Love the bow sounds lol. Just a few notes. The way the land moves was giving me motion sick which rarely happens to me. The controls feel like they are pulling left. The other pretty minor thing is I thought at first the spirits where aiming with the damaging attack. The graphics look awesome and I like the fog and the way it limits the view.
Why not upload a web build since you made it with unity? Easier access.

@thevideogamester Thank you for playing, and thank you for your feedback! I think the motion sickness might be due to the size of the tiles, I should try with bigger ones as that would cause less movement overall.
@mike09123 It's true that it would be a lot easier but the shader I used for the floor is rather expensive, so I'm not sure it would work as a web build. I'll try to build it for web later to see if it runs correctly.
Thats a good idea for the motion sickness. I liked the way it looked just couldn't handle so much movement especially during combat. The exploring wasn't too bad on that front

@thevideogamester Yeah that makes sense, with the faster pace of combat and all. And by the way the bow sounds were all made by mouth haha.

Wow, gorgeous game! Really cool effect on the level loading. Great work!

@lanalux Thank you very much for playing! I'll be sure to check your game out, I saw you were trying to upload it but I really needed to get some sleep.
I thought so. I loved the way it cycled through them as well. Like every two or three the thwip sound. Awesome lol
So cool art work, really addicted to it

Amazing style! Unique look, very different from other games.

@itshornunicorn @laegoose I'm really glad you guys liked it! As a programmer I usually suck at art but with shaders and lighting even basic low poly stuff look alright. Thank you for playing!
Very nice effect you got going on! Good graphics and simple concept. Imo try add some SFX as well since it would add so much to your game. Hiteffects, attacks etc. I had a couple of runs until i reached the boss but it was worth it! Looked good! Great work!

@appoxgames Thank you for playing! And yeah I wanted to add a bit more feedback on attacks and stuff but I ran out of time, unfortunately
The controls being at a 45 decree angle makes it hard to move around precisely, but the art is astounding! I love the affect you made for all the ground appearing. lovely game, great work.

@blobo Hey there, thank you for playing my game and thank you for your comment! In the settings menu, you can switch the controls orientation between two modes, if that helps!
I think the camera movement is a little too fast with the scenery that appears ... But it's so beautiful congratulations to you ... However I had to restart the game because after a death in level 2 impossible to try again no button was working

@tasakasama Thank you so much for trying it out! I agree, 15 minutes before submission I wanted to slow down the movement and add a "dash forward" ability, but I was a bit too short on time. And sorry to hear about that bug, that's annoying!
Love the look and how everything animates, very very stylish game!
Thanks for sharing on the stream!

@polyethyleneglykol Thank you for playing! I'm really happy you liked the style, I put a lot of effort into it!
@joe-williamson Thank you a lot for playing it on stream! World Collector is definitely one of the best entries I've had the chance to play so far

This is really really good! The graphics are great, it has a nice aesthetic, I love the music, and the gameplay is fun! Are you sure you made this in 2 days?!?! My only complaint is that adjusted controls were on by default, which felt pretty awful. Other than that I can't really find an issue with this game. Good job!

2019-10-07 20:55
@ktao Hey there, thank you for playing my game, I'm really glad you liked it and your words mean a lot! Well there's a few tricks, the music is mostly made by a generator (see description) and slightly touched up in Audacity, which saves a lot of time. Same for the models, they're all made of primitives (spheres for the enemies, cubes for the environment...) except for the player, the bow, a tree and two rocks haha. The rest is all done by simple shaders. Feel free to check out the sources to see how it's all set up!

Great animations, great music! Got a little motion sick though :c.

Great game, I really enjoyed playing it. Like others before me have mentioned, controlls and handling could be better. Awesome moutheffects and fitting background music. Fog and the laser shooting eyes were awesome.
2019-10-07 22:27
The artstyle/models of this game are great. The soundFx were amusing and add to the feeling of the game. Once I switched to the normal control scheme, the game itself felt a lot better and the shooting works well.
My two big issues, would come in the fact that there isn't really a visual indication (at least that I could see) that either your character or the enemy was talking damage (like a flinch or animation or something). The other thing is the movement of the tiles. I only have mild motion sickness and I could feel it affecting me. I'm not sure what would fix that, maybe you could have the tiles start moving further away and at a slower rate or have bigger tiles.
Apart from fixing those things and some simple polish, this is a great game. Well Done!

Lovely graphics. The amount of polish overall was really cool, and the eyeball enemies were sick.
I think the normal controls should've been default. The firing was slightly clunky as aiming direction was affected by movement/rotation and holding down LMB to auto-fire wasn't possible. UI-wise, I think health bars over enemies would've been great. I also found the soul count difficult to read. Maybe a simple 'souls acquired / needed souls' would've been clearer.

