Very nice little adventure there. Narrator rocks, there`s not much of them in games nowadays... Liked it!
@mrexcessive: you can drag the circles.
Very short but interesting so far. I don`t know if there are more supported commands at the door besides the one that progresses you further. Unfortunately it kind of violates the theme of the contest in my opinion...
Although i literally hate music puzzles in general, this is nicely done. Respect for your work here. I struggled a little bit with the last part, but other than that i have nothing to complain about. Great entry!
Well there`s not much in it. It also misses the theme of "Entire game on one screen". Sorry, this needs a lot of work.
Nice game with interesting ideas. Graphics and sound are really unique and make it outstanding. The game needs some bugfixing though as i touched the floor or could stand on those spiky violett monsters several times without dying. Nice work though!
This is really impressive! I´d love to see a more fleshed out version of this!
Very nice and interesting approach to the theme. Those who are into math will love it!
Nice approach to the theme. In it current state the game lacks some more mechanics to be really fun. Worth expanding!
A tower defense game in raw prototype stage. While it is solid so far, there are two things bugging me:
- All towers have a shared target instead of shooting their nearest target
- Towers should have a little bit of health
This two things combined make it quite difficult to get into the game.
Well done arena fighting game here! The progression/upgrade system is really nice and the screen shaking effect is not at all as disturbing as i have seen it on many other games. Overall this is a nice base for further development!
Nice idea! Not what i typically call a game but there`s something to it.
Well, there`s still lot`s of work to do to make this a fun game. But hey, as you said: game > no game! Nice try though and thumbs up foro the bomberman!
Really nice little game! As said often times before, i could imagine this on mobile devices using the accelerometer as input could be hilarious! Put some sound into it and give it a go!
Basic implementation of a shooter/tower defense game.
Though i like the idea quite a bit, there are some things you need to work on, like the red shots coming out of nowhere. You can shoot those, but man they are fast. Enemies only have two routes so you can easily build in a way to shoot them as soon as they enter the screen. Gaining money through shooting seems a little bit unlogical but ok, i can get away with it. Unfortunately it leads only to mashing your mouse button.
In general this thing needs some more polishing in terms of gameplay. The concept of the build and expand part is nice though!
Looks like i`m missing something. Frame instantly closes with an error message:

Thanks for the compatibility fix for Java 7. Great game, i enjoyed it alot! Item end enemy generation work pretty good!
Well polished and addicitve little game you made there! Very nice!
this is a basic implementation of a top down shooter. quite easy as enemies slow down on approaching you (kamikaze fighters wouldn`t do so, i guess). It seems you have to get to a certain area of the map after clearing a wave to spawn the next one, but i`m not quite sure how it works. You could simplify that by counting alive enemies and starting a timer if the last one dies. Also your shoots get stuck, if you stand with your back on a wall and shoot.
The controlls need to change. The way they are done right now i find it almost impossible to play. Although the screenshaking every time i hit a wall is very disturbing. This needs some more tweaking although there`s a base!
Didn`t expect this to be addictive as hell! Nice one, well done!
Solid version of a nice tower defense game!
Some things i`m missing:
- Tooltips on structures (what does this do again?)
- Hint on how many of a kind i can build (i guess no more than 3)
Minor bugs i found:
- Draggind a structure over another structure will replace the first one
- MASSIVE framedrops on the wave with enemies shooting a stream of bullets in all directions
Other than that it is very playable and kind of fun. Nice work! Could become great if polished!
The everchanging arena is nicely done. Contributes to the theme very well! Though the weapons need a bit more balancing i think, they are well done. Nicely done within those 48h!
Hard to get in but the idea is nice. You need to tweek the controls i think. There`s too much to do at the same time (moving to the right spot, choosing color, dodge electricity sparks)
Solid implementation of a typical top down shooter.
likek dallonf already said, the screenflash on spawning or dying enemies is really irritating. Also if an enemy catches up on you, there is no way to get away besides buying a speed upgrade.
Overall it is a nice more mediocre shooter but it needs more to it.
This is amazing! I like the idea very much!
You should definitely put some more time into fleshing this out. For the confusing console problems: Probably simply update your map as soon as you have scanned the target so people can recall those IDs even if they don`t see it any more in the console.
I would like to see a follow-up version of this! Great stuff!
Not quite one screen, but the mechanics are solid and audio is very nice! This defintively needs more polishing!
Nice concept. You need some form of tutorial though otherweise a lot of people will get stuck without even getting into the game. It took me quite a while to understand that i can and how to grab the fire and what do do with it. After i figured that out i managed to get the first blue flame. I can clearly see the way to go but from there it is quite hard to play on. Switching on the flames while jumping to get your landing plattform back is quite hard. The idea is very nice, but it needs a lot more polishing which would be worth it! Do so and i will play it again!
