| Oct 19 21:34:47 | Scrap Quest | ♥ 4 | Very stylish, amazing job! For some reason of macOS I always keep playing in the small square even after pressing the fullscreen button. But I've managed to play somehow :) | |
| Oct 19 21:37:17 | 2m 30s | Outmoded | ♥ 1 | Oh my... That's absolutely amazing! I love the idea, the style, and the vibes I get from playing with all the tuning. I was wondering if the audio is also connected to the tuning I am making with the visuals? |
| Oct 19 21:39:03 | 1m 46s | Punch Card 0 | ♥ 0 | Good looking one! |
| Oct 19 21:41:43 | 2m 40s | AURORA Project | ♥ 1 | Thanks to your game, I’ve realized I miss text adventures :) Is the text input handling all coded, or does it use an LLM? No judgment, just engineering curiosity. Great job! |
| Oct 19 21:49:49 | 8m 06s | MemoryManager98.exe | ♥ 1 | I think it’s an amazing idea to build around Windows 98 vibes :) So nostalgic! I remember building interfaces like that in Delphi, a development environment - so cozy and warm memories sparked by your amazing game idea, great job! |
| Oct 19 21:55:08 | 5m 19s | Gamma Emergency | ♥ 1 | Oh, now I get it. I should bounce it, right? I exploded a few times before figuring it out. I love how clear and easy to understand the beginning of the game is. It creates tension naturally. Great job! |
| Oct 19 22:02:10 | 7m 02s | Analog Overdrive | ♥ 1 | Hey @maxxxmax . Oleg from the trains game here. I want to say the the visuals and camera shakes are just beyond awesome. Have no idea how to make the game feels like this in such and short period of time, awesome job! |
| Oct 19 22:05:26 | 3m 16s | Lensor | ♥ 1 | You perfectly nailed the style of games from that era. I’d honestly forgotten they used to look like that. Amazing job! The left panel really gives me HOMM3 vibes :) |
| Oct 19 22:10:32 | 5m 06s | Rotabot | ♥ 2 | It looks just like the ancient mosaics here in Cyprus :) It also reminds me a bit of Potion Craft. It took me 2-3 minutes to get used to the controls, but the idea is very cool. Seeing an "ancient" mosaic about a "Roman Robot" was funny too :) |
| Oct 19 22:18:54 | 8m 22s | The Switchboard Operator | ♥ 1 | Leonard Foxley wasn't easy to find, but I did it :) Love the concept! Now I'm curious about the actual process of deciding who should be commuted where during the Old Tech era. Thanks! |
| Oct 19 22:26:22 | 7m 28s | Primitive Logistics | ♥ 1 | I like it! I’m very bad at delivery. I’ve pushed the robot with the pile of wood straight into the head so many times... It was very funny, thanks for building that! |
| Oct 19 22:29:23 | 3m 01s | Terrrapy | ♥ 2 | Unfortunately, I wasn't a good doctor. The game's visuals are amazing. Great job! |
| Oct 19 22:31:52 | 2m 29s | TGISSTOGWLT (This Game Is Somewhat Similar To Other Games With Long Titles) | ♥ 1 | Legend! |
| Oct 19 22:59:25 | 27m 33s | THE LAST WORD | ♥ 4 | Unfortunately the game doesn't start on macOS (latest Chrome). In the logs there are something about the fmod initialization. But screenshots and gifs look amazingly well! |
| Oct 20 10:00:16 | 11h 00m | Living Scraps | ♥ 2 | I love the idea and overall fantasy of the game: scanning unknown tech and making decisions about it while uncovering its secrets and stories. Great job, and the art style is amazing! P.S. Big fan of your huge cursor arrow. For some reason, it makes the game feel much more interactive. |
| Oct 20 13:20:48 | 3h 20m | Overheat | ♥ 1 | This is really stylish and cool. How did you create the horizontal lines on the screen? They make everything look beautiful. I love the idea that I’ve lost my cable, the battery is running low, and I can use fans to cool it down, but not all the time. It’s such a clever concept. I’m a big fan. I’m glad you made this game. I really enjoyed it. |
| Oct 20 13:24:15 | 3m 27s | Torch Keeper | ♥ 1 | The mechanic is really cool. Being the genius I am, I initially missed that the torch points toward the cursor. I played using only the keyboard without moving the mouse and couldn’t figure out the puzzle because I kept putting out the torch when I jumped. I really liked the idea of checkpoints being places where you can relight the torch. The jumping and movement feel great, making the game enjoyable to play. Excellent work. |
