Love the art-style. Needs some tutorial in the beginning though, I was really confused about what I should do at first.

Honestly I really enjoyed playing this game, it is a very unique and fun idea executed very well. You should all be very proud of the game you have made in such a short amount of time.

I did find it a tad difficult and I did end up stopping at the level with the medieval tower, however it is still playable with trial and error to help you figure out what to do.

Great work keep it up!

The art was amazing, it really felt like I was in a drawing. Up to the tower level, I was having a blast. I thought the printer idea was super cool and the mechanics of it were intuitive. I liked that you had a story element for it, rather than just throwing us in there. There was no saving that poor animal the guy wanted to save, sad. I think I managed to save the snake in the level prior to that. Maybe tidy up things like the beginning and the tower level and this could be a game that goes beyond Ludum Dare. The art and mechanics and sound were just on point.

The art for this and the way it is executed is pretty awesome! I love the hand-drawn look. The segment that plays when you lose is a very nice touch. I really like the art direction, overall.

Wow. The initial art was amazing. And then the marker art was even better because it was interactive! That was awesome. You should make the entire game in this style.

This was such a cool game!! The concept/bakstory fit with the theme well, and the art style was just so cute!! The game play was also simple to understand yet challenging - I spent a LOT of time on the last level but it was so rewarding to finally beat it : )) Y'all did amazing!!

As everyone else mentioned, the art style is amazing. Plus I appreciate the hard work in making the scrolling text continuous despite the discontinuous shapes it has to map onto. That said, I do wish it was more obvious when something was unsavable, despite the fact that that's probably against the point of the game. The reason I mention this is because if you get it almost frame perfect, you can save the snake in an early level, yet you cannot save the bird in the very next level, even though it really looks like you can. That said, aside from the difficulty, the game is beautiful and quite effective at its message so it was worth powering through.

Wow, the art is amazing. Loved the concept behind having a platformer with time/positioning pressure.

I found it pretty difficult but platformers have never been something I've been good at.

Really good job overall!

Thank you all for the kind comments! Definitely agree that we needed to introduce & tutorialize the core gameplay a bit better. We would have liked to include a few more levels to improve the pacing/learning curve, but we ran out of time. The last level (with the tower) has a bit too many new ideas to take in, though we're glad to see some people actually got through it :)

@pauljohnprogramming you **can** save the bird, actually! It just requires a bit of a dirty trick. You can save everybody in the game.

Nice game. I like the art style very much. I enjoyed playing this game :)

The art was very fun and whimsical, and the light music went with it very well. The backstory was fun too. The gameplay is a variation on a "ball fall" game, though it was fit in with the story pretty well. I stopped on the tower level because I couldn't figure out what to do after saving the princess. The gameplay is a lot of memorization and waiting with some tricky execution - I felt the desert level took a bit too much precision, and the controls are a little slippery, which made jumping on the rising notes pretty tough.

I liked it! I wish the timings were a little more forgiving. An arrow pointing to offscreen people that need saving would be helpful too - I had no idea why it was resetting on the castle level for a while. The squishy shoe sound was also fun.

The art was really good, really liked the transition between the two styles. The animation was really smooth. The music was good quality and having unique songs per level was a bonus. Sound effects matched the art style well. Was able to beat it and save everything. Didn't realize until the bird that saving the critters wasn't necessary and spent a few more than a handful of deaths perfecting my scorpion saving technique.

Enjoyed the Hand-drawn look, audio was great, the art and the plot that explain why we're playing the game is great. I did have a rage inducing moment at the end because I was stupid but otherwise yea, a very interesting game.

jesusonwheels 2021-10-08 04:18

The music absolutely slaps. Very impressive. I got stuck on level 5 (with the tower) it seemed like I would keep dying without me being able to see what was getting hit. I thought to climb the tower, but couldn't find the platform after the first. Loved the art style, both in the debriefing room and in the drawn world. The animation was very fluid and clearly indicated what I was doing. I wish there was a way to fast reset when you know you have lost. For sure one of my favorite games this jam.

xedur 2021-10-08 19:36

Well, I got baited.

Watching the intro, I immediately thought: "Yeah, there's no way this was done for LD49." but once the real game kicks in, my opinion quickly changed.

The game has a great visual appeal and music to it. I think the difficulty was a bit off as the game was relatively easy, but most levels meant that you needed to die a few times to see where and how the text will appear, so you couldn't just "know" how to play it without trying and dying a few times first.

All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable game.

Awesome entry! I really loved the concept and it was executed to perfection with the animations, controls and subtle audio. Exactly what I hoped it would be from the screenshot and I liked the story of the game, it was really charming and refreshingly unique. The levels were difficult but clever and I persevered all the way to the end but I didn't save the snake unfortunately :( Fantastic job!

piper-thompson 2021-10-10 15:21

Such a fun little platformer, challenging and novel. Haven’t den that in a Plattformer in a while… The graphics are super cute!

alexej 2021-10-10 15:21

Love the Graphics, really do! but the game was quiet frustrating to play.

What a cool world! I included it in my Ludum Dare 49 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/gL5Jq5zIm84

Super cool xD I love the child drawn art style. The style in the beginning is rad too. I really loved the gameplay as well even though I found it a bit difficult. Really cool work!

basset-romain 2021-10-17 19:36

Nice work, the art style is very well executed.

lilkrit 2021-10-20 03:46

I'm pretty sure that you just haven't found a platform to help you. It'll boost your confidence and you will see the difference in your communication skills in no time. You can do it, good luck!

My friend moved from Austin to San Diego and started a new life there. He works there for a large construction company, on the weekends he hangs out on the site https://www.together2night.com/san-diego-personals.html where he chooses the right girl for him for dates and the subsequent long happy family life. There are thousands of profiles of girls on this site who are ready for dates right now.
