LD49 — Unstable

Cosmic Time-Out by nratcliff 2021-10-15T15:32:56Z

I wish it was possible to zoom in to get finer control. Loved the music. The game was extremely loud when I initially opened it. I think I title screen with a volume slider would be really nice.

Pizza Pony by MattWoelk 2021-10-08T03:38:56Z

Favorite game of the jam so far!!! It's pizza horse, what can you say. So awesome, I loved developing strategies, like turning into the goal to reset my pizza stack/

From World 1, With Love by Kapricorn Media 2021-10-08T04:18:50Z

The music absolutely slaps. Very impressive. I got stuck on level 5 (with the tower) it seemed like I would keep dying without me being able to see what was getting hit. I thought to climb the tower, but couldn't find the platform after the first. Loved the art style, both in the debriefing room and in the drawn world. The animation was very fluid and clearly indicated what I was doing. I wish there was a way to fast reset when you know you have lost. For sure one of my favorite games this jam.

Monster Lab by candycat93 2021-10-08T03:58:52Z

I liked the art style and concept. I had an issue where if I pressed the tasks button and then "OK", I would get stuck and could not close either window. I had a hard time understanding what to do. I think some of the instruction was unclear. I did not know what properties were from each lab. Maybe after using the lab, I could get more info about the strengths of it.

The Yellow Wallpaper by WhenYouCantFindAFriend 2021-10-08T03:46:31Z

Loved the art style. I wish there was indicators to let you know where you can drop down since often it was a blind fall.

OverCauldron - Lonely industrial stories across the hearth by bloodycoin 2021-10-14T19:43:48Z

There seemed to be a timed element to making each potion, but even when I ran out of time, I could still make the potions, so that felt a bit confusing. I really liked the music reminded me of the Metrod Prime 2 Torvus Bog theme. The atmosphere was really nice.

Reverse Runner by hiroboto 2021-10-08T03:24:11Z

I had to play the game about 5 times because I was experiencing a bug that would place me in the top left of the screen and I could no escape. For the control scheme you went for, I wish you could see where the cursor was if you were not moving. Sometimes I would teleport without knowing where I would go. I liked the music and the mood, very chill. When the game worked correctly for me, it was a lot of fun

Floemobile by DecrementedPalindrome 2021-10-14T19:36:04Z

I liked the handling, especially spinning out hitting steep slopes.

MELTDOWN by rafatic 2021-10-14T19:28:29Z

I think it was sometimes unclear what was going on in the lab based on the visuals. I liked the design of the little workers.

Contrary by Nekopi 2021-10-21T03:06:34Z

Loved the art style and the music. I think not being able to freely jump is probably one of the most frustrating game mechanics haha. I do appreciate that the level seemed to be timed to allow you to jump when it was important to catch a platform. More checkpoints at the second level would be appreciated. Overall, was a really enjoyable experience!

Pupu Jellyfish by nekowei 2021-10-08T03:14:49Z

Really love the atmosphere. I think it was not entirely clear what the red orb did. I was not sure if I was supposed to collect them to refill my meter or it was best to avoid. But it was an enjoyable experience regardless.

Corvin and The Cauldron of Who-Knows-What by Celtican 2021-10-09T03:27:08Z

I really loved the art and the sound effects, really well done and brought back nostalgia. The music was a bit grating especially when stuck on a puzzle for a while. I wish the loop was longer or maybe there could be different songs for each task. I loved the easter eggs when doing an incorrect combination, I felt like it gave the game a lot of charm. Overall, I thought the execution of the concept was well done.

SPOILER ALERT: I got b_______ in my first playthrough, I thought because of my negative score. I beat the game again with no mistakes hoping for a different ending, but still got b_______ :/.

Shifting Labyrinth by plomeg 2021-10-12T19:15:26Z

The move sound was quite jarring as it was the first sound in the game. Hard to know how loud it would be. I liked the concept, I wish there was some way of knowing when the walls would shift so it was more like a puzzle. It ended up being more trial and error. I liked the hand drawn art style.

False Angel by Jonah_SRG 2021-10-15T15:43:40Z

Overall, I loved the game. I appreciate the attention to level design in stage one to teach players how the break blocks works. You placed them in places the player would jump into naturally but would receive no consequences. I think the controls in stage 2 would have made more sense on controller, but were frustrating on keyboard.

Unhinged Magic by RudyMakesGames 2021-10-08T03:52:15Z

Was really fun. I am a big fan of the Binding of Isaac and this scratched a similar itch. Was hard to damage the book when my shots would get blocked. I wish the ones that would explode on colliding with my shots would be colored differently so I would know. The title screen music was such a bop, it is a shame that I could not listen to it longer.

Lumen Sphera by BrandonDev 2021-10-09T02:53:24Z

I had some trouble using the menu with PC. All of the prompts were for XBOX so I had to guess the controls. I liked the core concept, although many of the levels could be cheesed via jumping. Maybe make the jump give you less height. I think given more time, this puzzle concept will be very fun and unique.

Fractured Space by JesusOnWheels 2021-10-04T23:22:22Z

Link should work now.

Update: Added controls to description

Fractured Space by JesusOnWheels 2021-10-14T19:21:36Z

@deathhound Thanks for playing our game. You mentioned you ran into a bug. Could you describe what you encountered? Were you using the browser version or the downloadable windows version?

Bloody Sheepfold by VincentSergent 2021-10-05T05:59:35Z

The concept was very unique. I liked trying to balance being around the sheep to heard and then moving when I would transform.

