Oct 6 23:24:10 Witch's Cauldron ♥ 1 The idea is cool, and props for doing it all in Unity in 2 days. The controls were hard to master, as I couldn't get close enough often times to the frogs. Maybe some sort of easing/slowing of the broomstick if in proximity of the small stuff? :) ld45_db-001.jpg
Oct 6 23:35:28 11m 18s Symposium ♥ 1 This would be awesome with online multiplayer - I sadly don't have enough (any) friends local to play it with, so just messed around. A cool concept. Like the modifiers, especially the colour bomb. ld45_db-002.jpg
Oct 6 23:48:33 13m 05s Head Chef ♥ 1 I didn't manage to figure out what I was supposed to do , and I struggled with collecting stuff, but the graphics are pretty cool, would be cool to see a version with the small niggles on the collision ironed out. ld45_db-003.jpg
Oct 7 00:25:24 36m 51s Pit Fight ♥ 0 Pretty cool, would be good to have some footstep sounds or something to let you know you're getting close to the enemy. As @iozsaygi said - arrow is best, no risk , unless the enemy grabs one too! ld45_db-004.jpg
Oct 7 09:50:08 9h 24m Ludum Dare 45 ♥ 1 Nice style with the isometric. Would maybe be easier with mouse/touch to tell player character where to go/mine, as it was a struggle with WASD, and trying to align with the drops to grab the loot / give to the alter. Bonus points for sound effects! πŸ˜ƒ ld45_db-005.jpg
Oct 7 21:25:39 11h 35m The Persistent Thief ♥ 1 Great ( and pretty grand ) concept for a 48h comp! Would be great with fullscreen/lock , as I kept smashing space and scrolling the page away from the game. 😦 Love the graphics and the mechanics, would be cool to stay ducked /rolling if holding R. ld45_db-006jpg.jpg
Oct 7 22:40:03 1h 14m You are Nothing ♥ 4 This is super fun and addicting! I just wish I could stay up longer to play. Great job on the gameplay, really enjoyed trying out the different spells, and encountering new enemies with new spells/attacks. Brilliant stuff! ✌️ Bonus points for the MS DOS font ASCII art! ld45_db-007.jpg
Oct 8 21:34:01 22h 53m Untitled Goop Game ♥ 0 This was fun, tricky in places where the unstick was a bit wild and unpredictable. The goo trail animation was well done. Great sound fx too. πŸ˜ƒ ld45_db-008.jpg
Oct 8 22:29:41 55m 40s From Nothing ♥ 0 A nice start, like what you did with the automatic path finding. RMB / LMB / '1' Key was a bit confusing, and the scythe swing could be a bit more aggressive. Like the lighting style and the devil creatures. I'm always impressed when people build anything remotely beyond capsule / cube art as a s solo dev in Unity! Bonus points for the death sounds. πŸ’€ ld45_db-009.jpg
Oct 8 22:41:40 11m 59s Free Will ♥ 1 Great concept, and love the colourful graphics. If the JJ abrams style flare is toned down , and the camera inertia is tightened up / smoothed , this'd be a a winner. πŸ˜ƒ I got stuck on the below lovel when I placed a bunch of platforms under the spawn point. ld45_db-010.jpg
Oct 8 23:09:18 27m 38s Trashquest ♥ 2 This was super fun. Took a while to figure out I needed a 'body' piece to pick up weapons, so maybe an entry level one at the beginning would help get into the action quicker. Great sound , graphics an humour- would be cool as a mobile game too. Keep it up! ld45_db-011.jpg
Oct 8 23:20:17 10m 59s Press Start For Nothing ♥ 1 Great stuff, bonus points for what I think was a BlackAdder reference in there , and for the general Doug Adam's style story telling. ld45_db-012.jpg
Oct 8 23:38:37 18m 20s FUTHARK ♥ 0 Amazing stuff! I'd love to see a video of Ragnarok ahah, my PC crashes the window when I hit the button. A sub-division surface, like Mudbox/Z-brush work, with adaptive / non-linear tesselation would be cool, so the mountains etc could have things like overhangs / caves etc. ld45_db-013.jpg
Oct 9 20:37:26 20h 58m Untitled Sandbox Game Where You Throw Sticks ♥ 1 This is very impressive, even more so that it's JS! Holy moly. The controls felt familiar and the tree smashing was fun. With a bit of finess, this'd make a fun mobile / multi-player game. Whenever I LMB clicked it kept selecting the text - if you do a post-dare version, I'd maybe do it within the canvas and not as a separate HTML element ( same for the scrollbar on the inventory to the left ) ld45_db-014.jpg Add some pictures to your post and your game dude, this should get way more views!
