| Oct 3 01:31:14 | BOMBA LINE | ♥ 2 | Fun! Can confirm - is very hard on mobile. I really like the explosions, they are a nice spin on snake and you balanced them nicely. Really fun! | |
| Oct 3 12:06:48 | 10h 35m | Sprint10 | ♥ 1 | Very cool! I love a good crash-style platformer. It's really fun, but pretty hard - I agree with others above that the lives system is a little discouraging. I do like how the whole game is one big level though. Can we get gamepad support?? |
| Oct 3 12:14:00 | 7m 12s | Near Death Sentence | ♥ 2 | Excellent sound! the music and sfx are just great. Gameplay was fun too! I get the feeling of a prison brawl from this. It's a little disappointing to get lasered - it happens so suddenly and then that's it. Still, it's really solid. Your AI is great too - I like watching the other guys get in fights and trying to survive. Really well done! |
| Oct 3 12:33:28 | 19m 28s | Hovering Bird | ♥ 2 | This was very clever - like @simplepotential i usually skip the tabletop entries but this was so easy to get into. That being said, I played two games and only got 3 checkpoints as my highest score - it seems that unwinnable scenarios arise very easily. It might be fun to put together a simulation and see what the average scores are. That being said, the fact that I am thinking about this game so much means its a really engaging idea! Your video was also super helpful. Well done! |
| Oct 3 12:41:54 | 8m 26s | Tumbles of Hanoi | ♥ 2 | Clever! I like the idea of mixing the towers of hanoi with Tetris. Your embedded game is not working - not sure why. I downloaded your zip and it ran just fine. You might need to troubleshoot a bit - I got my pico8 game embedded no problem. Sometimes (much of the time), a larger plate will drop on a smaller plate and there is nothing you can do - you just lose. Maybe every 10 seconds whatever you are holding gets dropped, and is replaced by the new piece? Cool game, well done. Stay safe!! |
| Oct 3 14:25:22 | 1h 43m | Betrayed | ♥ 1 | Very fun! Solid arcade game. I liked the shooting mechanic - having other objects shoot and needing to avoid them was cool. The sticky level boundaries caught me off guard a few times - maybe hey should be slippery? I would often just tap a wall and that would kill my speed, causing me to take hits. Still, really fun arcade game - one of the really fun games I've played so far. Bravo! |
| Oct 3 15:00:09 | 34m 47s | Hyper Retro Future | ♥ 1 | This cracked me up. Love a good text adventure. I did have to peak at the transcript a bit. !> I found the treadmill logic to be a bit finnicky. Inserting the SH card is only possible when you are standing on it. This was kind of confusing. I love the time paradox problem. Really cool job! |
| Oct 3 16:22:19 | 1h 22m | ROSWELL AREA ███████ WASTE DISPOSAL, INC. | ♥ 0 | Loved the scenario here. The intro is really well done - looks great and well written. I struggled with the gameplay a bit - is it possible to have conveyers go left? Still, I had fun. Kudos on hacking this all out in js, performance is great. Cheers! |
| Oct 3 16:28:02 | 5m 43s | Escape the Breach | ♥ 1 | Got a kick out of some of the surprises lol. Lots of neat twists in there - I like that a lot of them only partially alter the gameplay. It's funny, you don't see a lot of canabalt-style runners in LD, but its such a good idea. I liked that you could move left and right as well. Really fun! |
| Oct 3 16:32:49 | 4m 47s | iMaze 错觉迷宫 | ♥ 1 | Interesting game. I loved the artwork, and how all the mazes had their own gimmick and art style. Some of the best art I have seen in LD51. Nice job! |
| Oct 3 21:27:40 | 4h 54m | Sheeple | ♥ 0 | This cracked me up lol. In the second phase, I managed to escape! I could walk around the title card then lol. Well done, fellow pico-8er. |
| Oct 3 21:32:31 | 4m 51s | Hero for 10 seconds | ♥ 1 | Man, I can't believe a wario-ware-style game never crossed my mind, its a perfect fit. On top of that, you made it super-hero themed. Just an excellent job. Special kudos for the audio. The music really fit the vibe well, and I am hoarse from laughing at the audio. Really well done. |
| Oct 3 21:36:37 | 4m 06s | Release The Bus | ♥ 2 | Fun! Looks great, and a nice twist on an auto runner. Is it possible to win? The bomb number seems to go up and done. Anyways, looks great and fits the theme nicely. Well done! |
| Oct 3 21:40:04 | 3m 27s | Artful Arrows | ♥ 0 | Very silly lol. I got BASIC gorillas vibes from this. You may want to add the controls to the description. Fun game! |
| Oct 3 21:51:57 | 11m 53s | Find Ten Seconds | ♥ 2 | I'm not sure that this game needed the theme. There's a lot going on! That being said... wow, this was excellent! One of my favorite entries. I love how you defined "similar" and quantified it then. I really think you have the start of a really cool puzzle game here. Does it need the timer? Does it need levels? I don't know, there's so many variables at play here. This is really a genius submission, top marks in innovation for me. Nicely done! |
