Apr 30 02:21:56 Thief of Hours ♥ 0 Heh, I enjoyed this... It's pretty difficult at first as those old dudes are quick! I got the hang of it though. I kinda liked messing with the physics and the AI - if you hand about in the middle of a ladder you can get an old dude stuck on another ladder, and the police can't reach you. Made me smile. ;)
Apr 30 02:30:49 8m 53s The life of Cirkat ♥ 1 Daaaaaamn dude... Really impressed that you coded this up for the NES in a weekend.
Apr 30 02:40:52 10m 03s The Reaper ♥ 0 Nice! The physics messed up a bit and I could walk through walls on the second level, but other than that I liked it. Music was great and I found myself clicking in time to add an extra beat with my sabre. That might just be me.
Apr 30 02:48:41 7m 49s UpDrain ♥ 1 I liked this... the idea is solid. I'm with GabrielH on the trial and error to take the right upgrade path. I think it'd be good if the powerups were temporary, and the game had multiple levels with predictable obstacles, so with each level you'd have to work out when to buy certain upgrades... One thing that could really have improved this for me though, is a score or timer or some way of being able to tell how well I was doing.
Apr 30 03:05:08 16m 27s Beyond the Slot ♥ 4 I didn't get a donut. :(
Apr 30 03:10:21 5m 13s Super Epic Insurance Fraud 3000 ♥ 1 Very nice... reminds me a bit of a game I used to play where you had to crash a car and cause as much damage as possible. Would be nice to have some combos for hitting multiple cars and such.
Apr 30 11:30:42 8h 20m Time City ♥ 0 Looks great. The balance could do with some tweaking, I was able to essentially play forever by just working, buying life and burgers, working some more, and repeating the process. Pretty good for a weekend though!
Apr 30 11:57:08 26m 26s The Right Coin ♥ 2 Really liked this one. A little difficult to control on the keyboard, and I would have liked the buttons swapped over (but that's personal preference). I can imagine it'd be much better with gamepad and full screen... but I can't fault the game really. Solid gameplay, lovely artwork. Good job!
Apr 30 12:45:12 48m 04s Kappetalize ♥ 2 This is genius! I'm playing alone, but I can see how it would be a whole load of fun with some friends... The physics are a little buggy - I managed to ragdoll up in the air and land behind the bank and couldn't get out for a while... but actually I think in multiplayer couch play this just adds to the fun. Really enjoyed this - are you continuing development?
Apr 30 13:46:47 1h 01m Save Your Soul! ♥ 1 This is strangely addictive... couldn't get past level 3 though.
Apr 30 13:59:33 12m 46s Extracted Souls ♥ 1 Nice... Took me a minute to relise I had to hold left click down to get the hoover to work, initially I was jusing the right click as left didn't seem to do anything. I got into it though. The only issue is that sometimes it seems plants and bandits aren't being generated and the level is kinda empty.
Apr 30 14:11:52 12m 19s Arm & A Leg ♥ 1 Wow, this is lovely. The artwork is great, I love the mechanic and _really_ liked how the game experience changes depending on which parts you sell... When I sold my language chip and the text went crazy, I literally giggled with delight. One of the strongest entries I've played - well done!
Apr 30 14:40:41 28m 49s Lady Death ♥ 0 Very nice... I liked the style and it was fun to play. I'd have preferred 'up' to jump and space to reap as the X button was a bit akward. The collisions could do with a little tinkering, and I'd have liked to see a different frame to indicate that the player was clinging to the wall - until the second level I thought that was just a problem with the physics! Overall though, very enjoyable. Well done!
Apr 30 17:18:51 2h 38m Mahou Shoujo Monster: Promised Fate ♥ 3 The music was brilliantly creepy... Not sure I really understood how my actions would effect the game - but I _did_ manage to get the 'good' ending.
Apr 30 17:30:58 12m 07s Sick Business ♥ 6 This is fantastic... loved the minigames and the strategy. All really good - except, I played a few times and on each occasion the game would just freeze up at around 5 minutes in. Shame, because I reckon I could lose a couple of hours on this!
