| Apr 5 04:41:28 | Buhanochka Z | ♥ 1 | I like the world design, the world and player have somewhat of a N64 aesthetic, there doesn't seem to be much gameplay other than just avoiding being touched which is really easy if you just jump over to an island and stand there. The controls were too floaty and the jumps are massive so there's no real danger or fine control, it wouldn't have been as big of an issue but the camera snaps around like crazy and it's impossible to see where you are most of the time. Could actually be a decently fun arcade style game with tighter jumps and a chase cam that stays behind you. | |
| Apr 5 04:49:50 | 8m 22s | Flooded Caves | ♥ 1 | Managed to get a perfect! I love everything about this, while it's simple it still LOOKS, sounds, and plays good. If I had any complaint it's that late game there's quite a bit of lag. |
| Apr 5 06:11:49 | 1h 21m | Final Forest | ♥ 1 | I like it, but it constantly freezes up at wave 3, controls not exactly ideal for mouse play. |
| Apr 5 06:33:27 | 21m 38s | Drama Crusade | ♥ 1 | surreal is definitely the right word for this, make sure you press f3 to fix the view at the start! |
| Apr 5 06:37:26 | 3m 59s | Death Is Inevitable | ♥ 1 | liked the music, only saw one monster after quite some time, camera needs a bit of work, whenever you turn it clips into the wall and you can't see anything. |
| Apr 5 06:41:31 | 4m 05s | And Then You Fall | ♥ 2 | I love this type of game, little hard to tell what to dodge and what to pick up though, wasn't expecting it to keep changing like it did. |
| Apr 5 06:48:30 | 6m 59s | darkwalker | ♥ 2 | it took a few tries to understand, interesting concept |
| Apr 6 20:20:57 | 37h 32m | Stallar | ♥ 1 | after a few attempts I realized that there were just two variations of the "three paths" part, there's actually a few other randomized areas and a different enemy i didn't see the first few times, after a while it does just start looping though stellar.png Wayyy more to the game than I thought when i hit the goal the first time, I wish there was a "technical" category, because a NES game with some randomized levels is pretty neat (the platforming needs work though) |
| Apr 6 20:28:53 | 7m 56s | I Will Not Die. | ♥ 1 | I like the atmosphere and the basic gameplay, I had issues though, my first kept getting stuck in the ground sometimes, and the grab didn't seem to work at all, the camera kept snapping around while I was moving as well which made it hard to keep track of where I was standing (and honestly the motion of the camera made me a little nauseous) |
| Apr 6 20:48:33 | 19m 40s | Disaster City | ♥ 1 | Dropbox was pretty annoying, made me click through a few screens and try to get me to sign up/etc before it finally just let me get to the file. Dot seemed to be the only real threat, but was pretty easy to deal with, I think it's a bug but you can still repair buildings while dot is on them, the box is hidden by the text box saying the building is damaged but occupied, but it's still clickable. I like the concept though after the first few days it just devolves into clicking the upgrade button every other day and repairing a building every time it's damaged, there was more than enough resources given that I never really had to make choices. disastercity.png |
| Apr 6 21:01:09 | 12m 36s | Day of the Flame - LD 50 | ♥ 1 | Simple enough, funny bug but if you shoot the final boss after he's dead he replays his death animation again, he took a LOT of hits to kill. The platforming felt fine for the most part but some of the jumps were pretty much pixel perfect. There's an odd unused "mechanic" that felt like you might have been intending to do more with it, as you burn out you get smaller and there's a spot on the first screen that you can actually fit inside once you're small enough, I thought maybe that would lead to some upgrade so I made myself smaller and squeezed through but it ended up just being death. |
| Apr 6 21:10:53 | 9m 44s | Mortal Compass | ♥ 2 | Just fyi for linux packaging you should use gzip or similar, not zip format, zip format strips permissions so to play you have to manually add execute permissions to the files, .gz files preserve permissions. I enjoyed it, though sometimes the arrow flips as someone runs away and it makes me think i walked through them, made it a little harder to find. I did hit the bug with them not spawning once as well. Scored 220 second try. |