LD51 — Every 10 seconds

GHST-PRTCL by LoHii 2022-10-10T20:36:23Z

Simple concept but executed very well. I liked developing a strategy of clearing out the hard to reach ghosts when I had the chance so that I could save the easy ones for a hard combo. The music was very fitting. I ended up mostly using the melee attack and bumping into ghosts. One thing which felt a bit hard to get used to is that the weapon only is active when you first click, so if you click and then move into the enemy with the weapon, it does not count. Had a lot of fun, got to 30 combo :)

BOGDARU by unless games 2022-10-10T21:09:56Z

Absolutely loved the atmosphere of this game. The sounds effects and character design were very well done. At first I could not find any of the zappers, so I was standing still and trying to follow their lightning. But I realized later that I was trying to follow several zappers simultaneously. Played the game till completion, great game. Thanks for posting :)

Every ten seconds, the game skips... by davidsheadgames 2022-10-10T01:49:51Z

Was a bit confused at first on how to beat level 3, but but the game was fast paced enough that there was not a dull moment. I loved the sound design, although the static was quite harsh. I think you executed the theme very well. Great job!

The Tenth Second Son by Caveman54 2022-10-10T02:23:49Z

Once I hit the parry, I was like, "Damn, this game is cool". The parry felt so crisp, the way it slowed down time with the sound queue. I could not seem to beat the first boss after parrying in the second phase, maybe I just have to keep playing and find out for myself. Had a ton of fun, excellent job!

The Internship by MrBamboo 2022-10-10T02:08:22Z

Really loved the art style. The concept of the game was really funny, I ended up blocking the boss near the coffee machine so I could more easily bring it to him. I also loved having to locate the boss, it made me just think of how the boss just goes wherever he wants so you have to find him to bring him coffee. That made the game much more interesting rather than just go back and forth between his desk. I wish the other employees who blocked the way would sometime move so it would open up another path. Overall, I had a lot of fun, great job!

Monkey Bu$iness by LiquidFunk 2022-10-09T03:41:00Z

Monkey game = fun. But in all seriousness, the graph adjusting to the upper and lower bounds often makes it deceptive. If instead the graph adjusted based on your total amount of money, I think it would be much more clear. The music was an jam, so much appreciated. Good work!

Kitten Space Opera by antbrl 2022-10-10T20:43:47Z

Love the game, I loved strategizing on what route I would take to get all the cats. I think on level 3 I decided to not get the closest cat till last since I would have to release the alien behind the airlock. My only complaint I would say is that the character's movement is stuck to a grid, which sometimes felt a bit awkward, but I think it made trying to outmaneuver the aliens more interesting. Great job!

10 Second Apocalypse by TexelProto 2022-10-10T03:00:25Z

There was alot here for your first game jam. I definitely have made games where I had so many ideas and I used all the time to implement them and not enough time to actually test them. I think there was not enough downtime to actually harvest and interact with the crafting, but I think if there were cooldown waves in between it would work out really well. Great job!

The 10 Second Chicken-Plant Curse by Kobato Games 2022-10-10T20:48:03Z

I had fun as a chicken. I did not have as much fun as a plant :(. I enjoyed the sound design :)

Square in 10 seconds or less by Caresle 2022-10-10T02:27:21Z

Had fun, I wish you could do smaller jumps by holding jump for less time so you be more speedy, but overall you executed the levels very well. Good job!

Cyblade: The Tale of Mark Wan by innocuousuk 2022-10-10T01:57:32Z

Had fun, the music was nice. At some point I was sucked towards enemies faster than I could walk and was killed which confused me. I had to resize the game so that the credits were visible. Great job, this project is really impressive especially within the jam time limit

HexTech Farm by karatoga 2022-10-10T02:13:08Z

I don't really understand how to not make the boss get angry, I liked the art and sounds. Good job

Checker Jump by confusedsoph 2022-10-09T01:21:59Z

The jump feels a little stiff, it is sort of hard to explain. If you jump straight up without moving in any other direction, it feels fine, but for reason when moving it become all jittery. I loved being able to jump on the timer, I am not even sure if competitive checkers is even a thing but so that definitely added to the humor for me. Great job to a solo project! Much better than my first solo project haha

Nua by Cayurr 2022-10-10T02:37:40Z

Honestly, the people who are bashing on this game are haters. I have played many games this jam and during other jams I have participated in. This game is very polished in comparison. I do agree that some additional help with indicators would be helpful, maybe color coding the health, dmg on the UI would make it easier to remember what each power up does. The artstyle was very visually appealing, and I loved the atmospheric music. Excellent job on your first game jam, I really hope you don't let the other people discourage you from making more games in the future. This was really awesome and I am sure that you will make even better stuff going forward.

Pendulum by NUGameStudioClub 2022-10-10T02:46:14Z

@steve7411 Currently, there is a bug with the clock ticking when you have zoomed-in the clockface. It does not affect the solution, but it confusing when it happens (it is cause the clock ticks each second, but time freezes when inspecting objects, so when you inspect something right at a second interval, it will rapidly tick).

There are two main puzzles, it looks like you found the clock puzzle, were you able to open the chest? The are 3 picture clues for the clock puzzle, and one of them requires that you solve the chest puzzle.

Pendulum by NUGameStudioClub 2022-10-10T02:51:02Z

@zwodahs Yeah, the puzzles are designed to reset periodically (as per the theme), however, some puzzle states are not reset properly leading to the issue you described in some instances.

As far as the game not ending properly, I do agree that we should have made sure that it would still proceed even if you clicked off the clock. I think this happened since we knew the solution in our testing so we didn't think to click off the clock. I think next time, we will make sure to get some blind testers to catch those sort of issues. Thanks for the feedback, I am glad you liked the game.
