LD27 — 10 Seconds

Exocolony by Tange 2013-08-28T04:01:00

What a nice and relaxing game.
Shooting off from system to system was highly enjoyable, and became even more enjoyable when I realized that there was a map.
Fun stuff, I've always wanted to make a game about soaring into the black with great abandon, but I think you've outdone what I could.

Test Subject 13B by maxking1234 2013-08-26T02:59:00

Pretty good, especially the graphics, however, a lack of monster AI made it quite easy after the purchase of a sword.

The Day Magic Died by Endurion 2013-08-26T02:53:00

That was quite good, however, note that on the title screen, when 'd' is pressed, the win screen is shown.
Jumping over arrows was quite challenging for me.

NSA's Where's Snowden? by Will Edwards 2013-09-02T01:33:00

Wow! This was insanely deep, entertaining, and difficult.
People should suggest this game to those wishing to learn SQL.
Good luck with the increased surveilance at your house now!

Insert Token(s) to Continue by Sestren 2013-08-26T03:03:00

Though I didn't grow up playing arcade games, I found this game to induce nostalgia. It was fun, and captured the theme well.
Running from machine to machine was pretty difficult too.

Time Ball! by mort96 2013-08-26T03:15:00

Though it took a while to grasp the possibilities of the time warp, the game was really fun once I got it.
Zooming along levels and probing and jumping was quite enjoyable.

Prism by LiamJPeters 2013-08-26T03:09:00

Wow, I really liked the colour matching, which I felt was pretty intuitive.
It was definitely simple and complete :)

SILX by alvivar 2013-09-07T16:41:00

Nice game.
Once I got a hang of the flying mechanic it became way easier and much more fun.

A Question of Time & Death by CuberToy 2013-08-30T05:00:00

Pretty fun!
The graphics were absolutely gorgeous, but the wasd + arrows combo was highly stressful. Still fun though!

GLITCH by TravisChen 2013-09-08T20:00:00

Nice idea and implementation! Some of the visual effects were completely impossible to decipher, but I suppose that fit with the game perfectly.
Genuinely difficult and enjoyable!

Detective Awesomepants by xel 2013-09-02T01:17:00

Perfectly executed.
The graphics were amazing, the gameplay was enjoyable, and the dialogue was hilarious.
One qualm, the culprit of the first murder didn't align to any clues, but the rest did.

Legend of Troll by Christina Antoinette Neofotistou 2013-08-27T03:37:00

Amazing visuals, and a pretty cool concept.
It captured the theme very well. 4/5

SliP by Sakuyan 2013-08-27T04:09:00

Nice game, very well executed.
The first level was a tiny bit confusing, as the green blob wouldn't move under the rock, but it eventually worked.

Trigger Warning by Dark Arts and Sciences 2013-08-27T04:03:00

Nice game/simulation (it was a little esoteric).
The boid flocking was pretty nicely done too.
Also, you might want to put a link to pygame in the description, so that some more people could download it.

1000ms by Loren 2013-08-26T05:09:00

I'm getting a black screen on firefox too.
Looks good though.

Deadly Sunrise by jayhC 2013-09-02T00:38:00

Nicely done.
The graphics were amazing, the levels were genuinely difficult, but not in a way that prevented replayability.
The theme was pretty well accounted for too.
Overall, very good.

Haraka by gikdew 2013-08-27T04:12:00

Nice art, execution and everything!
It was enjoyable, didn't feel repetitive (even though I died a lot) and was in general a great game.

Ninja Time by DaGamesta 2013-08-27T03:58:00

Nice take on the theme. The game ran fine on linux and was pretty hectic.
Nice Levels!

De Bomb Da Bomb by Ariake81 2013-09-02T00:43:00

The mechanics were pretty cool, but I struggled minorly with the control scheme for a while.
Not sure why I did though, as it was pretty well designed.

Routine decisions (in 10 seconds) by Yozz 2013-08-27T04:23:00

Amazing work!
Quite humorous, and easily one of the top entries I've played today!