Apr 30 17:40:57 9m 59s Oh my blood! ♥ 1 This is great! Loved the graphics & quirky dialog. Gameplay is good - only gripe is that the dialog is unskippable even on subsequent playthroughs. I could skip the initial meeting, but not the dialog about buying more spells.
Apr 30 17:50:24 9m 27s No Pain No Gain ♥ 2 Fun to play... for me I think the first minute or two are a bit slow, before the number of enemies starts ramping up. I managed 4:50.
Apr 30 17:57:38 7m 14s Petite Cuiller ♥ 0 This is simply, lovely.
Apr 30 18:06:54 9m 16s Transfert ♥ 1 Very atmospheric... fun to play, but I couldn't figure out how to 'win'. The fact you said it's possible kept me playing for longer though.
Apr 30 18:39:07 32m 13s Blob World ♥ 2 This is awesome! I really like the core mechanic. I found I was able to move across the raised areas, I'm not sure if they were supposed to act as boundries? I did find it fiendishly difficult, but definitely has the 'one more go' factor. Excellent all round.
Apr 30 20:43:14 2h 04m Mosquito Hunter ♥ 2 I really like the tongue swinging, reminds me a little of the ninja rope in Worms... I think it needs a bit of tweaking though, it wasn't as intuitive as I'd like. Perhaps it'd work better if it were aimed with the mouse?
Apr 30 20:53:29 10m 15s Red Rock ♥ 2 Looks fantastic, but it did feel a little random in terms of action to outcome.
Apr 30 21:09:25 15m 56s TRIWAR ♥ 1 _Love_ this... plays great, really slick. A good mechanic very well executed.
Apr 30 22:13:30 1h 04m Kill The Money ♥ 2 This looks great, and I love the music. I think it's a little too difficult to kill enemies with the original gun, especially since you need to time a jump for each hit and they seem to take about 8 to die. Much more fun when the other weapons come out. Graphics are really pretty.
Apr 30 22:26:54 13m 24s Kicky Blimp ♥ 1 Great graphics and I loved the simplicity of the mechanic. Nice work.
Apr 30 23:02:09 35m 15s Piggy Bank ! ♥ 1 Excellent... played all the way through. I liked how each new world had a different mechanic and the later puzzles were perfect. I agree with some others about the difficulty curve though, there were a lot of really easy levels in there. Still, great game - would definitely like to see a longer version.
Apr 30 23:31:48 29m 39s The dangerous life of an indie dev ♥ 1 Yup, that about sums it up. It took me a few attempts to finish my game... just like in real life. ;)
Apr 30 23:40:55 9m 07s Bloody Medic ♥ 0 I couldn't get this to run. Says it's missing: "/res/files/audio/EP.wav". Windows version.
Apr 30 23:56:07 15m 12s Selloutpunk ♥ 0 This is broken for me. Looks beautiful, but I can't pick up drinks at all.
May 1 00:09:13 13m 06s Mr. Moneybag's Great Adventure ♥ 4 Good fun to play, though I found myself getting impatient with the stealth and ended up trying to run the gauntlet, which worked surprisingly well!
May 1 00:20:58 11m 45s Ludumkula ♥ 1 Good fun and cute graphics. Only thing is that sucking blood slows down your run through the levels, which when you keep insta-dying somewhere near the end, can break the flow a bit. Enjoyed it thoguh.
May 1 07:42:45 7h 21m Elevator Pitch ♥ 1 Heh! This one made me smile. Lovely graphics and soundtrack too.
May 1 18:23:38 10h 40m Jack The Reaper ♥ 1 Fun game... took a while to get used to the physics and the height of the jumps - makes it quite difficult to dodge the enemies, but that's a good thing. Music was really cool too. ;)
May 1 21:00:06 2h 36m Angry Planet ♥ 1 The artwork is great, and aside from the actual gameplay the little touches make it so much fun to play. I loved the sound effects... honestly this is the first game I've played from LD44 that really made me laugh (at the sounds of the little humans falling off of the planet). Really slick presentation... loved this.
