Oct 4 12:18:48 Don't Melt ♥ 1 Ambitious and fun! Considering how many things you have to balance, I might have made the character controls a little tighter - it's just one more thing to worry about right now. Maybe this doesnt even need to be a platformer? I could see this being fun on a touchscreen and just manually handling the dials. Really cool set of systems, and you really nailed the theme.
Oct 4 12:24:28 5m 40s Infiltration ♥ 1 lol, that was pretty simple but fun. I could have used a stronger visual clue when a server is in bad shape - maybe a spark when it is red, and a puff of smoke when it goes down. Fun little game though!
Oct 4 12:39:54 15m 26s Chevalchemy: A Hoof of Concept ♥ 3 That was extremely silly. Nice jam game! I think some goofy sounds could have helped the mood even more, but its a jam. The physics were super well-done!
Oct 4 13:30:16 50m 22s Silex ♥ 0 Nice! Would have liked more levels, but thats the compo for ya. We had very similar ideas of 3d platformers with unstable ground lol. I would come back to this for a post-jam version with more levels.
Oct 4 13:53:40 23m 24s We Are Typhoon ♥ 2 I have the same comments as @belthesar - the game is definitely most interesting when going for max casualties, but its a little easy to game the system right now. Concept is SUPER fun though - makes me think of Plague Inc. Great core concept, would love to see it expanded on.
Oct 4 19:39:39 5h 45m Unstable Runner ♥ 1 I played it! It could maybe use some optimization, framerate was really low on my moto g power, which is a decently beefy android phone. I liked the idea of a slower-paced auto runner with shooting! and it looks great! unforutnately with the low framerate it was tricky to play.
Oct 4 20:02:42 23m 03s Volatile Valkyrie ♥ 1 Really fun! and it has scoreboards!! I was a big fan. I thought the projectiles from bad guys were a bit much, but it was still really fun! one of my favorites.
Oct 4 20:08:49 6m 07s Stronkey Kong ♥ 2 Man, this game is such an excellent idea! Unfortunately, i found it pretty hard. i found money pretty hard to come by, and losing a big chunk of it was really aggravating, since the penalty is ultimately time in that you need to jump barrels to get more. That being said, its an amazing jam game. the intro cracked me up, and its such an excellent concept. I think the penalty for getting hit needs to be significantly reduced, however. Well done! Audio and graphics are superb here.
Oct 4 20:50:57 42m 08s Cross Over ♥ 1 This was a solid little game! I don't have too much feedback - the physics are a little wonky sometimes, and you do tend to get stuck on walls, but that comes with a physics game. This could really use more levels. Nice job!
Oct 4 23:22:54 2h 31m Quadra ♥ 1 Spectacular! This is the best game I've played so far. I have no feedback - its so fun! Actually, one thing - maybe be more explicit in your link to the game that it's playable in the browser. Downloads always discourage people from playing, and its not clear from your link that it is a web game. Maybe put a separate link for the binaries, but just send it to the same page. AWESOME! Well done!
Oct 5 00:18:53 55m 59s Infiniraft ♥ 1 I got old LCD game vibes from this. Very fun! I was able to hit diagonals really easily on my phone screen, so I could do diagonal moves in one go - this actually helped make the game more strategic - you might want to make it easy to do this with buttons somehow. Nice job!
Oct 5 12:05:01 11h 46m Demolition Mouse ♥ 1 This game looks great! Cute, readable graphics. I did find the slippery controls to be a little much - is really hard to control! Hurry, I also liked the dense level design - you got a lot of platforming and gimmicks into a small space! Fun game.
Oct 5 12:11:31 6m 30s Kattonauten ♥ 1 Beat it! 22 crashes. Lots of fun! It was definitely challenging, but it was short enough so that's ok. Nicely done!
Oct 5 12:19:36 8m 05s Meltdown ♥ 1 I second the need for a tutorial. I was pretty confused, and I'm a chemical engineer :p . That being said, it was really cool firing up the reactor, and performance was super slick in the browser. Great visual design, and all the effects really fit together well. It also sounds great. Really nice game overall!
Oct 5 12:53:19 33m 43s The Virus ♥ 1 Very creative! most creative game i've played here! The defragging was fun, and the goose really cracked me up. However, i really struggled with the defrag, and I didn't have it in me to go again when I failed. I think maybe doubling or even tripling the points you get per block, and cutting the time by a similar factor, would make the game a bit more reasonable. Very original!