10 10 Second Game Design Lessons by douglasv 2013-09-07T17:27:00

Nice!
You should have made this before the compo though!

Ten Down by Sebastian 2013-09-07T17:14:00

Nice entry, but the control scheme was really not intuitive at all.
Other than that though, it was great!

Slime Quest by drkrunk 2013-09-07T18:07:00

The graphics were amazing, and the puzzles were intense.
Good job!

#hindsight by ComicSans 2013-08-30T04:42:00

Nice!
The concept fits very well with the theme, and the score fits perfectly with the mood.
It felt choppy when I played it for the first two clicks though; I didn't understand the motion mechanic well.
Other than that the game was excellent.

Captain Timewarp by Zeno 2013-08-26T02:22:00

Nice game, it fit the theme and was overall pretty fun.
(It was pretty difficult too)

CLIMB UP!! by isharacomix 2013-08-26T02:12:00

That was pretty fun.
And you wrote it in under 6 hours, right?

exposure by zillix 2013-08-26T05:08:00

Fun, beautiful, and mysterious.
The graphics were brilliant, and the story was intriguing.
All of the endings were great too.
4/5!

10 seconds for Cactusman by megashroom 2013-08-26T02:29:00

Whoops, what OS are you running it on?

10 seconds for Cactusman by megashroom 2013-08-26T02:36:00

Fixed it.
I used zip instead of zip -r and it didn't include any of the art assets or levels.

10 seconds for Cactusman by megashroom 2013-08-26T03:05:00

You'll get there,
Anyways, I probably should have fixed that, though it only happens when you hold the key down between levels.

10 seconds for Cactusman by megashroom 2013-08-26T03:58:00

Yeah, I didn't really have much time left at the end, certainly not enough to get sound working.

10 seconds for Cactusman by megashroom 2013-08-26T04:35:00

I was thinking of doing many of those things, but as with all things LD48, I ran out of time before I could implement them.

10 seconds for Cactusman by megashroom 2013-08-26T05:24:00

I looked up some ways, like py2exe and pyinstaller and cxfreeze, but I didn't get any of them working.
Check in tomorrow around 6:00pm and I'll probably have a .exe uploaded.
That is, if you still want to play, :3

10 seconds for Cactusman by megashroom 2013-08-27T14:28:00

Run main.py with python or python-32 to play.

10 seconds for Cactusman by megashroom 2013-08-27T22:52:00

Do you have a mac?
If so, pygame is only 32 bit, and thus won't work with the copy of python you have.
Try running 'python-32 main.py'
I think that that should work.

Lanterna Cyclum by Brian Stegmann 2013-08-28T03:53:00

Wonderful game.
I liked the subtle but necessary boost of speed given by the plants, I also thought that the graphics were simply delightful!

Treasure Run by The Jahn 2013-08-26T05:11:00

Extremely hard, but really addictive.
I played for at least 30 minutes before I realized that I should leave a rating.
4/5!

Royal Defenestrator by BasmanovDaniil 2013-09-07T17:22:00

Extremely humorous, with nice shadows.
4/5

Crazy Genetist by ratalaika 2013-08-27T04:26:00

Enjoyable, if extremely difficult.
It felt easy to get caught up in placing strands willy nilly.
4/5!

QuickHunt by MvdLaar 2013-09-07T18:25:00

Amazingly well done!
The collision felt slightly clunky at times though, ex: getting stuck on small rocks.

10 Second Sculptor by nathanhoffer 2013-09-07T17:46:00

Nice game! The difficulty ramped up nicely, and the ui was elegant.
I think that I found a bug though, if you skip entire levels without drawing, you can get upwards of 80% accuracy on them.

Jim the Alien Parasite by pelayobesa 2013-08-26T04:20:00

Quit fun, nice (minimalist geometric) art, but it would be good if there was a timer for your transformations.
AI is very difficult to avoid when randoms part spawning.

Summer Death Olympics by bufbot 2013-08-27T04:14:00

Heh, nice game.
It would be cool to have some AI racing with you to illustrate the concept, but it was overall fun and visually appealing.

