This game was really fantastic, it touched me in a way I didn't think any game would. I got really sad towards the ending and actually felt real anger towards the humans. Fantastically done, you might should've let the player have a little big of a bigger play area and play for longer before the humans came so that the player got a stronger attachment but even though how short it was, I got really attached to them. So well done. The only complain might be that you couldn't press ESC to deselect any tree and that the music could've had a smoother transition when it looped (the loop was long enough that it didn't bother me though). Really well done! The music was also good fit with the game, the graphics was good and the controls was intuitive, click -> click.

Really makes you think.
My beautiful forest!
Great work, I think I started off too slow, taking my time to find the closest to the edge when I should have been spamming those trees as much as I could.
Keyboard shortcuts for the trees would make my forest a much more impressive place.
Wow, now this was a super fun game to play. The rush of staving off waves of humans harvesting the trees and the calm periods of rebuilding once the waves died down all felt fantastic. Overall beautiful creation, well done!
Love this kind of game. Agree with what someone said about shortcuts to the different trees for ease of play. It was pretty inevitable that the humans would win but I still kept going! We need more games like this :)
I continued playing the game and I think I might've broken it, there doesn't seem to be any humans and there is no space to place more trees... Haha gotem! (the humans that is) Screenshot_1.png

@logflames reallly thanks you for saving planteria! Did you got that heroic title? We now work on cycle replay and keep fighting for planteria even we only have 1/14 million changes to surrvie!
Very beautiful game, i love the graphics and the music fits perfectly. I was not really able to develop a good strategy, i mostly just spammed trees. THe only thing i tried is to place the self-repeating trees farther back. 3600 AD my last tree fell. In the progression, it started very flow but the i got many tree types rapidly, with little time to read. Maybe you could introduce new tree types with an event popup and explain them there while pausing? Keyboard shortcuts would be amazing for this - if you implement them, i'll try again :D Really good game, it's also cool to watch the little guys go to work :D
ah, had to try one more time anyway, made it to 4400 :D
Nice.
Nice. :)
Really interesting how the modernized humans still always keep a row of flowers outside their colonies.
I also think it's really interesting, playing it again and only planting a single tree ever. After cutting it down, all the humans simply stood there doing nothing for all time.
One of my favorite in this LD so far!

I lasted until 3500 AD... This game gave me an epiphany, realizing what we, as humans, do to our planet, despite me already knowing this. Amazing game! It makes me want to vote "Nature" for the next theme.

i love this game but now hate beeing a human... :D :D
What a beautiful game! The music perfectly accompanies the atmosphere of the game. In the beginning it is very reassuring to watch the trees grow until you panic and want to protect nature from humans. Unfortunately I didn't succeed, but it is so much fun to watch the hustle and bustle that I like to try it again and again. :)
I made it to 4700AD :)
It's a great game! Really nice interpretation of the theme, no bugs, nice graphics and sounds. One of the best games I've played here so far :)

Wow. It really made me cry at the end! I took it so emotional, loved the calming audio and graphics, don't like people in this game:D I will surely try again to win this game, really impressive job, one of the best games i played on LD.
Wow. This game is AMAZING. All what is said through the systems is just marvelous. I love it! The mood was just perfect, and the feeling of covering all the history of life on Earth is just great. Love how you losing means also death for your oppresor: humanity. Really, really good. Congratulations!
Wow really graat game! Makes some1 think about the poor forests these days. A winning condition would be nice, like if you grow like 95% of the map you win the fight against the evil humanity. But anyway really awesome game you get addicted to this planting very fast.
Keep it up!

Everything in this game fits perfectly. Simple controls, polished pixelart, relaxing music, good balancing of the game, very accurate interpretation of the theme.
Probably one of the best games I have tried in this ludum dare, congratulations.
Amazing game <3, I loved the whole style and mood in it, and the way it gives the message. Thanks for doing games with purpose!!!
I loved this! The audio creates the perfect mood and the game is a perfect metaphor of human greed towards the environment. Gameplay-wise, it's fun and easy to get, despite no tutorial or whatsoever. Well done!
It's kind of a pain to have to keep clicking back and forth between the seed bar and the field, but besides that, it is a great, polished, balanced, inspiring game that adheres well to the theme, causes one to ponder their life decisions, and stands out in the crowd.

Beautiful work! Absolutely loved playing it. I didn't make it though, sadly. The visuals are great and the audio fits in place. What a creative way to look at the theme. Super fun to play and it makes you really think our actions in the real world.
Damn humans camping in wait to cut down my beautiful forest...
Great entry! Very good job!