Oct 9 23:54:47 3h 17m KillWizard ♥ 1 This was both hilarious and challenging. Would suggest - if you plan to continue post-dare, to snap the arm to the nearest 5' or something, as it was a struggle on some parts where the wizard wouldn't go in a cardinal direction. ld45_db-016.jpg Bonus points for a wizard theme. πŸ˜ƒ
Oct 9 23:56:46 1m 59s Wizard's Hazard ♥ 1 I think your link is broken? The itch.io says "404 We couldn't find your page" . πŸ—Ί
Oct 10 00:02:08 5m 22s Space trial ♥ 1 This is an amazing game - bonus points for doing a mobile first thing. The artwork is wonerful - I'd zoom in a little when it's just two characters, so as to show off the detail in the character design! ld45_db-017.jpg
Oct 10 00:09:40 7m 32s Refilltris ♥ 1 Didn't mean to post as annon! can't change it.
Oct 10 00:14:00 4m 20s John The Worm ♥ 0 Well that was an experience! I kept killing him too early and not knowing why. πŸ™ƒ ld45_db-019.jpg
Oct 10 00:22:18 8m 18s flue ♥ 1 What @gabriele said - would've been cool to see maybe a deck with the art style in the pdf, as a fully usable 'game' Not sure how to rate, but bonus points for an unusual submission type!
Oct 10 00:26:16 3m 58s Hard 2 Obtain ♥ 0 The animation was really cool for the seed, if you carry this on post-compo - actually showing the root growing would be cool. ld45_db-021.jpg
Oct 10 00:32:05 5m 49s Greta - The Game ♥ 0 Wasn't sure what was happening until second time round. Interesting music! ld45_db-022.jpg
Oct 10 20:00:15 19h 28m Inkblot Shade ♥ 0 Prety cool, liked the jazzy music. Would be cool to see a video on how you did the shader / fx. Don't know how transferable it is to Android etc, but would work well on mobile. ld45_db-023.jpg
Oct 10 20:32:49 32m 34s Kicked Out ♥ 0 Great job! Some of the lines were hilarious- don't want to spoil for others, so won't repeat. Loved the mixture of messed up pixel people, and the semi-realistic 3d environment. ld45_db-024.jpg
Oct 10 22:54:58 2h 22m Chroma ♥ 1 Wow this was super vexing ( in a good way ) - can see someone of Youtube doing speedruns of this. I won't give away anything, but this part was when things got real.. ld45_db-025.jpg
Oct 10 23:05:42 10m 44s An Error Occurred ♥ 2 Very cool - I like the development of the story and the slow revelation of things to mess with. On the part pictured, though it's a cool device to have the physical thing, being able to move the pieces with cursor/wasd would be less frustrating, as you can't look and move at the same time ( or maybe that's the challenge? ) ld45_db-026.jpg
Oct 10 23:17:23 11m 41s GODDAMMIT BOB, I TOLD YOU TO WATCH THAT DAMN HYPER CANCER! ♥ 2 This was fun, I didn't know why it was growing the way it was growing until the second or third go, I was just mashing keys randomly. It'd be cool if it had a little inertia on the iterating, so it carried on cycling after the last key-press. ld45_db-027.jpg
Oct 10 23:33:03 15m 40s Vr.Punk ♥ 1 Don't want to give the ending away , so I won't , but nice! Things got more interesting once the gun came into play. Great stuff, it's a bit like when Frodo puts the ring on in LOTR and sees the ghost world. Would be cool to see this development more. Lots of potential for puzzling / action. ld45_db-028.jpg
Oct 11 20:31:18 20h 58m Spooky: The one who lost everything ♥ 3 Fantastic job! Loved the pixel art, the music and the theme. Would be nice to see this developed post dare. I played the HTML5 version, so stuff like the dodging / timing was a bit more challenging. ✌️ ld45_db-029.jpg
Oct 11 20:43:50 12m 32s Necrofenser Hero ♥ 3 Wow, great stuff, love the voxel characters. I did much better the second or third time once I figured out I could resurrect enemies too. πŸ˜ƒ Didn't know if the command part did anything - I just set them to defend the stone. ld45_db-030.jpg
Oct 11 20:59:18 15m 28s Alone ♥ 1 Nice! Good to see another fan of the old Amanita Muscaria mushrooms! πŸ„ πŸ„ πŸ„ I think I 'won' - not sure if there's an end, or more to craft. Pretty fun. :) ld45_db-031.jpg
Oct 11 21:08:36 9m 18s Spread the Dead ♥ 0 Great stuff, would be cool to start zoomed in, then slowly reveal with a wider shot the extend of the zombie invasion, as more and more take over. I got a bunch hung up on walls, is there AI / Pathfinding? Would be good to add something rudimentary, if you carry on dev , post-dare. ld45_db-032.jpg