Wow, the visuals are absolutely stunning - easily some of the best I've ever seen in a compo game. I love the weird trails around the eyeball things, and the world remaking itself around you is really fun to watch and (deliberately?) disorienting. Great work!

@drakespartan @simxple Thanks for trying out my game! I'm sorry about the motion sickness, and I agree that there's a few things I could do to fix it, like making the movement slower and the tiles bigger. Or only making them spawn in front of you and not despawn.
@drakespartan I also agree that I should have included visual feedback, not only audio, like an animation or a quick colour change. Thank you for your detailed feedback, that's awesome!
@marcin-j Thank you for playing! I'm really glad you liked the game! If I end up working more on it, I will definitely look into making the controls feel right.
@corrade Thank you for playing and for your comment! From your feedback and others' it seems the normal controls are a much better default choice, and to think that it's only an integer to change in the inspector. I'll know better next time! I also think I made a mistake with the rotation on shoot, it seems to be frame rate dependent, I saw my colleagues play it and the character didn't turn as fast as when I made it. Rookie mistake haha.
@mahalis Thank you so much for those kind words! I'm glad you liked the game and the world coming into place effect!

Really nice looking game! I love the design and particle effects. The shooting could be a bit more accurate but its fun!

really liked how the game looks, but the controls are too strange
sozey
2019-10-08 14:05
@odeyalko Thanks for playing! Have you tried the other controls mode? The adjusted mode is on by default, that was a bad call by me
Cool game! Great art. It felt quite difficult, but the difficulty slider on the death screen is a great feature that many more Ludum Dare games should have.
I encountered a bug where I managed to go through the wall on the 2nd level, by the way. I was outside the map and had to restart the game.

2019-10-08 17:47
@luckyfeathers Thank you so very much for playing! I added that difficulty setting in the last hour before submission haha. Oh I had noticed that bug during one of my playthrough but even after fiddling with the colliders and physics settings I didn't manage to get it fixed, unfortunately.

This is a serious piece of work you made here. Pretty advanced graphics compare to many other games, gameplay is challenging and difficulty is well managed(I had to turn it a little down). Great entry, congrats
sozey
2019-10-08 20:59
@ferdi Thank you very much for playing and for your kind words! I wanted the game to be accessible for everyone but also challenging for the more "hardcore" players so the difficulty is pretty modular!
I like your visuals, but gameplay suffers from spongy enemies, I think they should have less HP.

2019-10-09 08:13
@artyom-volkov Thank you for playing! Yeah you're probably right, I should at least have made it scale better with difficulty, I think right now they're still killed in two shots at the easiest setting. I played your game too, it was a lot of fun!

I said it before on twitch stream and I'll say it again... LOVELY GFX! The atmosphere is great! Levely details like eyes changing their colors when shooting! GJ!

@chrissx2 Thank you so much for your encouraging words! I'm really happy you enjoyed my little game! You and your team's entry is amazing too, you did a great job with the art and getting the atmosphere to feel as great as it does!

I much preferred the normal control ^^. Another thing I missed was a shadow on the enemies to help me get a better sense of where they are in the world for me to direct the arrows. I think an auto aim, to direct the arrows a bit, would also be interesting.
Congratulations on the game, fun and challenging, fantastic art.
sozey
2019-10-10 07:19
@leandroc Hey, thank you for trying out the game! Yeah I should definitely have made normal the default one, I'm apparently the only one who likes the adjusted controls haha. And the shadows is a great idea, it would definitely help.

Boss fight is hard to figure out how to beat on hardest level, because he turns faster than I move, so how do you even say alive :D
sozey
2019-10-10 09:27
@kuviman Hey, thank you so much for playing on stream! Yeah it's pretty difficult, it's a mix of getting out of his range and shooting him so you get health back. But definitely not simple at that level!
I really like how the land builds up as you move! If I were you, I would make a gif about it and post it here and on itch.io That would make people more interested to try out your game, as it is very cool and gives a sense of exploration!

@pestodesign Hey there, thank you so much for playing! That's a good suggestion, I tried to make a gif but it looked all choppy, I'll try to find a better tool!
I use Filmora to record my screen and export it a small gif. And it works :) Even a few seconds would show of this game mechanic so nicely!
Nice game! Thanks for including an alternative control mode, the default one was hard to use in combat. It's a bit hard, even on easy, but I loved the land effect!

Lovely graphics. I included it in my Ludum Dare 45 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/ZxefAL2rBy8