| Oct 4 02:37:39 | 4h 45m | 10 Seconds, 9 Lives | ♥ 5 | Fun! I'm loving the mini games approach to this jam. Presentation is top notch - different music for each level really makes the game full big, lots of good art, and I live the sleeping scene. Physics are a little slick, but it's still fun. Nicely done! |
| Oct 4 12:41:13 | 10h 03m | TENET SECONDS | ♥ 1 | Really well done! This really was a novel puzzle game, which is hard to do! I am always amazed at people who can make really good puzzles in games like this. Very nice work! I am not sure how I feel about the physics system. It DOES make for some cool puzzles, but it also makes execution pretty difficult, even once you know the answer. Even so, these are nitpicks against a top-tier entry. Well done. |
| Oct 4 12:58:39 | 17m 26s | Testers' wanted! | ♥ 1 | Awesome! Top marks. This really made me laugh. Clever puzzles, and your audio was excellent. I don't really have any critiquing - this was just great. Filling out the waiver really made me laugh. |
| Oct 4 15:54:04 | 2h 55m | The First Fire | ♥ 1 | Nice brough-like! Good setting and mechanics for it. The mixing of time and steps as mechanics was a little tricky - maybe if you keep pursuing it, just have a "wait" command to help pass the time? Very nice start to a tiny little strategy game. Nice job. |
| Oct 4 16:03:38 | 9m 34s | Oxylunky | ♥ 1 | Very cool, excellent mood. I have to admit that I gave up somewhat quickly - I suspect there is a hidden bubble somewhere (no tell) that I will need to progress, but every experiment costs me 1 minute of swimming back to where I was. Not sure how I would address this. This would make a cool procedural game! Very nicely done. |
| Oct 4 16:10:30 | 6m 52s | Every 10 seconds, mother comes in | ♥ 2 | This was funny. You also did a great job balancing the activities - I constantly had to debate whether I should nap, study, or play. It's a little long - maybe levels, starting at only 1 hour of ingame time, might ease you in? Still, really cool entry, great use of the theme. |
| Oct 4 19:12:34 | 3h 02m | Hiccups | ♥ 1 | I agree with @xenoparticle that it's a little easy if you spam the space bar (which I did :) ). The levels are rather short, maybe you only have ten seconds to beat them before a bubble-bobble-like ghost appears and chases you? I get strong bubble bobble vibes from this, might as well take one of their good ideas :). This was really fun, I had a great time and the presentation is great. Nice job. |
| Oct 4 19:24:15 | 11m 41s | Press me...or die | ♥ 1 | Hilarious, funniest entry I've played lol. I really had fun here. The conversation was really funny. I also like that you allow for using knowledge you gain later earlier on. Very clever and well-done! |
| Oct 4 19:27:50 | 3m 35s | 10 Seconds | ♥ 0 | Game runs well and plays well. Explosions look great. Nice work! |
| Oct 4 19:29:09 | 1m 19s | Ludum Date | ♥ 0 | Commenting so I can find this and come back. Looks cool! |
| Oct 4 19:35:08 | 5m 59s | SALARYMEN CHALLENGE | ♥ 1 | Great atmosphere and setting. Would be fun to see a post-comp version with some enemies. The dialog boxes were really funny, well done! |
| Oct 5 01:57:24 | 6h 22m | 10-Second Magic Artist | ♥ 0 | Wow. This is fascinating. Really cool way to use AI in your game! It played surprisingly well on mobile! I'm gonna try again when I get to my PC. Bravo. |
| Oct 5 12:24:34 | 10h 27m | Motor Dime | ♥ 1 | I agree with @zimonitrome - this is a really solid racing game, and it plays great, but I'm not super crazy about the gimmick with stopping. Maybe if you did something like San Francisco Rush, where you can press a button to just zap you back onto the track, ready to go. I realize this takes away some of the challenge, but its a little tricky otherwise. Im following you on itch now - would love to see this become a kart racer! You're making me want to learn godot! |
| Oct 5 12:38:11 | 13m 37s | OVERLOADED! | ♥ 1 | Really cool! Clever game - would make for a fun mobile game! Looks great and runs great. I liked being prompted for my name - kind of added a little bit of personalization that you dont see in LD games. I agree with some commenters above that the colors are not always easy to differentiate - maybe use some blues in there?. Well done! |
| Oct 5 12:46:49 | 8m 38s | Machine Learning | ♥ 2 | I really enjoyed this! Reminds me of the mobile game "Robot Wants Kitty," where each level is a mini-metroidvania - you start from scratch power-wise every time. I would love to see more levels in that same vein - you need to powerup every time. Core-gameplay-wise, the only suggestion I would make is that touching a checkpoint sets your timer to 10 seconds - I think this would speed up gameplay but still put the pressure on when you are exploring. Cool game! I love it when someone successfully makes a metroidvania for LD. Really enjoyed this. |
| Oct 5 17:00:36 | 4h 13m | 10 Seconds to Heaven | ♥ 2 | Clever idea for a game! I've not played something like this before. It's pretty hard! I think the main character needs some buffs - maybe faster move speed, better navigation in tight hallways. Maybe even picking up boxes, instead of pushing! Very cool idea, and the puzzles are quite good. Well done. |