| Apr 6 21:27:30 | 16m 37s | Bark Park! | ♥ 2 | love the adaptive sound! Wasn't entirely clear until later on what the purple meter was, I wish I could have seen more of the owners moves, he's quick so I had to keep going offscreen to get away from him and missing most of the cool "attack" animations he was doing. |
| Apr 6 21:33:24 | 5m 54s | Somnipathy | ♥ 4 | The artwork is great! The movement felt pretty sluggish, but i guess it does add a bit to the feeling of urgency. I love how insane everything was by the end. |
| Apr 6 21:42:53 | 9m 29s | Definitely not Titanic | ♥ 3 | Great music/art, I found a funny out of bounds glitch, on the upper deck you can squeeze between the railing and get up to the top portion, jump into the water, and just leave. Second try got 2:09. |
| Apr 6 21:49:52 | 6m 59s | Flood Runner | ♥ 2 | Love the concept and the graphics, honestly the biggest problem is the camera, it moves WAY too fast and constantly flips around makes me lose control, made it really hard to keep track of where I was and what direction I was moving in. Others are talking about music, I didn't hear any, maybe it's broken in the web version? |
| Apr 6 22:14:32 | 24m 40s | =< 1001 Nights | ♥ 3 | Love it, the music and game are great, was hard at first to find all the combos with the time limit, once you know how it's laid out it gets a lot easier though! Is the layout of the room a reference to prince of persia? The layout and look is similar enough it's the first thing I think of when looking at it (for those who haven't played it, I'll put a screenshot below for comparison so you can see what I mean) prince.png |
| Apr 7 22:57:18 | 24h 42m | Where do you go after you win | ♥ 0 | It keeps a consistent style, i don't know if it's the colors but kinda has that commodore style to it. the hit-boxes need some serious work though, things were nowhere near me and i kept dying, makes a game where you die instantly and restart somewhat annoying. |
| Apr 7 23:09:31 | 12m 13s | On Company Time | ♥ 5 | I love it! I was confused at first by the "work" minigame, i thought it was showing me a sequence of keys to match and was maybe just not drawing the letters properly so i sat there for a while before I realized it literally just wanted me to MASH keys. I found a pretty good loop you can take almost forever, the trash can minigame gives a TON of time for a very quick, easy to repeat action, so just going between any of the others and trash you can keep the bar pretty high! |
| Apr 7 23:35:52 | 26m 21s | Re: Placement | ♥ 3 | I love the game, fun-wise one of the best i've played so far this jam! Once you start to learn the patterns on the pieces it gets a lot easier. My only complaint is that even without putting any front pieces on sometimes it's impossible to see the pattern on squares in the back, and there will be 2-3 that could fit from what you can see. did 7 shifts, 34000 on first try! highscores.png |
| Apr 7 23:45:02 | 9m 10s | Hapman 🍩 The Inevitable | ♥ 1 | I love the game but man i think tank controls were a bad choice for it, it's VERY confusing with a moving camera, after the first few food pieces I was used to it enough but still having camera based movement would have been a lot more fun! I actually managed to survive in the end, now he's just staring at me forever! survivor.png |
| Apr 7 23:56:50 | 11m 48s | Forest Fire | ♥ 2 | I love it, maybe some ambient sound/music would be nice though. Hard to aim sometimes, it's odd that it allows you to use the mouse to throw but the mouse isn't actually aiming it, it always just throws directly in front of you, would be a lot better if you could move and aim separately. I also didn't realize there were stairs down for the first minute or so, i thought i had to spray the fire from the tower O_x. |
| Apr 8 00:27:11 | 30m 21s | The Hero (...Always Wins) | ♥ 2 | man it's difficult, but I enjoyed it, a decent tactic early seems to be to space out and spam the little wisps and put towers where they attack the hero one by one, the dart towers are the real damage dealers. The healer didn't really seem to do anything, by the time you need him even your big guys get oneshot by the hero. |