Oct 5 13:13:32 20m 13s Death?Box ♥ 0 The theme and the graphics are right on point. It plays pretty well, but I agree that it could probably use to be harder. Nice job!
Oct 5 13:18:36 5m 04s Pigs ♥ 2 This was very silly lol. Extra points to you, because I have heard that pigs REALLY ARE very sensitive, and tend to get stressed out. This is exactly the kind of game I come to a jam for. Nicely done!
Oct 5 13:25:00 6m 24s Luna's Painful Pastel Promenade ♥ 2 Beautiful game. Looks and plays great. I actually would suggest doubling the speed of the game, or allowing the user to hold space to speed it up - theres no reactions in this game, so you can make it as fast as you want. It was funny when I fell down a giant pit, but I didn't have it in me to climb my way all the way back up. Well done!
Oct 5 13:30:23 5m 23s Enter the Ungeon ♥ 1 Cool game! Once i got the rules it was fun tricking the monsters. However, i couldn't really figure out how to not get hit - the monsters being able to move AND shoot in one turn seemed really tough. Is there a winning strategy? Still, cool job, and nice start to... lets call it an arena-rogue-like!
Oct 5 19:17:18 5h 46m Pile Up Medieval ♥ 2 I defited the beast! 10/10. Hilarious. Excellent mix of mashing click and strategizing what goes where. Loved it.
Oct 5 21:02:36 1h 45m Overloaded Server ♥ 1 I clicked the power button on the in-game tower and it turned the game off. Spectacular. 10/10.
Oct 5 21:11:08 8m 32s Grim Tripper ♥ 1 Very ambitious! I had a pretty hard time getting the scythe to hit properly, but it was hilarious when I did. I like how open ended it is. Really nicely done!
Oct 5 21:18:01 6m 53s The Eye of Glower-On ♥ 1 Nice! This was excellent, great premise and great execution. Fun to play as the bad guy!
Oct 5 21:28:10 10m 09s Renegade ♥ 1 This game looks fantastic and played really well in the browser! It would have been nice to see more scenery, but i get that its a jam. You really nailed the mood, and the music fit as well! Nicely done!
Oct 5 21:33:32 5m 22s Critical Mass ♥ 2 Simple and fun gameplay. IT is really beautiful though! Stunning effects. You really showed off some programming mastery to get that done in c++. Really nice.
Oct 5 22:03:48 30m 16s Volcano Containment ♥ 2 Fun game, but super hard. I only ever got one extinguisher. It was basically impossible to try and land on a rock that came out of the lava. Still, cool concept! I'm all for more grapling hook games!
Oct 6 12:12:53 14h 09m Sanity Is Reality ♥ 1 Cool idea! I like the idea of the physical game you are playing being secondary to a more strategic, cerebral idea. I didn't quite get what the gimmick to the gameplay was, though, since my physical health would loop back to full if it hit zero, and i could recharge my "sanity" just by touching the green spheres. I liked the idea, and the visuals were nice and cohesive. Nicely done.
Oct 6 12:18:22 5m 29s House comfort... ♥ 1 Cool game! I ended up clicking the phone pretty early after sleeping, so i didn't get to explore everything. It is a great concept, I would love to see it fleshed out and explained a little more.
Oct 6 12:23:38 5m 16s Cave Supply ♥ 1 Game looks and runs great! I really like the core concept, could use a few more wrinkles, like maybe the obstacles change. nicely done.
Oct 6 12:33:22 9m 44s Hopper Unstable ♥ 1 Nice job! A great start to a game. I think more levels would really help it out, right now its very very short. The graphics are excellent, and the visuals are nice and cohesive. Well done!
Oct 6 12:53:27 20m 05s Unstable escape ♥ 0 Cool puzzle game. I have not been able to solve the shape puzzle, and I don't really see any hints on how to do it. Might try again in a bit. Looks great! Everything is very cohesive. Nice job!
Oct 6 13:41:08 47m 41s Snake Using Windows ♥ 2 This cracked me up. "I can't believe I am running this on my computer" goes through my head as i do this lol. You really nailed the theme on the head. Very clever! So, you are using the info.txt as a global variable store, and writing to it every "frame"? That kills me lol. Nicely done!!
Oct 6 16:47:05 3h 05m It Crumbles ♥ 1 Awesome game! I agree with other posters though that the difficulty is too high right now. Without the tokens doing anything, theres no reason to shoot anyone, since your gun is so slow and enemies regenerate anyway. I think a better weapon would be good to at least let you defend yourself - if more than one enemy is on you your almost definitely gonna take a hit. Still, Love the toejam-and-earl way that verticality counts! Very cool.
