sound is nice, its always a little hard to find a good one that doesnt get annoying
Pretty fun game! I love the audio clips but they get a little old (but it guess thats how it is for every strategy game). The ai is also pretty good and i was actually having a good time playing against it.
The bomb throwing is fun and i like the variety of bombs there are. It doesnt feel like the progress though because your bombs get replaced not altered
I think the concept is pretty good and i like the environmental graphics. The movement is pretty crisp as well. I think the font choice for the menus is pretty bad though and i dont really like the arm models. The fov also seem to be doing wonky stuff when i slide down slopes.
The black whole effects are really read and i love just how many levels there are. The time slowing down mechanic felt really really crisp too.
The art is really nice! The story is pretty funny too (and the strength minigame was a cool touch). I do agree with other people that the items were a little too small, maybe you couldve gave them a border or something.
I really love the hand drawn looking art style and it really works. Im too young for games like kings quest, but i imagine they would have the same vibes as this game. The music changing between the sections and with the interaction with the rock is absolutely rad too. With more time it couldve been super duper sick. As it stands its still sick.
Its a fun little game to play through! The use of sound effects was also very nice because they both sounded good and werent used too much! Id say the only problem is with the empty tiles, they look too busy, maybe a more subtle color difference or leaving them completely gray couldve helped out a lot.
I love the goofyness of the game and the animations for crying and slapping hands they are done really really well.
This game is super polished for 72 hours, the dialogue looks crisp, the visuals are nice, and the lighting/effects are done pretty well. Of course its not the most original idea though it was done really well and thats what counts. Nice music choice too, it fits well enough.
The visuals and music are just sublime. I just have no one to play it with :,( the concept and everything is really cool though.
Its are really funny interpretation of the theme
Like the other comments have said, you really nailed the dungeon crawler feel with the pixel art. The animations in particular were freaking rad. Kinda sad that there was only one level but the level that was there was actually really nicely designed. My only problem is that the teleport doesnt really fit in compared to the other offensive abilities, just feels like a weird inclusion. Oh yeah the line pointer thing looks really nice.
I really like the idea of the game and i think it was done pretty well. I really like the music too and the sound effects for the typing and the text to speech were good too (sometimes that stuff can get annoying bu here it was good). I was sad that the text to speech didnt match the words though.
I think this is a really good idea for a game and i think the music and visuals are great. Just wasn't really sure how the balancing mechanics really worked (if the buildings effect anything at all or if its just the people). Regardless its still pretty good
The dialogue was fun and the music is grand
Pretty fun game, i dare say its like 1st person among us without the imposter lmao. I like the particles effects and models and everything looks really nice.
I love the art style and the music is pretty rad too, wish there was a loss screen or something though.
3D pool is a super fun a unique idea. I think the simple visuals are more than enough for the idea of the game. Im a little sad that there is no sound or music though. Im also having a little trouble with shooting the ball, its not detecting my movement forward or something, though that might just be me. Either way, I think its a wonderful idea that is tons of fun.
