Thanks for bringing this game to the stream! :) Love the 2D cockpit! This was surprisingly very immersive. I had trouble figuring out how to dodge well, but maybe with a few more goes...
Thanks for sharing on the stream! I got #1 in Mood yeah!
Thanks for letting me play on the stream! A more "from scratch" game than most and yet feeling quite solid!
Very difficult game! I ended up focusing on just feeding the fire to get my best score.
I found the keyboard controls pretty tricky, so thanks for offering the controller option!
As you could probably tell from the stream, I really enjoyed this. Great experience with a seamless progression, and a very pure take on the theme.
Interesting little simulation. I was delighted when I first saw a building pop up.
Then I threw lots of disasters at it like a good evil deity.
I did feel it was a little slow to get going primarily due to how big and sparse the map is, but the need for progression kept me playing.
This a beautiful game! The narration is excellent and gives me a kind of experience that I didn't know I needed until now. One criticism I have is that the tilty ball room legitimately gave me motion sickness and it took a while to recover. xD I also had issues jumping up onto ledges if I were too close, for example in the moving wall squish room.
Anyway, I loved it!
Question: Is the second room on the left meant to be completable? I got to the coin at the end and even dodged the final spikes, but I couldn't do anything after that.
Had to play for all the endings. xD
These fashionists are very picky! They attack me just for wearing the wrong sock! Funny take on the theme. :)
Awesome game! Hard to believe this is your first. Thanks for letting me play on stream! :D
The best strategy seems to be to quickly draw a line at the bottom with a wall either side, then draw a staircase to the triangle with plenty of time to think about it. :)
@akirassasin Does clicking otherwise work for you? The logic for dragging is identical to clicks/releases so I don't know how it could be an issue specifically with dragging.
Note that you can only drag and drop worlds from the top menu. Once they are in you only have the option to delete them.
If that definitely isn't working, then what does happen when you try to drag a world in? Do you pick one up but are unable to place it?
Thanks!
@artyom-volkov Had somebody else mention that about space too. Noted, thanks.
@erebus It's true. Unfortunately I had to throw this level design together in the last hour so it's a bit rushed :P Thanks :)
@CyTheRabbit Thanks! Any chance you could clarify the hovering thing? When you click and drag from the top into an empty space what happens? Does it pick it up automatically with no click? How are you then able to drop a piece?
@ldreviews Thanks so much for this gif! I think I have been able to figure out what is going wrong from it and I would have been barking up the wrong tree otherwise. Looks like this is actually the cursor position being misread, and that appears to be due to the screen ratio not being correct. If I'm lucky just changing the scale mode might fix this. Will give it a shot. Thanks!
@HolyBlackCat Wow, thank you! :D
The engine is HaxeFlixel plus my own lib called Lycan which is on github. Did the art in PyxelEdit and audio in Reaper with a variety of plugins such as NI Massive, libs from Spitfire Audio, and the vocals are on a free kontakt library from Embertone called Arcane.
@mapedorr Thanks :) Box pushing probably feels strange due to the animation speed not slowing down even though you;re moving slower. :P The music was what I mainly made in an early 8 hour stint on the first night based around a more dramatic storyline which I didn't have time to implement.
@WanSou I can't seem to win on the control front as I get comments either way regardless of which way I map it. My preference is always for WASD and I hate space to jump, but players seem split on this like marmite :P Obviously the best way would be mappable controls but it's not really an option for a jam. xD
@unept It was indeed. xD I ended up doing all the levels in the final hour. The cross piece was a bit of an emergency inclusion because I realised it was going to be impossible to complete without it as I had to cut a couple of other worlds which I wouldn't have time for. I'm not displeased with it, though. I like that is is very different and ends up being a more unique reward near the end of the game. If I'd had two hours to do the levels I probably wouldn't have had it. If I'd had 3 hours, then I probably would have, because in hindsight I think it actually works well for this size game. :)
@alexrose I watched the stream and it was quite uncomfortable because it was all played at like 50% speed. Looked like a graphics card config thing which would explain why it didnt show up on the stream fullscreen but did in windowed. You may have been running and streaming from embedded gfx instead of dedicated for example.
I imagine the speed played a significant part in making it frustrating and not fun to play. I would have been frustrated at that speed also. :P I hope you can consider this factor when rating, because that seriously hampered the game in my opinion
Thanks for playing and sharing on your stream!
Cheers!
@alexrose Really appreciate you giving it a second go! Thanks! :)

@siimer The music is normalised so I can only suggest turning it down if you are referring to the actual volume, so itโll sound loud if the last thing you were listening to was quiet. Or are you referring to the style/intensity? Note that it applies a distortion and filter effect when zoomed out. What about it did you find annoying? Would be useful to get a little more as I don't have much to go on when it comes to improving it otherwise.
Also, what was your issue with the controller?
Cheers!
@siimer Thanks for the extra notes! Really useful. :)
I think with the music I'm going to tone it down a lot and try some adaptive audio which changes depending on the kinds of world you're currently playing. I'll certainly need to reduce the character speed a bit--jump especially--for the small scale of the worlds. Will experiment with acceleration, too.
Thanks!
I like the concept and I'm a fan of card collecting style games. The grid based controls were a little awkward, and didn't feel consistent with the non-grid movement of the enemies. As others mentioned, more contrast in the walls would be helpful. Also, the randomness of the fire was annoying sometimes when it just didn't go where I needed and then I'd have to wait. Was fun to collect everything :)
Thanks for sharing on the stream! Final score was 4100. Does this please the god?
Thanks for sharing on the stream!
A minimap to see the meteors would be great. Kinda scary to wind up floating into the void of space. It's a neat idea. :)
Nice mood. Very eerie and disconcerting. I found the little glass ornament in one of the cubicles. Apparently it wasn't useful, but I had to check every cubicle. Wasn't going to do that with the desks, though!
The interaction cursor didn't seem well aligned to the torchlight so it took me a while to realise I could interact with the lever properly as I had tried clicking but slightly the wrong position a few times.
Nice cutscene at the end!
Very polished, beautiful, atmospheric and HARD. I'm not in the 10% who could beat the final boss... yet. *tries again*
This was fun! Seemed to be getting super hard until health regen, but then after that maybe a bit too easy as if I could go on forever my just letting the slimes lump on top of each other into a single blob and get over them.
Would be great to figure out a way to have infinite procedural upgrades also. :)
Cool concept, but pretty tough and grindy. I was craving a "grace period" for jumps to make it feel a little more responsive. The progression kept me playing quite a while, though. :D
Nice work man! Took me a minute to figure out how it worked but then I was away. Very satisfying victory animation of taking over the garden :D
From what I could tell it was always effectively one action for you and one action for the enemy? Would love to see how it plays with actions based on current size, or some other kind of development vs the enemies size.
Thanks for bringing this to the stream! I'll be sure to have another go with the fixed controls and check out the later levels. :)
Thanks for bringing this to the stream! What an amazing concept. I'm super impressed. This is beautiful. I had trouble mapping my sounds exactly onto the consequences, but still managed to get to the end with a little uke song.
Love the music!
This is the funniest take on the theme I've seen. Mouse might have been a better option for pan on keyboard controls, but I was quite happy with a controller.
But yeah, this was hillarious. I'm going to have to go back and play more Rude Bear games in the saga now. xD
