yeah, i apologize, the opengl build does that, i couldnt manage to fix it, however the windows version works fine:)
Start is too delayed. I've met first enemies only on the end of 4th wave, some action started around 7th wave. So literally nothing interesting happened for almost 1.5 minutes. That is wrong, because after that 1.5 minutes game is good, but I am not sure if many people even reach that point.
Thanks! Il definitely speed up the game's flow in version 2.
I f*cking love the music !!! Unfortunately i didn't manage to understand the range of melee weapons and die pretty early. Anyway nice concept in agreement with the theme !
Thanks dude! It wasn't ours, just royalty free stuff we found as a good fit. Yeah the melee weapons aren't integrated great, in version 2 id defo like to sort that out properly, thanks for the feedback!
really nice game idea, I like how each arm has its own cooldown, quite the creative mechanic. also like the art style and how the character's head in the UI changes as you take more damage, the melee combat could use some improvements because it's hard to tell if I'm close enough or not, maybe some additional enemy variation, envirenemnt collision etc could give it more life. but I think the game isn't bad at all for a jam game
Absolutely, gonna redo the melee completely in v2, we did plan to have multiple enemy types, crawlers, runners and spitters but we didnt have time to implement them! Coming in V2 at some point will be weapon and player upgrades, new melee, map improvements (+collision), enemy types and more so, exciting times!
The game is fun for a short time. I like the idea but the game does require some combat animation and hit feedback. Nice job anyway.
Thanks! I agree, but its a decent base to go off for version 2 :) @kokkakniphon
Had fun, the music was nice. At some point I was sucked towards enemies faster than I could walk and was killed which confused me. I had to resize the game so that the credits were visible. Great job, this project is really impressive especially within the jam time limit
Thanks! There's defo some balance that needs to be done haha, didn't have much time to test :)
I had some fun with this game. I liked the atmosphere and the graphics. The music was kick-ass. My biggest issues are with the glitches and oversights.
It seems that using melee weapons is disadvantageous. Every time I get close to use a melee weapon, my health is drained. Seeing as there is no way to regen hp, I think this is a little unfair.
Ranged weapons were fun, but it seems that I can't reload the weapon in the right hand and eventually, despite having infinite ammo, my left handed weapon stopped reloading as well.
I also would have liked a better visual indication that my attacks were landing. Something with some oomph to it.
Other than that, this was a fun time. I would like to see a postjam version with some balancing and bug fixes.
Thanks for the feedback! These are things I definitely wanna improve in version 2, however itl be a couple months till i can work on it @real-flamingicecubegames
Good work
Nicely done, love these types of games. The ranged weapons was quite overpowered with infinite ammo though haha, but quite nice being able to run around killing everything at the same time!
Lots of potential here and i mostly enjoyed my 2 playthroughs. Lots of little refinements to be made here; sfx were inaudible behind music, bullet physics unpredictable, aiming sometimes didn't go where I was clicking, enemies were unthreatening and slow. However the music was great and the two hand gun mechanic worked well - lots of potential here.
This was one of the most fun games I've rated in LD51! Reloading did eventually stop working for me but it was still very fun to play multiple times :)
Thanks guys! Cant wait to work on this some more, look out for it in a couple months time i guess :D