| Oct 20 13:26:17 | 2m 02s | DON'T CRASH 95 | ♥ 1 | I really enjoyed the funny text on your page. “One installation, a thousand problems” is a great line. But Windows 95 wasn’t that bad, especially toward the end of its life cycle, when more powerful hardware made it feel fast. Windows 98 was the same. Both felt incredibly responsive. Thanks for such an interesting game and the nostalgia. |
| Oct 20 13:27:56 | 1m 39s | ASPHYXIA | ♥ 1 | Thank you so much for the macOS build. Those are rare here at Ludum Dare, so it was great to see. I did have to look up how to run it, since modern macOS blocks third-party builds like this. The visual style is really cool. The noise overlay disguises the simplicity of the objects and makes everything look stylish. Nice work. It all feels very cohesive. |
| Oct 20 13:36:57 | 9m 01s | Little Bug, Big Computer | ♥ 0 | It’s really cool that you told the story from the bug’s perspective. I’ve never seen that before. I also liked how the game responds to every action and button press. Everything looks good and animates smoothly. It feels very cohesive for a prototype. Thanks, I had fun playing. |
| Oct 20 13:39:13 | 2m 16s | The Raven Sea 🚤 | ♥ 1 | I liked the unusual combination of retro, low-poly graphics and a deeply immersive atmosphere. I don’t usually play games with dark themes like saving souls, but I still really enjoyed it. This seems like a lot of work for a Ludum Dare game. Great job, and thanks! I had a lot of fun playing. |
| Oct 20 16:02:47 | 2h 23m | The Animation Morgue | ♥ 1 | nice concept of using old style cartoon camera setup for puzzles, wish there were more complicated combinations, though! |
| Oct 20 17:05:53 | 1h 03m | The Base for Old Creations | ♥ 0 | I really like how this game looks. The combination of dark red tones and the sky gives it a Martian feel. Hope to play it tomorrow. I don’t have a Windows PC with me right now :( |
| Oct 20 17:09:14 | 3m 21s | A Portal Home | ♥ 1 | I laughed when the caption “There is a nice intro here, meow, woof” appeared. That was funny. But once I started playing, I got stuck in the valve-turning interaction. After trying to turn the valve, I couldn’t move away from it to continue playing. Maybe I’m doing something wrong. I tried pressing Escape, the arrow keys, Space, and Enter, but nothing worked. |
| Oct 20 17:19:59 | 10m 45s | Totally Accurate Data Center Simulator | ♥ 0 | That was really fun. I haven’t played games like this in years, and I enjoyed getting back into that Wolfenstein-like atmosphere. I’m not sure if this is intentional, but you can use weapon recoil to push yourself backward through walls. I also struggled to figure out where I was on the map. Adding a player location marker would make navigation much easier. At first, I didn’t understand what the pager messages meant or what I was supposed to do with them. They seemed to contain only an image, and its meaning wasn’t clear. But great job overall! |
| Oct 20 17:22:05 | 2m 06s | Foot Night Attack Funtime: Vengeful Counterfeit Feet: One Night BloodFoot Attack | ♥ 1 | I played on the latest version of macOS, Tahoe 26.6.2. Since your build isn’t signed with an Apple Developer Account, I had to use Terminal to allow it to run, but it worked. The game looks very stylish. Even though there’s a lot of black on the screen, the visuals are really well done. Great work, and thank you for the game. |
| Oct 20 19:00:52 | 1h 38m | THREAT* | ♥ 2 | Nice 8bit mood! |
| Oct 20 19:02:21 | 1m 29s | ANIMAL BAR TYCOON | ♥ 2 | Nice gfx style! |
| Oct 20 19:05:00 | 2m 39s | Nomad City | ♥ 1 | Nice autobattler, very pleasant colors. |
| Oct 20 19:28:33 | 23m 33s | Pager Panic | ♥ 1 | I saw this game recommended in the comments and decided to try it. I really shouldn’t be allowed near games like this, because I spent countless months playing Theme Hospital years ago. I instantly love anything with that vibe. It’s really fun running around and getting tasks on a pager. From the first second, you feel like a doctor in a hospital, constantly busy, with so much to do and everything depending on you. I loved that feeling. Thanks for the Dem Hospital nostalgia. If you managed to make this over a weekend, that’s really impressive. |