May 1 21:12:47 12m 41s Sweat Shop ♥ 1 Great artwork and interesting mechanics. Nice.
May 2 22:38:51 25h 26m Sigillis ♥ 1 Wow... This is fantastic. I've never seen this kind of mechanic before, not sure if there's anything out there like it. Works really well. Would love to see it on mobile.
May 3 23:49:36 25h 10m Meaningful Life ♥ 1 I lived!! (Took a few attempts though)
May 4 00:03:14 13m 38s Zombieton ♥ 1 I found it quite satisfying to circle round the zombies for a bit until they're in a bit of a clump, then see how many I could take out with each shotgun blast. Needs a bit more... enemies, waves, levels, etc. But pretty fun to play. Nice work.
May 4 16:31:02 16h 27m King's Alchemist ♥ 2 Nice... could see this working really well on mobile, seems begging for touch input. I liked that there was a win condition, it meant that I could strategically ignore a few complicated potions at the end, concentrating on easier ones for the win. Could do with some more levels though!
May 4 16:45:19 14m 17s Traade ♥ 1 Excellent... really liked the level design. I too thought I'd found a bug at first on the second iteration of the elevator level, but soon realised there was more to it. Rather difficult, that last level!
May 4 16:59:58 14m 39s Enemy Of The State ♥ 2 Fun game... I couldn't get to the end though. :( I couldn't see a health bar anywhere, that might have been handy. Feels good to play anyway.
May 4 17:12:31 12m 33s No Life No Game ♥ 2 Good gameplay and liked the graphics and sound too. Would have also liked a way to restore health... ideally as part of the potential reward - bet health to get cash, or don't bet health and get some back as a reward instead of cash. I liked the big spike machine enemies too. ;)
May 4 17:21:33 9m 02s Calienows ♥ 3 Liked the style of this, and I can see lots of potential for a fun 2 player game with some of the things you've mentioned in the comments - speed boosts, fuel and the like. I too found the collision a little jarring, especially when hitting up against low bushes that I think I should have been able to fly over... but either way this is a solid game even in its current state. Sadly, I too played alone. :( AI would be awesome. Or online play?
May 4 19:50:36 2h 29m Fluffensnuff ♥ 2 Great little puzzle game. Love the graphics - especially when you stroke the kitty. ;)
May 4 20:05:50 15m 14s Coin-Op Kid ♥ 1 Perfect. I think this has to be the best I've played so far. The graphics are beautiful and I love the attention to detail. The mechanic is brilliant - I had a similar idea originally and I'm really glad I didn't go ahead with it as your game would have outshined it easily! Level design was great too. First 5 star rating I've given. Really think you should flesh this out into a bigger game. I'd buy it.
May 4 20:17:16 11m 26s An American Blood Clot in Techno Athens ♥ 1 This is a _great_ game! The physics are pretty difficult to master and it'd probably be a bit better on gamepad, but I loved the mechanics of it. My game is similar - spawning platforms to get to the end... but I love the blood loss mechanic too. Really cool. ;)
May 4 21:59:32 1h 42m The Bloody Merchant ♥ 1 I'm not sure I really understood how the points worked - I thought I was selling the parts and people were coming in to offer an amount, so I'd accept any offer over the price displayed. I also didn't realise what I had to click on at first... For a first game it's pretty good work though. I liked the graphics and the little animations.
May 4 22:39:29 39m 57s Depths ♥ 1 Beautiful. I loved that it was on the NES too, but in any case it was a lovely interpritation of the article. Glad you added the easier mode - not sure it should be too difficult to stay afloat!
May 5 15:33:19 16h 53m This is your life now ♥ 0 I loved this! Played through a bunch of times, but never really managed to end up with much - maybe that's the lesson... Appreciated some of the choice / consequence combinations. ;) Lovely artwork, audio suited perfectly and overall just a really enjoyable experience. Nice work!