Thank you for play our game! @nico-fallosch. We already have a winning condition but we will consider your idea.
And for comments about keybinds shortcut to growing tree faster. Thank you all for your comments when you guys put some little time to write it down. We have the same question about that function. But in the end, we decide to keep it simple because the system is not huge enough to deal with.
Also, the RealNature don't have any shortcut to growing faster, right?
Your game is... AWESOME. The music is very soothing and the graphics really cool. I didn't mage to beat the humans though :( Incredible entry, really liked it.
This game was beautiful! Thanks for making it! What a creative take on the theme!
This was really good. A really clever take on the theme, a simple core mechanic implemented really well. Lots to like about the UI, art, and music/sound effects. It had a good level of polish and balance and just the right level of challenge. I can't think of much that I would change about it really. Nice work! I hope you continue to make more games and come back for future jams!
Very nice take on the theme! Took me a minute to realize it was a new kind of tower defense. Good mood, good gameplay, good message. Good job, keep it up!

Really loved the concept and gameplay! The audio is soothing aswell! Amazing overall. I just wish at random points human would've nuked portions of the forests, or used lasers lol. Lovely nevertheless!

Beautiful game idea, really unique! Nice visuals and audio too. One thing I would change is pause the game when you unlock a new plant, so that you can read the description without losing time to plant.

I did not manage to go past 5020 AD. They just completely cut me down. :( good entry, great job!
Thats an amazing idea and interpretation of the theme. Really makes you think about our environment. Graphics look good, and it's well balanced. Thank you for this game!
I looove this concept. The graphisms are really cool and it's challenging. Good job. It's a zen game I want to play to relax myself
This game is awesome and very creative. My friends and I were tryna see how long we could last. Someone made it to 5020 AD. I gotta catch up!!
i really like the concept and mood if this game it also makes you think.
This is beautiful. Very well made. I like it. Discovered both endings. First time my trees have fallen very quicky, the second time I wiped out the humans 2060 AD, yes! :-D

Solid idea, great execution! Don't have time to leave a proper review, I'm off to protest deforestation.
It's a really great game, those annoying humans cutting down all of my trees! You said there was a second ending, but it seems like it is very hard to win from the humans.
Really fun game! pretty different and fun, though i wish i could pause to read the descriptions of the trees, it's kinda hectic and makes the player just spam trees without thought as fast as he can. other then that though? the graphics are awesome, the idea is great, i like the animations, it's all really good! good job

I absolutely agree on the idea of making a pop up for us to read the different types of trees. I was so intensely concentrated on putting trees down that didn’t know what half of them were all about. but honestly, I absolutely loved the idea of the game. good animations, good audio. it gets the point across and makes the player resent the humans. this game is a good advocate for spreading the environmental issue. hey, it's making me play it again :) so you've done something right there!

What a wonderful game! At first the visuals got my interest. Then, together with the sound effects, I got attracted by the atmosphere and started planting, as if it was a sandbox.
...And then humans arrive, you realise why every tree has a purpose and the game just becomes amazing. It has a strategic layer I really enjoy as a generally mechanics-oriented player, but what I loved the most was the connection you develop with the forest, how you really get to feel the need to protect it from humans, to plant faster and better than they can develop tech to mindlessly cut everything down (or rather than mindlessly, for greed).
It sure rings a bell, doesn't it? :/
This game reaches what any jam game should strive for, it feels wholesome in all areas. If I could point at any improvements...I don't know, perhaps it would be nice to have a bit more variation on the music as the ages pass, but I don't even mind the repetition right now; it feels relaxing and melancholic enough for me to keep listening.
Impressive work, congrats!!
PS: Looking at the screenshots of other players with their lush jungles I'm even more depressed now
I got to 4080, I was a bit unsure exactly what the aim was at first, but I realized at some point that the humans were slowly starting to fight back my growing forest. It was really enjoyable all the way through even at the point where the bulldozers were savagely cutting down the last few planted seeds I had as soon as they sprouted. Well done.

The other comments have said it - this game is amazing. One thing I didn't like though was the randomness - the result of the game depended on the initial set of plants.Great job making this! Loved it.

I must say i really liked the gameplay. It was just so relaxing! Good job on the graphic side too, i got really into playing it and discovering new species. Great job.
Not one of the most exciting games, but one of the bests. I love it so much. The graphics are wonderful. The music matches well. And protecting my forrest was such a nice experience. Truely one of the outstanding games in this game jam.

Loved it, I played it once, then came in the comment section to give my feedback, saw that it was actually possible to beat those filthy humans, played 3 times more. Still had fun. Great game, great art, great music, great mood <3 Would play it again if you were to update it later !
Very nice! I could only make it to 2300... Challenging and fun little game. Very well done overall :)
Awesome game and the best implementation of the theme I've seen so far!

Really nice! I lost the first time, but was able to grow enough trees the 2nd time around. Really well done- liked the mutations mechanic and there's definitely a rush to keep growing as humanity cuts everything down.

Such a great idea! Who would have thought that playing as a bunch of trees could be fun?? One of the most interesting and creative games I played! Thank you!
Really nice work. I made it to 3820 AD... played again but couldn't figure out how to unlock the other ending, or what I might do differently. Music is perfect.. reminds me a little of Chrono Trigger, which has some similarly sad themes. Keyboard shortcuts would be very nice, just numbers corresponding to the trees. Art is great, I really enjoyed the beauty of my forest and all the different plants. Very impressive, creating such an emotionally poignant mechanic!