Oct 12 22:34:28 25h 25m Sugarship ♥ 0 Love the art style, great character design on the muffin enemies! Would have been epic with a bit of sound, but plays well regardless. The space/shooting would be helpful with auto-repeat. ld45_db-033.jpg
Oct 12 22:47:39 13m 11s Space Cell ♥ 1 Reminds me a bit of Captain Forever. ( Youtube link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJWs4m04Y0I ) The controls were a bit of a struggle between Mouse and WASD/Keyboard. If you develop beyond the jam, this could work well on just mouse , with the ship steering / shooting towards left click, then click/hold right to toggle build / collect mode . :) ld45_db-034.jpg
Oct 12 23:01:27 13m 48s Gardening Take Over ♥ 0 I blew up the cow a bunch of time after enticing him with parsnips, but he wouldn't die! 100% would like to see a full play-through video to know what happens with the mouth thing in the ground.ld45_db-035.jpg
Oct 14 19:28:49 44h 27m Dead on the move ♥ 0 Pretty cool - one thing if you're doing 'pixel' art though, is to keep the scale consistent , the weapons / vechicles and characters are all at different resolutions. If you're spriting - maybe lay them all out in the same image/document first, so they can all be upscaled the same. ld45_db-036.jpg
Oct 14 19:43:07 14m 18s Gargolite ♥ 1 Very nice, really dug the music and graphics. It'd be cool if the wand/staff increased in range or something, the more gems that were gathered. Bonus points for doing a decent tutorial from the outset to ease the player into the game mechanics. ld45_db-037.jpg
Oct 14 19:56:42 13m 35s Seedlings ♥ 0 Like the flowers and the music, very calming. :) I couldn't figure out if I was doing the wind thing right - maybe a more precise display of the influence of the wind would be helpful? Are some flowers always sad also? The yellow ones below never looked happy haha. ld45_db-038.jpg
Oct 14 20:03:30 6m 48s Start with "nothing" ♥ 4 Wow, this wasa surprise! I was about to close it , thinking it was just random words, but glad I didn't. Excellent work with the evolution / word play. Bonus points for the musical themes - the similar / related themes for the characters ( not giving spoilers ) were very well done. Great stuff. ld45_db-039.jpg
Oct 14 20:11:24 7m 54s HONK ♥ 1 Bonus points for humour, loved the animations / sprite design ( and the theme! ) . Would be awesome as a multi-player . 😜 ld45_db-040.jpg
Oct 14 20:31:37 20m 13s You Broke the Game ♥ 2 Wonderful graphics and music. I had to call it quits at this point, as I just couldn't master the wall jump. 😫 ld45_db-041.jpg
Oct 14 20:53:31 21m 54s TikTok Simulator ♥ 1 Bonus points for realism. This probably one of the most sophisticated and detailed Tik-Tok simulators this year. The constant barage of messages telling me my content sucks and to end it all was very realistic. The video recording times were a bit long, maybe a fast-forward button would be good here? ld45_db-042.jpg
Oct 14 21:08:56 15m 25s Entanglement ♥ 1 This should be getting way more views/plays! Super impressive for a compo entry with vanilla js! Great stuff! I'm not smart enough to make it past the level below. I sent everything offscreen. 😱 ld45_db-043.jpg
Oct 19 19:40:04 118h 31m VaultSmith ♥ 1 The theme is good, but maybe it was too great a scope for a 3 day jam. More enemies , and a less death=restart style would be cool. Since you die and lose everything and all progress, it quickly disincentivises the player. ld45_db-044.jpg
Oct 19 19:47:25 7m 21s adventure again ♥ 1 The style is interesting, though am not sure about the slow revelation of the level, or what mechanic that serves. Maybe having to earn the revelation/creation of an 'easy' route after taking a hard one, if the levels were larger and there were set restart points. ld45_db-045.jpg
Oct 19 20:12:27 25m 02s Nothing For Heaven ♥ 1 The level graphics were very cool, but a little animation on the main character would have made it more immersive. The music could have done with being a longer loop - it was cool, but repeated too quickly. Deffo if you work on this post dare, take some time on animation , the overall look / feel of the levels was pretty cool.