Oct 6 16:55:37 8m 32s Last Fall ♥ 1 Great game, and nice job dialing in the difficulty! I was able to finish after some battles. Some of the early puzzles had me standing right on the edge of blocks to avoid spikes, and this felt a little like cheating. Game looks phenomenal as well. Well done!
Oct 6 17:01:03 5m 26s Stack Up ♥ 1 Reminds of an iphone game from way back, called "the incident", where you would climb an ever growing pile of trash. Your game introduces a cool addition though! really cool, and i enjoyed it. I think mapping jump to a button would have helped it to feel a bit less random. Also, maybe WASD + ouse so you could independently control the trash depositor? either way, very cool game! Looks and runs great too!
Oct 6 17:04:03 3m 00s Domino Traverse ♥ 1 Slick! I agree with other that the control interface is tricky. I wonder if they could be intuitively mapped to a gamepad somehow? I like the idea of asset management added to an auto runner! gives the game a lot more strategy. Cool idea and well executed! I think it looks great too - nice cohesive design.
Oct 6 17:10:55 6m 52s Monsters ♥ 1 Very cool! Even though you know what's happening its still scary - great use of audio and visuals! I wish it were longer. Still, very cool.
Oct 6 20:51:55 3h 41m Contact Nesigur ♥ 1 I love the overall package - the audio visual components hit the theme really well. Humor is also excellent. I struggled with editing the json - things werent really taking like i thought they would, which was a little frustrating. Still, you nailed the theme, and I enjoyed it.
Oct 6 21:07:57 16m 02s Raiders of the lost gems ♥ 0 This is the longest ive spent on a game here. Bravo! Puzzles were excellent. I got every gem, but am I missing something about the egg? Heartbreaking that I cant seem to get it. Great job!!
Oct 7 13:59:28 16h 51m Super Clumsy Box Galaxy ♥ 1 This was great lol. You walked a really fine line between "clumsy unstable controls" and still being responsive enough that it is fun to play. I really loved this. I had hoped to make something more like this but came up very short. This is great, excellent job!!
Oct 11 13:48:36 95h 49m B.A. in Animal Psychology ♥ 1 Fun! This was very funny. It was a little hit-or-miss having to replay conversations, but the game was short and you could really fly through the conversations very quickly, so it wasn't such a big deal. It might have been fun to have some branching conversation paths, but I get that there is only so much time. I love the whole package, everything really comes together to make a silly game thats a great jam entry. Sound was excellent! Voices and music both were great. I really liked this.
Oct 11 13:53:14 4m 38s Unstable Driving ♥ 2 lol, I agree that the transitions are a little jarring, but I think it actually made it fun, kind of like wario-ware in that the game very suddenly changes on you. The game seemed to do a good job of not dropping me right in front of a wall, so while the effect is sudden it never felt unfair. It would be interesting to have the car speed up as you get more points, since as of right now you can play infinitely as long as you pay attention. This was simple but fun, nice job!
Oct 11 14:02:56 9m 42s UNSTAckaBLE ♥ 1 That was simple but fun! I think it would have been cool to have different shapes, so you could be more strategic with how you laid out the tower (there is only so much you can do with cubes in a minute). On-theme. Nice job! Ran well in a browser.
Oct 11 14:09:02 6m 06s Rock Stax ♥ 1 This is an excellent entry! Really on theme, and the flourishes like the crane are great. I really struggled with the difficulty - collisions seemed to come in and out, so when it looked like i was safe, i would drop a block and it would bounce like crazy. still, excellent entry.
Oct 11 14:14:44 5m 42s PolitiGod ♥ 1 Surprisingly complex game! It also moves at a good clip, so playing again is not a big deal. I liked this, good job.
Oct 11 15:27:49 1h 13m Alien Disco ♥ 1 I liked it! SImple to pick up, and i liked the added wrinkle of getting a bonus for dancing in the right pattern. Well done!
Oct 11 15:30:17 2m 28s Ropy Woply Doo ♥ 1 Rad music! Gameplay was simple and fun too. I found it very challening - I couldn't even beat what I assume is the first level. Maybe a "save" mechanic might have helped? Either way, excellent OST and you are right on theme.