The Duellists by jay griffin 2013-09-02T01:10:00

Simple, polished and humorous, well done.

Ten Seconds To Live by TiRSO! 2013-09-07T18:01:00

Wonderful graphics, nice music, and it fits the theme perfectly.
(Thanks for the hint about the bathroom).

Juu Byo by Zelun 2013-08-26T02:28:00

Pretty fun, fit the theme, and had a lot of variation in it, from what I saw in each of the few times I played it.

Ten Seconds of LASER by AGDG_REJECT 2013-08-26T04:58:00

What are the flags that you compiled with?
I'm really close to getting a linux executable of this for you.

Ten Seconds of LASER by AGDG_REJECT 2013-08-27T03:44:00

Sorry man, I tried to compile it but it was waay to crazy.
It looks pretty amazing though. :(

Moondrop by nanotech 2013-08-30T05:03:00

The graphics were amazing, the concept was elegant, and the game was beautiful; well done!

10 SECONDS by Dark Acre Jack 2013-08-26T04:00:00

Mad visuals man.

Proletarian Ninja X by deepnight 2013-08-31T23:48:00

Wow, beautifully made, and extremely enjoyable.
It fit the theme perfectly too, I might add.
Good work!

Aftur by Filth 2013-08-26T04:13:00

Humorous, but wicked difficult in the first real platforming section.
I tried many times, but never won.

10 Sec Hero by StabAlarash 2013-08-27T04:17:00

Nice, I especially enjoyed the combat, which was pretty minimal but self explanatory.
It was really difficult to get the first piece of loot though.

The only one by JaJ 2013-09-02T01:06:00

I honestly cannot say anything here that hasn't been said already.
Simply beautiful and to the point (with significant subtleties).

Hungry King by NorthernCrux 2013-08-26T05:01:00

Ha! That was really fun.
The mood was right and the game was hilarious.
One qualm however... it was a little too easy to get a good 5000 above the score for each round (it was still great though).

Mission Luna by LTyrosine 2013-09-07T16:49:00

Humorous simulation game, it might be a good idea to display the velocity vector and rotation on a screen somewhere, as it is sometimes difficult to determine where you're going.

Hyper Furball by DDRKirby(ISQ) 2013-09-02T15:25:00

Simply amazing.
It didn't feel grindy at all, purely enjoyable.

Low Battery by RHY3756547 2013-09-06T03:26:00

Ha, easily one of the funniest entries I've played, and definitely the hardest.
You captured a certain franticness excellently, and I from the first second of gameplay, cortisol and adrenaline were pumping into my bloodstream hard.
5/5 for everything.

The 10-Second Murder by Rose 2013-08-27T03:48:00

Heh, that was pretty enjoyable.
The level of detail in endings was pretty crazy too.
Is it wrong that I accused everyone of the murder?
Btw, some of the light grey buttons were unpressable.

Mahayana by devwil 2013-08-26T04:04:00

That was both intense, smooth, and jarring at the same time.
Easily a mood 5/5.
Sadly, it was far to shocking to be "fun!" but it was still enjoyable to play.

Lead to Live by Herman Groenenboom 2013-08-27T03:54:00

That was a fine game.
The subtle touches such as the screen getting green when you're about to die were pretty good, and the level design was excellently difficult.

TOO MANY BULLETS by mklee 2013-09-02T15:04:00

The graphics were wonderful, and the time-circle mechanic was pretty well fleshed out.
I was happy.

RELAY by Homletmoo 2013-09-07T18:29:00

Excellent, but the 10 second transition time seemed a bit long on some levels.

Jackton Factory by Pitƶik4 2013-09-07T17:53:00

Pretty cool.
It was really difficult until I realized that [Spoilers ahead] The woman with the password was in the dark rom.

Jackton Factory by Pitƶik4 2013-09-07T17:53:00

Pretty cool.
It was really difficult until I realized that [Spoilers ahead] The woman with the password was in the dark room.