This is a very nice entry which has a lot in it!
The idea and realization are fantastic. The gameplay is actually quite good and the length is appropriate.
After finishing it with there are only a few things to say for improvement:
1) Once you have colltected an item and die in that level, the item should be reset. Otherwise the way back is actually often given instantly.
2) A little indication before the lasers shoot would be nice. Like a charging light or something. Otherwise you end up jumping right into them quite often.
Like it very much!
I like the game in generall BUT as an entry for this ludum dare you failed. Sorry, this is not "Entire game on one screen"! Then every game which does not run on dual monitors would be fitting the theme which was not intended.
Though the generated world seems to be quite good in general you also suffer from unreachable content (like almost every generated game). I appreciate the amount of work you put in it but it needs more polishing.
Really lovely and absolutely beatiful game! Very well done!
(Although it get`s a little bit repetitive once you get down to 2 or 3 nobs..)
A more fleshed out entry. It is quite nice to play but there are a few things i missed like an ammunition counter to know when i have to reload. Also i managed to spawn outside the areay quite a few times so i had to completley restart. I love that you can hide behind trees and the snowman only shoot you when they actually see you! With a bit of bugfixing this is a nice little shooter game! Thumbs up!
Though i like the idea of the concept, i couldn`t figure out what to do because it is very difficult to interact with things. There is no reliable way of deciding if i just can`t interact with an object (yet) or if i`m just standing slightly of the right spot to do so. That´s what i guess. I maanged only to pickup the bucket and fill it with water but couldn`t do anything with it in any channel. Iy this is polished, this could become a nixe little thing!
Though this is a very interesting type of approach for a game, i think it lacks a something. i think blind people for example also heavily rely on their tactile feedback when navigating their surroundings. This is something very important.
I like the idea of it nontheless! Would be nice to see a more fleshed out version of it.
Nice entry! Had the idea of a remote monitor too, but decided to do something else. Like your approach a lot!
This needs a workover. Rocks are nearly impossible to dodge (maybe show a shadow on the ground before the rock falls down) and maybe add some more mechanics to it (watering the crops, so they don`t die instead of having them die randomly).
At least it fits the theme! Good effort!
Nice defense shooter game with a nice art style. The only two things i have to complain:
1) There`s no music! Shooting zombies with no music is only half the fun! ;)
2) Somewhat more serious: It happened quite often that i lost people because i couldn`t see them in time. This happens at the sides of the screen.
Nice work on the art! Would have loved to see them animated. I saw you already had 4 way 4 frame animation graphics for some of the characters!
Though it`s quite enjoyable to defend yourself against all those invading disturbers of peace and quiet! ;)
Very fun approach to the topic. Like the dialogue a lot! Well done!
@cutandreil
Yeah, you are right. At the moment the boosts are created completly random. I should consider more stuff in choosing a bosst to drop. Thx for your comment!
@GeeItSomeLaldy
Thanks for the hint, fixed that and changed to Windows.
@Thanks for loving my tomatoes! :D
Thanks for your feedback so far. Feel free to have a look into the source code. Though i have to admit the programming style went down a little bit over the course of the weekend (i.e. getting stuff in as public static in the end instead of properly handling it with class-references if there was none...)
Oh well, i´m quite satisfied though and don`t think it`s too bad.
Thank you all for your replies, i appreciate it very much!
Building a game completely from scratch was a thing i did to myself since i wasn`t experienced enough with things like Unity by the time. Next time i will definitively use some sort of framework/engine in order to focus way more on the actual game and mechanics instead of core engine features. Thank you all for your responses!
@BtheDestroyer:
Thx for the info! :)
I will change the download link.
I won`t continue this one, but i learned some nice stuff while creating it. I´m currently working on another project.
Thank you all for your replies! We see us at Ludum Dare #32!!!
Very well done puzzler. Graphics are really nice, sound is cool (only lacks some background music), and the mechanics are well done! Maybe you should highlight windows/doors/etc. when they are introduced to the players to make it easier for them to spot them. Overall nicely done!
Nice work on the pixal art! Personaly i love that style!
What are those upgrades good for? I couldn`t figure out what they do. Also i didn`t receive the golden hook when i bought it.
Nice little game that could be a pretty good time eater (in a positive way) if you add some music and something a little bit more challenging other than just putting your hook in the water to catch those fishes.
Nice entry! I like it alot. The idea is great, the flight and wind mechanics are solid, the graphics are also nice (i like those refelctions on the water) and the sound fits in there too. I also had to laugh a lot when i smashed my owl against the rocks for the first time.