Oct 11 15:36:06 5m 49s Beep Boop Boba ♥ 0 This is extremely well-done. Nice job. I actually found myself getting pretty stressed out! The speed at which you can move is pretty intense - i might suggest actually making the steps take longer so that you have more to do while drinks are being prepared. Still, really fun and extremely well executed.
Oct 11 15:40:47 4m 41s Cloudfall ♥ 1 This is really well executed, but very challenging! I often found myself with nowhere to go. Still, I guess that is part of the planning and pathfinding aspect of the game. I LOVED the music, and having it change was really really cool. The graphics were simple but it all blended really well, and the color changes were subtle but really cool.
Oct 12 02:45:34 11h 04m Junta! Police State 1981 ♥ 1 Really cool concept, and you managed to flesh it out pretty nicely in a short time! I was pretty happy with the mission variety. I wasn't wild about the driving controls - I would have preferred something more like Retro city rampage, where you just point in a direction. Even so, i had a great time. excellent soundtrack too, it really helped set the mood.
Oct 12 13:42:46 10h 57m A Crumbly Planet ♥ 2 This game is very well-put-together; looks great and everything really meshes. I like the idea of the mechanic, but I feel like something is missing, since it feels a little trial-and-error right now. Maybe if you had sonar or something that revealed platforms close to you? It's a cool idea, i just think its missing a little somthing. Still, something very captivating and even creepy about earthquakes underground. Well-done.
Oct 12 13:54:00 11m 14s ....To the Ends of the World and Back ♥ 1 I really liked this! It was on the simple side, but thats the case with LD. Would like to see you expand on this concept in future jams, now that you got the execution haammered out. FWIW, playing on the browser worked well for me, once I figured out what was going on with the mouse. It was a little confusing to understand, but it worked just fine once I got it.
Oct 12 13:57:53 3m 53s Oopsie Potion ♥ 1 This was really well-polished! Looks great, and I love that I can use a gamepad! It was on the short side for sure - would have been nice to at least have a few levels to go through, but that's life. Well-done!
Oct 12 14:04:15 6m 22s Jampoblock ♥ 0 Nice game! I admire that you made something so long for the compo! I echo what others have said about the "e" key - I think you should just automatically pick things up and use them, since there is never a situation where you would not want to do those things. The mechanics were cool, since your puzzles didn't LOOK like normal platforming puzzles. It is really it's own thing. Nice job! I enjoyed this.
Oct 12 19:00:16 4h 56m Un-Named Stock Market Battle Simulator ♥ 1 I love what you were going for here. The look is great and humorous, and it is apparent that you wanted a card-game aspect. Would love to see this fleshed out in the future.
Oct 12 19:05:36 5m 20s Shipwreck! ♥ 1 I liked this! failure was never that bad, since it just results in a tiny penalty, so its not frustrating. I really enjoyed it! I know the sound was edited in later, but it was excellent! The gameplay hook was novel, and it made sense very quickly. Nicely done!
Oct 12 19:55:58 50m 22s Shiine ♥ 0 whew, this is hard. A bit too challenging for me! I really liked the mood and the theme, and the execution was great. Might have been nice to have a checkpoint system of some sort. Well-done.
Oct 12 20:52:16 56m 18s Structure Rescue ♥ 1 Gameplay-wise, this is my favorite entry so far. I really loved it! I do think the upgrades should maybe be a bit more effective - I didn't notice much change once i fully upgraded my gas mask. Also, it was heartbreaking to get a game over with a single civilian death, especially for such a long game. All that being said, i think the core mechanic is EXCELLENT. Loved the caving-in, loved the rush of it. Really well done.
Oct 12 20:56:24 4m 08s Equilibrium ♥ 1 I really liked this. Sounded great, ran well in the browser. It was a little sad to start from level 1 if you lost a single ball. Still, really cool. I agree with the control critiques of others. It might be TOO easy if you could use a mouse, but I think it needs some sort of adjustment. Cool, original game! Kind of reminded me of a whole game of the tilting puzzles in the new zelda game. well done.
Oct 13 12:43:08 15h 46m Tipsy ♥ 0 I really like this idea! It was a little weird that you kept going whether or not you made it (i never actually made it though). I loved the presentation though! It looks great, sounds great, and plays very well. Nice job!
Oct 13 12:47:23 4m 15s It's gonna fall! ♥ 1 A+ on the music and sound. I had an issue (maybe?) where the screen never scrolled up, so once i built up high enough i could no longer place pieces - this didnt take long. Cool concept though, and it runs really well! Nicely done!