| Oct 20 19:30:20 | 1m 47s | Out Of Frame | ♥ 4 | Someone recommended this game in the comments, so I decided to try it. The art is incredibly stylish, especially the 2D billboards. If it were on Steam right now for $20, that price would feel completely reasonable. The idea of using an old camera to look into the past is really cool. I love photography, so I always enjoy games that let me take pictures or interact with a camera. This one does it really well. If you turn this into a full game, I’ll gladly buy it on Steam and leave a positive review. Excellent work. I don’t know how many artists worked on it, but they did an amazing job. |
| Oct 20 19:34:03 | 3m 43s | Press Any Key! | ♥ 2 | Someone recommended this game in the comments, so I played it. I liked how everything looks. It’s very stylish. I also enjoyed the gameplay, similar to Punch Club or older games where you move around an isometric level and always have plenty to do. It feels like an office life simulator. The setting hooked me right away: an office with old computers in 1999. My first thought was, “Wow, that’s interesting. I haven’t seen anything like this before.” There’s a little too much text for me. As a player, I’d really appreciate being able to play without having to read so much. Overall, though, it’s really cool. The music sounds grand and rich. I wouldn’t expect music like that in this kind of game. It’s excellent. I don’t know how many artists worked on this, but the artwork is beautiful. If your artist has an ArtStation profile or something similar, please share it. I’d love to see more of their work. |
| Oct 20 19:37:46 | 3m 43s | The Mushroom Boy | ♥ 1 | Someone recommended this game in the comments, so I gave it a try. Whoever came up with the greenish fog fading into the distance really knows how to create atmosphere. It makes the visuals look incredibly interesting. The subtle texture some distance from the camera adds to the effect. I haven’t seen a style quite like this before, and I really like it. I didn’t play very well and ate relatively few mushrooms. I tried to eat more, but just running around looking for them was fun. I also love the sound of clearing fallen leaves. It’s satisfying and makes me feel like I’m actually brushing leaves aside. For a Ludum Dare game, this is incredibly well done. Great work. I don’t know whether the graphics are procedural or hand-drawn, but the overall style is fantastic. If I saw a GIF of this on Twitter, I’d definitely click. |
| Oct 20 20:28:14 | 50m 28s | No Replacements | ♥ 1 | The game loaded instantly, and everything runs quickly and smoothly. The old manuals and computers create the atmosphere of a vintage electronics repair shop. It’s really cool and reminds me a little of Zachtronics games on Steam. It’s very well done. The one thing I’d wish for is a way to play without reading so much text. On the third evening of working on our Ludum Dare game all day, that much reading is difficult. Highlighting where to click and what to do, at least in the early stages, would help me understand how things work. Overall, it’s great. I didn’t immediately understand how to desolder a broken component, but I eventually figured it out. Great job! |
| Oct 20 20:32:38 | 4m 24s | Lots of old files | ♥ 0 | Projects like this are why I love Ludum Dare. You can find something completely unlike a typical game. I spent ages extracting the archives, then digging through the folders. Whenever I found clues, I felt like a character in Ready Player One, searching a digital hiding place and connecting the pieces. It’s a great feeling, especially because you’re doing it on your own familiar computer, not in a dedicated game interface. I was very tempted to let Claude search through everything and tell me what it found, but I didn’t. Thank you so much for the experience. It was incredibly cool, and I’m genuinely impressed. |
| Oct 20 20:40:33 | 7m 55s | Decom Protocol | ♥ 3 | It took me a while to figure out how to switch the magnet on and off, but I eventually got it. It’s really cool. As soon as I was told not to break protocol, I wanted to break it. I kept looking for a way to blow everything up or cause some other chaos. I couldn’t blow everything up, but I won’t be getting a promotion either. Thanks, I really enjoyed it. |