| Apr 8 00:34:58 | 7m 47s | The Cold Night | ♥ 1 | A short but fun arcade game, didn't realize at first you could pick up the sticks, i like the mechanic of shooting through the fire to get piercing shots! The ramp up is a bit fast, goes from almost nothing to completely overwhelmed in seconds, would have enjoyed a more gradual ramp up so the game would last a little longer and I could get more powerups, would have also been nice for the normal fire to auto-fire with the button held, clicking the mouse for every shot in a game like this was a little intense. |
| Apr 8 00:48:18 | 13m 20s | The Inglorious Yet Highly Stimulating Life of an Underpaid Graduate Student 2 | ♥ 1 | I enjoyed it, if I have any feedback overall i'd say the intro is just too long and there's too much of a delay between calls, made it take a LOT longer than playing it should have, the actual calls and responses were great though. I got a lot of duplicates, it seems like if you refer to sales maybe it bugs (or it's intended) that you get that exact same caller back over and over? |
| Apr 8 00:56:42 | 8m 24s | Caution! Sniper! | ♥ 1 | major stutter, makes it pretty hard to play, every 3-4 seconds the game just freezes and skips. I like the idea and the art, the places were too big and it was a little too random, i had many times i just never found the person on round 1, maybe an arrow pointing you in a general direction? I didn't play too long though due to the stutter issue. |
| Apr 8 01:07:02 | 10m 20s | Chess at the End of Time | ♥ 2 | I liked it, ran into a bug though, when it tried to go to green army it skipped to red, then when it tried to go to red the game froze! I made it decently far, knowing the king can capture pieces really helped, though I like how the game unveiled the mechanics as it went. |
| Apr 8 01:43:22 | 36m 20s | Paper Boy Flyin' High | ♥ 2 | Absolutely loved it...well most of it, level 1 was chill and you could get going SO fast you'd go 5km every few seconds, level 3 was amazing and once you picked up speed rocked. Level 2 however.....while I loved the look and feel, the hitboxes were pretty rough, you'd hit a bridge you were nowhere near touching, or clotheslines you couldn't even see pretty often, the spawning of the boosts was often either in the bridge or between two bridges nearly touching making it almost impossible to get, level 2 was basically just waiting for the RNG to give you a level that was winnable. I also had a pretty hard time judging what height the boosts were at sometimes, I think it's the shape, the reason games like starfox use rings is it's easier to line yourself up with a shape like that because you can judge your relation to it easily. I thought i found a bug at first when i finished level 3 at 5.08 and it failed me so i beat it again, getting 10.02 and still failed, so i guess it's just the last level, lol. |
| Apr 8 01:52:53 | 9m 31s | Fading Fate | ♥ 0 | No idea what was happening half the time, looked good. Honestly as far as i could tell my people did better once i stopped touching buttons. |
| Apr 8 02:07:03 | 14m 10s | Above the clouds | ♥ 2 | The music stops partway in, it was pretty nice until that happened. I understand the controls, just couldn't really control it well, I had fun though just blasting off up high then drifting fast for a while, was able to travel pretty far. |
| Apr 8 02:14:06 | 7m 03s | Balloon Bash | ♥ 1 | it's the game we all played as a kid, lol. i got to 7 balloons pretty easily. It ran well enough under WINE, though i do wish there had been a linux native version. |
| Apr 8 02:24:38 | 10m 32s | Holy Furbals | ♥ 1 | wouldn't run for me. java -jar holyfurbalsLD50.jar Exception in thread "LWJGL Application" java.lang.ExceptionInInitializerError at com.badlogic.gdx.backends.lwjgl.LwjglGraphics.setVSync(LwjglGraphics.java:643) at com.badlogic.gdx.backends.lwjgl.LwjglApplication$1.run(LwjglApplication.java:125) Caused by: java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: 0 at org.lwjgl.opengl.LinuxDisplay.getAvailableDisplayModes(LinuxDisplay.java:951) at org.lwjgl.opengl.LinuxDisplay.init(LinuxDisplay.java:738) at org.lwjgl.opengl.Display.<clinit>(Display.java:138) ... 2 more AL lib: (EE) alc_cleanup: 1 device not closed |