Oct 13 12:54:52 7m 29s Sable Untangle ♥ 0 Tough one! but this was fun! i like all the ways you can interact with the creatures. The tutorial levels also did a really nice job of teaching the mechanics. It's a pretty novel puzzle game, so I don't know how you might streamline the controls, but I did find them a little clunky. This would make a great touchscreen game, and i bet it runs on mobile. Nice job with the raw js!
Oct 13 13:45:27 50m 35s Unstable ♥ 1 Nicely done! This game is really well-executed, and it plays great. I think it could have maybe used a few more wrinkles in the gameplay, since it mostly seems to be focused on stacking blocks 1 on top of another. I like the flying balloon - it streamlines the gameplay (nice for a jam!) and differentiates the game from other tower builders. Music was very funny - nice horns!
Oct 13 13:50:19 4m 52s SpiderJump ♥ 0 This game is excellent! Very cool concept, and the execution is pretty fun! The difficulty is sky-high of course, but it is still fun to swing around. It might have been cool to have a "Retract" button that would pull you along your web and shorten it - I found myself hitting the floor alot. Really cool game, very original idea. Nicely done.
Oct 13 14:01:04 10m 45s Tables & Tremors ♥ 1 I loved this - I love me some 3d platforming. The mechanics were really original! I did find it hard to aim at the tables - I am not great at 3d shooting, even with m&k, so I struggled quite a bit. Maybe a lock-on mechanic when your cursor is close to a table and you are in range, a la 3d sonic games? Still, i loved this one. Played great in the web browser too.
Oct 13 14:30:04 29m 00s AnoidBuild ♥ 0 lol, this game was really fun! I loved the immediate realization of what was happening after I hit the first block and i saw it slowly start to fall. Very novel idea and well-executed. I really enjoyed this one.
Oct 13 17:25:29 2h 55m Sanity Check ♥ 1 Nice job! I was able to beat it, which is always satisfying in LD. The gameplay was simple, but I still enjoyed it, and the flavor text really helped to create the scenario for me. In terms of accessibility, I am colorblind, and I had a really hard time with the green and orange pipes (1st and second that you get). I would suggest skewing blue-er when possible, as blue makes it easier to differentiate some reds and greens. Otherwise, i liked this lot. Nice job!
Oct 13 17:32:38 7m 09s Deleted Project ♥ 0 Great-looking game! Very polished, and I love fixed-camera 3d platformers - there are not enough of them. That being said, I also found the difficult to be quite high - i was basically unable to hit anybody with any consistency with my gun. Maybe an auto-lock for nearby enemies? Also, I don't see how the unstable theme fits in to this. Still, very ambitious for LD and it was fun to explore! Nice job.
Oct 13 17:38:53 6m 15s Bridge is Out ♥ 1 This was a fun activity! As others have said, maybe not all that challenging, but i had fun playing it. It's a really fun sandbox. I like how the robot tilts quite a bit but rarely (never in my case) falls over - gives the game a great "unstable" feel without being frustrating. Nicely done!
Oct 14 20:54:19 27h 15m Weather Control Device ♥ 1 I agree on the weather - the game looks great! And i actually had some fun with it, saw it through to the end - i appreciate you going on the easy side. Fun game, I enjoyed it. Would be interesting if the weather machine played in a little more.
Oct 14 21:06:11 11m 52s Wife Dono, Kouhai Kun, and The Unstable Machine ♥ 1 Great job! Gameplay-wise, this has been one of my favorites. I have a few nitpicks - it would have been nice to be able to jump out of the ghost-shooter, like you can jump out of the pacman game. I rarely use "X" when my left hand is doing WASD, so i frequently fumbled around while getting out of the gun. Jumping was a little finnicky, especially landing on the top pad - maybe that should have been a pass-through floor? I loved this though. I could see a game of this moving through different labs with different minigames. and the world-building was great. Nice job!
Oct 20 11:57:07 134h 50m AtomBurst ♥ 0 Nice little jam game. I really liked the whole visual presentation - the vibrating particles really sold the unstable theme. I also like how the particles act like health. I think the game takes a little long to really get moving - it got pretty fun around score 300, but it takes a while to get there - maybe have the difficulty ramp up faster? Nice job! and nice music!
Oct 20 12:10:01 12m 54s Meltdown ♥ 1 Great looking game! I also thought it played and controlled pretty well - would love to see gamepad support. I think the tower was supposed to be crumbling as you climbed, but I never really saw this (my time was 301). This would make a great proc-gen game. Nice job!