May 5 15:56:26 23m 07s Black Market Crackdown ♥ 2 Love the gameplay idea and the graphics, but I too found the combat to be a little difficult and it felt a bit random. I think it needs a bit of fine tuning, but other than that it's a solid game.
May 6 12:50:26 20h 54m Blood and goods ♥ 3 Lovely artwork and I liked the sound... I liked the gameplay concept too, but I have to say I found it very difficult. Main thing I'd change is the amount of time the game over scene takes! When you're dying all the time, as I was, it's very frustrating to have to wait so long before you can hit restart.
May 6 12:58:37 8m 11s utsvulten ♥ 0 My _word_ that was creepy... the audio is _perfect_ and the whole experience made me feel just a little uncomfortable. Nice work.
May 6 17:50:27 4h 51m Darkest Decision ♥ 3 Graphics and sound are great, gives the game a good atmosphere. Only thing is I found it difficult to understand exactly how my choices affected the stats - particularly as there were so many other random things happening that seemed to also affect them.
May 6 18:23:23 32m 56s Drytown ♥ 1 This is simply wonderful, I can't find a single fault with it. The art style is really impressive too. Top work guys.
May 6 18:31:25 8m 02s Death Alley ♥ 2 Love the artwork on this, but I found it really difficult. Either I could get good power but would always hit the gutter, or a decent aim but only enough power to knock down a single pin.
May 6 22:03:37 3h 32m Knock Knock... The travelling soulsman ♥ 2 Pretty cool... loved the soundtrack, fun to play. I too would have liked to skip the intro, also I found I couldn't click to start the game on the second run through, I had to reload.
May 6 22:26:26 22m 49s Graveyard Ghost ♥ 0 Looks great, fun to play. I struggled a bit with the controls, sometimes hitting C when I meant to jump, teleporting me back half a screen or so, but other than that it's pretty solid.
May 6 22:35:11 8m 45s Jamsterdam ♥ 1 Wow, this is pretty... just loved the art style here, and the singing mechanic really made me smile. Spent half the time just composing music with the mouse. Beautiful, well done.
May 6 22:45:51 10m 40s Idle Idol ♥ 1 Very cool indeed... took me a while to realise I could destroy trees though!
May 6 22:52:06 6m 15s Demon's Wages ♥ 0 May just be me, but I couldn't figure this out. Nothing I said to anyone seemed to have a positive reaction and every attempt seemed to reduce their heart level. Looks nice though.
May 6 23:05:10 13m 04s Escape from Hell ♥ 1 Took me a while to figure out what was going on here - I think it doesn't work properly in Firefox, as I was unable to respawn (and since the only feedback on death is the colour change, I didn't realise I was dead... only that my weapon no longer worked!) Once I played in Chrome it all made sense and I got to the end. Would have liked some visual feedback that the upgrades were working, as I didn't immediately notice the stats changing. Looks pretty though and was kinda fun to play through.
May 6 23:29:15 24m 05s Slice of Scythe ♥ 0 Nice artwork and I enjoyed the dialog. Think there's an issue with the math minigame, I'm pretty sure I got it right but it wouldn't accept the answer. Fun though.
May 6 23:33:39 4m 24s Money is Life ♥ 1 Nice take on Tetris, could be really fun but I think it needs a bit of polish. I found that I could make some of the blocks disappear by pushing them over to the wall and rotating them off of the play area. Still pretty cool though.
May 6 23:40:48 7m 09s Dead Frog Tell No Tales ♥ 1 Very well designed and polished, but I found it a little too easy. I think it could do with requiring a bit more strategy - I'd like to have to really think about the moves I make, but in its current form it seems difficult to fail. Still, nice concept and really well executed.