Oct 19 20:17:54 5m 27s Bob the Brawler ♥ 1 This was pretty fun, love the way the baddie heads look like they've been pounded into the ground. If there was continued development post-dare, would definitely say you could introduce some sort of puzzle element with the wall building. A puzzle/action arcade game. πŸ˜ƒ ld45_db-047.jpg
Oct 19 20:59:12 41m 18s HEI$T ♥ 1 Nice! Loved the theme, this could be a very cool 'idle' mobile game if you expanded out the characters you can hire, cities to go, bank security/defences etc. Very cool. ld45_db-048.jpg One thing on the money side, once you're above 10's of millions, the commas ( or ' depending on nationality ) to chunk up in bunches of three zeros would make numbers easier to read, or once past a million/billion , round up to the nearest million ? I crashe the browswer after hitting 1b. :) lssssffenubb.png
Oct 19 21:07:41 8m 29s Pile of Corpses ♥ 1 This was pretty fun, liked the mechanic of trying to pile up the bodies. It' be cool to see some evolution in the zombies too, so maybe, round or other shaped zombies that act/move differently to solve different puzzles. ( Floating zombies for water parts for example ? ) ld45_db-049.jpg
Oct 19 21:17:25 9m 44s Trashwars ♥ 2 Very cool, great concept. Very polished for the 72h. I wish the cannot flew further, didn't feel like it shot the garbage far enough across the screen. I got owned by the computer. ld45_db-050.jpg
Oct 19 21:34:29 17m 04s A Horse Called Nothing ♥ 1 This was hilarious to play, love the animation of the horse, and the movement method. ld45_db-051.jpg
Oct 19 21:46:36 12m 07s Mighty Mighty Bot ♥ 0 Great concept, and amazing level scope for the 48h compo! Was very challenging! Maybe some check-points, especially prior to getting the booster when it's slow to get around ,would be helpful. Trying to judge just the first part going under the jumping boxes was challenging. Bonus points for sheer scale though, holy level design for a 48 hour comp! ld45_db-052.jpg
Oct 19 21:52:27 5m 51s Osage ♥ 1 Beautiful art in places, but the movement felt really slow. Some enemies would be cool too. ld45_db-053.jpg
Oct 19 21:57:16 4m 49s Bonker Droids ♥ 1 Love the music! Great stuff, the characters were well designed, and the modular aspect was cool. A little finesse on the movement would be cool. It felt a little clunky turning. Maybe separate/lerp the camera so it's not rigidly fixed to character/rotation. ld45_db-054.jpg
Oct 19 22:03:20 6m 04s Memory Palace ♥ 1 I like the idea. I was thinking I'd be earning points for writing the story too haha. Would be cool to have a bit at the end comparing your picked symbol order vs the real order, and the 'story' text in that order too. :)ld45_db-0553.jpg
Oct 19 22:08:35 5m 15s NΓΌllptr ♥ 1 This was fun, loved the pixel art, and the epic sound/music. It's very tough ( even with the secret menu! ) Bonus points for a great UI and such a wealth of items / enemies. This is crazy insane detail for a compo! Mad props! ld45_db-056.jpg
Oct 19 22:37:06 28m 31s Absorb ♥ 1 I couldn't get to the end. :( Fantastic concept, and great work with the tutorial / intro - really great stuff with the story and slowly acquiring the skills. ld45_db-057.jpg
Oct 20 19:20:00 20h 42m Jumbo Throne ♥ 0 Great concept, really liked the art style and the ambient sound.. If you did work on this post dare, I'd change everything to mouse/touch control, and drop the wasd/arrows + space thing for the mower. From the first round being a loss ( I won, but with negative time ) - I just mowed everywhere I walked to collect the berries, as it had no impact on walking speed that I could tell. I guess the trash diving and dog walking weren't in this one, but it's a cool concept. Would actually be pretty cool as a mobile game, particularly if the movement is changed up ( the main character as path finding , no space/wasd as before ) Oh , and the race part could be really cool. If the more you earned , the better the peices for the cart, like red-bull soapbox race style! ld45_db-058.jpg
