Absolutely gorgeous art, decent game loop and I love the sound. Did I mention the art? So much of it! I have one major complaint though and it's the size of our strange robot protagonist, his sprite looks like 2x2 tiles, but his hitbox is more like 0.5x0.5 tiles, this makes movement really jank and confusing and it's super hard to estimate my jumps, I kept falling down because I couldnt judge jumps.
Man I'm just blown away at the amount of art and also levels, there were like, 4? zones with unique art and enemies, crazy amounts of sprite work and it all looks great, good stuff.

Looks and sounds awesome! I kept expecting it to end only to come to a new area. That and the awesome and super fitting soundtrack kept me going.
@3mpty Thanks! Good point about the jumps - that kinda sprite/hitbox ratio isn't very common. Had playtesters get used to it over 2-3 games so I let that one slide ;) (but yes - it's tough! I fail 50% of my rocket jumps, it's almost a reward system :P)
To anyone who wishes to compete over time: my current best is a 205 ;)

Cool game! The art is cool and i like the ambience of the music. The gameplay is a bit plain if you're not doing a lot of high speed technical rocket jumping, but i do like the risk/reward aspect of firing down allows you to go faster, but also destroys the ground below you, making it harder to get back up again if you fall. I think future iterations of the idea could lean into that aspect more. overall, pretty fun game considering you're a frog
The audio could be a bit punchier and could possibly had a bit more visual flare, but DAMN are the graphics and music fitting. The only other thing I can say I had trouble with was hitbox when trying to go in one block sized holes. Great Entry!
i want a full version with multiple bosses and all.. its real good..
The music was so good in this game. A suggestion, having mouse lock would be helpful as a lot of times I would click out of the window by accident.

Great music, fun game from a simple concept. I got to a point after a while where there was no way up - metallic blocks, but not enough of them to jump on. Maybe there's something I missed, but it seemed like not a great ending. I love the art style and the background music. The controls are mostly great, although I did have some platforming trouble sometimes making it to one-square ledges. Very impressive work - nice job!

It's different from what I expected (I didn't expect it to be a game with strict requirements for accurate jumping) but it's also very interesting. The art is absolutely attractive and the music is cool. But the sound effect is kind of weak compared with the music.

Great entry, I really liked the diversity of musics, all tracks are really cool. Also, it's always nice to see Monogame entries
Incredible game! One of my favorites thus far. I loved the art and music - they're both extremely good and varied. The amount of content is astounding. I almost softlocked myself multiple times due to the destructible terrain, but I managed to win eventually (it took me 546.2 seconds, however). I felt like the shooting knockback wasn't strong enough to be relevant and rarely used it, but otherwise, amazing entry!
Absolutely beautiful game, probably my favourite this jam so far :V Wonderful art, enemies and player looked great, and the music morphing through the sections really made the sense of progression concrete.
Probably the only changes I'd want to make would be to cap the fall speed, and maybe figure out a code way to make it easier to jump around a single block. I'd love to see more interaction with the enemies, but that's hard to do in 48 hours, so wouldn't hold that against you.
@dob Yes, the game has a proper ending. It can take a few attempts before succeeding though - I guess we can all rush through testing at times... If you do wish to get some attempts in (you make it seem like you only ever reached that area once), you can use your shooting to gain jump speed/momentum. Thank you for playing!

cool art style! really long for compo entry. well done.
Love the music in this one and nice art!
these graphics are gorgeous, especially for a compo entry!
Fun game! Has some great music too! Found the platforming a bit difficult but that's probably because I'm usually terrible at it. Great job!
Really liked the aesthetics and idea! I think some sound effects would have really helped the gamefeel, though, and I found the game a little too easy. I also eventually started noticing sections of the level repeating, though that's more than acceptable in a game jam :)
This has a lot of potential and your pixel art in particular is outstanding. Really nice work! :)

Great looking game! I also thought it played and controlled pretty well - would love to see gamepad support. I think the tower was supposed to be crumbling as you climbed, but I never really saw this (my time was 301). This would make a great proc-gen game. Nice job!
@python-b5 thanks! the levels generate off premade chunks, purely randomly selected. repitition was intended, as sections can be learned and optimized every playthrough ;) also semi-response for @pbg : yes!!! I wish the game could generate further than what I got to create in the compo ;)
