Great! I'm impressed by how good the art is for a 48 hour jam.
Thanks! I'm an artist, it was the easiest part)
Cool game wit nice art, a top-down metroid is just what I need! Shifting ground makes for a good mechanic where avoidance is a major part of any top-down shooter. On some levels ground shifting was unpredictable, specially on 9th level you are never warned and take a chance. Had fun nevertheless. Good job!
Love the art style!
nice visual :), the only negative part is the music, and the boss lack of difficulty compared to the rest of the game
Great art style and use of the theme! I really loved how dynamic the play area was and those moments where the enemies have you cornered are intense! Audio was a bit repetitive but I had a lot of fun playing! Good job!
Really nice idea.
Graphics are neat and successfull. I really like the Metroïd ambiance who's emerging from them.
I'd call the boss as God of Mask Layers. It is pretty interesting to play. A variety of enemies and ability to dash/jump would be a nice addition to the gameplay.

Wow, seriously now, this game looks GREAT! Is this also your first game jam? (from what I've seen on your profile). Anyways, the game is cool! Good job.
Nice job, seriously! My only criticisms are the music and that the gun kinda feels poor to fire, but everything else is top-notch, so good job!
This is definitely one of the best implementation of the enclosing arena idea, very original. Your art style is soooo slick too, Idk if you were making a reference with the spike thingy but that really reminds me of an anime series called "kagewani". Those spikes really add up the mood to the game. Great great work, it scores everything very high for me
Very nice entry. The only exception is the sound which feels repetitive.
Wow this was great. Nice use of the theme! The gfx were outstanding. Well done!
Pretty nice game! Well done!
This is not my first game. But LD I'm participating for the first time.
Really good mood and artwork.
It's all been said above, but still - great art! Very much enjoyed the ground shifting mechanics and how it was implemented (i.e. not shrinking linearly). Amazing work for a one man band!
Ok, first, the art is amazing and fits the game perfectly. It looks sort of like a painting which works really well for the abstract space mood. The actual game was really fun and was a good challenge. Some of the levels were a little harsh and took some trial and error to complete. Level 5 was my favorite since it was fast paced but it also didn't feel like it trapped me in areas I had no chance to survive in. Audio isn't the best. I kind of like how the music adds to the chaotic mood but it gets kind of hard to listen to after a while. I think it might work if you gradually added to it with more instruments playing the same thing.
Loved the entirety of how your map worked, and how each level had a different pattern of overlapping. Design wise, I found the orbs to have little functionality at the start of the levels, with their shooting having no positive gameplay effects, thus not rewarding their shooting. This in itself is not a bad thing, but it made me avoid shooting them as much as possible.
Issue I encountered: when I lost it still said WIN.
Something I loved was restarting at the last level you unlocked. It's a really cool mechanic to put in a jam game to make people see the end of it.
As others have said, the art is very crisp for the timeframe. Good job!
First off,I love the fact you made this with Construct, trully a case of selecting the correct tool for the task! Art is extreamly impresive and audio is better then it has any right to be for a 48 hour jam. Would of liked to see some collectables and different enemys but frankly for a jam that is probably unreasonable. Dificulty increase is just right and shows some true thought into level design. Overall, fantastic work!
Fantastic artwork! the game itself was very well developed as well. Good job overall!
Good art. A good embodiment of the concept.
Great game! :D
I really liked the transparency/reveal fx you were doing with the ground. Very creative!
Here's my playthrough: https://youtu.be/0QzYhO_Hxeo
I really liked the take on the theme, great job!!
I love your art style! Good work!
Very nice game. I like the graphics and the way the ground disappears, but the music isn't very good, An option to disable it would have been nice, but i feel like the audio is dragging down the score. The artwork is very nice though!
Its a great game ! I had a lot of pleasure playing it and finishing it ! Quite hard too ! The only things that were annoying was the repetitive music and th efact that when one inch of your foot touches the void, you die. This was a bit annoying but I guess it was part of the game. The animations were very nice and the gameplay very fluid. Well done :)
Good Things: The idea was incredible and really theme fitting, the game is very polished and graphics were at top level.