| Oct 21 13:41:54 | 17h 01m | Lexitron | ♥ 1 | Nice concept, lacks a bit of tutorial, but when you get the concept, it became interesting |
| Oct 21 19:40:18 | 5h 58m | Siege of Syracuse | ♥ 1 | Γεια σας από την Κύπρο! Μια όμορφη και πολύ ενδιαφέρουσα ιδέα. Καταπληκτική δουλειά! Hello, I am from Cyprus :) So nice to see this setting and your artwork is just beyond amazing. Love it, miss the games of Greek/Roman/Byzantine culture so much. But in general: I'm a big fan of tower defence, and your game is wonderfully minimalist. I've enjoyed it :) Thanks a lot! |
| Oct 22 09:20:15 | 13h 39m | Fantomansis's secret | ♥ 1 | I like it a lot. The sound design and how everything clicks are amazing. Col. Krivorotov is a tough guy! fantomas.webp |
| Oct 22 09:25:39 | 5m 24s | The Athanor Estate | ♥ 1 | I love text adventures, and yours is very stylish. Every response felt natural and never made me feel like I’d tried something I wasn’t supposed to do. Amazing! I got a bit stuck after the servant’s room, but it was fun. Thanks! |
| Oct 22 14:26:46 | 5h 01m | Nimkip and the Quest to Build an Airship | ♥ 2 | It would be cool to add a button to switch between nimkips. And add some enemies. Nice and peaceful game. |
| Oct 22 14:53:06 | 26m 20s | Rail Mania | ♥ 1 | Trains are cool! Lovely game, thanks for sharing! Your explanation system is better than the tutorials in many games on Steam. Great job on a fun train-themed brain puzzle, can recommend to play with kids as well! :) |
| Oct 22 17:44:58 | 2h 51m | Loss | ♥ 0 | Great, spooky atmosphere! |
| Oct 22 17:48:44 | 3m 46s | Vipf | ♥ 0 | It's a very original concept, but it's a little hard to figure out what you're supposed to do! Even so, the game is worth checking out! |
| Oct 22 17:56:17 | 7m 33s | Dial_Up. | ♥ 1 | It's a tough game, but for some reason I'm totally hooked on it! Those old phones of yours are scary stuff! :))) |
| Oct 22 18:05:31 | 9m 14s | Old Deck | ♥ 0 | The atmosphere is captured in a very familiar way. It reminded me of my childhood. |
| Oct 22 18:11:18 | 5m 47s | Old Techniques: The Last Master | ♥ 1 | It's just so cool-like, beyond belief! There's really nothing to say here - you just have to play it! |
| Oct 22 18:13:49 | 2m 31s | Plug In & Out | ♥ 1 | Amazing attention to atmosphere and detail! The game is well worth checking out and does a great job of capturing the theme of vintage technology. |
| Oct 22 23:16:55 | 5h 03m | My Rusty Giant | ♥ 0 | It's a good idea, but the balance needs some work. Otherwise, the developer deserves praise! |
| Oct 24 19:33:58 | 44h 17m | A Little Louder | ♥ 0 | The game’s core fantasy is really cool: you’re a tired police officer working late after visiting a crime scene, reviewing voice recordings while your boss waits for you. I haven’t seen this in games before, but it’s familiar from TV shows, films, and stereotypes about police work. I’d probably play something like this. This Is the Police explores police life in a somewhat similar way. However, I spent about two minutes trying to figure out how to pick up the cassette. I tried every button but couldn’t work out how to turn the camera or find the tape. I thought it was somewhere near the computer and didn’t realize the camera could turn. Otherwise, it was really cool. Thanks a lot. |
| Oct 24 19:38:16 | 4m 18s | Blokia Designer | ♥ 1 | This is really well made. I remember when Winamp and operating systems looked like this. I still think that style looked better than modern Windows. You could clearly see the interface elements and where to click. I really like it. As for making devices, I built an iPod but couldn’t sell it. Apparently, you have to be Steve Jobs to pull that off. Thank you so much for this game. I had a lot of fun playing it. It also reminded me of Delphi, a development environment where building interfaces felt very similar. I’d love to play a tycoon game in this style about something other than phones, perhaps making retro video games. I also really liked the BIOS-style loading screen and the way you placed the Next Turn button where the Windows Start button would be. That’s a clever design choice. |