Oct 20 19:38:27 18m 27s First there was Nothing ♥ 0 Pretty cool - would be nice if you fleshed it out with some music / sound etc. Great concept though, I wondered what had happened to my fish after the third seaweed! 😧 ld45_db-059.jpg
Oct 20 19:59:05 20m 38s Palely ♥ 2 This is super cool, but sadly my specs are way below what they need to be to run it. I've rated graphics , innovation and theme based on what I could get working and what you've demo'd in the video. Props for the epic shader too! Great job doing a nice subtle effect that's way beyond the usual cartoony shaders out there (free or paid! )
Oct 20 20:18:08 19m 03s Mole Bass ♥ 1 Man this was great. Fantastic work with the music ( and the concept in general ). Would love to see more levels of this, with various rooms / music styles and enemies. ..And some animation of animals / rooms would be cool - maybe in time to music. ld45_db-061.jpg
Oct 20 20:30:17 12m 09s The beginning of the end ♥ 1 Great job with the whole hexagon based layout, and adding so much depth with mechanics and graphics in such a short space of time! If you were to carry on post-dare, would suggest swapping out arrow keys for a pathfinding / click target style movement for the player, as moving around the sections with 1 block thickness was quite laborious and took away from what would otherwise be a very unique puzzle game. ld45_db-062.jpg
Oct 20 20:47:37 17m 20s TidePool ♥ 1 Great art and theme for this one. I struggled with the climbing mechanic, which I'd stuggle with making work over a month or so, let alone three days. Epic work with the shaders, particularly the underwater effect. ld45_db-063.jpg
Oct 20 21:47:42 1h 00m Eleven Days ♥ 0 Bonus points for humour! Would've been more fun without the wipes , maybe if you were developing more, some alternate paths / decisions to make would be cool. Without any choices / free will, it's a bit like a slide show. ld45_db-064.jpg
Oct 20 22:18:20 30m 38s Bob ♥ 1 Great job. I was expecting to give it a casual spin and kept playing. I think the randomness of things turning up underwater, and finding something new/unexpected was the compelling part. AS other have said, it'd be cool to see a longer / extended version of this. πŸ˜ƒ ld45_db-065.jpg
Oct 20 22:34:32 16m 12s Tubizo and the Dark Detrimental Wizard of Chaos ♥ 1 The voiceover is hilarious and gave an extra level to the game. Cool puzzles, and great job on the level design. Am very impressed with this being a Compo entry. Bonus points for the bird sounds / death sounds. haha ld45_db-066.jpg
Oct 20 23:49:58 1h 15m Console >_ ♥ 2 This is fun, but I just got shouted at to go to sleep, so I have to end here. This'd be cool if you fed the evolving picture into something like they deep-dream python library to gradually eveolve the line drawings from one to another. Like this thing that takes line drawings and turns them into cats .. https://www.popularmechanics.com/technology/a25344/draw-your-own-nightmare-cats-with-this-ai-program/ Or ld45_db-067.jpg
Oct 21 20:35:28 20h 45m Claimbeer ♥ 0 Super impressive for a compo dude, really like what you did with the light effects. Graphics and music were neat. :) I got stuck after falling into the floor after gaining the bow & arrow. I think I got lost somewhere on the transition between rooms. ld45_db-068.jpg