Bad things: Music and SFX were pretty annoying and not in the right mood as the space-like ambient with aliens and power suits.
Overall: Surely one of the best entry made in this LD42 and an incredible work for a Compo entry. Good job man, this is awesome!
Hey! Feedback coming from www.twitch.tv/arjendesign just now! - Difficulties streaming the game offline and in the browser. (low frame rate) - Neat idea with the shrinking borders! Bit confusing in the beginning, because it says 'win!' regardless if you win or lose. - Why do you have a gun exactly? Edit: tried it in Edge, works better (but couldnt record it on stream). He noticed enemies now. - Great implementation!
Lovely art and clever approach to shrinking space. Some levels seem too random to me. Good job!
A really good and fun game Every level feels different is really good
Realy good art and animation! Gameplay good as well, I like the different shapes of dark "thing" that shrink;))
Great game, it was hard due to the small space of error(pun?) and the rotation of the arm was a bit slow according to me^^ But other then that, good looking artwork, great level design and a fun and challenging game. You also implemented the theme in a unique and cool way:) Great job!
Beautiful art, congratulations!
I like it. I've seen your post at start of jam, and yeah, you've done great :)
Amazing art! Loved the visuals of the game. It's pretty fun to play. Good job!
Awesome art! Level 5 surprised me in a positive way, awesome feeling. Good movements, solid gameplay. Well done!
A gorgeous game. A great deal of fun to play too. Only feedback i have is that even if a little bit of the player (even the shadow) collides with the outside void its game over. That does make it more challenging as a game but does also make it a bit unfair. I amy revisit this game
Nice game! Good job!
Nice grqphics. it took me some retries to get the hitbox, then it became easier. Gameplay is simple but well done. I made it to the end. Well done !
Great graphics, really well made game. I've liked it very much, congrats. :)
Very cool game ! Art is cool, music is a little bit too repetitive but ok and you are entierly in the theme :)
Decent game here. I feel like this is the perfect ludumdare style kind of game. It's fast and lets you repeat the levels if you die, making it much less like mega man and more like a kind, 'lazy', approach for gameplay so you can memorize movement for only one level rather than going through the entire game every time. Thanks for that. Superb graphics, smooth movement and gameplay. sweet. Only thing that was a bit on edge was the sounds and music. Great entry.
I really liked the level design in this one! I kept playing for a while :) It's a nice take on the theme and the combination of avoiding the blackness and shooting the balls made it very fun. I actually loved the simple music and sounds, it set a good mood. I also really liked the graphics but I did find myself wondering if it was necessary to have such a worked out graphic style for a simple game. I think it may work even better with simpler graphics actually, this may be a weird opinion :p
Great game, well done
The idea is good and the graphics are really good ! The motion of the space on the level 4 (if I remember well) is a bit too hard to predict and then we don't know where put our character and survive if we need to change platform. Good job !
Nice art and good, simple gameplay! At first I thought the balls would be the primary nemisis, but the shadows that shrink the space were the actual opponent :D Perhaps a minor tweak to make is to make touching the edge not be insta-death, but lose 50% life. Still very deadly, but survivable once.
Interesting combination of ideas! It is pretty hard game, BTW! Nicely polished in some aspects. Good job. ;-)
I set out to complete the game by the end of voting.
Here's what's already added:
MAP map.jpg
WEAPON weapon1.gif Jump jump.gif
ENEMY
postcampo.gif mage.gif
Temporary platforms Cristal.gif
Nice game ; hard but really fun.
Great concept and weapons, can't wait to see the post compo version!
Wow, that was hard! Especially level 9, the holes are moving so quickly. I took me a while to realize that the pattern was fixed and that I might survive by memorizing the pattern, flipping the world around was a great way to hide the fact that the pattern is hard-coded!
A small nitpick: I kept dying from falling into space, not from the enemies, and so the death animation didn't make sense since there's no ground onto which to fall.
Great concept hope you continue on working on this game :)