May 6 23:49:02 8m 14s D.R.I.E.D. ♥ 2 Love the artwork. Found it kinda easy to get to the end, would have liked to have seen more... also felt like the actions I took (buying armour plating, slug, etc.) didn't seem to make any difference in the encounters I had... so say I'd bought amour at the beginning and again from the robot on the first encounter, when I later encountered shots fired, I would have expected that the armour would have protected me, but I sprung a fuel leak just like the first play through when I didn't buy any amour. Anyway, still a solid entry and I enjoyed playing.
May 6 23:58:24 9m 22s Guardian Sphere ♥ 0 Oh man I love the artwork on this... feels really fun to play, but I wasn't able to keep hold of enough spheres to buy any upgrades. :(
May 7 00:13:36 15m 12s Deep Space Prospector ♥ 0 Very nice... looks really good and plays well. I'd have enjoyed a bit more variety I think, but then I didn't get too far before being blown up. It was handy that my ship could take a bit of damage, but I could kill other ships with a single shot! I too would have liked to see energy regenerating over time. Could see this working well multiplayer too... perhaps with a set time, respawns and the winner having the most energy at the end of the round.
May 7 16:30:45 16h 17m Soul Surge ♥ 0 Great pixel art... I would have liked some visual inidication as to how many hits I could take, and I found it hard to tell if and when an attacker would hit me, collision-wise. I didn't get any audio either, not sure if it should be there?
May 7 16:53:09 22m 24s safecrack ♥ 1 Oh wow, I thought I'd had fun with this game after somehow spending 18 minutes clicking about and getting the cash out (unique concept, cute pixels, strangly addictive), but then I saw the screenshots people have posted above and... _boy_ have I been playing it wrong! New aim of the game: Allow no floor pixels to remain!!! Really good entry. Nice work.
May 7 18:21:54 1h 28m Vital Investments ♥ 1 Liked the graphics and the gameplay. Thought it was a bit slow to start with though, takes a long time to get any cash to buy buildings. Fun though.
May 17 17:13:02 238h 51m CrazyAmbulance ♥ 0 Fun take on a classic mechanic... Nice work.
May 17 22:09:15 4h 56m SIGNET ♥ 0 Really pretty, loved the mood of it... but like the others I didn't really understand what I was trying to do. I started by trying to get the power nodes in as few moves as possible, then trying to light up the entire board before connecting the power nodes. Didn't seem to make any difference how I played - so I'd like a bit more feedback on what I'm doing... but other than that, it was beautifully designed.
May 17 22:15:26 6m 11s Life Is Not Currency ♥ 0 I really liked this... a great interpritation of the theme and I enjoyed that I was searching for meaningful words amongst the distracting currency... quite effective. Great soundtrack too, relaxing and unnerving at the same time. Nice job.
May 17 23:20:35 1h 05m DEADline ♥ 1 Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. Really nice, simple idea, excellently executed. Can't find fault with this at all, it's lovely.
May 18 15:41:30 16h 20m A Life's Work ♥ 0 Very cool... nice idea and fun little minigames. Would have liked some sound, and basically just a bit more of the same.
May 18 15:53:41 12m 11s LIFE Corp ♥ 1 I feel like I may have enjoyed this, it looked pretty cool - but it was really difficult to control for me. The collision on the scenary seemed buggy, I found myself inside rocks and things fairly often. The whole of the first level started out upside-down and took me a while to get it to sort itself out.
May 18 16:35:36 41m 55s 99Hearts ♥ 1 Very cool... I played this for quite some time, though I didn't notice there was a stats screen! I did feel a bit OP quite quickly, and found it rather difficult before getting the auto aim powerup. I also at one point managed to get stuck in a wall that spawned over the top of me! Bombed it away though. Could have done with a bit more variety, but that's to be expected with a jam game. Overall, very very good.
Oct 12 22:45:48 12318h 10m Sword of Hearts ♥ 0 Wow, dude... Since I enjoyed your LD46 entry so much, I had a look at this game too. This was incredible... not least because I had a very similar mechanic for LD44, but mine landed a little flat - this _really_ shows how it can be done. Bravo.