| Apr 8 02:28:34 | 3m 56s | Just run! | ♥ 1 | Simple enough, great art. Once it starts moving fast the click detection doesn't seem accurate, it lags behind where you're clicking. |
| Apr 8 02:31:38 | 3m 04s | Prison Arena | ♥ 0 | Crashed on launch, doesn't like my java version i guess :/ |
| Apr 8 02:37:50 | 6m 12s | HungryBot | ♥ 1 | simple enough game, though sometimes the yellow shards didn't spawn for me so there was no way to win. should zip the two files together to make it easier to play. (it's also kinda big for the art used, that pack file is huge) |
| Apr 8 02:46:40 | 8m 50s | Scuttling Is Painless | ♥ 0 | had a really hard time with the controls, keyboard controls seem to be on a delay, sometimes when you're holding a key it drops other inputs as well, couldn't complete it due to that. I like the charge jumps, didn't realize how jumping worked at first so it took a few tries, didn't really work right charging and moving at the same time, didnt seem to carry the momentum? |
| Apr 8 02:52:33 | 5m 53s | Untitled Arrow Game | ♥ 0 | 95 on first try, i like how it starts simple and the arrows start trying to trick you. |
| Apr 8 03:05:54 | 13m 21s | Popiel Defense | ♥ 1 | Good job, didn't realize at first you could zoom out and rotate, helped a lot. Archers seemed actually more effective than the mages, another layer to the gameplay like upgrading the archers could have been nice. |
| Apr 8 03:14:03 | 8m 09s | Trashy Towers | ♥ 1 | Almost got it to the top of the screen :D Very well made. I wish i could give bonus points for the NFT's not awarding points, lol. |
| Apr 8 03:20:33 | 6m 30s | Shutting Down | ♥ 0 | I keep crashing it after the blue button, i think if you somehow click two things at once it doesn't know what to do. Definitely fits the theme. |
| Apr 9 07:14:16 | 27h 53m | AstroPhysical | ♥ 1 | I liked it, i've seen a few other people with almost this exact game but I like your particular take on it with different weapons/etc. I had some trouble wit charging the solar beam, i had to hit the key almost a full half second before it lined up, once i knew that i could reliably do it, but the graphics didn't line up with the timing at all. I also keep having a hard lock up about 100s in, keeps happening when firing a solar beam. |
| Apr 9 07:27:05 | 12m 49s | I Don't Wanna Reincarnation | ♥ 1 | Cute art! I ended up playing it 3 times to try different things, one of the times I got a lot of money and was able to bribe. Got both cicada and dog endings. I do agree with other commenters, I didn't even see the counts at the left until second playthrough, maybe having them in the middle near the text would make them more obvious. |
| Apr 9 07:35:40 | 8m 35s | AI: Raining Cats and Dogs | ♥ 1 | Ramps up quite a bit, more challenging than you'd think as you get further into it, by 7 I was letting a bunch fail to pick out the easier ones. I love the absurdity of stroking the fish to get your energy back. |
| Apr 9 07:48:42 | 13m 02s | Persist Ant | ♥ 1 | Loved the art, music, and theme, collision and controls were pretty bad though which cut the fun quite a bit, often when i jumped it would play the sound but i just wouldn't jump, seems like touching anything cancels other inputs? was REALLY hard to do the vertical climb even without any pressure of anything chasing you as the jumps seemed to just snap up quickly then right back down. I kept having weird problems too like the gray blocks getting stuck. Honestly I think this would be a pretty fun game if just the controls and collision were cleaned up a bit. (personally i'd ditch the physics and just do it mario style) |
| Apr 9 08:03:52 | 15m 10s | Under Performer | ♥ 1 | had some issues with the font and the tutorial keeps popping up over gameplay, otherwise fairly well polished, liked the graphics and sound, the minigames were engaging enough. printer minigame was REALLY hard, mashing as fast as humanly possible it still feels like it just BARELY fills the bar to win....my poor space bar... |