| Oct 5 17:10:58 | 10m 22s | 0123456789 | ♥ 2 | I share a lot of the same sentiment as @vykri . I really liked this entry, and it gets high marks from me, but some design choices really beat me up, like how small the red patches of floor and walls are. I gave up on Moon - just could not manage those jumps. Even so, this was pretty rad - had tons of style and just looks and plays great. Well done! |
| Oct 5 17:13:57 | 2m 59s | Birdwatching | ♥ 2 | Cool, but punishing! Would love a "casual mode" where I could delete. It was a shame that I didn't get to absorb all the bird facts. Still, very cool idea, GREAT use of the theme. |
| Oct 5 17:17:31 | 3m 34s | The Ariadaeus Run | ♥ 1 | Whew, hard! Cool game though. Could probably use some health powerups rather than instant deaths :) . Definite old nintendo vibes from this. Spy Chase? I can't remember the name. Well done! |
| Oct 5 18:24:45 | 1h 07m | Solar Flare | ♥ 1 | Cool game! Not enough 3d platformers in this jam. I agree with others that better mouse control overall would really improve the experience. I was able to use my XBOX left stick to move, but no other buttons worked - maybe fully enabling a gamepad wouldnt bee too hard? Nice job! Also, glad to see other people went with the "lethal solar event" theme! |
| Oct 5 18:37:28 | 12m 43s | Anxiety | ♥ 1 | Cool ideas, and I like the art. !> I got stuck with the watch - what do I do with it? I could not figure this out. Would love to see the end. Nice job. |
| Oct 6 14:07:28 | 19h 30m | it could be worse | ♥ 1 | Great shooting animation. It takes a while for enemies to show up - maybe have more enemies, but they are less powerful? Neat game, and I really enjoyed the camera work. Nicely done. |
| Oct 6 14:13:30 | 6m 02s | Tower of Time 2 | ♥ 1 | Nicely done! Worked fine in chrome for me. I liked how the timer only moved when you did - interesting twist that made this feel less frantic than a lot of other entries. Well done! |
| Oct 6 14:18:39 | 5m 09s | Elos | ♥ 0 | Agree with @papaya - a visual cue for the Elos would be very helpful. Even so, I really enjoyed this - I love a good platforming challenge for LD, and the overall level design was very god here. I liked the little story elements as well - well presented. Nice job! |
| Oct 6 14:26:02 | 7m 23s | Planet survival | ♥ 1 | That was a surprisingly fun game! This is a minor point, but I really like it when you can "win" this kind of game, and it was fun to make my planet gigantic. Nicely done! |
| Oct 7 19:34:52 | 29h 08m | Hostile Climate | ♥ 1 | Nice job, fellow pioc8er. This is a very polished platformer - everything feels right and the physics of things like grenades and cows works well. I agree with some others that the hazards are a little imbalanced - antigravity is basically an instant death if you're not hiding, so you need to be fairly conservative. I read your post - I don't think you missed the mark at all! It's a pretty solid entry, probably the most polished platformer I played here. I think it takes years of practice to get good at this LDJAM thing, as well as a ton of time and sweat. I'm certainly not there. |
| Oct 12 02:17:43 | 102h 42m | Quick to Judge | ♥ 1 | This is a super-clever idea, one of he best of the compo. I think ten seconds was a little too tight to make a good decision - maybe 10 seconds could have been given to review the new law, and then another ten for the case, and another ten to decide? I like the idea of high-speed judging, its pretty funny. Mood is excellent. Nicely done! |
| Oct 18 12:49:16 | 154h 31m | Pizza Ninja | ♥ 0 | I agree with @ben-parisi - I would love to see a playthrough of this by someone who really knows what they are doing - I bet it looks awesome. I found it to be pretty difficult. Having your jump direction mapped to the mouse direction was very unintuitive. I would have preferred just a traditional platformer-style jump, and have the mouse direction only function for aiming. That being said, this was a very cool idea. @ratrat44, do a let's play and let us see you destroy this! |
| Oct 18 12:56:01 | 6m 45s | Schism | ♥ 1 | The mood and the music here are really top-notch. I love how the music and the sounds corresponded with the transformations - you absolutely nailed the timing there. I wasn't able to find any more than one crystal. Maybe some hints about where to go besides the pinging sound? I found it easy to lose my direction in the shadow realm. Still, top marks for sound and mood here. well-done! |
| Oct 18 19:23:39 | 6h 27m | The Last Minute Gallery | ♥ 1 | This was delightful. Subtle point - I like how you made it very clear from the beginning that there would be 3 minutes of drawing. That was pretty useful in order to keep us motivated to the end. The story really cracked me up, beginning and end. Fun game! |
| Oct 18 19:28:22 | 4m 43s | Unstable | ♥ 0 | The graphics in this game are really nice! Great voxel work! I agree with a few others here that the collisions are a tad clunky - i got hit a few times when I got stuck on some geometry. Great looking entry! |