Oct 21 20:56:46 21m 18s Sand&Sea ♥ 0 Very cool concept! I ran out of sand by the end - would be cool to pan or something, to gather sand from wider afield. So close! ld45_db-069.jpg
Oct 21 21:14:20 17m 34s ground zero ♥ 2 Great art, and love the colour transitions for the storm. Could be fun with more elements added, and maybe the storm deposits new junk as it passes ( I may do already but I didn't notice? ) Keep making more of this, it's quite unique! And what is the song in the shelter a spoof of? Sounds like Faithless or something , can't pin it! ld45_db-070.jpg
Oct 21 21:32:34 18m 14s RGB Zero ♥ 1 This was super cool! Really loved the graphics, the retro sound, and the colour addition/subtraction mechanic. I'd say if you were to continue developing, start with just primary colours, then maybe work up to secondary/tertiary, maybe. The boss was cool! Awesome job for a compo game, amazing creativity. ld45_db-071.jpg
Oct 24 20:48:28 71h 15m Epoch ♥ 1 Wonderful game, loved the evolution of the music along with the 'scale' factor. I reache galaxy level but couln't get further. Only minor thing was I found it a little hard to tell if my size was big enough to consume another object. Bonus points for doing all this in a web player version. Great stuff! ld45_db-072.jpg
Oct 24 21:11:35 23m 07s Greta Thunberg's Planet Converter ♥ 1 Hurling asteroids was good fun. ld45_db-073.jpg
Oct 24 21:42:37 31m 02s Hellion: The Legend of Jeff ♥ 1 It'd be cool to see a little more variety in the souls, and a larger harvest once you buy the soul portal things. Once you've got to building a few things, there's not much point in fighting any more. You can just sit your guy behind a wall of the cross-bows and wait it out. Great music , sound and graphics. If you keep working on this, more traps please! : ) ld45_db-074.jpg
Oct 24 22:24:34 41m 57s There was something here ♥ 0 Wow, I thought I was unfinished whenever I hit a wall, but keep nooldling aroun! Amazing work tying it all together - was not excpecting the depth of gameplay for a compo game! Congratulations and good luck. This was immense! This was #75 of all the games I've been testing, and probably the longest I've played! ld45_db-075.jpg
Oct 24 23:28:27 1h 03m I Forgot My Sword! ♥ 1 Great concept. I am too sleep deprived to manage to complete a level, great puzzling elements. The movement felt a bit wibbly, and some sounds would definitely spruce it up. index.png
Oct 24 23:44:36 16m 09s World Collector ♥ 1 Holy moley. Amazing work for a compo game! The style, the level design, the graphics and the epic music. Great job! I got stuck pretty early in, but am guessing things that are repeated ( boxes / lifts ) all work in unison? This could definitely be expanded more post-dare! ld45_db-076.jpg
Oct 25 20:39:56 20h 55m Unlock Everything ♥ 1 I'm amazed this is a compo game, did you sleep at all! 😱 Top marks for Music , Theme and Overall! Glad you had up for jump too - Shift glitches out on windows - ld45_db-077-a.jpg I made it to then end ! πŸ˜ƒ Great music, nice to see the breakdown of the tracks, and what feeling was going for in each one. AGain, I dunno how you crammed this all into a 48h Compo! ld45_db-077-b.jpg
Oct 25 23:40:31 3h 00m Subject 11 ♥ 0 Epic fast paced gameplay, with a smooth learning curve from the outset, though I got stuck on this section. ld45_db-078.jpg Very cool button smasher, and props on the music! πŸ˜„
Oct 29 20:21:52 92h 41m Totally Safe Space Systems ♥ 1 Pretty cool - with some epic 3d/isometric style graphics / spaceman guy/ rover this'd be cool. The mechanic of the fuzzyness of the scan was cool. I kept running out of oxygen though. πŸ—Ί ld45_db-079.jpg
